Miller & Carter in Three Rivers

I recently dined at Miller & Carter that redefined my understanding of "rare." I ordered my steak medium, but what arrived was so blue it could have been a Smurf. Sent it back to get cooked & waited 20 minutes to come back & by then my wife had finished hers & my Seasoned fries were Stone cold. The wait between courses was so long that I considered sending a postcard to my main course. By the time it arrived, I was contemplating whether to send it a thank-you note for finally showing up. As for the staff, they were as elusive as a unicorn. I half expected them to leave a trail of glitter behind them. When they did appear, it was like spotting a rare comet—brief and awe-inspiring. In summary, if you're looking for a dining experience that combines the thrill of a treasure hunt with the excitement of a mystery novel, this is the place for you. Just don't expect your steak to be cooked, your courses to arrive promptly.On the good side, the sticky Chipotle chicken was extremely nice.

Steaks perfectly cooked, tender, tasty. Sides and starters were immaculate. As my mother so eloquently put it "delish"

Nice quiet evening that allowed good friends to have a lovely meal and a good chat. Loved the strawberry sling!!

The car park has very poor and in large parts no lighting. This is very dangerous. We had someone who had mobility issues and she couldn’t see where she was walking. It will put us off coming back which is a shame, we enjoyed the food.

Had a really lovely long island cocktail yesterday. Monica was very chatty and provided a really great service. Staff in Rickmansworth is really lovely and helpful.

Went to Miller and carter in Rickmansworth with my family was seated and millie came over to be our server what can I say the food was amazing she also recommended a few items to oder and try out food was spot on thanks for the recommendations she was far too kind and really made our experience at the restaurant better wpuld definitely come back you need to hire more people like her she was good with the kids keeping them engaged

The steak was brilliant and very unexpected and flavourful lettuce with chili sauce!! Karina was incredibly friendly and attentive. Her warm personality made the evening even better.

Steak for lunch 😋 me and the family came, absolutely demolished the steaks and the kids loved the desserts. The sides were nice too, and even had a cheeky pint 🤫😂

Valentine’s night disaster 💌 So basically we turn up for a meal and have a babysitter - we end up being sat down 15 minutes late even though we were on time. The restaurant was very dark you couldn't see the steak and where the fat was along with being able to read the menu! The temperature on the restaurant was FREEZING - both of us were cold and we had our coats on. I ordered greens as I don't eat potato and there was ZERO mention that there were in Garlic. I'm allergic to garlic in big quantities but didn't feel the need to mention it as there was no mention of it. It was so strong my husband could smell from the other side of the table. Therefore I had nothing with my steak. The beef was very chewy and as mentioned you couldn't see where the fat was due to the light so we were constantly spitting out food which is disgusting. Finally, the mango pavlova had ZERO mention of some red sauce being drizzled all over it. This red sauce was VILE and ruined the whole dessert so I didn't eat it. Therefore, two menu options were ruined due to lack of FULL information about the ingredients. That's the point of a menu - to let people know what they will be eating! You can't keep key ingredients off the menu that could make people throw up! Finally we were half an hour late back to our babysitter and luckily she could stay but the whole experience was poor and cleary they over booked but it resulted in a poor, slow service on top of everything else. I even wrote to complain to Head Office and all they did was send a £10 voucher with no response. That’s an utter joke! £10 won’t even buy you a cocktail! I’m now waiting for some cheesy reply from the owner about how they’re grateful for the feedback they are but you have already lost a two customers from your restaurant so we don’t care! And we’ll tell everyone we know to avoid it! If you want to keep customers offer them more than a pathetic £10! Shows how much it matters to head office!

Had a lovely evening tonight at miller & Carter Rickmansworth. Nice warm welcome and friendly waiting staff. We didn’t wait long for anything and food came out hot and tasted beautiful as always. We will be back!

Really good birthday meal at miller and carter Rickmansworth,, our server Daniel was great very welcoming provided quick friendly service and nothing was too much trouble.

Manager was unbelievably rude, threw his hands in the air because we didn’t have a booking and walked off and said sorry you can’t come in when the restaurant was empty…

We came here yesterday for our dad’s birthday. There was a booking for 30 people. The service was second to none. All the waiters and waitresses got our food orders just right and kept the drinks flowing constantly asking if we had everything we needed. Food was great and all came out as ordered (which for a big group is really difficult). The restaurant let us decorate with balloons and banners which made the afternoon very special for my dad who said he had a wonderful time there.

Dinner was fabulous, we had the Sunday roast sharer platter and was served by Shannon who was just perfect she was so lovely and so attentive :) would definitely recommend to anyone!!

I can say I loved everything, we went for a Valentine's dinner and we just loved everything.

First time in Rickmansworth miller and carter. Was served by Becks and he gave us great service. Was friendly polite and also great sense of humour. Had the valentines sharing board. Food was cooked to perfection, compliments to the chef Would recommend this restaurant

I had a sirloin steak medium rare with sauted green! The steak was great, loved it all and the staff is great. Will be back there soon!

Food, service, staff and atmosphere 10/10

We went here for Valentine's as it's a restaurant I've heard a lot about from living in the local area and we were surprisingly disappointed. There are a few glaring issues which stumped our experience, the first being the quality of food. I've had better starters and steaks at Greene King, for a fraction of the price. On top of that, my steak was undercooked but this may have been the result of a busy kitchen. Some of the menu choices are very questionable too - see the image attached for the "salad" (slab of iceberg lettuce). The desserts were very small, but very flavourful and tasty. We wouldn't go here again because the quality was just not expected after hearing all these positive reviews

Feb25- Thurs night and it was relatively quiet. Staff friendly and helpful. Large venue and suitable for a party of 16 of us. Sat upstairs. Large venue and has a smart decor and lovely interior. Food was mediocre all said and done, atmosphere was good. Malbec delicious. Side of dressed wedge (lettuce) was an odd choice for a steak, and the onion bread is both a peculiar and interesting accompaniment too: like an onion bhaji but not! You can also get a side of ribs if you want!! Smoky harissa prawns which promised much and delivered less were overcooked and not sweet. The creme brulee was OK but had better.

I'll be requesting for my reservation fee refunded , because why would you take payment for a reservation and not have the table ready for the booked time, just for the staff to tell me they have 600 bookings, how about this suggestions, why not overbook people and charge them for a bad service. I would never be visiting again.

Always have a great time here- the food is always great and have the nicest staff! We’ve been served by Eddie a couple of times and he’s always been amazing! Such great service and guaranteed to make us smile!

Attended a family birthday at this restaurant Saturday night. Staff were great, Perfect timing inbetween starters/ mains and my rump steak did not disappoint. Highly recommended.

An absolutely yes for a Sunday lunch, we had a great time here, the attention was brilliant, the waitress spoke Spanish as well, he made our experience even better. The starters and mains were delicious, the dessert as well. The wine options were also good. Thank you very much.

Always brilliant food here and good value. Staff are very attentive in particular Shannon who is lovely and polite, and nothing is too much trouble for her. Our visits here are always enjoyable.

For a steak restaurant know how to cook steak! We asked for medium rare and we had a platter which all the steak was over cooked, one piece being well done! Very polite server but he was totally over stretched. We had to call to get attention and had empty glasses on more than one occasion. Server agreed meat was overcooked and went to get it replaced. This took over 20 mins by which time everyone had finished their mains. What we did have was tasty (apart from the steak!) Cocktail’s were very good.

Food was perfect as usual.. even went for lobster and that ain't me.. was perfect aswell!! Service was 10/10.. had Eddie serving us and was perfect as usual very funny man!! .. 12/10 overall as always!!!

We’ve come multiple times and the food has always been mediocre however every time we have come the manager has been nothing but rude ruining the experience and putting us off food. Even just stepping through the door we have been given vile looks making us feel unwelcome for spending money in this establishment.

We had amazing service from Shannon and Becks, the food was delicious. At the end of the night, a little sweet treat was brought to the table, along with 'Happy Birthday' written on the plate. Excellent service, portion sizes were wholesome - no fancy food with small amounts, they serve to feed! I thought the mains was fabulous till the dessert came along, got even better!

Love M&C, especially for special occasions. We celebrated our anniversary here tonight and the service couldn’t have been better—Eddie was amazing, friendly, and funny. He made an already great evening even better with his wit and attentiveness. Highly recommend!!

Just overall a terrible experience, could not wait to get out, overpriced for what you get, the onion loaf was not fit to eat, overall food was cold, plates just shoved on table , place was not even that clean . Management need to have a get together and see where they are going wrong and what they can do to improve , restaurant is situated in a beautiful setting, that's about the highlight of this place.

I live locally and miller and Carter in Ricky is located at a beautiful spot. The steaks are brilliant but the service we received this time was appalling. The experience was far from perfect. It’s a festive time and I brought my family to have a great experience there but from the start the table we got was not good it was in the middle of everyone walking when I specifically mentioned we will come with a baby. Additionally staff was moody, I wasn’t made aware in advance that they don’t serve festive menu after 5pm on a Saturday on 21st Dec which is weird but anyways it’s best to make customer aware in advance. I guess customer is not king anymore but least we can expect is to have an enjoyable experience. I love the steaks at Miller and Carter but after the customer service we received from the staff I would think twice before booking again.

Great food, great atmosphere but the greatest part was our server (Becks). Really funny guy and honestly the best waiter I've ever had, earned a big tip. Will definitely go back.
