Mill Lodge Beefeater in North Kesteven

Mill Lodge, Lincoln. 5055 Geoff was a fab host, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent all round. 2 Sunday roasts, fillet steak and mixed grill. Will definitely be going again.

I stayed at the premier inn and the restaurant is next door, when we went in it struck me that the glass on the doors was grubby to all doors and could do with a clean we ordered a drink at the bar and had to wait for quite a while to be served, it was obvious they did not have enough staff even though the restaurant was quite empty, we took our drink outside to the garden all the tables where full of dirty plates and glasses which did not look great, we went into the restaurant and ordered our meal which took quite a while even though the place was relatively empty, we waited and waited and then managed to get the waiter to ask when the bottle of wine would come, he went away and came back full of apologies saying that they had not received the order, he gave, it eventually arrived, our meal was delivered and as we had had quite a bad experience we were determined to enjoy it, i ordered fillet steak, when i went to cut it with the steak knife provided it was extremely difficult, i tried in a few places but it was just gristle all the way through, i didn't want to make a scene so i left the table to have a quite word with the waitress she came across and looked at it an agreed that it was very bad and said sometimes you get a bad one it depends on whats delivered, she asked if i wanted to change it but i said i would just leave it, my wife started to eat hers which was a rump steak and half of hers was the same we showed to the waitress and she agreed and took it away she did say that neither would be charged for which was good, the garlic prawns and truffle butter where a complete ripoff i don't know if they have ever had them, the prawns were burnt and dried up and the truffle butter tasteless, maybe we just were unlucky but the lack of staff seemed to be an issue that was noticeable to everyone, the whole place needs a good clean, starting with the windows and window seals, the whole interior is in dire need of a good clean and a makeover, i would not recommend this to anyone and we certainly will not be going again. breakfast seemed a bit better service i only had a light breakfast steering clear of the cooked food.

Stopped off here for an impromptu mid week tea with my partner and 3 kids. The choice was great for everyone and good value. We were served by Sarah who was friendly and really good with the kids

My two friends and I fancied getting out as I’ve been ill and we had some entertainment in Devember when we came here .. Anyway, want to say to start with thst uour staff were wonderful, a real credit ! Loveky lladies, friendky and helpful however we feel part of the meal was over charged. The menu makes it appear like you’re getting a surf and turf however i was quite upset and annoyed to find afterwards that £1.99 for a knob of butter , £3.99 for 2 single, small prawns that may or may mot have been shown dome garlic butter but by that point were very hard and rubbery and £1 for a trickle of habanero sauce - £6.98 was added to my bill so slthougj I got my blue light discount of 25%, approximately £10, £7 of this was taken back by beefeater for these measly offerings!! The meal was soured we felt by the greed of the ‘establishment’ by charging for such insignificance! My friend was also charged this amount do £14 of our bill was we felt overpaid! On the menu it says you can buy a bottle if the sauces do we asked for a bottle of the habanero- we were instead brought a tiny dish of the sauce - being told its the other sauces you can buy as a bottle but then we were charged £1 each for a tiny amount! Other than that food great- The chocolate brownie sundae and the biscoff sundaes were fantastic however - really delicious!

I have been a long standing breakfast customer there's been a few issues but usually staff resolve them . Today I went for breakfast and the coffee machine was broken ..I get these things happen that's not my complaint. I was charged for a childs breakfast even tho it clearly states on the website 2 children under 16 eat with every paying adult. Today it was 2 adults and 1 15 year old . When I challenged this the young server said ..." we changed it in December " When i pointed out that it says that on the website today she shrugged saying website isn't up to date we haven't had any one to do it yet When I said then it should be clearly signed in the restraunt before people eat ..I mean what if someone couldn't pay the bill because they didn't have enough ??? She again shrugged .... I then realised she was not going to help so askd for an email to customer services...she said " soz don't know it " when I asked if she could ask someone she said no one knows it ...only the manager and they ain't here ... worst customer services I have ever received and that's saying something Sadly I don't think I will be returning after that ...my child basicly has toast and a yoghurt and im not paying full adult breakfast price for that . whoever the blonde one was today needs training in customer service she literally has no skills at all Please either update the website or provide in resteraunt signs to update customers on this change to save someone else having to have this conversation

Thank you to ALL staff working super hard at the Beefeater Lincoln today - you have made a Mum very happy! I didn’t prepare, make, or clear up after breakfast today - I enjoyed a hot, tasty full English, with toast, a latte and muffin! The selection, variety and quality of food was incredible, considering how busy it was. I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. The service was efficient, well managed and delightful :)

Me and a friend was served by Geoff at mill Lodge at bracebridge. ... he was very friendly and helpful... making it a pleasure being there....the food was also very lovely ....and at the right portion size....

Used some points for free starter. Geoff was very patient and attentive while we started out the points.

Very good food at realistic prices. Huge flat car park directly opposite the Bomber Command Memorial. Has hotel accommodation sharing car park. 15 minutes drive from Lincoln centre. Friendly and efficient staff all around. Single floor, with main toilets just inside door and wheelchair accessible toilet further in. Wide and varied menu with sensible prices.

Tried to eat here Sunday and the oven was broken. Same happened last time we wanted to eat here last summer!! Beefeater please invest in another Oven instead of repairing a ropey one!

Had a steak, absolutely fabulous, my friend had a chicken lunch which she says was lovely. staff were prompt and helpful . the place is very pleasant and well worth a visit. Reasonable prices.

Fantastic place for your steaks, flamed grilled too. The service was good from Sharon with regular visits to the table for your feedback. Prices are not too bad either for the quality of food. I'd definitely recommend this place for daytime or evening meals. T

Think the chef needs to go to night school. Over cooked starters (calamari) 9 chips in the main steak so tuff it went back. Oily tomatoe half, very oily mushroom, calamari again like pork scratchings.... Yes I told the staff

Our family were in Lincoln for my Aunt's funeral. It was a sad occasion, and our family drove up the night before. We ate that evening and were served by a great chap called Joney H. He was a credit to the company and nothing was too much trouble. We had a great evening.

Food very good, service awful. Waited 30mins for drinks, didn't clear plates etc, never brought sweet menu. Terrible. And now 2 of the diners have stomach upset.

Couldn’t fault our server, so attentive and made our quick stop for food really enjoyable, thank you Lily!!

In short: This meal was legendary. Lilly deserves a raise, a trophy, and possibly a holiday named after her. If you’re thinking about eating here, stop thinking and just do it. We have been for breakfast early this morning. The food was great and the staff were brilliant, especially Geoff who was really smiley and cheered us up no end. I don't know how just two of them coped helping us all at 08:15 because the place was getting full even then! I have never seen so many people having breakfast on a Sunday morning.

Right, I don’t understand how I had to wait 30 minutes for drinks, 40 minutes for food and 20 minutes for desert. Today was not good. I have been here for breakfast and it was amazing. Why was it such a long wait time there was only around 15 people. I don’t want to come back.

Ordered small haddock and chips sent chips back they were cold and if the fish was haddock it must have been on a diet because it was very flat and very greasy grey in colour

Saturday afternoon came for quick and easy feed,ordered ribeye steak 'medium' came out looking like that burger we all considered at 2am pissed up at a friend's bbq but ultimately rejected-after first cut I was hoping at least a bit of seasoning might help me but alass not even a left shoulders worth landed, so I chewed away with all my might, unfortunately only me and Gandhi know this dryness

Haven’t been here for dinner so can’t leave a review about that. Came in for a breakfast here and was very impressed. £10.99 for an all you can eat hot breakfast and that includes continental things and bottomless coffee or tea and juice. Everything was very tasty, can’t fault a thing. Staff very friendly as well. Would recommend to come for breakfast. Will definitely be back.

The short haired woman at the entrance is super rude, condescending Karen. Left and went somewhere with great service and food. Do not recommend this place! Save your money and go elsewhere.

They have a deal on currently where you get two courses and a drink for £18.99. When we got there we had bad service from one of the workers called James. We asked about the menu and his attitude changed towards us. When James brought out our food, he almost dropped the plate on one of our party’s knees and did not even apologise. No wonder the restaurant was quiet when you have bad costumer service such as we received. However, the food was not that bad overall.

We have been there for lunch on three occasions recently and found it to be excellent value for money and an enjoyable eating out experience. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the triple-cooked chips were superb. The only thing we would like to see changed would be to be able to add a gratuity to the bill when paying by card.

Lovely venue and always had a beautiful meal when attending. Shame the service let's it down. Every time we have been, it hasn't been overly busy, yet you wait ages to be served. We stood for around 5 minutes on all occasions at the booking area, to be ignored by staff just chatting away at the bar/clearing breakfast. A simple "we won't be 2 minutes" to actually acknowledge your presence, rather than being completely ignored, wouldn't go amiss.

Lovely food and great service from James and his colleagues. The only disappointment was that I couldn't leave a tip by card, as I didn't have any cash on me. As a solo diner I wasn't made to feel awkward, which can sometimes happen, and I wasn't rushed or relegated to a pokey table, which has definitely happened to me before. Very happy with my experience tonight and would definitely recommend.

Friendly welcome and great large helping of food served quickly. So full we took delicious dessert with us to adjacent Premier Inn and ate later. So good we visited second night and served well by H James. Prompt and amiable.

Wife and I decided to try this place out for lunch today and although the food was really nice, what stood out the most was Lily who ran around back and forth to ensure our food was top tier! Both of us will definitely be coming back again in hopes to be served by Lily.

OK so the menu in Beefeater is the same everywhere.... 😂 What makes Mill Lodge Beefeater stand out is the staff - they are really hard-working, attentive and prompt. Proper Grafters. These guys don't miss a trick. I was served by James H, he's always on his A game but you can see his other colleagues serving other people working just as hard. Decent staff in places like this don't get the respect they deserve in this country. Give them a smile next time you are eating here!

Great place to meet with friends. Friendly staff, great coffee and all you want from a good old fashioned breakfast.

We found hair inside the ribs and inside the burger (physically stuck in the rib meat and burger bun). We notified staff, and the manager refunded the ribs as we didn't want a new one - however their hospitality attitude leading up to that was appaling. Their first words on being notified of their being hairs was "our chefs do not have dark hair" (our whole table had dark hair) and when I said I didn't want the ribs at all, she said she'll refund us but "not the whole meal" which I replied "of course not" I had never once implied we wanted the whole table refunded but their dialogue and attitude implied we wanted to get a free meal out of them even though we didn't touch the ribs or burger... There was never even an apology, and the manager was still saying "our chefs do not have dark hair" as they left which I replied "I don't know what to tell you" as the hair was stuck inside the food (not on top)! Abysmal reaction to our complaint, we will not be eating here again. In addition, they had supply issues (which we appreciate are out of their control) however the waiter and waitress were lovely - it was just their manager who seems to lack appropriate hospitality skills.

Very restricted menu due to logistical problems within the organisation.

On arrival, we waited around 15 minutes to be seated because there were simply no staff around at the bar or reception, although we had booked a table for the time we arrived. The person who seated us muttered something about a warehouse problem, and gave us a list of 20 items that weren't available on the menu. The lady who served us at the table was wonderful, warm and helpful. However, the menu shortages meant that one of our party couldn't get any of the dishes she wanted, and our food score is a reflection of that.

Went for a big family Christmas get together. There had unfortunately been supply issues so was a limited menu. However, our server James was great. Looked after the whole group (was over 20 of us) and ensured we all had a good experience

An absolute disgrace by Beefeater Mill Lodge. Boxing Day lunch was ruined by poor service, poor food with no atmosphere at all. Our family of 9 where there for over 3 hours to the point that 3 of the Turkey dinners were ruined by burnt gravy. Other meals in the party where barely warm let alone hot. At no point were we asked if everything was OK or even asked if anyone wanted a drink. I requested to speak to the duty manager and 3 times I was declined as the duty manager was "to busy to see us". A deduction was made by the team leader who was very apologetic on the final bill but we would have all preferred the meal that we booked and not fobbed off with excuses. It was clear that they were very much out of their depth and had taken far too many reservations with very few staff to cover them. I would NOT recommend Mill Lodge to anyone given their overall performance yesterday in particular the kitchen staff and the so called Duty Manager who seemed to do a disappearing act!! The team leader that dealt with the situation was very understanding but it was obvious that his hands were tied to provide us with a better experience.

Just back from a family Christmas lunch. Only four of us but the service, food and atmosphere were spot on. Sorry not to take then name of our waitress, blonde hair with blue tips. She was exemplary and a credit to the venue. All staff were good but shout out to her. Would thoroughly recommend.

Went with work colleagues, so quite a few of us . Girl behind bar looked like she couldn't be bothered, place wasn't full so no excuse. I had xmas turkey, tepid, in fact the only food on the plate that was red hot was burned to a crisp. Thank god the gravy turned up....Service was good as we'd pre ordered our food... won't return

Had to leave and go somewhere else due to alot of food on the menu not available no prior warning or communication though booking had been made 3/4 weeks and all contact was available to inform of issue. There was no offer of complimentary gesture for inconvenience no real service offered. Won’t return

Arrived today for Lunch . Obviously Xmas parties going on but lots tables free. No one to greet and seat,so we seated ourselves at a table for 2 then went for menus. The waitress asked if we had booked but we had nt. She then asked someone if she could accept us as walk ins?? She was told no,so we left. We thought that was rude she could of apologised and explained better as to why . It was the first time we chose to visit the Beefeater and probably the last We understand it's Christmas but there was plenty of unreserved tables .

Truly dreadful excuse for a Christmas lunch. Ordered the prawn cocktail starter from the set 2 course menu. Huge bowl which looked promising from a distance only then to find hardly any prawns and a ridiculous amount of lettuce and cucumber. Followed that disappointment with the festive turkey dinner. What a mistake! Two of the tiniest pieces of turkey, a disc of stuffing the size of a one pound coin, a Yorkshire that had been chiselled out of granite, and a selection of greens that felt they had just been pulled out of the ground. Add to that been brought a Peroni instead of the ordered Corona and a 20 min wait for three teas afterwards. The place was jammed, so noisy that we couldn't hear each other talking and the heating that made it too uncomfortable. And the cost of this debacle? £75! There must be better places to spend £75 on three Christmas dinners

We were staying at the Premier Inn next door so came for dinner on the 30th of November at 7.30pm .Will took our order,I had the fish and chips and biscoff sundae , my husband had the burger and sticky toffee pudding.It was very, very busy but we didn't have to wait long for our food.The food was lovely and cooked to perfection . When it came to paying the bill there was a bit of confusion as the bill was to low ,we were having the meal deal which also included breakfast in the morning.We mentioned this Will who tried to check it on the till but the till would not bring it up so he asked us to speak to staff in the morning.All was resolved in the morning.Will is only 16 years old and Saturday night was his 3rd shift.Service from Will was very good and he did try to resolve the problem.All the staff were great especially as it was so busy.

A little trouble with my reservation but other than that the food was nice, it was reasonably priced and they even took blue light cards.

Refused drinks at 10.05 pm on Saturday 23rd November 2024. We were informed that the bar closes at 10pm evenings and 9pm on Sundays. No last orders were called so very disappointed. We had travelled over 180 miles and had meet relations for drinks, which turned out to be 1 drink. Not acceptable when this is the establishment attached to the Premier inn hotel we were staying in.

Have been twice in the last month and the butternut squash not available. If your a vegetarian don’t bother going pity as the staff are a all excellent and helpful but apparently they do not serve for vegetarians. So of course we had to walk out both times. They don’t even serve a jacket potato. Sorry but it’s really not the eating place it used to be.

Myself and my mate went here for a breakfast buffet and it was disgusting. All the for was swimming in oil ie eggs ,bacon,sausage black pudding and it tasted disgusting to .Upset my stomach for 24 hours ,making me feel sick. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN .IT WAS HORRIBLE AND THEY HAD THE CHEEK TO CHARGE £22.00 FOR THIS BREAKFAST AND I WOULD NOT FEED MY DOG THIS GARBAGE. ONE TO AVOID .....NOT HAPPY

Being a sad occasion after a visit to the crem it was the place to meet up with family to remember the departed soul. Found the spread of food a good selection in a back room for the event. Looked quite busy for the restaurant side while there, a popular place by the look

Started well , attended without booking on Friday lunchtime. They found a table for us. Ordered two Coffees whilst we waited for our main meal. Staff were excellent and pleasant to start with. Coffees took forever and arrived slightly before the meal. They were Luke warm at best so clearly been sitting around . Main meal was a plate of two halves. Steak was very nice, chips were like the coffee , luke warm but okay. After requesting the bill, getting the bill took as long as getting the Coffees and eventually got our coats on and walked over to the till. There we were confronted with some sort of Management issue or lack of Manager apparently, she had disappeared leaving two teenagers running the place and instead of dealing with us we listened intently to the moaning staff. Disappointed with the visit , nit what we expect from a Beefeater.

The staff were very helpful. we had booked, the table was already prepared for our wheelchair, and they also offered assistance if we wanted to transfer to a chair, he restaurant, was busy but at no time were we rushed to order or complete our meal. James who was looking after us that evening was very good, nothing was too much to amen sure we enjoyed our meal.

Beware - £4.99 for just 2 (that's right only 2) king prawns. Was shocked when I asked for the extra king prawn with my salmon (which was actually very nice) and they arrived on the plate with only 2 prawns. £2.50 per prawn is really excessive. My friend had smothered chicken which appeared to have been microwaved and served with coleslaw that had little it no dressing. After complaining they did bring her some more coleslaw which did have dressing on. The edge of the chicken was dry and burnt. Will not be coming back.

Waited for ages to be seated on a quiet day. 2 members of staff walked past and completely ignored us..when we sat down table and chairs had not been wiped and was full of crumbs...not impressed

We had a meal at the Mill Lodge on 13th October 24. Whilst only having a main and drinks we found the food to be very good and tasty. Both food and drink arrived at a reasonable interval. The restaurant was not very busy but the staff worked hard to ensure that we were well attended. In particular we were impressed by Sasha who only started there 2 weeks prior to our visit. Her can do attitude and pleasant demeanor added to our dining experience.

We couldn't get a table at 7 pm, because we hadn't booked. The restaurant was not busy and didn't get busy. The beer was OK.

we regularly visit & last visited 24/09/24 with family and had a lovely time - everyone enjoyed their food & the service was brilliant, shoutout to sasha who was particularly great on her first shift - she smashed it :) you’ll see us again soon!

Mill Lodge is highly recommended for a good all you can eat breakfast. Enough variety to eat and drink. They have a nice buffet setting in which you can take as much as you want. Suitable for private individuals to eat out as well as for large groups of friends and family eat out. I had been here a couple of times but recently I discovered their services have dropped. The new pattern of booking a table for breakfast has to be looked into. If they need to do that then they need enough manpower to allocate seats to people rather than people standing for long on a queue waiting to get seats. I had to take a picture and video of this so the management wouldn't claim this doesn't happen.
