Excellent food, excellent service, large portions. Delicious menu, great place to eat home made quality food. Beautiful chips, chicken, steak....

We visited here recently for a family celebration. The night we were there it was quiet and we had the restaurant to ourselves. Staff were pleasant and friendly and we had our drinks and food orders promptly taken. After a short wait the food arrived hot, nicely presented and tasty. Good sized portions and great chips. Reasonably priced and good value for money

My Dad and I were staying with my Uncle as we do every year and he took us for a meal on Saturday afternoon. The meal was amazing it was piping hot and so tasty,the menu was very varied and Joanne was so lovely and kind. I can not recommmend this place enough would definetly recommmend to anyone in he area

Never knew this wee spot until tonight. Went out for dinner with the Mrs. Well what a surprise we got. We just wanted a good dinner. No frills such as starters. So we went straight for the main course. A 10 and 8 ounce filet steaks well done. Well what a dish we both got. I nearly always get to finish the wife's steak. But not tonight. She cleaned her plate and sat back and said that was unbelievable lovely. Yep so was mine. Special word about the staff. Thanks form making the gateway to the mournes worth a calling to. We will be back very soon. So if your about this part of the woods and looking for good food this is the place to go Wee Minny Doyles a hidden gem.

Three is went in for a birthday meal. We had to wait down stairs and were given menus to order there. One friend had soup starter,whilst I ordered salted chilli squid and the other person didn't order starter. About 30 minutes later we were ushered up stairs to restaurant that seated around 32 persons. The tables were far enough apart for privacy but a nice atmosphere existed. Soon our soup and squid arrived. The soup with wheaten bread was ok but nothing special. My squid portion looked small. It had pickled red cabbage and star anise with garlic mayo. The squid was fresh and tasty,though little chilli or salt taste. Portion could have been bigger. Two of us had sea trout on comber crushed potato s with a crab claw and two prawns. A delicate crab cream sauce dressed the plate. It lacked vegetable of some other kind. And though presentation and taste were superb the portion size was small. My friend had pan fried chicken with champ and pepper sauce. It looked good,was bigger ant tasted good. We were still hungry though so we ordered apple crumble with custard and two pavlovas. The Pavlova was again a measured portion with strawberry and apple and a small scoop if ice cream. Not the best or biggest pavlovas we have ever eaten. The apple crumble came in small bowl with little milk bottle of custard and small scoop of ice cream. Verdict. Presentation 10. Taste 10. Portions 6. Value for money 5. We will go back but only after some time for the reason of too costly for small portions. But we recommend the food whole heartedly.

12 of us sat down to dinner on a Saturday night. The service was absolutely top notch. Staff efficient , couteous and willing to have the craic. The star of the evening was the food!!!! Excellently cooked , well presented on time and hot. We live in England; and we will be back. Thank you for helping make a geat evening.

We visited when over in Hilltown with friends who live in the village. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome. We were a group of 12 and service was attentive, fun and not overbearing. The menu had a good range. Meals were simple but well executed. All agreed their meals were excellent, from the starters of stuffed mushrooms, seafood chowder and crab claws through to mains of pan seared chicken on champ with paper corn sauce or white wine and mushroom, burgers, fish, steaks and pasta. Portions are generous and many of us couldn't manage a desert. Would highly recommend Minny Doyles.

Fast efficient service even though staff said they were very busy and apologised for delay... we were sitting down to our starters within ten minutes of arrival. Warm friendly welcoming relaxed atmosphere where families and friends were enjoying the scrumptious food--- stuffed mushrooms with garlic, home made soup etc-sizzlers,steaks,chicken,burgers,fish as mains Great selection. Fancied the crumble but so did too many others before us so we settled for tea and coffee with chocolate mints and a bit of craic with other relaxed diners.

This was our 1st visit to this restaurant and will most definitely be back! The steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection and portion sizes were more than adequate! The atmosphere upstairs in restaurant was both relaxing and cosy and the waitressing staff were so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend Minny Doyle's restaurant!!

Have had two really good meals here. Tried both the steak and and the burger which were both great with loads of sides and good portions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only problem is that it is not widely known and maybe some smarter advertising could help that. Special mention to Joanne and Deirdre.

A local recommended this place for a meal in the new reataurant upstairs, we were seated downstairs to order and have a pint while we waited for our table. The menu has a great selection, My other half got the steak and said it was possibly the best steak he had in a long time and I ordered the sizzling chicken platter, the chicken was so tender, overall the service was superb, The chef(s) are brilliant, the bar is lovely and there is a great atmosphere. We have been back since to try the Scampi, chicken Maryland and more steak. If you love good food, this is the place to go.

This a a typical Irish Pub with a warm welcome for all Visitors to Hilltown, now made even better with the opening of their new Restaurant serving great food from Friday through to Sunday. Do not pass through without checking it out, great food at a good price.

Favourite pub in Hilltown, Joanne and Seamie always friendly. Great for Saturday night craic, music and dancing. Newly opened restaurent doing very well.

Really impressed with this lovely place. The new restaurant is really impressive. The garlic mushrooms were to die for and the steak was excellent with plenty of sides. Joanne is a great host and its a place that I will be back.

Great place to go on a Saturday night for the craic, a few pints and great music. Now opened up restaurant upstairs so can't wait to sample that as all reviews 100% excellent.

Fantastic food, great pub were locals are valued and strangers return as locals. Wonderful friendly staff.
