Mimi's Deli in Lambeth

Fantastic food! Thank you cheff! Lovely atmosphere as well. Maybe the service needs to be work on, only one staff I've seen smiling every time I visit, I'm not sure what's going on there, and I do appreciate a smile with my serving. But all these compensate again over that absolutely fantastic food.

Have been coming to Mimi’s for over 2 years - which says a lot! Delicious, fresh food, prepared with heart. They also stock lots of Italian products which can be hard to find elsewhere. Definitely a local gem. Give it a try

A lovely friendly Italian cofee shop. So much choice of Italian products. They make a decent cappuccino. There is a seating area at the back which is very nicely decorated. Food is made fresh and prepared daily and it’s always well presented and clean. Really good lunch options and offers a range of desserts. The pastel the natas wasn’t the freshest I’ve had for the price and that’s the only thing I can say that wasn’t quite up to scratch.

A very well stocked store with a variety of goods, mostly from Italy. The sandwiches and food offered are very tasty, but the prices are a bit high!

The main bald headed waiter is hot, like very handsome (he knows me as Mr Finsbury Park) ;)

Very friendly staffs and lots of authentic Italian goodies in the shop! However, the reason it’s a 3 stars : the price. We had pesto pasta with just chicken on top (no vege or cheese or anything) and a brie toasted sandwich takeaway and it came up with 19£. I always support a local shop but to me, this is just too pricy for what you get.

This is the first time going in this shop and most definitely will be going back allot more . I asked for something special with abit of everything and it was done fresh and to perfection. their food products and sauces are made fresh daily as I see them make it myself. Absolutely amazing . you really do get what you pay for and more . well done guys

Wow, 🥰 where to start? Quaint corner deli is easily accessible off Brixton Road near the kia oval. I have always eyed their panettone but never dared to enter. Boy, was I wrong, super friendly staff, gold service with a smile and give you their lil secret faves. We had the cakes; red velvet, chocolate, and banana not seen here. The other humans hoovered those slices but it took dedication, as you get stuffed. A generous portion of the slice, packed with attention. Now, the show stoppers. Canoli and that crispy ' croissant' look alike. Found a love lost. Again those were filled with every mouthful, flavorsome of a biscuit and cream. You need to try the salted caramel. And I hate nuts! The winner is pistachio, a pale green look, but be ready to be captivated. They make great sweets for a treat or parties as something different. I didn't browse enough in the shop but they sell a lot of things and even have tables at the back for a spot of lunch. The new Italian deli is unlocked.

I was in a rush to go somewhere and needed a good break and they made me panini from scratch (salmon, avocado and cream cheese) Yummy! And filling. I had an oar milk latte which was nice as well. Let’s say I will be a regular now!

Super rude staff full of attitude, shouting to the customers inside the shop. Limited space and very plane food. It was choosen once because of the time and distance but never again. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANY OCCASION!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Mimis Deli! I cannot say it enough! I never write reviews on anything really but this needed one for sure! My work friends and I were looking for a warm place to eat, somewhere to take refugee in the cold and rainy lunch hours and came across Mimis Cafe. When you see the place, it's like walking into a New-York Deli out of a movie! The place smells like heaven! You won't know what to get! The food was bloody delicious, it tasted as yummy as it looks and you will not be disappointed, especially with the salads! Mimi is an absolute gem! She's so smiliey and welcoming you really feel like home oddly enough. The service was amazing! I cannot wait to go back on office days and basically become a regular! I would totally recommend and have been raving about this place to everyone haha! Don't be surprised if I leave another review!

lunch with work pals, warm welcome from Mimi and her brother! such a lovely quaint cafe. The service was 11/10 and the food was amazing!!!The salads are so delicious, portions are huge so well worth the money. We arrived cold and hungry We left with warm smiles and filled Tummies, definitely be back on our office days.

Stopped off for a sandwich which was enormous! Could have fed two people ( the photo was taken after I'd devoured a third of it!) It was delish! Served with a nice salad. The staff were very friendly and accommodating so made mine fresh with onion focaccia.

Marcel and his team are a pleasure to meet! Free tasting of delicious ham while we were waiting for our take away breakfast: delicious paninis and great cappuccino/cortados. Right opposite Kennington park + church … nice for a picknick!

I feel absolutely blessed to be working in a building over the road from Mimi's Deli. In a post-pandemic time, coming in to the office to work still feels a little strange, and although I'm only doing so a couple of times a month, there's still a weird uncertainty around leaving the house in the morning. But the uncertainty is washed away when I remember the reward waiting for me. Lunch time. Mimi's Deli. Spicy Salami Salad and a Cafe Latte. An order of absolute perfection with a top class taste, with some witty banter from the extremely passionate and charming staff on the side. I've eaten a lot of lunch in London, but Mimi's Deli is the place I'm most passionate about recommending to others.

Fantastic sandwiches and cannoli, great selection of cheese and proper Italian salsiccia in the shop. Run by really nice people, just a great local deli all round.

Terrible. No idea why this place has any good reviews. The business owners have little to no people skills. My pasta was reheated in a microwave, luke warm on the outside and stone cold on the inside. When I asked for it to be heated up some more, the owner starts shouting and getting very huffy about it. She was essentially telling me that I was making it up. By then, the owners were clearly not happy with my complaint as the remaining service was cold and quite frankly, stroppy. When my toddler started to cry which lasted no more than 20 seconds as he was getting tired and restless, she marched over and berrated me about disturbing the other customers. Such a shame, as I really wanted to support a family run business. Their arrogance will be their downfall. Summary. Not child friendly. Food terrible. Service terrible.

A friendly, family-run, deli in Kennington that's really worth a visit. The focaccia was still delicious and it has a great selection of meat, cheese and wine to take away. Go!

Got a takeaway toasted ciabatta and was astounded that they charged me £7.50 for it!! I thought I had been charged twice. No price list on the board, only a small list in a corner on a random table. Tasted fine but nothing special to warrant charging double the standard price of this type of panini. Agree with other comments that staff were rude also. Will not be returning.

The guy who helped me was really prepared about their product and really helpful, I was nearly buying everything!!! But I didn't like the pressure that the lady with the dark long hair on the till was putting on him and I preferred to pay and leave. The parmigiana of aubergine was really bitter!!!

Wow, what wonderful food this place sells. It's not cheap but it's great quality. An amazing range of Italian cheeses, breads, olives, coffee. The pastries are out of this world. Great staff too, full of enthusiasm, fun and a genuine love for Italian food. Stupendo!

I love this place! They have the crostini (croutons) alla paprika that you can’t find anywhere else, and an extremely wide range of Italian products! The staff is always very nice and talkative and makes you feel home. Shame it is only in Oval as I would visit it more often 🙂

The place looks ok on the outside, but the service is bad (the guy who made the sandwich didn't even use gloves, especially during this period) .... and the prices are overpriced. It was the first and last time I would buy anything from here.....🙅‍♀️🙅‍♀️🙅‍♀️

Super nice. The cafe section does excellent food and there’s always a great selection of fresh and cupboard deli items - plus hot toasted sandwiches. Really lovely, stayed open an extra few mins to make my coffee order as I’d walked in without realising they were closing up.

Vine a este restaurante / café por primera vez y estaba muy emocionado porque me encanta la comida italiana. Sin embargo, el personal me pareció muy desagradable. En primer lugar, solo mostraban los precios para llevar, pero no etiquetados como tales. Por lo tanto, decidí comer en casa porque pensé que era un precio razonable hasta que descubrí que era al menos 3/4 libras más caro que el de llevar. Quería pagar al principio, la señora fue grosera ("estas son las reglas", dice) y me dijeron que el pago solo se hace al final. Ahora entiendo por qué, de lo contrario habría quitado para llevar y pagado menos. Sin embargo, comí lasaña y estaba muy buena. Sin embargo, la porción no era grande. Recomendaría la comida pero no el servicio. Probablemente fue de mala suerte ya que he visto muy buenos comentarios de este restaurante.

He estado visitando a Mimi por años debido a que a veces trabajaba a la vuelta de la esquina. No importa cuánto tiempo haya pasado, siempre me dan la bienvenida con una gran sonrisa y una ronda de "Ciao" de todo el personal preguntando dónde he estado. La comida es excelente e incluso puedes darte un capricho italiano que nunca has escuchado en casa desde su pequeña sección de comestibles. ¡Oval no sería lo mismo para mí sin el de Mimi!

Went there today to buy some biscuits. The guy making sandwiches screamed to the lady at the till: the chicken sandwich is for the hot girl in the queue; the cheese sandwich for the not so hot girl in the queue. Shame on him; I think we should all have 0 tolerance with sexist comments and behaviour. Won’t be buying / eating there ever again.

Nice place, would have given 5* if it wasn't the old lady. Didn't know there was different price for takeaway and eat-in service. I asked if I could sit down she wasn't happy at all. Customer service not her strong skills. Won't be visiting again.

Love this place, probably the best place in London to grab food. When ever I find myself across the river I go out my way to get my lunch. Always great selection of fresh and tasty food. The staff are always warm and welcoming too. Would love if they had a shop north of the river.

Small Italian deli that can be really busy at mealtimes. The food is great, lots of variety in different sandwiches and paninis that you can have, a lot of people take it to go. Pro-tip though is to eat in by going to the back and getting a seat. You can an order off the menu everything you can up front and relax and enjoy the meal. I like to go here whenever I'm in the area

Hay una buena variedad de comida en el mostrador. El café también es muy bueno.El personal muy amable, especialmente el joven alto con la moto grande. Proper.italian deli great food and lovely people working there

Así que los arancini son bolas de arroz fritas, rellenas de un día. Tienen que ser crujientes y algo secos, y deben estar bien calientes por dentro. Me engañaron para que se sentaran, y vinieron nadando en salsa de tomate (sin aderezar), con la ensalada de col más aleatoria de un lado. El arancino en sí era blando y empapado, de textura uniforme (sin bondad de fusión en el interior).Quiero decir que estoy lejos de ser un experto culinario, pero tuve algunos buenos arancini en el pasado.  6, 5, aquí tienes.Además, un recipiente de plástico de pesto era de 5. 15, tal vez eso es Brexit, lo que sé.
