Millhouse Restaurant & Bar in East Riding of Yorkshire

Simply fantastic in all areas. It's fairly simple but delicious food and excellent service. This was our second visit and just as good as the previous. Prices all reasonable and the food was excellent home cooked pub grub. Recommend booking due to it being quite popular. Environment and atmosphere not too noisy either.

Went here with my wife for our wedding anniversary staff were great as soon as we walk in . Food was also very good all in all a very nice place the only problem was the language coming from other table not the restaurants fault would go back

We had our wedding at The Milhouse, and we had the perfect day. From the moment we arrived ourselves and our guest were looked after, and nothing was too much bother. The staff were super friendly but professional. We had a 3-course wedding breakfast for approx. 70 people which was delicious. The food was piping hot for every single person. All our guest commented on how nice the food was, including the hog roast which we had later in the evening. We did a lot of the table and venue decorations ourselves which we were unable set up the day before, so trusted Lucy (wedding co-ordinator) to make the venue look just how we imagined, and there was no doubt that she got our vision and made it look just how we had designed it. Thank you to all the staff at The Milhouse for helping to make our day perfect.

First time visitors here, but we will definitely be back. There was such a fantastic choice on the menu and the service was top class.

An amazing place to have Sunday lunch. Waitresses so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I took my elderly grandmother who had mobility issues and all the staff made us feel so welcome. The Sunday lunch itself was lovely and they even did a smaller portion for my grandmother. Can’t wait to return :)

Sunday lunch for my friends birthday 15 lady’s, and we were all very disappointed with the food and service, we had pre booked all our meals 2 weeks before ,the mains were only just warm the roast beef tough. We asked for horseradish never came we asked for water for the table never came , but we did got rolling eyes from the waitress. And the puddings don’t know we’re to start strawberry pavlova was ordered by most of our party we were told non left but they had Eton mess which when it arrived was just cream and strawberry’s , I had ordered cheesecake nothing like a cheesecake we were all very disappointed spoke to a manager I think , just said sorry I emailed them and have not had a reply,service was not good

We had our wedding at the Millhouse in October 2023 and we couldn’t have wished for a better venue. From when we booked the venue, the staff were absolutely fantastic, in particular our Wedding co-ordinator, Lucy. She made planning the wedding so much easier, as she kept us organised, made lovely suggestions, and helped make our day perfect. The venue itself is lovely inside, and also is surrounded by the most gorgeous gardens for photos. The food on the day was fantastic, and all of our guests have commented on what high quality it was. They were also brilliant in catering to the various dietary needs of our guests. Thank you to Lucy and the whole team at the Millhouse! We can’t recommend this venue enough!

Called in on a Monday lunchtime on the off chance, unfortunately there wasn’t a table for 2 available at the time (12.45) we asked if there was a table a little later and was told they could make 1.30. We decided to stay and have a drink out in the gardens, it was a lovely hot day, we ate in the restaurant as it was cooler, table was set lovely there was a jug of water waiting which was a nice touch, my husband ordered the fish dog, I was going to order quiche of the day but unfortunately it wasn’t available so I decided on a jacket potato with prawns instead. Both of our meals was lovely, the staff was friendly we will definitely return. The steak night on a Friday looks very tempting.

Absolutely fantastic meal today to celebrate my sons 14th birthday. Sunday lunch menu is fab. We all felt cared for and looked after and very full when we left. Will definitely be returning. Thanks guys

Myself wife went to the mill for dinner Sat night we had early booking with family get together booking for 10 we all ordered starters mains myself grandson son in-laws ordered steaks rib eyed mine well done it finally arrived it was appalling I wouldn’t serve it to my dog I didn’t want to make a scene and spoil it for the rest of the party I asked my son and grandson the said the same I am retired chef a steak is something simple to do if I had served that I would be ashamed the service was appalling all young just look to be out of school. The mill used to have a good reputation when my friend owned it Franco who used to work for me many years ago a definitely no go for me it cannot get any worse this is a true comment and not ashamed to address my comments.

A good place to meet friends for Sunday Lunch. We stayed for the afternoon and felt no pressure to move on. Enjoyed our coffee in the bar area. The staff are all excellent, attentive and pleasant. Generally the meal is good value but vegetables and starter which should have been hot, were on the cold side. The only other downside was that the modern decor and space ( both are also a bonus) meant that one of our party who is deaf struggled to hear. We would certainly go again and have been many times before. They cater for vegetarians and vegans and appeared to be accommodating of the children who were there.

Food excellent. Service superb, the staff and so polite and well trained, very helpful. Will definitely be back. Try the dessert wine, delicious!

Booked for afternoon tea which was nice, my only qualm been as I don’t drink hot drinks I thought this would be subsidised with a juice or cold drink - however I had to pay for this separately which was disappointing as the afternoon tea is on the expensive side. Sat outside which was a lovely holiday feel, inside seemed very dark. Would visit again.

Really disappointed ☹️ Afternoon tea consisted on 3 tuna finger sandwiches barley any filling 2 prawn, 2 ham and one cheese. Considering we asked for no fish !The sweet layer consisted of a strawberry tart which was nice but the tacky what looked like a child’s cupcakeSprinkled with 100 n 1000’s on top was the last straw with the addition of a frozen brownie which wasn’t home made and not edible. Finally the cream scone which didn’t taste quite right with the cream which tasted sour. It would of been nice for the servers to actually check back with us to check if everything was ok but they didn’t. They only asked if we wanted to take home all of the inedible food to which we refused the offer as it wasn’t nice. Sorry Mill House we are really disappointed with the quality Of your food and overall service. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to have their afternoon tea with yourselves.

Having been for afternoon tes,which was a gift we booked for lunch the following Monday Excellent all,round food surroundings and service. Must be honest we found the costs a little high but thanks to Boris the second meal was £10 off each which helped.

I just can’t put my finger on it but something was missing... anyhow we had steaks cooked to perfection! Beautiful sauce too! We ordered the lettuce wedge, we have this at our favourite restaurant back home but unfortunately this wasn’t a scratch on that, but everything else was lovely, the staff had lovely manners and were well spoken! I had booked a family lunch to celebrate my husband's retirement, booked early August via the website and received a confirmation email. I later asked for details of a vegetarian menu for my daughter which was sent to me stating they were 'looking forward to welcoming us'. However on arriving at the venue 20th August, the place was closed and no one was there. On checking the website there was nothing to suggest it was closed. There was also a tradesman who had turned up at the same time trying to gain entry. I was gutted, I'd been planning this for a few weeks, my son had taken the day off work especially and we were all looking forward to it. I fired off an angry email and two days later I received a reply stating that they'd decided at the beginning of August to close on Thursdays and had tried ringing me and had left a voicemail. Liars. I checked my phone and have had NO missed calls and certainly no voicemail. I would hardly turn up to the place if I'd received a voicemail! I decided to phone the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager, who claimed to know nothing about my complaint and gave the impression it was my fault! Again, I did not receive any voicemails or have any record of missed calls. Having read some of the reviews I now feel that maybe it was a blessing in disguise. The manager's attitude was very disappointing. We will not be recommending this place to anyone. Absolute farce.

This place has turned into total chaos. Managed by a buffoon and Halfwits. Open, not open, open, not open.. Lies, toffee, and cods. What a joke. It'll teach them a Windy Miller lesson indeed.

I just want to say a big thank you for the amazing birthday party & evening we had on Saturday. All the guests were so impressed with the food & tentertive service you provided. We made a little mess with the decorations & the staff were extreamly understanding and cleaned everything for us. The evening was well organised with dedicated waiters & bar staff who couldn't do anything more for us. We were very impressed. Booked Millhouse for birthday celebration, contacted the restaurant on day to change reservation numbers no issues. From the minute we arrived for drinks in the bar the service was exceptional. Ordered of both set menu and normal menu, Steak was cooked to perfection and Sunday lunch was amazing. Steve and the team deliver first class service catering for all tastes.
