Miller and Carter Steak House in Leeds

Not local so just stopped by for a nice lunch, James was our server and was really helpful, he helped us with the app and provided great service!

Food freezing cold stake chewing burnt well asked for medium waited 30 minutes for a starter and freezing food sat in there two hours to eat lettuce and cold mash had to send the main back it was that bad service slow don’t book waste of time

Food was bang on as always but the service left a lot to be desired.

Lovely attentive staff member called Jessica. Food arrived in good time and was lovely and cooked right. My only complaint is the state of the venue as it looks tired compared to other Miller & Carter's. The carpet, exterior of the building for example looks tired and in need of a refurb. It's in complete contrast to the Leeds Light one, which is why I was surprised to see the state of this one. We will be back though but hope the latter comments are taken on board.

James was a great server! He had some fun with us, but also sorted out any issues super quick. Food was really nice, but some was a bit like warm. Fried calamari was a bit 'soggy' (not crispy), so would only give 3* for food.

Our overall stay was too long, 6.30 to 9pm. Food was exceptional. Service was very good despite the long wait between courses

Food was ok, not great considering the price. Service was great. What lets it down is the fact the restaurant is a dump and needs some serious investment. Filthy tables and menus, rotten windows, carpet worn away, disgusting toilets and it looks dilapidated from the outside

Booked for Valentine’s Day 9pm. Had to pay £20 booking fee. Didn’t get seated or speak to a waiter until 10:30pm. Got up and left early and paid for our drinks. Didn’t even get offered to have our drinks paid for. Horrible service and night ruined. Wont be coming back.

Amazing service from James. Very friendly and accommodating. Helpful when we asked questions about steak choices :). Food was stunning as always!

Excellent way to enjoy my 22nd birthday. Amazing food and we couldn't ask for anymore from James he was amazing. Anyone coming definitely try the butchers block sharing plater. Steaks so juicy and tender. Just melts in your mouth.

Perfect food for your money, but please add cranberry sauce to your camembert mash 😋

Top class food . Waited over an hour for our meal . Cocktails could be better. Think Horsforth Miller n Carter needs a minor refurbishment looks a little shabby . Enjoyed our meal 😋 which is the main thing . Will be back x

I went to Miller and Carter on Saturday for a family birthday and we had a lovely time. The service was spot on by Petra and I felt they left enough time between courses for you to enjoy each one without being rushed on to the next one . The food was lovely as always. I love all the little extras you get with it like the lettuce and onion loaf. Good atmosphere although not that busy (maybe due to the weather) and look forward to going again soon.

James, our steak expert - was kind and funny. I’ve not been to a miller and Carter before and he was very good at explaining the menu, and what I’d like based on like.

Really nice place and food is amazing

My husband and I came for our Christmas dinner with friends. It was busy, too busy. Our poor waitress was running around and trying her best, but more help was needed. We waited too long for our main to arrive & the other customers around us were frustrated also. When the main came, it was warm, not hot. It went cold very quickly. Not good especially for hungry children. I didn't want to complain to the waitress who was doing her best & had already been shouted at twice. This is the opposite of the standard I have come to expect from Miller and Carter.

Had an amazing meal this evening, our waiter James was impeccable, couldn't do enough. Would highly recommend Horsforth Miller and Carter to anyone.

Cody was our server and she made our visit very enjoyable food was excellent could you look to serving the food on hot plates as it goes cold very quickly

Table was booked for 2.45 on Christmas Day sat down at 3.50pm left at 7.20pm. 4 of our party pre ordered the turkey dinner,what turned up was rather disappointing. 1 roast potatoe, a spoonful of mash hidden under the turkey which itself was dry and hard, probably because it was left on the pass for so long. For £99 ph wouldn’t go again.

It was a Christmas day booking and all the food was reordered. We arrived before our booked time. We were seated 30 minutes late. It was an hour before our first course arrived. A further 80 minutes before the main course arrived and a further 30 minutes before desert. The whole meal took over 3 hours.

Went for a year anniversary and loved everything from the food to the service. We were served by Lou and was met with a friendly and welcoming experience. A smart casual dining experience that is great for a relaxed evening out.

We visited on Boxing Day and met by happy friendly staff. Morgan was our very attentive and friendly hostess. Meal was very good and the atmosphere was excellent. Thank you

Waiting a long time for drinks and then starter. It was not busy at the time we went. Food was tasty and plentiful and good value. I think the steak could have been slightly better quality for a fillet. I would say more of a texture of sirloin. My grans veg was burnt or overdone and inedible. All in all we had a good meal, however, there was not much taken off the bill given the amount we spent! We will try a different miller and carter next time as the food was generally really nice and good value!

Never disappointed when I come to millers, the staff are always welcoming . Our steak expert Jessica was fantastic and very helpful . Would recommend to everyone

Had an absolutely brilliant meal with my dad and grandparents here! James was a great server and looked after us and especially my Grandma who couldn't eat everything & put her meal in a box to take home.

We came to try out the new Sunday lunch platter, but wasn’t aware until we arrived, that it had been stopped for the festive menu. I was a little disappointed, but we still had a lovely dinner. Servers were fabulous!

This branch of miller and carters is very poor. Service was extremely slow. Waited over 20 minutes just for someone to take our food orders. Regularly forgotten. Our creamed spinach side was forgotten (which they did sub). However it was mostly cream sauce, lacking in spinach. We ordered the butchers block to share. We ordered the fillets rare. The steaks were incorrectly cooked, they were completely blue and cold. The rib eye was okay, but a very chewy flat piece of steak. Overcooked. The rump was nice. Cooked okay. Overall, very poor experience. Waited continually for service, got forgotten regularly. Food was incorrect and poorly cooked. Many better branches of miller and carters elsewhere

Went for a meal with some friends, food was amazing as always. Hannah who served us was brilliant really attentive and answered any questions, amazing service.

As it was my 50th birthday meal with my husband we shared the Butchers block. If you enjoy meat this is so good. They certainly know how to cook the meat to get the best. The bone marrow was also amazing and could have had a bone each rather than sharing. Can't wait to book again.

Declan served our meals tonight and was great, food did not disappoint and will be returning.

The service was excellent, the atmosphere beautiful. We skipped the starters and plumped straight for the steaks, I had a T-Bone, medium rare. Very nicely cooked, however it was under-seasoned and didn't have the wow factor taste I look for. My wife had a sirloin, asked for medium but it was medium well at least, and quite dry in parts. The waiter discounted a dessert but being quite a pricey meal it didn't really offer much in the way of compensation. Salad wedge very pleasant, sides and sauces good quality. Wine was reasonable and very nice selection. Deserts ok, but sticky toffee pudding wasn't swimming in sauce which I feel it should be. Would we return? Perhaps, but might try elsewhere.

Staff are exceptional. Food is mouthwatering. Only down side is the entrance to the car park is off a roundabout, bit dangerous if cars are behind you and you gave to slow to enter car park

Your food was lovely and cooked exactly as requested and your steak experience really is amazing. Your service however wasn’t up to it’s normal standard and I felt the place wasn’t as pleasant as it has been in the past. What was worse was the other diners. At the booking stage the dress code is mentioned as smart/casual but the majority of diners were in baseball caps and full tracksuits. I was unlucky enough to sit next to a family who could only get their child to sit down by playing videos on a phone at a volume that could be heard across the whole restaurant though this wasn’t an isolated case and seem to be happening at more than just this table, to be fair I did complain to the waitress and she politely addressed it with them . I just felt like standards like dress codes needs enforcing and guests should be expected to behave with respect and manors. I also felt like the decoration was becoming tired and dated like rusty dinted radiators and extremely chipped woodwork and dirty carpets. I would compare my experience last night to that of a hungry horse and not somewhere charging premium prices

Look, for all the challenges of chain restaurants, we should give credit where it is due. The steaks here are good quality, well cooked and good value. Sure the venue is slightly underwhelming but it is hard to beat, and stacks up well against folks who charge a lot more.

Lou was brilliant, very attentive and friendly. The Sunday roast sharing platter was extremely tasty. Will be back!

We always love coming here. The food and ambience are superb. The waiting staff are always good, especially Kelly who is always smiling, is extremely helpful and very good at her job.

Was served by new member of staff Abbie she was great. A great addition to the team. She was lovely and friendly and very attentive. Always great food made even better by our waitress.

Just had another fabulous meal here. Whenever we fancy a treat out, this Is where we come. We came this evening with our daughter who is autistic and struggles with sensory issues. We were really greatful that, when I asked for a specific table, that was not set up for service, in a quieter area of the restaurant, they were more than happy to accommodate, without any questions or fuss. We had a lovely evening. Never had a negative comment to make in all the years we have visited. Not the cheapest of places to eat - but excellent quality every time.

We came here a day after our wedding to celebrate just the two of us. The staff were friendly but didn’t receive steak knives. The waitress forgot our drinks so we received them whilst eating our main. The food was delicious just felt our service was a lot slower than others around us. The staff member could have been new.
