Mildreds Dalston in Hackney

Splendid meal here with plant focused menu. The food is marvellous. The service it really great as well. Mildred’s is one of the best restaurants around.

We've been eating in Mildred's for several years as it's in easy reach of most of us. Great vegan and gluten-free menu. VERY nice, polite, charming and helpful staff. Pleasant surroundings shaded by young trees and scaffolding - this will come down eventually!

Can’t get enough of Mildred’s. They have amazing food at all their locations. One of the best restaurants in the city!!!

The menu has been more or less the same for some time now and could do with a change, and there are far too many meat-substitute dishes, which are really not appealing to most ethical vegetarians who do not want to be reminded of dead animal body parts by eating imitation ones. I was also dismayed to realise that for some bizarre reason dogs are allowed in the restaurant. Our dinner was disturbed by a poorly-trained yappy dog and its inconsiderate owners. Sigh.

This is a spacious restaurant with uncluttered relaxing decor. My friend is coeliac, so absolutely no gluten. We ordered totally from the GF & dairy free menu so that we could share everything. Sev looked after us and the service was spot on. All the food was utterly delicious. How do they make creme brulee and also sticky toffee pudding without gluten & dairy, taste so good? Worth every penny. And inspite of their 'card only' policy, they let me pay with cash which was much appreciated as I had bank card problems. I will defiitely be back.

I've been to Mildred's in Camden and King's Cross, first time here. Quite empty but service and food was very good. Enjoyed my meal and the sticky toffee pud dessert was delicious. Located behind Dalston Junction Overground station.

Lovely vegan food with plenty of varied options to choose from. Lovely staff and drinks selection and somehow I've always managed to get a table. I've been a fair few times recently and I think their evening offering is much better than their breakfast, which feels like it's being outmatched by other vegan brekkies atm.

...unfortunately the menu has in my view taken a turn for the worse. As an ethical vegetarian I really don't appreciate replica bits of dead animals, but the menu is now becoming dominated by imitation chicken this and that, which really reduces the variety of the things that I would like to eat. So for the foreseeable future I guess I will have to find somewhere else in Dalston to eat when Ii am visiting the Arcola Theatre or Cafe Oto, until I see that the menu has gone through an overhaul. Still excellent friendly service though, and the food I did want to eat was good.

Wow!! I haven't been to Mildreds for ages and my only regret is that I didn't do this earlier. What a treat!!! I had a warm welcome as soon as I entered and the friendly bar staff allowed me to sit by the bar whilst I eyeballed all the new and exciting menu options. I decided to have a brunch plate with scrambled tofu (perfectly seasoned with chopped spring onions and peppers) grilled, mushroom, fried potatoes, gorgeous toated sourdough, vegan sausage and homemade beans. The presentation and flavours were soooo good and at a bargain £15 I couldn't be more pleased. If you haven't had a mildreds brunch you aren't being good to yourself 😊

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime and restaurant was fairly quiet. Its a lovely airy space with knowledgeable and friendly staff providing great service. The food is excellent, my mexican-style brunch was superb and the tiramasu dessert was genuinely out of this world. I'm not a vegan but I'm intended to return regulary for this level of cuisine.

This is probably my favourite branch of Mildreds as it's spacious and airy. The female staff member who served us was very friendly, the guy came across as a bit aloof but did say goodbye to us on leaving. We both had the vegan shrimp po'boy with fries. It was delicious. I enjoy how Mildreds keep changing their menu - it keeps things interesting though I miss the iced tea they had previously. We had a very enjoyable lunch.

Food was lovely! Absolutely love this restaurants selection of vegan food. Portion size was huge I couldn’t finish it all, so they gave it to me in a doggy bag to take home. Our waitress Lilly was fab and explained what was in the food and looked after us. She was very attentive. Delicious lychee cocktails, I would go there just for this!

I live nearby and used to really rate this place but clearly they've changed management/chefs/suppliers/recipes or a mixture. I have ordered the kiri hodi multiple times in the past as i used to thing it was delicious (and relatively healthy!) but today the quality and type of ingredients plus the flavour was clearly altered - and not in a good way. I won't be ordering again which is a shame.
