Such a shame as used to be lovely. Service was poor and food was just terrible. So overpriced and toast was burnt. Had to ask several times for desert menu then another customer ended up getting the waitress’ attention as nobody came back to take our order. Just didn’t feel welcoming. So overpriced too for what we ordered. Would not go back. Went there because I thought it would be a nice place to take my elderly parents for afternoon tea. HUGE disappointment.

Marples is our go to place. We have been going here for 25 years. The food is excellent and the staff are welcoming and always pleased to see us. We started going with my mum and dad, who are no longer with us. They looked after them especially when they were getting older and things were harder for them. Since we lost them we have been equally well looked after. We usually book but if we don't they try their very best to accommodate us. This is our favourite place in Cleethorpes, it is our home from home. Here's to another 25 years.

Very unfriendly and poor service 😢 don't seem to care or be familiar however many times you book or give them your custom. A staff member told us that the boss is horrible to them and pay not good that's why the staff always lack enthusiasm. Food is good, chef always consistent. Shame about the hospitality.

Little gem that fits right in situated on Seaview Street, an ever popular refined area of Cleethorpes. Great breakfasts, cakes and coffee. Busy so if you want a meal, best to book.

Arrived today to be rudely told it was drinks only as they stop serving food at 4pm even though open until 5pm! When I pointed out it wasn’t even 4pm yet, she shrugged her shoulders and ‘there’s still no food’. Delightful young lady to have front of house, we don’t think!!

I went with a friend and she recommended the risotto which on this day was salmon and prawn and she was so right to choose it as it was really delicious and tasty, we both had it so can not give a opinion on other food , but seeing what was coming out to be served did look yummy 😊 The staff were friendly and attentive and I would highly recommend a visit.

I suppose it's down to the fact that (almost) every menu now has ridiculously pompous and over the top descriptions of the food that I read the menu (just simply and honestly described food) and was a bit worried about what to expect. My Haddock and chips was very obviously freshly prepared and cooked to prefection - a real treat. Service was speedy and friendly. We were very impressed overall - good food, good value and nice people - what more can one ask for?

From the outside it looks a bit dull and the interior could do with brightening up. It was very busy though which is always a good sign. The menu is fairly straightforward and standard but the food was good and the cost reasonable rather than cheap. It is a mix of simple things like sandwiches to basic full dishes. We had no problem with the staff who were friendly and helpful. If you want good standard British food then this is a find.

Recent visit for a quick cappuccino and plum bread and tea cake. Quite a good presentation eager to please but had to be prompted to bring the cutlery. But the food which arrived was hot and tasty and quick. What was missing and did show on the waitresses was a lack of proper training in table arrangement.

I have been to this cafe many times but this is the first time n about 2 years...The staff were not very friendly...we ordered two baked potatoes with prawn and seafood sauce. The potatoes were clearly microwaved, very bland and not enough filling or sauce. We had to ask for extra sauce..the salad on the plate was scarce and at £7.50 it was not good value for money. We did tell a member of staff and she stated that most people prefer their potatoes not crunchy so the potatoes were cooked like that as a result of the customer request...I really find that hard to believe....will not be visiting again which is a shame as it used to be excellent..

Cooked frozen chips, not given a choice of rice, not asked about the complimentary Carafe of wine (had to buy one !), £3.50 for a small bottle of beer. 5* prices but not 5* food. Staff friendly nicely set but that's it. Overall average meal but vastly over priced

What a depressing morning when the sun was shining and it was nice and crispy weather outside. I missed my breakfast so I could enjoy a full wholesome breakfast. But never again in a hurry. :(the garnish was made up of few sprigs of soggy lettuce, soft pepper bits and half a cherry tomato. Panini was good but the tuna tasteless. Tried to wash it down the gullett but the latte gave me wind when there's already enough of that in Cleethorpes!

This review is for the Miss Marples Coffee House & Restaurant in Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire, England and not the one in Looe. The Coffee House where I live is lovely. Even though a small establishment, there are plenty of seats and tables, a very clean welcoming place to be on your own or meet up with friends. Great atmosphere, good selection of food, desserts and drinks. Quick friendly service from the staff and a very good treat for yourself. This place not that far from where I live in Grimsby and children are welcome - I have been here with my daugher and grandson. Good price for good food and surroundings - please try if you are able to.

This place has changed over the years, after last year (2023) I wasn't sure if I wanted to come back, but I'm glad it did. Myself and mostly Gluten Free family had lovely carvery. - Good Cleanliness - Decent Atmosphere - Nice Setup - Meat was cooked to perfection. 🤌🏻 There's were however a things that wasn't particularly great... - I was the only person in the line for a carvery and I watched 12 minutes go by. - The roast potatos were VERY crispy. - No more refillable drinks! I got very annoyed standing there, I have a blue badge due to my disability and my lordosis wasn't doing great but I managed. I know people that wouldn't be able to manage that kind of wait which could take away their independence. Admittedly I only had one roast potato, I like to think I pick the ones that look the best and look fluffy. But the texture and taste wasn't great. Could have been a bad pick, bad batch or just a bad day. I have really enjoyed them in the past. For a refillable drink it only cost 15p more than a regular pint of pop. 😬 So I was shocked to find that there is no more refillable.

Sourdough with starter was like a rock, tried to cut, all over the table. Main course fish was average. Main course was lukewarm, cous cous was cold and clumpy, flat bread was like cardboard, salad was fine! Expensive, didn’t complain but would never return or recommend
