Had fish and a pattie yesterday wonderfully friendly staff will definitely go again

Terrible portion sizes smallest bags of chips I have ever been served, whole family complained Poor value . Nice staff though very pleasant

Just had fish and chips - awful. The fish was cooked while I waited, but I could,nt eat the batter. It was flat and soggy allover. The chips were dry and scrappy, not a decent chip in the bag. Won,t be going back there again.

It gets great reviews, however, it's not to my liking. I feel the food is overcooked, fish especially and the chips.

The stars I've given are for the pleasant staff,if it wasn't for them I would have rated no stars.I got sausage and chips,awful,the chips were all bits,maybes 2 decent chips among them and the sausage hardlys had any taste,will never go again.

First time eating here and unfortunately wouldn't return. Chips were cold and the fish was extremely chewwy and tasteless. Only good thing was the gravy which was tasty

Called in at 5.10pm ordered fish and chips, sausage and pineapple ring. Unfortunately the chips and sausage were very cold and dried up. Fish and pineapple were nice. Won't be going again and won't recommend

Just paid £18 for the worst food. Pineapple was burnt, rock solid and cold. Fish was tasteless and swimming in grease. First and last time I will ever get food from there. Disgusting and inedible.

Fish chips sausage curry All filled up beautiful food witty staff offered my jumbo sausage to a lady customer in Exchange for two small 😀 Yep they went there !!

Chips where nice but cold ,fish tasted nice but batter was extremely thick and all soggy under initial crispy outside wouldn’t go again

Fish was hot fresh and not Sat under the heat lamps . Chips were full of flavour well cooked and not full of oil . Sausages were also fresh straight fro. The fryer again not Sat under the heat lamps . 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

I live and work in London, visiting my parents who live in the area and found this place online. Friendly staff, great food, good value for money. Love how up north the portions are large as a matter of fact and the large portions are ginormous. I've ordered a regular and a large fish and chips.

Gone down hill this place not so good value anymore.

Usually enjoy fish and chips from Mike's, not today! Fish was not white and fleshy and the batter not up to scratch, overall very disappointing!! Should be perfect every time as this is now a rare and expensive treat.

staff are very rude, we asked for a fork before purchasing a battered mars bar and said no very rudely then served someone else and said ‘you can have a fork’ and laughed while looking at us, will not go again.

Lived in Newton Aycliffe almost 6 years now and these folk are great nice and friendly and the food is always top notch ! ❤️❤️

Visit regularly on a Friday night, the batter could be better sometimes a bit soggy. Pleasant staff.

Fish was absolutely spot on! The service could of been a touch better! A smile goes a long way! It was obvious I wasn't a local and was very much made to feel exactly that.

Best fish and chips in the area, only let down by the curry sauce.

Ask for beef curry chips and sausage,seen staff put in tray the chips and beef curry but not sausage so asked if the put sausage in they said no u didn't ask for sausage but I did. But 5 mins before they did my order someone came in and said they messed there order up think staff need to slow down do one order first before starting another as they messing orders up. Plus it wasn't every nice either iv had sausages before that have been rock solid. Thanks

Best fish shop in newtin aycliffe

Got sausage and chips and gravy tonight after not having them for a while and was disappointed. Sausage wasn't nice and was crispy but underneath rubbery texture and gave sausage to the dogs and chips were skinny and not very good. Disappointed all round.Wont be having them again for a while .

awfull bought chips and sausage last night the chips looked days old and the sausage was burned total waste of money even the dog would not eat them
