Miller & Carter Lakeside in Thurrock

Served by a very friendly waitress Ola, but sadly the service was poor, the food wasn't that hot when it arrived, the desert menu wasn't fully available, the three things we chose, they had run out of so was offered to order from 4 other items. The length of time between each course was over 40 mins and the very few diners in their at the time we were eating had finished their meals and gone, which left us, a party of 6 and possibly two other tables, which didn't explain the length of time waiting. Sadly won't be returning their. Had a much better experience in the one which used to be the Dick Turpin pub.

Went here on a Saturday, I had booked the table on line with no problem, when we arrived we were met by warm friendly staff, Alison was our waitress who was brilliant. The food we ordered was all cooked to perfection from the steaks to the burger, the desserts 🍨 NICE, starters well NICE, the bread 🍞 board i recommend. The is one of the best 👌 restaurants me and my family have eaten in staff (brilliant) atmosphere (relaxing 👌) Food (first class) To all the staff on Saturday 30th October THANK YOU Bad news it is closed shame

Great venue. The food was amazing. Sticky Chipotle chicken starter was perfect! The steak was really well cooked and tastes great. Service was great, we were very well cared for and looked after. Well worth the price and we will be going again.

Booked a table for 12 people which I had to pay a £60 deposit for, and never got my deposit back! I had emailed and complained and no one has replied. On the website it states that the deposit is going to be refunded 24 hours after your booking date. It's been nearly one month!

This chain is consistent. Good food and friendly staff. We went here recently the week before the venue sank. It was listed heavily at the time of our visit. I just hope it is invested in properly and restored to its former glory or even to it's potential glory, as this moc steam paddle boat has been there as long as I can remember visiting Lakeside and would be a shame if it was removed.

Lakeside miller cater very good food and service. We have been served by Alison a few times now and thought it only right to leave a review as she never fails ! Very pleasant, very attentive and nothing it to much trouble.

Service is friendly and attentive although can be quite slow when busy. Steaks are great but lettuce side is a weird combination.

As always, it is a beautiful place to celebrate memorable events. The food from the starter to dessert was extremely good. We had a wonderful waiter dedicated to our table. The atmosphere in this Christmas time was calm with a casual vibe. It was a very wonderful night celebrating my husbands birthday.

Attended a birthday celebration, the 12 of us each ordered a 3 course meal of the starters for 3 of us was so cold it was sent straight back. We then waited 40 minutes for the table to be cleared for the main course of which all was fine. We then waited 1/2 hour for our main course to be cleared before our desserts came out. All good. Our observations for our stay. We were upstairs and only 2 waiters were serving (both of whom were excellent). The bar staff of 1 was inundated with dirty glasses on the bar area and seemed in no hurry to clear them. Then you had the Just Eat take out guy - very busy - 6 big full bags of food he had packed and I hope their starters were hot! The table next to us was for 2 and when they left their table was not cleared for 50 minutes and table where diners had left was left uncleared for 40 minutes. In all my 8 years of dining at Miller & Carter Lakeside I have never been so disappointed. I can honestly say I will not be rushing back (like I always do for our celebrations during the year) any time soon. I have always found Miller & Carter to be the "top" of our go to place. It is a sad day.

One hour for starters to be served. Ordered gin and soda could not taste gin. Ordered long island iced tea . Which I drink every other M and C tasted like coke very disappointed

Our waiter was nice, but when I entered the restaurant for my booking, not a single member of staff approached me. Many members of staff looked straight at me and walked past without offering assistance - even if they were busy, it would have been courteous to at least acknowledge that I had entered the restaurant and that they would be with me shortly. In the end, I actually had to call the restaurant from my phone whilst standing there, so that someone picked up. Only then did someone approach me to ask for my booking and take me to the table. Unfortunately, the food was not to a standard that the brand, price and description suggested, which was really disappointing.

When we first arrived no one greeted us for 2/3 minutes and then were seated without being given the children’s menu The children’s starters were not correct and no apology was given when it took time to replace the starter After our mains which were not to the usual standard of the Sevenoaks branch we waited over 25 minutes for the server to return and get our bill. After 2 really bad experiences at Laindon Miller and Carter we decided to try the Lakeside branch (as had a voucher) the person who served us was very polite and professional. I specifically asked for food to be hot as not the case in Laindon and she didn’t disappoint. The food was plentiful (unlike Laindon) and more importantly cooked all the way through. So all in all a lovely visit

We visited M&C for my daughters 18th birthday and we had such an amazing time. Waitress Allison was so kind and helped us with everything we need with a smile. Food was delicious and good for all ages as we had four generations of our family dining together. I would definite recommend to friends and family.

The food was excellent!! Well cooked & served by a friendly staff. They make good stake in a beautiful ambience.

Service was ok just took too long and when we ordered the food everything was wrong and when we order coffee it came to the table cold as the service was very poor we waited for almost 30 minutes for a coffee to came to the table.

Had an awful meal here last night. Starters were a disaster. 3 different starters, Scallops COLD and UNDERCOOKED, therefore, rejected TWICE (for the SAME problem) with another dish rejected once too. Whoever is running the pass there has NO CLUE at all what is leaving their kitchen and how it looks. When asked for some butter, were told they don't actually have/use butter in the restaurant at all. How bizarre.... Mains arrived, yet more problems. Onion loaf COLD and UNDERCOOKED. Side of fries COLD Rack of Lamb LUKE WARM and very fatty. Hardly any meat at all on the 4 miniscule cutlets presented, for around the £25 region I think.... Once again, back to "who" is allowing this to make it into the dining area. Oh, and almost forgot, waited almost 5 minutes for some cutlery when the mains arrived for 1 of us. Left the restaurant VERY disappointed and £89.95 lighter following, quite frankly, a distaster meal from start to finish. As a business owner myself, I completely understand that NONE of us get everything right all of the time. What makes us who we are is HOW problems are dealt with when things go wrong and issues arise. Our server, James, was VERY polite and VERY embarrassed by the whole thing. Sadly, my review doesn't give him the credit he deserves. In summary, for a Miller & Carter restaurant I really did expect more from the Management on duty at the time. Although a couple dishes were removed from the final bill, it still wasn't enough for the dreadful food we had. Had that been myself in their position, I would have removed the ENTIRE cost of the meal, with the exception of any alcoholic beverages, as for me, booze doesn't come free, regardless of what happens, in the hope that we would put the whole thing down to experience and still remain a future customer. Right now, I'm not in any particular hurry to return, which is a shame as we have had lovely meals together here in the past.

Steak was disgusting. Lots of fat looks like ate belly pork but not stirlion steak.

Drinks and salats was realy nice and good, but steak my wife’s was terrible (sirloin 12oz), very disappointing, it’s not cheapest place.

My husband make me a surprise for my birthday and booked a table for our family there. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great and intimate. We enjoyed being there! 😍🤗

Short staffed. I was asked before I had even sat down what drink I would like. Food was delivered at separate times and wedge we got halfway through the meal. Coffee brought up before the dessert. Just service was poor because one lady was trying to do everything.

Had a very nice dinner, brilliant atmosphere, good service.

First and probably last time visiting, was really disappointed at the burger we was served. Burnt patty, bun and bacon. I have heard from others this is a great restaurant chain so possibly just an off day.

The food was great when it finally arrived. Took nearly an hour to come apparently there was a signal issue, the tablet couldn’t upload the order so the waitress had to do it manually. The kids macaroni cheese portion size is very small. My Daughter is an average 5 year old but I had to order her an additional macaroni cheese as the first one wasn’t enough for her. This is the second time in a row that there has been no Diet Coke. Diet Coke is a core line so is very strange it has not been available twice. There was also no Budweiser or appletize. I doubt I will be returning as there is no drink that I like. The pump lemonade tastes awful and the soft drink range is limited and not to my liking any more.

Location and ambiance was lovely

The waitress was very accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was stunning as always. Nothing this time could have been improved, other than more room in my tummy for that lovely banoffee pie

Very friendly staff - Alison in particular was very attentive and helpful. The food was spot on and we had a great experience at Miller & Carter Lakeside.

Bit chilly room temperature and food arrived warm but not hot. I think this is a very busy restaurant and because of this the quality has been reduced when compared to some other miller and carter restaurants I have visited.

I’ve experienced lots of dining at Miller and Carter at Lakeside. But this restaurant was very disappointing. To start with we were given a terrible table. We ordered our Long Island ice tea. But tasted like Little no alcohol we complained. and all that was added was extra lemon. No alcohol to which we complained again and drinks were re made. We ordered the butchers block. All steaks onion loaf and sauces were served stone cold. They offered to cook our food once again. But by this point we decided to leave. We had been shopping all day. And was looking forward to our evening meal. And was very disappointed and left hungry. Shame as we live so close. But will never return 😡😡😡

Waiting for one hour for main and restaurant empty, waste of time

We had a wonderful meal celebrating my dad's birthday. The food was great and the service even better. Our server Romy made it extra special, after hearing it was my dads birthday she surprised us all by bringing out a birthday treat of ice cream and cookies complete with a candle. She and the rest of the staff sang him happy birthday and made it a most memorable evening. Thank you!
