The Kastu Curry is ALWAYS a 10/10!! I’ve had it 4 times, and it gets better every time!

Terrible vegetarian yakisoba. Tasted more like bad Italian spaghetti than Japanese yakisoba. Would’ve been happy paying £10 for the portion size… if it was edible.

Consistent delicious sushi. Great karaage and pumpkin croquettes too. (Fully halal which is bonus!)

This is going to be my new go-to for sushi! Great quality for a really affordable price and a ton of variety. I grabbed one of the premade combo boxes for only £12. It had 5 pieces of sashimi, 4 nigiri, and 4 pieces of a maki roll. Everything was delicious Next time I’ll try some of the made to order items, at the cashier’s recommendation

Worst "karaage" ive ever had.. can hardly be called karaage it was just poorly fried, tasteless, undercooked chicken. and why was it bright orange ???

Very good place to visit however it’s bit too expensive. The portions where big, but money could be saved with less rice for example. The packaging of takeout is great as it kept the temperature perfectly

Great value sushi. We ordered the 48 piece platter, and each piece was delicious. A surprising amount of fish as well considering the price. Much cheaper than some other sushi places. Really recommended!

Mitsuryu never disappoints me, I always order katsu curry, it’s also steaming hot and fresh. Taste is a 10. The portion fills you up. The only thing that’s a little sad is I feel it’s a tiny bit expensive and they could reduce it. The rest top 10 service. I recommend it, must try katsu curry

Lovely food. I had the vegetarian sushi box and seaweed which was delicious. Fresh ingredients and very well made. My friend has a chicken katsu curry which he said was delicious and the portion is very generous. Highly recommended

I chose this restaurant after reading the reviews that the dishes were beautifully presented and the ingredients were abundant. I had been losing weight for a month and wanted to indulge myself in a good meal, so I specially chose this restaurant with the intention of eating a lot. I didn’t expect that the food that came out had no taste at all. Why don’t you put some sauce in it? Tell me if you need soy sauce, you can put it in yourself. If I eat this rice, what soy sauce should I put on it? I felt bad every time I took a bite, and after a third of it I couldn't eat it anymore. It tasted so bad. If you go here, be sure to pay attention to recent reviews, not those from a few years ago, because they are completely different. A few years ago it was hearty, perfectly paired, and full of sauce, but now it’s just a few vegetables and a pile of rice 😓 It’s too unpalatable. Please improve food quality. Food tasteless and unpalatable.

I get the salmon with rice quite often together with sashimi. They do sushi better than the actual sushi restaurants. It’s always delicious!

I placed an ordered via Uber eats at around 18 o clock, 2 drivers went to pick it up and the app showed that they waited for ages to collect the order (they had enoughof waiting and I can'tblame them).. the delivery hour kept being pushed from 19.20 to 19.30 to 20.00 and 20.10... at 20 they canceled my order. No apologies, no discount or anything, horrible service.

Their sushi is to die for. So many options, chose the spicy crab roll, and was exactly to my liking. Would love to try their other options too. Highly recommend.

I left 1 star 2 years ago, now i come back to give 5 stars because their food are nicer and as fresh as always which comes along with better service. Staffs there are nice and friendly. My regular favourite meals are beef kuwayaki steak and salmond teriyaki.

Your “sushi” looks awful Guys, you have a really good photo on a delivery, but actually I received tiny sushi and it looks unappetizing and sloppy!!

Thanks for wasting my money folks, but at lear you managed to hire a good photographer that made some very nice pictures when in real life its just a junky roll :(

Customer service was disgusting, woman told me to shut up, after getting our order entirely wrong, did not offer any official help and said it was our fault we got the order wrong (which we didn't because we have a receipt) Genuinely hope the calls are recorded and that she gets fired.

I'm really surprised that this sushi place is highly rated ! I ordered two veggie combos and almost everything was wrong about it: the rice was not tasty, the spicy sushis were way too salty, the seaweed was super elastic and so hard to chew on. As a person who really enjoys sushis I am really disappointed and would not recommend.

Ordered avocado maki, not fresh avocado. Salmon dragon roll with prawn was very dry and hard. Takoyaki balls were tasteless and veggie gyosas over fried. Katsu curry rice overcooked. Not happy with this take away at all!! Also quite expensive. Never again

Staff are very unprofessional Ask to have a delivery go out together as the Uber eats app had a issue and only 1 item was on order after confirmation when we ordered two items, called the restaurant they said they will help and they can see are Order is still there and will hold it so we can place a second order to get our food together, 3mins after our 2nd order was confirmed Uber eat sent a notification saying out first order was on its way, we called the restaurant back straight away and got the same girl claiming that the new staff member answered the phone earlier (lie) and that they can't do anything as this is a Uber issue. We wouldn't have placed the 2nd order if they couldn't hold it! 2nd order arrives and the Uber ticket had the note we placed on it saying to add to first order, they even had two copies of it. Even more unhelpful was Uber eats customer service as again without checking or another lie from restaurant saying they have already made are 2nd order and unable to cancel it.

Staff is wonderful and allowed me to customise my order. Food is delicious. Will definitely come back again.

I have ordered a portion of prawn tempura and a spicy salmon with rice. They came with a very big portion and salad as a side.I like both of them yummy and fresh.

I was so happy to find a traditional Japanese halal, yeah you read it right, halal, restaurant with tatamis and a great service that knowing it is now closed definitely brings a tear to my little palate and eye. À pity really, they were so beautiful in their uniforms and the food was such a treat. I'll miss them.

Well gutted they changed the place. Food was good, service was good (the Japanese ladies were on-point, the younger staff were polite and courteous too). Price was alright. Was a busy place when I used to go, so I'm saddened that they've decided to changed. What a shame! And no longer halal, which is a bummer. There goes the halal Japanese place in Chinatown *sigh*

Really a good surprise, we were looking for a place to eat in China town and there we came across a Japanese restaurant which serves dishes at an affordable price (around 10 euros if you take the menu) and whose meat is Halal. I loved it and if I go back to London, I would definitely visit again 😊😊.

Best Japanese restaurant in Chinatown!

This place is lovely and offers authentic Japanese food. Price is very reasonable. Bit of a long wait for food

Groupon offer was blinding. Stuffed with quality and a glass of red to boot. Bought another. Got salmon belly/ chicken teriyaki, sides beef taki something and sashimi salad.

Lovely little find, food was good and plenty of it! Kids loved sitting on the floor in a traditional manor. Price wasn’t bad either definitely worth a visit.

Left this restaurant very happy and full from our meal! The portions were bigger than we expected too. The decor inside was so lovely and the staff were great. Can’t wait to come back here again!

Poor service, more to do with the management than the staff.

We discovered this place by accident as it's quite hidden and not in the main part of Chinatown. The decor is simple, the service is nice and quick and the food delicious. You can create your own menu by choosing from a lot of good and effortable options. For a takeaway dessert, they have a bakery directly connected to the restaurant. They also take card payment which doesn't seem to be too common in Chinatown.

Cozy and authentic atmosphere... delicious and well prepared food

Had great sushi and plum wine for a reasonable price. Staff was very friendly, even though it was obvious that they had just recently opened the restaurant and don't have the working experience yet. Definitely recommend going there.

Great tasting food - service was good and quick - we all left happy and content at the end - what more can you ask? The beef dishes were delicious as was the Chicken Katsu Curry - the chilled Oolong tea was refreshing and a good accompaniment to the meal. Can't wait to go back and try something else!

Bright, modern restaurant with a reasonably priced menu and fairly good taste. Portion sizes were good and the tea was topped up. Service was friendly too.

We had been to the body worlds and the boy wanted sushi... so we found this Mitsuryu. Hux stood up tonwatch the dude making some and ended up behind the counter helping and serving the ladies their take away ... great. Then we ate and wowzers filling and blinking blonking yummmmm

Teishyoku (dinner set) idea is good but poorly executed. Karaage chicken was rock sold and over cooked. Miso soup was salty and cold. Taste of other dishes were mediocre. Service was extremely slow it took 30mins for them to take our order and like another 30mins before the water arrived.

Have been four times now and this place is quickly becoming my new favourite restaurant in London. You can get an incredible chicken katsuni, rice, miso and a side dish for £11. Who can argue with that? Friendly and efficient staff, nice atmosphere.

Traditional Japanese with lounges with coffee tables. Very good, excellent value for money and beautiful quality frame.

Amazing meal loved it. Used a Groupon and reserved a table on the phone. Arrived and were told we couldn't use Groupon on that day. Eventually we were allowed to use code so a bit confusing but excellent food highly reccomended.

It's a pity that impossible to give zero stars. We visited with friends, waited for an hour for our food. Than we were served after people who came much later than us. No explanations, no warnings about delay. The staff is rude and incompetent. If you want to lose your time and money, visit it.

We were seated in traditional japanese area. Food was delicious, and staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Food was good, however my stir fried beef turned cold by the time it reached the table. Service was a bit hit and miss, at times it felt great. And other times we had to ask for things multiple times, including one of the items ordered.

This is the type of restaurant that makes you come back again and again. Amazing, traditional Japanese food at reasonable,cheap prices. I have not tried the sushi (as I do not like sushi in general) but my friends loved it. Fresh and tasty as well. The tatami mat room is a nice addition to the already classy, simple designed restaurant. The staff is really friendly and welcoming as well. Definitely a place that is a must-go when you come to London. Especially Chinatown.

Food is good that is not in dispute customer service is the bone of contention , it claims it offers authentic Japanese dining which is far from the truth as the majority of the serving staff are not Japanese and any one who has been to Japan knows what high standards they demand from their waiting staff it does not deserve the high ratings one can assume.management the owners are posting positive reviews, the food is good to a point their premier starters are bland and unexciting and not worth the money the staff are rude and ignorant about customer service, frankly this restaurant is an insult to authentic Japanese dining experience so if you want relatively cheap food and terrible customer service go for it just don't complain when the waiting staff ignore you and bring out your starter 20 minutes into your main. If you want authentic Japanese go to Old Compton Street reasonably priced good service and good food.

The service was rapid, food took ages to come out. The food was okay. They tried to kick us out when we haven’t even sat at the table for an hour yet. They are new but not busy, they should work and value their customer service more.

I love this place, food and sushi are so good here! They have a great menu and good price. The restaurant itself is very tiny but theres a very cozy area were u need to take your shoes off before entering.

I had a platter of nigiri and uramaki along with tamagoyaki and their miso soup. The sushi was fresh (although I wish the chef spread the wasabi himself) and the egg was delicious at the end of the meal. Really authentic experience and food, and a nice tea room in the middle which I’m not sure how you access.

I do not understand how this has such a high rating. It was average at best. Mine was poor and barely edible but my friends said theirs were alright but just OK. Service was average too. Guy serving us was not interested in the least.

Lovely sushis ! Nearly day one customer and still satisfied ! Usually take away but even on site it's a pure madness. On take away I only take classics like California or sushis, but on site the menu is gorgeous. Tried tempura (which is usually a deceptive meal in restaurant) and it was perfectly done ! Staff is really friendly, even the cooks :) Keep up the good work guys.

Very authentic Japanese place, firstly all the meat is halal which is great for me, prices are very reasonable and they have a few set menu deals which are very cheap. The food is delicious and is very filling, its a small cosy place, no queue when I went but I can imagine it can get quite busy. There's a lot to choose from so I'll have to go again but this time I went for a sushi set

They serve set set meals and a la carte sushi. You get to choose a main, a side and everything comes with rice and miso soup. Some sides choices cost an extra £1 or £2. Food nice and fresh. However the fish for the sushi is precut and resting in the cooler. This is bad, as it dries out the fish and loses flavour. My salmon sashimi and nigiri was dry and getting translucent due to the fact that it was precut. Also the chicken katsuni sauce is extremely sweet, like syrup. Apart from that the rest of the food is good. It's a small place and can get busy. Overall service and food are good. Prices are decent for most things, but not for the sushi.

As someone who used to live in Japan for a couple of years, I can without a doubt say that Mitsuryu is one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in London, and at an unbeatable price at that! I've already been twice, and am planning to make many more visits. From the tempura, mackerel, and to the sukiyaki, this is a must-try if you're in Chinatown. The service is absolutely fantastic as well. If you make a reservation, by all means sit in the tatami room on the bean bags if that's your jam.

The place is cozy, the price is worthy for the food. I recommend you to buy the set menu contains rice, main dishes, and sides. You will love this place.

A friendly Japanese waitress speaking to a customer outside drew us in. The food was very tasty, I especially enjoyed the eel and the takoyaki and it was reasonly priced for the quality/quantity compared to other places around Central London. As others mentioned, nice (and surprising) to see this kind of place in Chinatown. I’m sure we’ll return to try some more dishes!

The food is decent but not remarkable and the atmosphere is very dry, almost like a school canteen.

Incredible food and excellent service.

Food is good, but one female staff asked us :” Are you Taiwan?” As soon as we said yes, she just went away without saying anything , leaving us confused. After that, we found she could speak fluent China with Chinese accent.

This place was amazing, some of the best miso we have had and the spider roll was awesome. Tuna plate was also very good. They take reservations as well, which we recommend for a smooth and easy experience. The menu was also the best user experience I have ever seen at a sushi/Japanese restaurant, well organized and easy to understand for less experienced sushi eaters (pics for all items).

Very good value! Ordered the chicken curry katsu meal with a side for £12 (It would've been £10 only if I didn't choose the more expensive side), the chicken katsu is very crispy and the curry sauce is exactly what I wanted - Japanese style sweet curry not spicy at all, the portion is quite big too, we also ordered the dragon rolls which is also good at a reasonable price!

The food is great value for money, especially given the location. The decor was nice and the service was decent too. The ingredients had a lot of flavour, I could tell they were fresh.

This place seems to be opened and ran by Chinese people (with the occasional white waitress), undermining its authenticity which other reviewers applaud. Two of us visited on a Saturday night. It wasn’t very busy but it actually took 30 minutes before our first dish arrived (it was only a sushi roll, not something that requires long preparation!) The crunchy spicy tuna roll was mediocre. Nothing special at all. It was just spicy tuna avocado uramaki, topped with fried shallots and some unagi-like sauce. 35 minutes in and the only thing we were served was the crunchy spicy tuna roll. No explanation, nothing. I looked around - most people seem to be getting hot dishes. There are two chefs at the sushi bar. Not sure why it took so long. I reached out to one of the waiters explaining that two of our dishes are missing. Two other waiters came soon after - I had to explain again. Clearly, cmmunication is poor between the staff. The manager eventually came over 15 minutes after my complaint, and knocked the final dish off our bill. To conclude, it took forever to get our food. The food was of average quality. I would advise again their sushi rolls, they are bland. I don’t think I will be back.

Great Japanese restaurant in Central London. There are loads of Japanese restaurant in London, but it's quite hard to find good one, especially for Japanese people. But this restaurant is amazing. Taste is real Japanese, Sashimi is very fresh, big and reasonable, All staff is friendly. I definitely come back. Apparently it's a newly opened Japanese restaurant. The menu includes home-cooked dishes such as cutlet curry, salt-grilled mackerel, and grilled ginger, and the taste is very close to Japan. The sashimi was fresh, big and surprising! I will visit you again soon.

Authentic Japanese Food at moderate price! I had the Tako Yaki with the Tempura Soba and it was amazing, never ever had noodle just like it! The Broth was Superlative!

We were looking for a Japanese restaurant near Leicester Square and saw this new restaurant. They had a 25% off offer since it is new. The staff was super friendly, the food was quickly served and delicious and the value for money was excellent. To do and redo!

Came here after hearing about a 25 percent off opening offer. Table of four, having the main + side + miso deal (no drink) came to just under £50, normally would be around £65-70. We all had cooked dishes, so don't necessarily have an opinion about the sushi and sashimi, but came away with the feeling that portion sizes we're a bit on the small size if we were paying full price. Quality was okay, nothing terrible but nothing standout either. When comparing value for money I think you can get more food from a dim sum restaurant elsewhere in Chinatown or slightly better quality and quantity Japanese food at another popular on the other side of Shaftsbury ave. Maybe is the Chinatown rents... Decor seems a bit unfinished. I'm not sure if they are going for a minimalist look with white walls and exposed cheap wood, but everything looks like a work in progress. They have regular table seating and floor (tatami) available, but work could be done to make the place feel a bit more. Overall this establishment seems more geared to tourist footfall than a truely authentic experience and therefore ranks around mid table for the Chinatown area.
