Mizan Tandoori in County Durham

Ordered on Friday 4th oct been ill.ever since worst meal iv ever had, both of us were ill the next day

I ordered via Deliveroo. My order never arrived. The restaurant didn't bother calling or assisting me.

Best Curry house in the area at the moment and I eat a lot of curry. The rice ( Mushroom pilau 😍) is always lovely and fresh with plenty of veg in it a real stand out .Also the lads at the front desk very friendly and polite.

It says enjoy food but it is not here.

used to be a good takeaway with good quality food, friendly staff, prompt delivery. have given them several chances in the last few months and food is now average at best, the service is tardy. and the delivery lady tonight practically threw our delivery at us.....presumably the same lady who answered the phone when I called the restaurant when my food was 20 minutes late to say it they were very busy and she would be delivering in 15 mins....she didn't!!!! was still 20 minutes later than that!

The healthiest take away I've ever had in that most of it went straight in the bin. Very poor food quality. I am shocked at the Ubet Eats rating and now realise, looking at Google, that it's clearly inaccurate.

Ordered take-away from their website. On collection apparently ‘haven’t received my order’ despite showing receipt that was e-mailed and screenshot of payment made!!! Unable to effectively discuss this with them. Total waste of £40.

Curry is a runny soup. Honestly so disappointed. Tried it once and never again.

First time i’ve ordered from here and safe to say i’ll be coming back, food was spot on, chicken was actually nice (change for me as other places i’ve ordered from have been shocking) would definitely recommend

Hello, The food was cold, had to be re-heated in the microwave, Nan bread paper bag wet not edible. Please refund, I have not ate mine or my children.

The delivery driver was very rude

I’ve never had food delivered in such a poor condition, looked like the driver had been booting the bag like a football, poppadoms reduced to crisps & tikka massala all over the entire order !!!

Food was ordered at 19:30 and didn’t arrive until 22:00, and was lukewarm. restaurant was aggressive saying that we weren’t answering our phone - took us calling them 2 times for them to release they’d given the driver the wrong number. will not be reordering

Food isn’t as hot as it should be on arrival most of the time but it is absolutely lush tho. Biggest onion bhajis out of every tandoori I’ve tried. Lovely. Madras is bangin vindaloo is bangin jalfrezi is bangin 👌🏾👌🏾 best about.

Absolute disgrace, took nearly two hours to come. Then the delivery driver couldn’t find my house and told us ‘he wasn’t driving anymore’ ( they’ve delivered to me before) I have a child at home so my neighbour had to walk the streets to find it. I rang the shop and he said ‘it isn’t my fault’. Have used this place before but will never again. So disappointment. And food was freezing by the time it got here

Ordered at 5.45 - delivered at 7.25!!! Estimated delivery was 6.30 to 6.50. Curry hot but rice and bread cold. I live about 4 miles away so not great

Chicken tikka masala was very runny (like soup)with chicken that was smoky. Onion bahjis were rock hard.

The chips were especially cold and soggy, everything was lukewarm. The pathia had little to no taste. The chaat would have tasted fine apart from the fact it was cold. Was so excited for a takeaway and decided to treat myself , however I’ve never been left feeling more unsatisfied by an Indian meal.

High quality authentic Indian food for takeaway. Love the Mosala from here - remember it when it was Rajahs Kitchen in 1986 and still going now!

Ordered at 7pm. Due to be delivered between 8 - 8:20pm. Rang restaurant at 8:35pm to be told "it's in the kitchen, I'll send it out as soon as the delivery driver is back" (no apologies for lateness) Food finally arrived at 9:05 pm by which point I had gone past the point of being hungry. Not a great experience and won't be ordering from them again

Restaurant said my order has been delivered when it certainly has not they also say they took a photo I would like to know of what as it’s not my order or my house disgusting been waiting two hours now

Fantastic meal, arrived piping hot, great taste, great portion sizes and delivered within 20 minutes of ordering, what a fantastic service, Thank you and well deserving a 5 star review. We will be back soon.

Early as requested just the way we like it ,food was excellent again.

Disappointed to be honest. Expected a nice orange coloured Balti. But a watery pale Yellow mush got delivered. Had no flavour at all couldn’t taste any herbs / spices like stated. Very bland if I had to Describe how it tasted I’d say just water. The only thing that bad flavour was the mint yoghurt sauce stuff. Can I’d coke was warm and flat. Whole meal which cos £17 was disgusting and went in the bin. Won’t be ordering from here again. Tasteless watery mush.

Used be beautiful food shame(muntaha) . Lukewarm food quite bland and missing item overal poor for price you pay first time had orange tikka massala usually red

The main was oily and bland as the sauce had separated. Was supposed to be spicy and there wasn't even a slight kick. The naan bread was nice however and the rice was good. Unfortunately won't be ordering again as the main was so off putting.

The food containers from the curries had broken open and leaked on all the food. Really poor packaging. Meat products mixed with vegetarian food. I think it must of been drop kicked all the way to front door. Don’t waste your money.

Decent value and piping hot on arrival, slight disappointment that the mixed kebab starter lacked the usual side salad and riata dressing though , chicken tikka passanda was good but not as much chicken as in the past , pilaw rice was cooked well and the popadoms crisp and fresh, on the whole a decent meal and will use this place again

Lovely as always but still can't understand that you spend £20 and get free poppadoms but spend nearly £40 and get none ! Poppadoms and prawn crackers are less than a penny and should be sent with every meal. However I cannot complain about the actual food I ordered as it was delicious 😋

Full mail for 2 £36 was taist less. Corma was like water,special fried rice,2 kemanans, 4 onion bargies . All had no taist. ALSO order came and left on door step as driver drove off (enjoy your meal) .+ rice was missing . Had to go and get it. I payed £3 delivery and 50p ser charge. NEVER AGAIN. Stay well clear

Honestly really disappointed for just under £40 for 2 people , so much oil through out onion baji where flavourless and soggy with oil, the onion salad was just raw onion with some herbs mixed in the poppadoms had a fishy taste and just crumble when trying to eat them and the bombay aloo was completly flavour less can say the mushroom pilau and spring onion pilau where both fine the korma was flavourful the madras was fine but no real taste just spicy over all a poor experience won't be returning

Havnt ordered from here for a while so a bit disappointed 2.25 for a tiny portion of about 20 small chips which were freezing cold to touch. Nearly 3 quid for garlic rice which was bland didn’t taste of anything unless you bit into the garlic. £ 15 for a meal for one which I didn’t enjoy. Let down.

Incredibly spicy, not spiced curry. One of the worst Indians I’ve ever been to; only adds chilli powder and no other spices. I’m a heat lover but a Korai but it should not be that hot. Binned it. Won’t be back!

Ordered lamb tikka balti however just normal lamb was given nd not really sure it was a balti either as not like any other balti I've had. It was more like a plain lamb curry but nice enough a guess. When a called Mizan they said would provide a free curry next time....hope they remember. Rest of the order was very nice.

We ordered our meal at 7:05 pm. We were given a delivery time between 7:50 and 8:10. Order was delivered at 9:10. While we waited, we requested an update via the app and it said we would get a callback from the restaurant within 5 mins. We tried 3 times to request a call and we did not receive any. This is the second time in a row that our JustEat order has been much later than promised. The quality of the food tonight was good but it was NOT hot. I suspect it was "out for delivery" for quite some time.

Food was late, tracking was awful, ended up not turning up at all. Restaurant owner unwilling to send replacement.

As always, first class food and service. Consistent quality and Punctual delivery. My number 1 takeaway for food. Thank you to everyone connected with Mizan.

Balti has changed in the last couple of months. Used to be colourful and tasty. Last couple of times has been pale and bland. Different chef? Definitely no longer award winning. Luckily there are other Indian takeaways in my locality.

delivery dumped at back door when asked for front door so food cold phoned restaurant and told to use microwave never use again

Minging. Food turned up almost cold, part of the order was missing. Rang up to ask where the rest was too be told, 'i packed it, it's in the bag', clearly wasn't in the bag! Then was told they'd have a word with driver when he's back at some point. Then hung the phone up. Only 2 stars because the food came in the delivery time (most of it) and they sent out what was missing. Won't be using anymore.

If this was the first time ordering from here, I 100% would not be ordering again. Ordered as a treat for our anniversary, food arrived within the delivery time, however the order was wrong with items missing and it was cold. Rang up about this, told us that he definitely packed the rice, nothing he could do about the wrong order and didn't know how long the rice would be then hung up. The chicken wasn't cooked properly and was luke warm, the chips and naan were cold and the service was shocking. They did deliver the missing rice with free poppadoms but the rice had slices of garlic in that were so big they had to be picked out. Waste of money as I left most of it due to it being cold and stale

The food came an hour late. It was then cold. I rang 5 mins after the delivery time had passed which then in turn made it cold. Won't be going back.

Terrible experience. Half an hour after my delivery window started, I telephoned the restaurant to check on my order. They said the order was on its way and put the phone down (with our even checking my name or order number!). Then when we telephoned them again an hour after the delivery window (it should be a 10 minute drive from the restaurant to my home) they said they would contact the driver and phone us back with an update. They never got back to us. When the order eventually turned up over an hour after the delivery window started, the driver didn’t even apologise and just shrugged her shoulders saying “I’m just the driver.” Worst customer service I’ve had in a long time. I will not be using this service again.
