Millennium Balti in Birmingham

Ordered one with my mum today, seriously one of the best Baltis I've ever had. We had a Chicken Tikka Madras and a Malabar Lamb and they were honestly so flavoursome with generous meat portions. Peshwari Naan and Keema Rice were delicious, as were are Chicken Tikka and Tandoori Chicken starters. Really can't go wrong for the price, this place is a hidden gem!

Have been coming here intermittently for years, an has always been absolutely spot on. Came again tonight and had another fantastic curry. The chicken madras is a standout. Great staff, great food, off licence next door; a perfect recipe.

A bit late as food was on it's way then was delayed.Food was good but Nan was plain not garlic.

The waiter was extremely rude and never offered us poppadoms but soon as a couple come in he rush over to give them sauces and poppadoms the workers stood around talking in their own language and I was told very abruptly I can't share my curry even before I made my order my curry was a lump of onions tomato and tbh I wouldn't recommend it or ever eat in there again

Gorgeous tasting food and plenty of it.

Went with my family and was greeted with very rude looks from the workers as if they didn’t want us there, one of the workers has such disgusting attitude and another would just stand there watching us eat and the curry was just full of onions and like 4 pieces of chicken! don’t go here if you aren’t white because you can tell that’s who they favour, they gave us nothing when we sat down but as soon as a white couple walked in they were greeted with a stack of poppadoms and a jug of water before they had even ordered their food!

Fabulous food as usual. Amazing staff. My favourite curry house. Been going here for over 10 years. Can’t beat it. Grand x

Outstanding, so much flavour and love in their cooking. We have been ordering takeaway for two years, and to be honest I can never get tired of their food, I guess we are now loyal customers. Please keep up the hard work!

Tasty food delivered right on time. The seekh kebab was a bit chewy but other than that the food was a winner!

Several items of my order was missing, really disappointed

Brought some food for myself and my son it was bad the egg fried rice was bland and watery the madras balti was horrible neither of us could eat it the chicken was wrong the chicken pakora "sorry not sure of the spelling here" was dry and tasteless not good at all the cracker thing you get was bendy for crying out loud. We ordered two naan breads one was tiny I mean wow tiny but the second one was what you would of expected the normal one to be but it was ment to be the large one so still not good even though they were the better tasting part of this order so yea we had to throw the food that had cost all in £35 the "pakoras were £5 for four and were very small around two centimetres square ridiculous to be honest and like I said were dry but here's the thing usually either my son or myself can eat the food you know but this was a rare occasion that we both said nope this is bad and both said this has to be binned except the naans that were edible but small and forget about even trying the cracker thing like I said it was bendy! BENDY it's literally in the name cracker yea all in all this was a terrible waste of money that I can't afford to just be chucking in the bin we were gutted so you know we will not be ordering anything from these people any time soon.

Got a delivery last night, lamb bhuna was alright. Rice was crap, chips were soggy and stale. Naan breads were thin and crispy. Pakoras were the worst I've tasted in my life. Getting charged £32.50 for disgusting food is a joke. I'll never buy from this place again.

Excellent food, terrible delivery. I am disabled and live in sheltered accommodation but the delivery driver was refusing to enter the building, "because it's a block of flats and we're not allowed to go in." What about the hundreds of others who do?

The food never disappoints, but the delivery is getting longer and longer every time. 1hr45mins! Called to chase, told 15 minutes, was still a little over half hour after that; but website shows an hour when you order

First time visiting this place this evening and I have to say the food was lovely and the staff we're fantastic. Definitely worth a visit ( and return visits! ) great prices too.

Shocking service 30 minutes waiting for collection after advised ready to collect. Food tasted funny lamb bhuna tasted like a sweet an sour sauce and the chicken tikka balti was watery and lacked flavour. Not a good experience and will not order again from here

Delicious food i will order this again and again

The food was late and very disappointing. Chicken tikka was unlike any I have had before and not in a good way. Chicken was extremely dry, even in the curry. I would not recommend eating here.

was quite disappointed with my meal tonight ordered chicken tikka madras and got some chicken with some spices thrown on it didn't resemble any chicken tikka I've had before definitely not been marinated as it was quite flavourless had the same with my mixed kebab starter. it was edible but not enjoyed.

Over 2 hours wait time for delivery, food was barely warm, hugely disappointing.

Came to Milennium to have a meal with our family to celebrate my partners birthday. We love to come here and have been coming here for quite a few years now and always enjoyed it. We have visually impaired family members and the staff are always welcoming and supportive when we arrive and ensure we are well looked after throughout our visit. I had fish pakora and sea bass (fancied double fish this time) and it neither disappointed. My partners brother doesn't like his taste buds much so he enjoyed the naga, which he is developing quite a taste for. They do a special where you get a starter, a main and a side as well as coffee or ice cream to finish. We always have this. Their best starters in my opinion are chana chom chom and chicken chaat on puri. I'd recommend the Chettinad lamb, any of the fish dishes and the chicken or vegetable dhansak. I don't recommend the prawn cocktail, I've heard it's lovely, but when you have freshly cooked Indian food on offer, why would you? See you soon. Just a couple of weeks until my birthday!

Food ok but the service was terrible .had to wait one hour from end of starters to get the main course .attitude of the waiter was terrible .the air conditioning is always on and makes the place very cold as the table was directly underneath it

Order over uber for the first time. Had high hopes for the chicken garlic masala but it was really not upto the mark, first of all it was sweet and secondly it lacked salt. Nothing really stands out.

Awful delivery service, hour & 40 minutes, then the order was missing the nan bread, by the time it came we'd eaten it, which by the way was luke warm and very bland, always use millennium for either a sit down or delivery service, never again I can promise you that. What am I supposed to do with a Peshawar nan & an already eaten balti that's how long it took for the nan to be delivered, no refund either, driver just sped off, abysmal. Avoid this restaurant.

Ordered for collection on a Saturday evening, order was actually ready 5 mins before the estimated time, staff were friendly, restaurant was busy too which is great to see, and the food was really delicious. Interesting menu with a fair few regional dishes, great to see some options outside the norm. A great choice.

Ordered on Monday food was amazing. ordered today, over 2 hours to get here (1 mile away) poppadoms smashed to bits, baltis were full of water, bland. was like chicken soup. hardly any garlic in the tiny naan breads,no apology for the lateness. shocking. what have you done? changed chief? or let a child practise cookery club. horrible food. never again

Brilliant food and service on New Years day!, travelled from Australia, grew up in local area of Solihull Lodge and used to come here with my mates.. just been with my dad second time since I've been back, always good food and friendly service.. definitely recommend! All the best happy new year

This Indian will always be my number one go to. I’ve never gone and sat in. Always had it ordered and I always get the same guy delivering. He makes my day! Super energetic, remembers names, has a laugh. The food is just unreal! Amazing portions and always fresh. Love love love this place

First time ordering from here just came across by accident. Food was amazing, we chose the £14.50 meal and was amazed at the quanity of food but also the quality. Very very tasty dishes, lovely chicken in nice portions, 5/5 without a doubt. Amazing!

Food was generally cooked well, subtly flavoured for the most part. Spicy dishes and allergens were clearly labelled. Lots of variety on the menu. The physical menu is a little more extensive than the online version. Service was on the slower side, although staff were nice and polite. Complimentary coffee or ice cream is available after the meal, and chocolates with the bill, which are nice touches.

With regret I must write this negative review. One star is for the quality of the food only, which wasn't bad. It's the SERVICE that was utterly deplorable last night. Our family has been visiting Millennium Balti for years after my parents found it once when they were visiting me. My elderly father really wanted to go there last night as he's loyal to supporting this local business and the staff are usually friendly. Not last night. Granted, it was BUSY. However we did book in advance. The table we were shown to was not properly laid and there were no glasses, napkins or drinks menu. We were quickly served poppadums but our drinks order was not taken for ages (we used a menu from another table). We ordered food and still no napkins or glasses. I asked for them and we got given some glasses but not napkins so I had to go and physically get them myself which was a bit embarrassing having to explain this to the poor guy behind the counter. My dad made it very clear he wanted a king prawn balti. But he got served a dry chicken dish that he did not want. He sent it back requesting the king prawn balti. What eventually arrived (he'd eaten his rice side dish by this point) was a king prawn tandoori but I didn't realise this until after my dad requested some balti sauce to go with it because it was so dry. This then duly arrived. We enjoyed our meals but we never felt we could ask the waiters anything because they were always dealing with other customers and nobody asked if they could help with anything. When it came to desserts, we ordered one thing from the menu that someone else in our party wanted. My dad just wanted some ice cream. The waiter said "That's only available if we give it to you for free". I asked if this could be arranged and he confirmed it could. He asked me if I wanted a desert. I asked if the complimentary ice cream could be extended to me too. He replied that if I wanted a dessert, I could choose something from the menu (i.e. a paid item). I declined. Later once the desserts appeared, the same waiter asked me again if I wanted to choose a dessert from the menu. Again I declined, somewhat perplexed. Was he trying to make a point, that I did not quality for a 'free ice cream'? Other diners in the restaurant were being served complimentary ice cream. They also appeared to be dining from tables that had glasses and napkins on there. So really we felt a little put out. Anyway, I went to settle the bill and to my surprise, the additional balti sauce that my dad had ordered as they got his meal wrong, was added to the bill. Not wishing to make a scene and managing elderly father and other family members, I just paid it but did not leave a tip. And today I am thinking that we will NEVER come to Millenium Balti again. The staff were rude, inattentive and the service was beyond sloppy. Most of all, we felt so unwelcome there. Well, don't worry Millennium Balti because we won't trouble you with our presence again. Thankfully there are other much nicer restaurants in the area selling similar south Asian cuisine, and who understand what it is like to provide a little bit of basic customer service.

Massive order, arrived on time, fantastic food

Driver got lost ... Then when he arrived he hinted that I order from somewhere closer to my home because it took him 30 mins to get to me. Don't they have Sat navs ??? He also said that in the comment section that I should enter my personal phone number so they can ring me when they get lost in traffic. You simply couldn't make it up...

Best curry we've had in a while, not oily or greasy, really tasty, rice was abit undercooked. delivery took 1 hour 35 minutes from ordering so maybe we just order for collection in the future.

I used to go here regularly until Covid and changes in circumstances. Returned this evening for the first time in 3 years. Has been refurbished and different floor plan. Nice welcome . Owner,/Manager remembered me as well as a few of the waiters. Good service and meals and portion sizes were great. £13.95 for starter, main, rice/naan/ roti/ chips (choice of) and a coffee or ice cream. Bargain. Nice to go back.
