Miso - Beckenham in Bromley

Always order from there sometimes i go in there too, foods always great and the waiters are really friendly. They're always on time or earlier when I order and the food is always coming in large quantities. One of the best places to eat or order from at Beckenham for sure. The rice is beautiful and so are the noodles. Very tasty.

Excellent food, well priced and lovely service! I have visited multiple times and will visit many more.

Quite a gem in the heart of Beckenham

The food is great. One dish could easily be for two people. Unfortunately the service is really bad, like any other European place. Be prepared for rudeness.

The staff are so attentive and friendly. Portions are plentiful and delicious too.

For what we paid for 2 people. we would of expected more than 3 pieces of tofu each. Probably won't go again

We love Miso in Beckenham. We regularly get a home delivery of dim sum and other dishes and have never been disappointed. For the first time, today, we visited the restaurant to eat in. The meal, not dim sum this time, was delicious and filling and served quickly. The staff were friendly and attentive and we had a great time. Looking forward to the next home delivery or visit to eat in.

One of the better restaurants to eat in Beckenham. Food is good and fresh, you’re not rushed to eat your food. Sweet-and-sour chicken and rice is really good so are the Bento boxes. Staff are nice and very helpful.

This review is for takeaway: I ordered 3 items from Miso Beckenham yesterday via Uber Eats and the quality was awful. The Pad Thai was oily and tasteless. The Prawn Kare Lo Mein was equally bad, if not worse. The soup base tasted mainly of coconut cream powder, the noodles was soaked and soggy, the prawns were overcooked and the tofu was sour. The deep fried squid was mediocre. I contacted the restaurant today to complain and yet to hear back from the manager and no apologies were given from the staffs. I think my 40 pounds would be better off spent somewhere else. 2 nights ago, my neighbour ordered from Miso Bromley and the quality was so much better. I did not know that the quality will differ so significantly between the 2 restaurants of the same name and menu, clearly different management. I will never order from this restaurant again. It is difficult to support local when the quality of the food is so disappointing.

Friendly and fast service. Large portions of good dishes. Can only be recommended.

Great food and super friendly service.

Nice, attentive waitress. Squid starter was tasty and a decent sized portion. Could have had better heating (in the winter) but on the whole, would recommend this venue to others and like to return there too!

As mentioned by others, the staff are too attentive and ruin the moment by constantly staring. You barely finish a dish when it's removed from your hands. Also, the food wasn't as it used to be. Very disappointing trip.

Lovely food, but the staff not so... if you plan to come just for a quick meal an hour before closing you will be treated like an intruder. Overall don't recommend in the evenings. Better order a takeaway (mind you, portions are smaller then eat in).

Poor, very poor. Terrible cooking: food had no flavour, the tofu was dried out and one dish didn't represent was written on the menu. Add to that, it was expensive. Do yourself a favour, stick to burger and chips; you get better value fogr your money and it will taste better. Totally unacceptable food.

Got a takeaway as looked uncomfortable to sit in and no atmosphere. Tofu main dish had only three pieces of tofu - it was all just tasteless stodgy rice. No flavour to the dish whatsoever. Overpriced but moreover extremely disappointing. Unfortunately I have to say don't bother.

The food is lovely however majority of the time the staff are abit too pushy and stare at you while you’re having your meal . Very awkward and they make you feel uncomfortable but I love this place . Please sort this out as I don’t want to stop coming here

I'm afraid standards have slipped. The "fried rice" was more like boiled rice with egg, the rice hadn't even charred and no evidence of soy sauce. Also the portion of lemon chicken was inadequate.

We ordered chips and they didn't have mayonnaise sauce nor ketch up when asked for ketch up they bought a bowl full of something sweet and charged 3 GBP for that and on asking we didn't order this they told to please take it to home as take away. Didn't like their service but the dumpling was good and rice was less spicy. Over all expected more seeing the review but was not at all satisfied with the service offered

Pad Thai prawns a bit hot for my taste.

We spoke to them about allergies and they were brilliant. They talked through the menu with us to let us know what options we had and alternatives they could provide. We explained we couldn't have any cross contamination and they assured us everything would be cooked separately to ensure it was allergy free. It was so reassuring and the meal was delicious.

Today I had dried beef noodles for lunch. It was delicious, filling with energy, and a big dish. The beef was soft and delicious. The rice noodles were very smooth. I will try it again next time when I have time.

I came in for an early dinner and left with an experience. The staff were so pleasant and joyful even cracking a few jokes along the way 🤣. The food was tastyyyy. Will definitely be back.

I think the menu is wide ranging but fairly simple Asian dishes. We enjoyed our meals but I think it was quite expensive for simple Asian dishes that typically cost less elsewhere. We will return though as there are plenty of tasty and different dishes on the menu.

While it might be comparable to a nice meal at a nice pub price-to-quantity-wise, I would expect much better for the quality of the food. I have had much better, for cheaper. Even as a white dude raised in an English environment with no training cooking Asian food I could cook the same better at home for cheaper without hassle. I had the Malay bento box. Advertised as a complete vegetarian meal it seemed to lack much protein pieces beyond a few finger-sized pieces of fried tofu. Spicing was pretty bland and the spring rolls very basic. It was all pretty boring. Staff could improve their listening, seating, placement of dishes, and receiving payment. It was awkward. The owner(s) should hold on their expansions and improve what they've already got.

I went Saturday after leg surgery, we ordered 2 starts , drinks and 3 miso extra meals (noodles and meat ) I've eaten here many times and order the same each time however this time the starters were beautiful but our mains were awful drenched in dark soya sauce and the meats were full of fat I had two mouthfuls and the other two people had one mouthful and couldn't have no more . I asked the manager what was the sauce as it's never like this he abruptly said soy I said we can't eat it as it's not good and asked for our bill he took the plates aggressively and gave the bill I said we will pay for our starters and drink but we sent back 3 full bowles off food he said if we don't pay he will call the police, I had my legs covered in bandages and having to use a wheel chair I explained it was awful and he see the bowles didn't look touched and that we gonna go across to the pub to eat as it was terrible he refused to talk to me and tried to speak to the male in the group to get him to pay . I said about 5x we are not paying for food we couldn't eat and he's attitude was discusting he then said just go . I think he wanted us to walk so he can call the police I then left the money for our starters and drink then left. That restaurant has definitely changed I think there meat must not of been as fresh so smothered it in soy as it's usually never like that and I'll never go again the manager was so unprofessional

Ordered food for collection, we asked to have cutlery with our food and she didnt give us sufficient cutlery. She gave me a spoon to eat with my noodles. The food seemed like it was microwaved I dont know if its because we ordered for collection and maybe thats why we didnt get the same quality of food. The lady continuously gave us attitude, when the restaurant was completely empty. I wont be coming here again

The food here never disappoints, portions are large and service is fast and friendly too. Grab a seat by the window and watch the world go by Beckenham High St. I've been here many times over many years, and the standards have never changed. Keep up the good work, I'll be returning soon.

Consistently high quality food.

We were a bit adamant to go inside as there was no customers in there, but there were a lot of takeaway delivery drivers coming and going. We have had takeaway quite a few times and it was lovely, so thought why not try a dine in experience. There's no music, so it's a bit quiet and there's drivers coming and going. However, the food is delicious and the service was great too. The 8 dishes that we ordered came within 10 - 15 minutes of ordering which was great. Would definitely eat there again!

I have been visiting this restaurant on a semi-regular basis for many years and have always had a good meal from the varied and original menu. The food is served fairly quickly as the secret of Chinese cuisine is to cook very hot, very quickly. Service is good and the staff attentive but not sycophantic. Will be returning again.

Ordered via deliveroo, food was not fresh, tasted like it had been sitting in the kitchen all day…I ordered noodles, which were clumped together and too salty, awful…I spoke to Lou in the Beckenham branch who was extremely unhelpful and very rude, I would recommend he rethinks he’s customer service skills as he isn’t giving the company a very good reputation!

From Canada. Visited this establishment while visiting relatives in the UK. Food is a variety of Asian and was reasonably authentic with some Western influences to cater to the market. Was able to order some classical Cantonese food not found on the menu as the staff spoke Cantonese.

Always happy here. Nothing that will blow your mind, but consistent and large menu, great, fast and efficient service

Staff are great and the speed at which they can serve up a menu is good. Overall this restaurant delivers on speed and food in a hurry but compromises on flavour in areas where you may not expect. That being said, unless you fancy Thai then there is nowhere else to eat in Beckenham. Feedback: I think the food served can be too oily in the case of Beef Ho Fun, and in particular to that dish, the beansprouts honestly should be raw but left on top as they're crunchy and add to the texture and colour. The extra oil absorbs the flavour, so sadly I didn't taste the rich aroma of my favourite childhood dish. As for the vegetarian option, it was unfinished as it was tomato sauce on noodles with semi cooked vegetables. You could tell its one of the least ordered things by the lack of confidence in execution. There isn't much choice for vegetarians in Asian cooking, and the search for a good dish continues in spite of Miso Noodle Bar's attempt.

Friendly staff. Good portion sizes which have a lot of taste great value for money was willing to change up a menu for my mom aswell who is a fussy eater and she loved it aswell.

Been here 3 times now and every time has been the same.. food ok (but comes out so quick, literally 5 minutes after you order) they all stare at you waiting for you to put your fork down then they’re straight over asking if you’ve finished (even when just having a break from eating and chat with whoever you’re with) then they bring you the bill without asking. £4.95 for a bottle of beer is a joke. It’s gone very expensive for what it is and it’s so rushed with no care about your experience there just want your money.

Hi, we’ve been going to this restaurant, in Beckenham for many years . It’s always been very reasonably priced. I’m not sure if it’s because of pandemic or current cost of living but it seems to be very expensive now having gone up quite a lot recently. The food is the same love it , however it has gone really expensive for what is really a quick meal we were in and out in 40 minutes but still spent just under £50 with only one drink each, £4.95 for a bottle of beer which I feel is extortionate.

Popped in for a quick healthy lunch on a weekday, service was fast and friendly. My soup was a little bland, it would have benefitted from a few more fresh aromatics but it was filling and did the job. I'd return and try other menu items as I'm familiar with the food from this chain.

We went to Miso on Boxing Day as a group of 3 and now 2 of us have food poisoning. We ordered a range of side dishes and based on who ate what, either the prawns or the chicken dumplings (which were served room temp at best) were not prepared and cooked as they should have been. My partner has been sick for going on 3 days now with muscle aches, fever and chills. We will never eat here again.

Went for a late lunch a few weeks ago - welcoming/witty/funny customer service. Big portions of food (we couldn't finish and brought the rest home) and sides/boa buns were delicious!

Mediocre at best. Was rushed through our meal at 10pm on a Saturday. Staff had a strange sense of humour or just trying to put us off. The food was ok. Spare ribs are greasy and fatty. I doubt I would go back.

Solid Chinese/SE Asian restaurant in Beckenham. Very good for Cantonese style dishes (i.e. stir fry beef and rice noodles). Has "wok hei" (if you don't know what this is, Google will help you out). Singapore noodles is a bit off - not sure why there's a lack of tumeric seasoning like it's supposed to have (makes the noodles yellow as opposed to pink). 5 stars because it is a very good option for Chinese takeaway in Beckenham. Has a sister restaurant in Bromley town centre as well if you head in that direction.

Really tasty meal. Both filling and affordable for a restaurant setting. Staff are friendly and attentive. Nothing to really fault. I ordered roast duck with egg fried rice and sesame prawn toast.

Very nice service by the people in the restaurant. We ordered Chicken Katsu Curry, Prawn Dimpsum and Vegetable Noodles. All the items were very nice especially the curry in Chicken Katsu Curry, they give in a separate bowl which is very sufficient to have it with the rice. We would surely visit the restaurant again, when we think of having Japanese cuisine.

Better than Wagamama’s - and cheaper. The food has a delicious selection of Chinese/Thai/Japanese fusion with good portions. The wait staff were very friendly and prompt. I’d highly recommend this place.

Canteen style restaurant, clean restaurant space. It was uncomfortably hot when I visited, temperature that day was 24°C. The staff are friendly but like many places, I find after initially seating you, giving you the menu and instantly asking for your drinks order, you're suddenly invisible. And forget about trying to make eye contact with a waiter, they look anywhere except at the customers. The mains are large portions. Found the roast duck a bit chewy. Was disappointed the green tea is served in a big mug rather than a traditional teapot & cups. Reasonably priced. Bench seating.

Good service, but I haven't been able to say the same about the food for some years now - when I was child 20 years ago. Hofun noodles far too soft, and several dishes (only polite to try the food from others in the group) devoid of much flavour. I think I'm being generous with the 3 stars, but when nostalgia is involved, anything goes I suppose.

BAD SERVICE AND RUDE STAFF WORTH : 0 stars I went in at lunchtime and it was EMPTY. I was thinking great, service will be fast .Big mistake, the rude female staff was by herself and directed me to a table where it was 'really' hot on a sunny day and the sun was in my face. It wouldn't have been possible to eat hot food under the sun. I told her this and she still insist I sit there despite the place was EMPTY, Seriously?? She then said she will sort it for me ( but not by moving to another table ) but she ended up taking a takeaway customer's order instead?. Took what seems ages, it was hot and I did not have time to mess about during my lunch break.It seemed like it was too much work for her to serve a customer so I left and took my business elsewhere. She seemed rather surprised that I left? hmm...please don't under estimate your customers, your not the only business within the area. JUST AWFUL!. Now I know why this place was empty for a reason.Not been back since.Would not recommend. I will give 0 stars if I could.

Nice food, ambient average (music was off). However, staff was amazing and very attentive which we didn't really expect as we popped in just for a quick lunch. That service was on the level of much more expensive places. We will definitely come back... Visited on 05.06.

The only star is for the fast service, other than that the food was really dry and i literally had too take a huge dump when i came home because of the food the chicken seemed off and it was hard and the rest of the food was very hard will never go here again

Would not visit again. The crispy squid was rubbery and when I asked to change it, the male waiter was very reluctant, questioned whether I’ve had calamari before and if this would be the last thing I asked to change (it was THE ONLY request). The baby high chair was filthy, so my cousin had to sit her baby on her lap until her son fell asleep and could go back in the buggy. The gyozas were horrible. The dumpling pastry was thick and soggy. The restaurant was cold and I will definitely be avoiding that place. One of the female members of staff was actually nice and she was the only good part of the event.

This place reminded me of a restaurant in Soho back in the 90s best Chinese food ever!! however terrible and rude service. Think this place is under new management been here a few times before, however now the service is appalling I have seen better service better class in a roadside CAFE. Should have left When the “waitress” came to take our order. I just knew We be in for poor service. Food came at a reasonable pace. Although I had to fish inside my “Beef ramen” for the fork and the soup spoon. Dishes were promptly taken before we even finished our food. (I believe this is a regular feature as I’ve just discovered on another post). The icing was when she bought the bill first time ever I didn’t want to leave a tip (as the wife wasn’t looking ) she put the card machine in front of me and said leave tip leave tip in a rude manner. I said no thank you. Received a rude look and a muttering in Chinese. Will we return ? probably sadly not🙁

Food is good, loads of it and tasty! But service is shocking….. you feel rushed and looked at all the time. 4-5 times we were asked if we wanted to order, then kept asking if we were finished but two of us were still eating. Two of the workers would stand at the back and watch up making us feel like we were taking to long. We were a big group but the place was empty so not like we were taking up room. Real shame as the food was nice but I didn’t like feeling like I needed to rush.

We went on a Monday evening and it was pretty quiet in the restaurant so we had very attentive waiters. Food came out quickly and the portion sizes are very big for the price. Would definitely recommend for a date night, or food with friends.
