Extremely disappointed given the rave reviews of the past. I had the gyoza special and the pork and vegetable bao bun. Certainly there was nothing special about the gyoza, there's a fine line between silky and slimy and sadly, the latter won. The sauce was lovely so it really was more of a spicy flop. The bao was all bun and little in between, the whisper of filling was far too salty to eat and that remained uneaten. It was taken away by the server without comment. £14 for an icky taste in the mouth. I'll not be recommending nor returning.

After reading all the positive reviews here we decided to pay a visit. However our experience wasn’t nice at all. The order was taken at the table and then I was asked to walk round the front counter to pay my bill before eating? The service was slow and we had to ask twice to get cutlery. My partner’s dish came out when others were halfway through their meal. No one cared if we wanted something more or if we liked our food. The chicken in massaman curry and chowmein were both dry. The dumplings were rubbery and had a funny smell. The only dish we liked was the katsu curry which was a massive portion. We decided to take our leftover curry home and were charged 25p for the takeaway box? Honestly why would charge for that considering we spent over £100 at your restaurant. Very petty. We will not be returning unfortunately as we have had better meals at Wagamama.

We both had a noodle dish each & shared a pork & duck dish. Couldn’t finish it all & so left with doggy bags. Really nice food. Huge portions. Very friendly & helpful team. A great place for casual, good value dining.

Have sat in & had takeaway, both of which have been delicious. The staff are busy but helpful, the food's freshly cooked and very tasty. It's not meant for a fancy night out but it is the place to go if you want good food in a relaxed environment where you don't need to dress up. Oh, take tubs with you for any leftovers, they're happy for you to take it with you.

Fancied a late lunch and a mooch around their shop for noodles. There was a ‘special’ of Battered Tofu Bites with Garlic & Chilli Seasoning for £6.95. Delicious. Quite a large portion struggled. Also had some chicken & veg gyoza loved these. Had all with jasmine tea. Unfortunately service was dreadfully slow seemed to be lack of staff, & food arrived before drinks. But will visit again.

Family visiting so went here for late Saturday lunch. Seated quickly but waited 45’ to order drinks & food. Then took another 50’ to arrive. Worth the wait but geez service was terribly slow.

Hidden Gem! fab authentic food. very reasonable cost, all cooked fresh in front of you! friendly staff who all wear head sets ensuring the place runs very smoothly.!

Mii and U restaurant is a family favourite. We eat there regularly. I've just discovered their salads which are delicious. My husband likes the seafood laksa ramen. Being next door to the grocery shop is convenient. I buy all my sauces, vegetables and speciality fresh to cook food at this shop. Great service.

I’m a regular to here for lunch but tried at supper time & it was a very busy Saturday service. Wanted to try their Vietnamese chicken phó & wasn’t disappointed other than slow service & noisy atmosphere. Good fresh flavour plenty of lemongrass, red chilli & lime but not keen on Thai basil just personal taste. Lots of slippery noodles, chicken with flavoursome broth & crushed peanuts. With hot jasmine tea bill was £15.

I often shop in the supermarket next door but today we decided to try the restaurant as we’ve heard it’s good. We were not disappointed! The furnishings are basic and worn but the service is great, efficient and friendly and the place runs like a well oiled machine, coping with takeaway orders alongside a busy lunch time crowd. We had the veggie Katsu and veggie Chow Mein. Both huge and delicious. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

A year since our last Family Take Away for 7. The prices were much the same as a year ago. My Sister ordered & it was ready when she arrived to collect. Food & Quantity as good as before, with Prawn Crackers & Spring Rolls as starters for Mrs.B & Me, followed by Beef in Blackbean Sauce for Mrs.B & a Thai Red Chicken Curry for me, which was as hot as it should be, if not hotter, so beware!! Overall the whole family (7 off us) enjoyed their meal.

From ordering the food friendly service, to picking up the food, they take the time to make sure your order is correct and explain what everything is for and what goes with what. The food is really great, equally as good as any Thai food I had in Thailand. Cannot recommend enough, what a place, tons of flavour had the red Thai curry, with a side of chicken dumplings and a katsu curry. I will defo be back

This is a supermarket that over the years has opened up a place to eat. The food here is delicious and authentically Chinese.

This place is out of this world. It is my favourite spot although not everything about it is 100%. As with everything - the good makes you not see the negatives that much. The food is always the same - tasty and good size portions - which nowadays you see that many restaurants try to reduce the sizes or put the prices up. I love the idea that they give students or under 18s the ability to serve and work in a busy restaurant. My favourite food is laksa - the best in town which I must say I don't see on the Menu in other restaurants. The satay chicken bytes are amazing, sweet spicy chicken bytes are unique too. What I did not like was the new soup which is pricey and as mentioned in reviews before - too much noodles and less of other goodness. Please - can you invent something else? I also would like to see the comeback of ice cream in hot dough - Yin and Yang dessert - that was unique too!

Amazing food here every time, we've tried most things on the menu. Food is cooked to order, always arrives hot and the portion sizes are enough to satisfy even our teenage boys, they're very generous. If you haven't already been then you're missing out!

The eating area and kitchen have been extended and renovated to make it all a much nicer place to eat. There are also some new additions to the menu, we liked the new octopus starter.Nice to be able to see into the kitchen area and see that all the staff are wearing face masks, they are obviously following recommended guidelines with sanitiser and recording details of diners.The tables are all well spaced out and you feel very covid safe eating here.

Went, there, almost got scared away by the large menu (rarely a good sign), and the decor wasn't great either, but damn, was the food good.Glorious gyozas, delicious korean chicken, beautiful tempuras... This is asian food as I remember it from Japan streets. Unpretentious yet perfected, excellent and so varied.Portions were also super generous.Definitely a great experience.Only advice for the owners, do improve the look of the restaurant (some paintings on the bare wall, maybe better chairs etc.), make it a place where I'm not afraid to take my in-laws.

We have visited the Chinese supermarket on several occasions but never the cafe itself. Kicking ourselves for not visiting earlier!Don't let the basic cafe setting deceive you, the food we ate was top quality. Doesn’t look very welcoming from the outside but ventured in as the menu looked great. Ordered fish cakes with salad and beef with black beans followed by Ying and Yang. Absolutely delicious; huge salad with green mango, pickled ginger and Chinese cabbage beautifully fresh and flavoured with their secret mango/lime sauce with 2 huge salmon and potato fish cakes and generous portion of beef in the black bean sauce. Surprised for £6.95 per portion! Generous dessert 2 large balls of ice cream in a doughnut casing with lovely sauces. Value for money 12/10. Very friendly staff. Will definitely return.

We met up with friends for supper over the Christmas break.The decor is simple and you seat yourself.Our waitress was very friendly & extremely efficient as we changed around our orders from the menu a little and nothing was too much trouble.For starters our group ordered the Korrean bites some Calamari & Thai crackers.As all the food is freshley prepared it comes out at different times. This was not a problem to us as our intention was to take time over supper with friends.Everything was so fresh and flavoursome.For our mains there was a range from Ramen bowls to Singapore Noodles and curry. All were extremely fresh an looked amazing.I ordered the seabass with chilli sauce on the side and some stir fried veg. It was fabulous the seabass was in abundance as were the vegatables. Totally Delicious.

I have visited here a few times and it never disappoints. The calamari is so delicious and the batter is very light. Everything on the menu is tasty but the katsu and gyoza are very comforting and delicious. The service is good and the casual canteen setting is great for a meal before exploring the supermarket attached to it. They have adjusted their dishes for us previously to make them vegan and can not be more helpful. The price is also cheap with two eating with 2 mains and 3 sides for under thirty quid (including drinks as well). Would definitely recommend.

Despite it not being busy it took 45 minutes.The massaman curry sauce was very watery and the bbq ribs had hardly any meat and were just gristle and cartilage.The soup was completely gloupy. Won't be returning which is a shame as this place was one of my favourites for Chinese.food.

We used to come here often and it was fantastic but haven’t been in about a year. We were really disappointed with our visit today. Service was ridiculously slow even though we arrived at 1 and the place wasn’t busy. We ordered the calamari which was inedible. The prawn and vegetable tempura platter had 1 prawn in and was mainly one big lump of tangled up veg and batter. Everything came on badly chipped plates. Nobody came to clear our plates so didn’t even ask why we hadn’t eaten the calamari. In the end we got bored of waiting so just got up and paid the bill at the counter. In reality even though the food is cheap we probably won’t go back which is a shame as it always used to be so good.

We visited here as a family and ordered a number of items off the menu. I must say we enjoyed all that we ordered and were completely stuffed.It has a canteen feel to it, so if you don't mind sitting on foldable chairs for delicious food don't hesitate in visiting.

Over cooked and tough. 2 prawns in a seafood laksa but loads of awful tofu 4 small chunks of chicken in a chicken chow mein Prawn toasts like cardboard Calimari tough and stringy with soggy coating.

We visit for the supermarket and often stop into Mii & U before shopping for a lunchtime fix. The meals are very good value and portions are generous. The selection is large covering many classic asian meals. The yasai katsu curry and Thai green / red curries are personal favourites but never had a bad meal and tried many options. Only would avoid the tempura as it comes out as a mishmash of deep fried veg rather than individual pieces as is typical of Japanese food but still tastes good. Only downside is the walls could do with a clean and place needs a bit of TLC. Kitchen doesn't look that clean when you go to pay. Service is good and prompt. Meals arrive as soon as they are ready not necessarily at the same time as others on your table.

The food here is good, cheap and tasty but the service is the worst you will ever see. You wait forever for your order to be taken whilst you watch chaos ensue in the kitchen. The serving staff just seem to wander around aimlessly, whilst you desperately try to tell them you would like to order. You then wait for what seems an age for each dish to come out one at a time. In saying that the food is good and I do keep returning. However, they really need to sort out the serving staff and get ones that work and know what they are doing.

Food is good, staff are friendly when you eventually get served , but needs to provide a much better customer service. They are now charging 15p per container for takeaway containers when you eat at the café – not good !! Let’s hope the food portions remain generous

Popped out for lunch with friends. Needed somewhere close to home and not too expensive. This place has the feel of a canteen and was very busy. People eating in and collecting food to go.

Completely off the beaten track, and hidden away, this is a fantastic venue! Portions are generous, and cooked to perfection - I challenge anyone to say that dining-in doesn’t bring you a great and informal experience.

We love this place. It’s one of the best. Sadly earlier this month they decided to repay our loyalty with the worst starters we have ever eaten. The prawn toast was clearly re-fried and burnt. A real let down. I really hope it’s a one off.

Never order a take away from this place, order placed today at 7:50 and it’s not 9:10 and I am still to receive my order after being told it would be 30 minutes!!

Known about this place for years. Just tried it today and it lives up to to it reputation. Had the most amazing Massaman chicken curry. Will be going back.

I wrote 18 months ago about a very bad experience whereby my wife's food did not arrive before I finished mine. We decided then to never go back. But we did. Yesterday. We thought we'd give it a go - after 18 months, maybe they got their act together? Oh no. If anything the service is worse. The good news is my wife's order arrived but the duck was burnt. My order didn't arrive but they tried to fob me off with it in a take away dish. Told them to forget it. Save yourself a lot of grief and give this place a miss. There are others in town and also plenty of Turkish, which provide better food, better service, better prices and much better surroundings.

I’ve eaten here quite a few times and the food has always been pretty good. Today was truly awful. We ordered a few mains and a few side orders. None of our food came out together, they just brought over a plate at a time after asking them about three times where it was! The food was terribly presented and tasted really bad. We barely touched our food. It was salty, lukewarm, bland and watery. I won’t be eating here again. It’s such a shame as I used to enjoy it. Has it been taken over? I don’t see why it’s gone to downhill. Really disappointing that the meal cost over £40 and I had to eat when I came home!!

Mii and U is consistently good. The problem is unless you know about this place you're unlikely to find it as it's tucked away in the corner of the Central Supermarket in Bradwell Abbey.

Ordered a lot of dishes, big and small, but was disappointed for them to all arrive at different times, 5 minutes inbetween each, from dimsum first, then a bowl of rice, then calamari, then deep fried vegetables, then a soup, to a tiny bowl of pickles last. Bit ridiculous. Food was alright though (wasn't wowed) and not as expensive as normal chinese takeaways. Left feeling extremely stuffed!

Visited this restaurant today and enjoyed my meal. I went with family and we shared starters and though all were nice the satay chicken was particularly good. We then had our own main course and they were good too except my husband thought the beef in the beef and black bean was tough but the sauce was beautiful.

If i reviewed this place couple of years ago it would be 5 star. But now the food has gone down. Second time in a row food was below average. They had an a diffrent chef before clearly food was better. No authentic flavour. Everything is averagd to below standard. Sorry but you ate becoming a victim of your own success.

On arrival people may be put off by the low rent and frankly shabby look, but get past that and this is a great place to eat. Food is superb and prices very reasonable. The chicken laksa ramen is my favourite, the katsu curry is another favourite. A much better restaurant than an awful lot of upscale and seemingly nicer places.
