Loved the themed night specials.

We visit this restaurant several times a year either with friends or for a large annual family reunion. The food & service is great & reasonably priced, however their drinks selection is very disappointing. Recently due to medication Im unable to drink alcoholic drinks so when I requested a non alcoholic wine either sparkling or still I was informed that the only non alcoholic drinks they offered was beer or cider, disappointing in comparison to other restaurants & pubs in the area. Alternatively I requested a diet lemonade but was told that they didn’t sell it & only supplied diet coke. Surprising that a successful & popular restaurant is found lacking in this area.

Enjoyable lunch at this, ideally located restaurant with plenty of on site parking. Excellent food, in pleasant spacious surroundings. Outstanding service from cheerful Sarah. We will visit again.

Town centre pub not much more to add but Weather spoons are never bad

My steak was underdone by a mile. I never bothered to send it back. Starter of scallops was delicious. Service good. Very busy. I'd go again but wouldn't have the steak

We were a party of 7 ladies. The menu was perfect for our varied tastes. All staff were professional and attentive and the food was perfect. The chef certainly knows how to cook a good steak. We were all more than happy and we are looking forward to returning assp

Service was fantastic. The food arrived in good time, we didn’t have to wait too long, but it also wasn’t rushed. My steak was cooked perfectly, thanks to a recommendation from the steak expert. My wife's steak was slightly undercooked at first, and when it came back, it was a touch overdone, but to be fair, she is quite particular! Overall, we were very satisfied with our experience.

Had a beautiful meal with my friend last night.. the food was all delicious. I'm not sure what the lettuce wedge is about, though!! But each to their own! We both had the 8oz fillet steak for our mains, and both were so delicious and melted in your mouth! All the courses were really good. The restaurant was clean and there was a decent amount of parking! The service was a little slow, but the restaurant was quite busy. 27/4/25- visited again with my partner.. the food was really good. Great service. We had the Sunday set menu, lots of choices on.the menu. Photos added.

First time taking our mums here went to one in Welwyn and was amazing. Brought mums to Sevenoaks-Staff seem very busy, the food was cold, we were served new potatoes instead of crispy potatoes. Our mums were very disappointed. Just hope that you will take into consideration that you need more staff.

This is an excellent restaurant of its kind.It's professionally run with welcoming and attentive staff, its has a good ambiance (though for me the musak was too loud). My dish – fillet steak and salad – were excellent, as was my wife's fish dish. (Though the chips were rather soggy.) It has a good wine list. I made a mistake with my wine order and they replaced it quickly without charge. It was an enjoyable meal and I will definitely visiting this restaurant more frequently.

First class. Outstanding steaks and excellent service. 4th or 5th time we’ve visited now and it’s consistently TOP DRAW! Thanks for having us.

The meal was as poor as can be communicated. I ordered a fillet and I couldn’t even put a knife into it. It was horrendous. I expect a refund

Visited recently. Not been to a M&C for a while, but previously had good experiences. This time was mixed. We were seated promptly , our server brought menus and we perused and chatted for the next 10 mins. We had initially given our drinks order at the time of receiving the menus, but sadly the drinks took over 20 mins to arrive. By the time we finally got our main course , we had been seated for over an hour. The steak was sadly not cooked as requested (medium) but as we had been waiting for over an hour, and it was getting late we decided to stick with it. The food is good, steaks are high quality and the sides were all well cooked and flavoursome. The server was excellent and the restaurant itself is a pleasant place to dine. We did notice only 2 servers were working though , and this could have contributed to the delay in drinks and food orders being taken. Overall it could have been better. £200 bill is not cheap (tip included) so you would hope for a better overall experience. I doubt we will return any time soon .

Booked a table, arrived 15 minutes earlier to be told they had had a power cut “all afternoon” Failed to tell anyone that booked a table, traveled 45 mins and got told to wait and will be allowed in 20 mins and then turned away. They could have emailed people to say they were having power issues!!

Will always check reviews first in future. Went with the lamb which was overcooked, tough, and chewy. The service wasn’t much better either – our waitress was far from welcoming, which was uncomfortable. We decided to cut our losses, pay, and leave. I remember the standards being much higher at Miller & Carter, and also seemed to be a busier restaurant at the time.

We will not be returning to Miller and Carter. Our negative experience began with a simple request to swap a meat option for a vegetable, which seemed reasonable and has never been an issue at other restaurants. However, we were told it was their policy not to accommodate such a request, which was confirmed by the manager on duty. This left a bad impression, and unfortunately, it only got worse from there. After finishing our starters, we waited 20 minutes for our plates to be cleared. Had I not called the waitress over, we would likely have waited much longer. This delay was especially inconvenient because the children’s meals were coming out with the mains. This left them starving. When I asked the waitress how long the kids' food would take, she responded rudely, saying I should have ordered their meals with the starters. This was frustrating, given the lengthy wait for our plates to be cleared and the fact that our mains could have then been on the way. Throughout the meal, the waitress repeatedly leaned over me in a huff to clear cutlery which raised another tables eye brows too. We was not offered any additional drinks, and seemed to delay giving us the bill and the restaurant was nearly empty, which made the poor service even more noticeable. The quality of the food didn’t justify the price, and the overall service was extremely disappointing. It seemed as though management was more focused on protecting their staff than ensuring customers had a pleasant and welcoming experience.

Yes its a chain, yes it quite generic when you go to any miller & carter but the food is really good. The black angus 8oz sirloin I had was cooked really well and our waitress was brilliant

Very quiet but really slow service, meals not served at the same time a good five + min delay between first two plates and second two plates and then equally long wait if not longer for sides to arrive. Went for the Sunday lunch deal but was disappointed as the menu described ribeye steak but was served rump in its place. For the other two meals they were very accommodating and did the same deal replacing all the red meat. Was disappointed enough not to tip. And would think twice before returning

Both steaks was ordered medium rare and both come out blue! Got taken back to the kitchen and come back out rare still! Waitress couldn’t be bothered with our table and we had to keep calling her over to get stuff for the table. Considering we were the only people sat in a whole section for the whole 1.5hrs it was shocking!!

Totally awesome , great food and great service . Went with my family to the Sevenoaks M&C . Staff were superb and the food was spot . As always it was all really reasonably priced

the service from abbie was extremely fast and attentive and met all of our needs. she made our experience personable and i couldn’t recommend this place enough, the food was 10/10 and always has been on every visit.

The restaurant its self looks absolutely amazing and the food was delicious the steak was a perfect medium rare and the beef mac and cheese is to die for. We was served by lorri who was helpful and polite she even helped me with my prawns. Thank you for a lovely night.

Enjoyed our food here. We have a young family and it was fine for us. Kids menu was good too. Don't quite get the so called salad which is half a block of lettuce chucked in a bowl though.....bit of a lazy effort. Would go again.

Arrived to a near on empty restaurant to be told no reservation was on the system, despite having a screenshot of the confirmation we should of had a txt, no attempt was made to seat us and we were turned away. Our party included a toddler and heavily pregnant lady, along with two other children. 7 in total and plenty or empty tables. The manager Dan was extremely rude and unhelpful.

our waitress was a bit forgetful, unfortunately that means we where eating for over 2 and a half hours for a couple. food was nice , steak came out rare rather than medium rare and they wouldn't take it back to the kitchen. i think i will choose another restaurant in future

Very short review as not much details are needed as a family of 5 for lunch with outstanding service. Our waitress was amazing. The food was fabulous across all people and all courses. Even better when you bought a voucher on black Friday. Plenty of car parking and fabulously clean. Highly recommend.

Lovely trip to Miller & Carter in Riverhead. Always drove past and never went in, until tonight. Served by Emilia, who was lovely and looked after us both. Partner enjoyed their chicken wings very much, and went on to have a cheese and bacon burger, which they devoured eagerly. I had some olives to start, then went on to have the plant based burger, which from previous experience at another Miller & Carter, was very tasty. We both enjoyed a side of onion loaf, which to our surprise was like eating a loaf of onion ring, which was thoroughly enjoyable. We had our desert, my partner chose the tiramisu, which they polished off with gusto, and I had the poached pear, which left me wanting for more of it after I had finished, but I was just too full. The drinks were excellent. We both had non-alcoholic cocktails, which were refreshing and flavoursome. It took some restraint on my part not to slurp them up too fast. Thoroughly enjoyable experience and would highly recommend. Recommendation: Understandable that it is a steak-house restaurant, but a couple more vegan options would be appreciated.

We always have good food and really excellent service at the Miller & Carter at Sevenoaks but I would like to say a special thank you to Ricardo who served us for lunch yesterday. My partner is now severely sight impaired and Ricardo went above and beyond to look after him in just the perfect way. Thank you Ricardo.

Restaurant felt like it needed a bit of a clean up. Walls were marked and dusty. The food was very below expectation. Starters had zero flavour, we had the scallops and calamari... Chips were undercooked and felt stale. Steak was very chewy (I had the rib eye cooked medium as recommended) and had to spit pieces out many times. Also ordered a side of greens which was largely peas - this is not 'greens' its a legume probably cheap frozen peas. Overall highly disappointing, and over priced meal. Will defo not be returning. Waitress was lovely, she provided great information and service. We did not complain to her, probably should have but what can she do? Hate to be the complaining customer and send food back as don't always trust what happens to it when it goes back in the kitchen.

Amazing food all three courses were fantastic. Very friendly and helpful staff. Asked for a quiet seating location and was looked after really well in this regard.

Such a lovely place. They validate parking so no need to worry. Steaks were perfectly cooked so much food came for the price. Highly recommend anyone going for amazing steaks can't be disappointed

Really disappointed and shocked how bad the food served this evening was the chef needs firing for allowing it to leave his kitchen. Chicken in starter cold, slimey and undercooked even after the second attempt. Cold under done chips in hot metal dish, not good, not fooling anyone. Skin on top of sauce, mould on side of the tomato, shrivelled garnish where the plate had been on the jump to long. Signature onion loaf, raw in middle like a brick on the outside. Rib eye so chewy in parts it was almost inedible. Really spoilt our celebration, we would have had a better meal in the local cafe! Plenty of apologises from duty manager, but our celebration ruined. Fancy menus and glossy advertising not good for business if you fail to deliver your prime function cooking food for the public. Never again.

Fantastic as always. Great food, great quality and cooked to perfection. Server was attentive without being a nuisance and was on hand when required without hovering anticipating our needs at the right time. A real pro. Thursday night starts the 3 course meal for under £35 each. What a lovely midweek treat.

Went there for my 2 year anniversary with my partner and loved it! The staff were very friendly and congratulated us. The food was delicious and came after a short wait! The drinks were just as good and the dessert was amazing. Our server Zoe was amazing. She was very sweet, friendly, helpful and made our overall night feel comfortable and enjoyable! Definitely recommend and will be returning!

6 years on from the review below I visited again early one evening to grab a quick bite before a meeting. Yes it wasn't busy at 16.30, but the staff were excellent and the food was very nicely prepared. Glad this place has survived the turmoil of the past few years in hospitality. I would definitely continue to recommend this as a mid range steak house. ******* Surprisingly Excellent. You don't expect much from a rebranded harvester but boy this is good steak. All the food was excellent. The service is still a bit harvesterish but this place is well worth a visit if you like steak. It's not hawksmore but it's a thousand times better than a Aberdeen Angus steak house.

Miller and Carter at Riverhead is by far our "Ladies who Lunch" favourite place . The food is great- the team are so lovely - especially Monika who has looked after us on the last 2 visits . Can't recommend it highly enough !

This was our first time driving to Sevenoaks, and being new to Kent, we had some trouble finding the restaurant, which caused us to arrive late. When we finally arrived, we were met by an incredibly rude and dismissive staff member. He informed us that our table had been given away due to our lateness, and when we tried to ask how long the wait for another table might be, he couldn’t offer any indication. Despite our efforts to explain that we had a 3-month-old baby with us and needed to plan around her feeding and changing times, he was completely indifferent. His attitude was arrogant and dismissive, making it clear that he had no interest in accommodating us or showing any basic customer service skills. Instead, he simply told us, “It’s your choice whether to stay or leave.” We were left embarrassed and frustrated, especially as we had guests from halfway across the world, eager to enjoy a nice meal. To make matters worse, we had to scramble to find an alternative restaurant at 7 p.m. with our baby’s feeding window fast approaching and our guests hungry. The lack of empathy or flexibility from Miller & Carter was astonishing, especially considering that delays are sometimes unavoidable. This experience has left such a bad taste that I can’t imagine ever returning or recommending the restaurant to others. A little understanding and customer care could have gone a long way, but instead, we were left feeling unvalued and humiliated in front of our family. Miller & Carter need to reconsider their approach if they hope to retain customers - especially those who have traveled so far to enjoy a special evening. It’s clear from the response from Miller & Carter that someone is not being entirely truthful, likely in an attempt to cover for themselves. No other staff were nearby during the conversation, so the mention of multiple witnesses is questionable at best. We did receive the text stating that our table would be held for 20 minutes, and we arrived as quickly as possible after having trouble locating the restaurant. However, when we arrived, the staff member in question did not mention anything about having us wait in the bar or offer any solution. Instead, we were told bluntly that our table was gone, and no estimate was provided for how long we would need to wait for another. The dismissive attitude and lack of customer service were the most striking parts of the exchange. It’s concerning that the restaurant’s response implies we left of our own accord without waiting, which is completely untrue. We left because we felt unwelcomed and had no confidence that we would be seated in a reasonable time. There was no communication offering any reassurance or effort to accommodate us, despite the fact that we had a baby with us and had made our situation clear. It’s disappointing to see the restaurant trying to shift the blame, rather than acknowledging the genuine issue with how we were treated. We have no reason to misrepresent what happened, and unfortunately, this poor handling of our situation further reinforces our decision not to return.

Unfamiliar with the area, we arrived late after struggling to find the location. Upon arrival, we were told our table had been given away due to the delay. When we asked how long it would take to get another table, the staff showed no care, offering no helpful information, despite us having a baby. They simply said, "We sent a text, you can wait at the bar if you want until a table becomes available'' Left with no choice, we had to find another restaurant late at night, with a hungry baby and family. We ended up going to another Miller & Carter branch who were happy to accomodate us without fuss. Later, the restaurant claimed multiple staff had offered us a bar seat and a soon-available table, but that’s not accurate. When we asked for an ETA on an available table, the staff member said he couldn't provide one, which is absurd since they should know which tables are finishing. Had they given us a reasonable estimate, we likely would have waited. Instead, we left because we felt unwelcome and unsure if we’d be seated. The restaurant’s response shifting blame only confirms our decision not to return. We were simply looking for a pleasant meal, which we didn’t get.

Always a good experience, does what it says on the tin. Really busy and buzzy at weekends, service is fast and attentive.

Ordered 12oz sirloin medium which is what I always get. Was really rare, just couldn’t eat it. Waitress agreed wasn’t medium so I sent it back. Ended up eating my meal when everyone else had finished. This restaurant is meant to specialise in steaks. I know some people love moaning but I rarely do. Put me off going back. I have noticed another review near mine complaining of raw steak so same issue as mine. They have replied to my review below with no apology but they say they want to learn more so it won’t happen again. I provided enough information I believe so if you need to learn more I would start in the kitchen

The restaurant was busy with not enough staff. We felt a bit rushed and unsettled to start but as the restaurant quietened down our server really was good. The food wasn't anything special but we all finished our meals.

I like coming here every so often. Not the cheapest place to eat out but it is steak! I really enjoyed the orange bomb dessert that I'd never had before, besides getting it all over new trousers, whoops...

Place is tired looking. Stairs carpet worn and bald. Toilet seat broken. Ordered a g&t, asked for small amount of tonic. Drink arrived like a fishbowl full of tonic and ice. Couldn't taste gin at all. Ordered a dirty burger and fries. Burger was swimming in bbq sauce so that's all you could taste. Some fries were cooked golden others burnt so suspect they came from 2 different cooking batches. Wouldn't return.

Over the years the menu choice has reduced considerably. Each time I have attended something has been taken off. A couple of dishes had been removed this time. There needs to be more selection. It shouldn’t just be all about burgers and steaks

Had a wonderful meal tonight. The food and setting were both excellent but what really made the evening so enjoyable was the wonderful service. We were served by Ricardo who was so helpful and friendly. Nothing we asked for was too much trouble and he had an excellent balance of attentiveness and space.
