Medium cod was pitiful.. glad I didn't go small... I'm fact I'm crying and feel ripped off. The battered sausage was bigger.. gutted

Sorry to have to say but we had fish an chips from you on Thurs eve and it was the worst I've eaten for a long time it was very greasy the batter was under cooked and not fluffy and crispy like it has been before the chips also very greasy I'm sorry to say we won't be returning to you ......

Had a change of ownership over the last couple years..so the quantity of the portions of chips is questionable some times All in all not a bad child shop with all what ud expect from a chip shop 😏

Lovely chips and crabs claws, friendly staff

The food is always fresh, hot and never greasy. The portions are a perfect size. Also a great range to choose from. They are also always very clean and very polite friendly staff. I have found it's always best to call first then collect. This also benefits from a lovely solid ramp on the entrance. Although space is tight it is accessible for mobility restricted people too.

Clean establishment, friendly staff but Sorry to say, my food wasn't that great. Chips looked & tasted like they were re-cooked from the day before. The rotisserie chicken was very bland, just about cooked. Sadly I won't be returning.

We have had 3 meals in the past month and every time have had upset stomach

Strangest taste of food, the cod was over cooked, the scampi did not taste of scampi and the chips tasted very strange. Thinking there’s something that’s tainted the oil. Quick service but think I’ll not bother again as second time it’s tasted odd. Also accused I hadn’t eaten there tonight when leaving the review. No wonder it was empty on New Year’s Eve

Absolutely awful. Unable to give it the preferred zero stars. Not sure how they were able to make chips and plaice taste of nothing ! Batter over cooked. In a box, so did not see until home.

We have recently moved locally and now tried all the fish and chip shops around Lawford, Mistley and Manningtree. We have settled on this one as our favourite and the best! The fish and the batter are AMAZING!!! Having had the cod and haddock, it is beautifully cooked, lovely and meaty (NOT dry, "super fishy 🤢" or overcooked). We have been here a few times now, the food is consistent, piping hot and tasty. We order ahead. Pay by contactless. The social distancing and their PPE attire is good. Everywhere is clean and tidy. Great pricing. What's not to love! It's our regular! Recommend 👍

Absolutely delicious fish and chips. Nicely boxed and packaged for takeaway. Currently operating covid friendly ordering where you get a number and are called back in when your food is ready. Fish was crispy and tasty. Huge portion of chips and all really crispy and fluffy

Really lovely staff, great food... I have seen a couple of reviews complaining about the quality... all I can say is I think people have been unlucky... I have had fish & chips three times over last few weeks and the quality has been really good every time... great that it’s open again....

The fish was cooked beautifully and this restaurant has great potential however the chips were undercooked and soggy. The batter was also undercooked and not crispy, very poor textures when eating. Everything should be slightly more golden and cooked for longer

Tasty food, friendly staff and quick service

After hearing really good reviews I went here a few weeks back and what I can say is the fish was watery and under cooked as where the chips. Such a shame as I like to support local businesses but I will not visit again. But good luck with your business

Haven't been to this fish shop for years but heard through a friend it was under new owners and was very good i was not disappointed best ive had for a long time shall be going back shortly.
