We have been staying in the area and picked the Glazert Hotel for our last night meal out. It looks great on the website. We got dressed up and headed over. We were given a table in the bar area and after putting in our order we were then given place mats and cutlery to put out ourselves (we weren’t a walk in, I booked a week ago). The food arrived within 20 minutes and was average. The childrens meals are very small. No one came to see how we were at any point. No one came to take another drinks order or offer us a dessert menu and we had to go to the bar in the end to pay. There was no nice conversation with the staff. We felt very much like we were not welcome. There were several local people who came in and were treated very differently. This was a big disappointment at the end of a lovely week when we have had some fabulous meals in Kirkintilloch and lovely lunches at the cafes in Lennoxtown. A real shame as the reviews I’d read before booking were really positive.

We were delighted to return to Glazert Country House’s restaurant. Covid precautions were in place, making it a very safe experience. The food was delicious as always, starters of paté, soup, and haggis tower were lovely. For main course, my haddock was really fresh, and the goat’s cheese salad and Highland Burger got top marks, and we couldn’t resist the vanilla cheesecake. The young waiting staff are a great asset to the restaurant, providing pleasant and efficient service. Thank you.

Another lovely meal here after the relaxing of Covid restrictions. Staff followed all distancing guidelines, and plenty of hand sanitiser was available. The food was as good as ever, with steak pie, macaroni, mussels, and haggis neeps and tatties all getting top marks. Sticky toffee pudding and caramel shortcake were also excellent. Definitely recommend a visit.

Ce restaurant ouvre le bal de nos vacances avec ravissement. Un service fort aimable et très sympathique. Et les plats proposés sont largement satisfaisants en qualité et quantité. Bref, un repas vraiment plaisant.

We were surprised how busy the car park was when we arrived, but quickly realised that there was a function on in the hotel. As well as a set menu the restaurant has a pretty extensive a la cartel menu. All dishes were very reasonably priced, with the set menu particularly good value. We were quickly shown to our table by a friendly member of staff and our drinks soon arrived. All seemed well ,when our starters arrived, all went down well both in taste and presentation. There was a bit of a wait for our mains, but it was worth it as all were very good. Our choices included sea bass ( from the specials), chicken pie, haggis and macaroni. Things went a bit wrong after that with a considerable wait before we were eventually advised (with appropriate apologies) that one of our choices had sold out. However we still enjoyed our deserts and particularly appreciated the offer of free tea or coffee because of the delay. It’s a good measure of a place that offers a form of compensation without being asked. I’m fairly sure the delay was down to the added pressure of a private function at the same time as the restaurant was busy. We’d be happy to return again, preferably when there isn’t a function on though!

My friend and I had excellent service and scoff here yet again. I was particularly impressed by our lovely wee waitress ( sadly can't remember her name, but she has Campsie relatives!) . She remembered all my friend's dietary requirements ( they are many!), and even came to ask if olive bread was a suitable replacement for her customary bread! I was much easier to please, and my steak pie was excellent. No room for pud ( two bottles of rosé Pinot Grigio, also remembered by waitress, might have had something to do with it!) If I were being hypercritical, the ( frozen) chips were a wee bit overdone, but the friendliness and efficiency of Paul and his staff more than made up for it.

Travelled 15 miles to dine here for the first time for an evening meal with family. Family members enjoyed fish & chips and a chicken burger. I had grilled salmon. My meal was just average, nothing special. Presentation was boring. The single jumbo brocolli florette on my plate was tough. Pricing was fair/typical for what we ordered. Waiter was pleasant but left table far too long after removing dinner plates. In the middle of our meal what sounded like drilling began in the wall above our heads and continued for two minutes! We dined in the conservatory, which was cold. We hadn't noticed the room temperature at the beginning but over the duration of our meal two in our party became increasingly chilled. Dessert (pavlova) was delicious and nicely presented.

I have reviewed this restaurant and hotel several times, last March I think, but once again the food and the service are of top quality. Staff are great and open to a bit of a carry on as I am a notorious "wind up" merchant. It was my sister-in-law's birthday and the menu, while not being expansive, had a good choice. Our meals were Haggis Neeps & Tatties, Highland Burger and a couple of Battered Haddock ... all were great and I even got an over 60 discount! Be back soon.

Good food at very good prices - and served with a smile. Complements to the chef as the food was fresh, warm and delicious - upmarket pub food - really worth a visit. You can eat in the bar, we chose the restaurant - same food same prices and quieter surroundings- lots to choose from with fixed price menu, an a la carte and chef's specials - all excellent.

My wife and I were married in the Glazert 4 years ago and, if we could, we would have awarded 500 stars. Everything about that day was perfect, the ceremony, staff, food, service, and establishment were better than we could have hoped for. Whilst not regular visitors we neverthless pop in about 4 or 5 times a year for a meal, but after experiencing a slow decline in standards of service and particularly of the food, we have now decided not to return. Our last visit was to celebrate my wife's birthday and after waiting about 40 minutes from ordering our meal, to actually being served, we were extremely disappointed to be served greasy, overcooked fish along with partially cooked frozen chips. A complaint to the manager did not result in an improved service for dessert; I actually had to go to the bar to order this. I cannot accept the excuse that the one member of waiting staff was busy as there were only 3 other tables for meals occupied. We were previously happy to pay extra for food in the Glazert as the standard was excellent, but we can get the same substandard food for half the price at any Wetherspoon's. Sorry Paul, we won't be back.

We were visiting Glazert Country House yet again for a function for around 40 people, and some of us were having a meal beforehand. Fish and chips and macaroni cheese were delicious, and we only had room for ice cream afterwards. The function itself was beautifully catered for by all the staff. Top marks yet again.

We visited the restaurant last night for family celebration. The attention we received from staff was excellent both in bar area and also the restaurant. The meal is still being talked about today it was so good as you would have known by the empty plates from everybody .I would recommend the Glazert Country House and I know that our Canadian friend is extolling the virtues on Facebook

We have been visiting Glazert Country House for many years for meals and " hatches, matches, and dispatches", but I have never written a review. Every function we have attended has been excellent, and Paul, Debbie, and Mark have made sure everything goes smoothly. The most recent occasion was a lovely dinner in the conservatory for a friend's birthday, and once again they came up trumps.Paul was there to welcome us, and kept his eagle eye on things throughout the evening. The room and table settings were lovely, and the delightful staff looked after us well, topping up glasses and generally seeing that everything was okay. Our menu had four choices for each course, and, judging by the number of empty plates being taken away, everyone enjoyed their food! I had delicious haggis balls to start, and the soup, pâté, and mushroom bruschetta around us also got top marks. My steak pie was, as usual, delicious, and accompanied by loads of vegetables and roast and new potatoes. I also sneaked a wee taste of my friend's chicken and black pudding in leek sauce, which was very tasty. I managed the sticky toffee pudding, and a wee taste of Himself's apple fritter stack, both lovely. The attention to detail here really pays off, and if you are organising a function, Paul's advice is invaluable ( I'm sure the others' is too, but I've only dealt with Him!) Well done to all.

Having been at a celebratory birthday meal, a few of us opted for the burger. It looked lovely and tasted lovely too. The next day, all the party members who had the burger were hit with an attack of the tummyrumbles. It must have been the burger as it was the common theme. Everyone else wasn't affected but it's not pleasant to have to spend the following day making sure you were in close proximity of a toilet!!!

A nice place for an evening meal. There was four in our party and we were seated promptly and served drinks quickly. A short review of a wonderfully limited but connected menu and we all picked the same dish with variations. The haggis bons bons were the bomb! As was the tempura prawn.

Staff are friendly, take away and restaurant are always busy. Good selection of food on the menu and always tastes great. Same with their Ice-cream. Only thing I personally don't like is the fact they now allow dogs in the front restaurant.
