Miele Delicatessen in Rotherham

I live in Rotherham but it was my first visit. Loved the experience. Staff are very welcoming. The food, drinks and products are so good. I will definately go again.

My wife and I had become creatures of habit with our lunches at Miele but on this visit they did not have our usual Smoked Ham for sandwiches. That meant a change in one case to the ordinary Italian Ham and in the other to Italian Pork - accompanied by Montagnolo cheese and Dolcellate Cheese. If anything, my wife preferred her new Pork version - so again we had a very enjoyable lunch - washed down with glasses of red wine. It's just a pity that we are rarely in Rotherham nowadays.

As no longer work in in Rotherham and also having moved out of the borough, trips into the Town Centre are rare events. It was therefore good that the opportunity arose to visit this old favourite. We stuck to the usual lunch model - of smoked ham on either ciabatta or brown bloomer (with touch of sun-blushed tomato) - plus montagnolo blue cheese. As usual - wonderful and we were able to wash down with red wine. Bliss!

Fantastic deli, friendly and knowledgeable owners and staff with a wonderful array of delicious produce form coffee to wine and cold meats to ice cream and everything in-between. The sandwiches are amazing and the team will happily recommend combinations if you're dazzled by the variety of options. And you need to try the Italian desserts, they're amazing! Rotherham is lucky to have such a business in it's town centre, highly recommend you pop in and sample their wares.

popped in to have a quick lunch. I ordered a Decaff Latte and a ciabbata with ham. I was not disappointed, the coffee was excellent mellow not strong. My sandwich was served with crisp and a few leaves with a balsamic dressing. The Ciabatta was so fresh and soft and it was full of very tasty ham. I was so impressed a fantastic place in Rotherham well worth a visit. Its good to support local business and my word we need somewhere decent in Rotherham to eat and drink. The staff were very helpful kind and curteous. It's a gem of a place indeed.

Had a meeting in Rotherham with someone who had never been before and had no plans for lunch. Took them to Miele - where I stuck with my usual ham & cheese sandwich (plus garnish). My visitor also went with the ciabatta base and ham but a different (milder) cheese and was mightily impressed. Can't ask for more than that!

Rude and made to feel unwelcome. Will find somewhere I am welcome I'm sure there are better cafe with better staff in Rotherham (Even McDonalds staff probably have better customer service)

I don’t normally leave reviews for sandwich type shops, but called in here today and the staff were excellent and the food was superb. I had a spicy salami and blue cheese sandwich on ciabatta and my wife had Brie with mushrooms on seeded bread. They were plentiful with content, soft fresh bread and tasty as I’ve eaten. Staff were excellent and we even bought some of there vinaigrette to take home. Gorgeous. Recommended.

The Italian cafe and deli is a real gem and contrasts markedly with the other greasy spoons in Rotherham. The service, food quality and ambiance would not be out of place in Harrogate, York or Leeds. One of best coffees I’ve had in ages. The food being eaten by others looked brilliant. The two owners were chatty and offered excellent service

Popped in for a coffee with my husband and kids (age 11&9) as we had been visiting family in Rotherham. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and lovely latte, cappuccino and hot chocolate! Very reasonable prices and the deli looked amazing too. We would definitely go back next time we are in Rotherham.

My wife and I used to live in Rotherham 40 years ago. It was a lovely thriving town, busy and full of life with a wide variety of shops. Last weekend we visited the town centre, it’s an absolute dump with a lot of shops closed down and those that remain very unappealing. One notable exception was the Miele. An excellent little cafe on High Street. Great food, friendly staff and somewhere that needs to flourish in the desert that is now Rotherham town centre. Great sandwiches and coffee at very reasonable prices.

A frequent visitor to Miele, excellent food, excellent hosts, nothing else to say other than be back again this week!

My second visit here for coffee and cannoli. Bought.some provisions too. Shop needs a layout rethink though as negotiating customers to view sale produce is a little awkward. Shelving needs moving....or tables.

Having arrived in Rotherham for a lunchtime appointment at the Halifax I was struggling to find anywhere to eat. Rotherham really seemed very run down and the few people I saw were a little off putting. Thankfully I found Miele as I wandered around the Minster area. Brilliant sandwich and bought some Cannoli to take home. If I find myself in Rotherham again would definately eat here.

Popped in for a cup of tea whilst waiting for my son and had the most gorgeous lunch! The staff are so friendly and helpful, the food was fresh, great choices and tasted sooo good. You can buy lots of really different foods in the deli as well as fresh produce. Just what we need in Rotherham and it’s been here 5 years and I never knew but I will be back!

Rotherham Town Centre has its issues but an oasis there is Miele. It has a great stock of delicatessen items but also has many regulars for its coffees and its excellent sandwich or platter lunches.There is no formal menu for the sandwiches - first you choose your type of bread and then select the fillings from the wide selection on offer on the day. I normally go for ham and cheese but varying the types of each and have never been disappointed (including on my latest visit).The sandwich (plus red wine) makes for a pleasant visit to town.

Visited on Friday lunchtime after an appointment..planned on lunch and coffee but only had a coffee and nearly didnt have that due to how rude the lady who served me was. I only asked if they served food which she abrubtly and sarcasticly said yes!! I asked what they had as couldnt see any menu’s or anything on the wall, and told they had what was in the fridge. Everything I asked she was just down right rude. In the end I just said forget it I will just have a coffee.I dont think Ive ever been served in a bar/restaurant/shop by anyone so rude!! The older guy who brought my coffee out was lovely in fact I paid him for my drink do I didnt have to face her again.I will never ever return here, shame as the coffee was ok.

The menu compensates for being limited in scope by shear quality. The anti pasti for two is excellent with a choice of breads and all contents. Try with a glass of wine (preferably red!). Sandwiches are made to order with a choice of three contents including meat, cheese and vegetables. Select you own bread.The coffee is the best in the area as it should be with one of the owners Italian roots.

We have had the sharing platter on several occasions and also food to take home and everything has been excellent. The food is beautiful, the service is spot on and the deli has a true authentic feel to it. You can sample food if it is something you haven't tried before and aren't sure and the owners and staff can't do enough to help you!!!

The sharing anti pasta dish is excellent both in content and value. Try a glass of wine with it (175 ml). Best coffee in Rotherham. Miele is a gem, an oasis, in among a lot of run down retail property. It is worth the trip into the town centre alone!

I have visited this lovely place on rotherhams high street many times and just when you think it can't get any better it does. The food here is excellent the coffee is too and very reasonably priced. Service by the lovely owners and staff is first class and very warm . The place is so good you would think your are in an Italian dele and a million miles from Rotherham. I do and will continue to recomend this lovely lovely place to everyone I meet.

Popped in for a drink and snack. Friendly staff and an array of Italian foods on sale to take home. Cosy and even an Italian elderly gent shopping there.

The Miele Continental Italian Bistro is unfortunately located on what is now an semi "derelict" High Street in Rotherham, many years ago this was bustling town and the High Street was a real hub area, now its been run down but still has just a coup[le of interesting coffee shops, a couple of retailers as well as the Miele itself.

I love this place and regularly meet with friends here that drive over from Sheffield just to eat an ‘Al’s special and enjoy a great coffee. Andy and Franca are an amazing couple and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. A friendly, authentic and relaxed deli that’s well worth the visit!

When timings permit, this is our 'go to' place for a light lunch in Rotherham - as it is always excellent. Ham & cheese sandwich (with salad garnish) our usual choice, plus wine or coffee sounds basic but if we wish, we can ring the changes with the types of bread and the hams and cheeses - always getting something tasty and of course there are several other 'savoury' options plus the cakes\confectionery.

This place is a constant stop when in Rotherham. Having tried all the other coffee shops at some point, Miele is the only place I would return to, their coffee is streets ahead of the competition for anyone that knows their beans.

The staff were excellent lovely and friendly the smells were amazing We would come back again Maybe fetch other family members too

This Delicatessen is fantastic. I highly recommend that people pay a visit. They have an excellent choice of cheeses, meats and other Italian delicacies. The staff are very attentive and offer advice if a new recipe is being tried. They have an excellent range of foods and beverages for lunch, etc.

Thank God for this place breaking the stranglehold of charity shops and fast food joints in Rotherham. It's hard to believe such a basic sandwich can be so tasty but it's testament to the vast selection of fresh ingredients including antipasti and quality cheeses you get to choose from. Miele is a deli/ café type set up so you can also buy a range of products not often seen outside of Italy.

We always like to pop in for a nice sandwich to take away.

We went to Rotherham for the first time, on the very first public tram-train to run there from Sheffield.

Typically my wife and I only have ham & cheese sandwiches (with wine) as a light lunch when we go into Rotherham and that was the choice today. That might sound very basic but in fact there is a choice of breads (all good) and a choice of both ham and cheese - so we can ring the changes. There is not a posted menu for the sandwiches or the platters - as Andrew & Franca supply what are the best ingredients available on the day and advise on choices. Much better than having a fixed menu where ingredients may not be available or not at their best.

Andrew and Franca are the perfect hosts at this little gem in a most unexpected place. A little bit of Italy in South Yorkshire with so many delights to choose from. You certainly won’t be disappointed

Always call in here for a coffee when I’m in town, it’s without doubt the best. Love the authentic Italian Cannoli too.

I have been to this Italian Cafè a few times and I can honestly say that it is a wondrous feast for all of the senses. It smells absolutely delightful the Staff go above and beyond anything I have ever experienced anywhere for service, and the toasted Panatonne is to coin a phrase " to die for" I love to go there by myself and just have some me time but I feel amongst friends. If you have a breakfast brunch or lunch planned you should make Mielle Rotherham your first stop. You are doing a brilliant job, thank you.

I've had coffee at all the independent places in Rotherham and Miele is head and shoulders above.

We had an impromptu visit to Rotherham today and called into Miele Deli for a coffee and a sandwich. The coffee is without doubt one of the nicest coffees ever tasted and the sandwich was superb. We asked for ham and cheese and then had to select from the various ham and cheeses available, of which there were many. We settled on a roast ham and soft blue cheese on brown bloomer bread. It was absolutely delicious, it arrived with a green leafed side salad, balsamic vinegar and crisps. The sandwich was huge, big enough to share or for one to be indulgent ...as we both were . The service is first class, nothing is too much trouble, and the range of produce for sale inside the store makes for an interesting perusal once you have eaten. This is definitely a must to visit! Service, Food and Value are all Excellent.

As it was school holidays, my wife and I had grand-daughter in tow this time. We all had variations of a ham & cheese sandwich (the differences being in the cheeses and granddaughter opting out of the salad garnish but loving the crisps and pronouncing the ham the best ever), That meant we all really enjoyed our choices - hardly unexpected, as it is one of my favourite local places for a sandwich with a glass of wine.

Went the first time today after it was heavily recommended and understood the reason for it . Service is impeccable , sandwiches made the way you want ....what more do you need? Perfect for a light yet filling meal.

The best coffee in Rotherham. The food is absolutely delicious and a must when visiting here. The quality and variety of the cheese and meats never disappoints. Not to mention the variety of other foods available. A proper authentic quality Italian deli.

The best place in Rotherham for Great food and drinks ... I visit at least once a week and would recommend it to anyone... the sandwiches are excellent with a great choice of meats and cheeses with a great choice of breads ..the deli is also licensed so a nice cold Peroni could wash your lunch down! Staff are friendly and are very knowledgeable in the food they are serving.

Have been going here on and off since moving to rotherham a couple of years ago and we still receive the same great service and produce as our first visit. The (assumed) owner is so lovely and helpful and knows her stuff! I always get the platter and it's more than enough for one person and can never fault the selection they provide! Really hope this place continues to do well, it does rotherham a great service!

I have to say that the Miele deli is my family and friends go to place to eat and relax. The service is wonderful with a wide range of food from platters, sandwiches and pastries to a coffees, teas, wine and juices. The atmosphere is always very relaxed and welcoming. The staff have always gone out of their way to help. I would highly recommend it to anyone!!!!!

I have had the lunch platter from the deli a few times. There is a great selection of preserved vegetables as well as rich cheeses and cured meats. I have been able to have a customised vegetarian and vegan panini and lunch platter on request - even without the cheese and cured meats (which my other half says are wonderful!) there is a great range of pickles, olives, sundried tomatoes, preserved mushrooms and more to enjoy on a platter with fresh Italian bread. The coffee is top-notch and the small grocery store included in the shop has excellent ingredients on sale.

OK - this is a delicatessen with a café area (rather than a restaurant) but definitely worth a visit if you want a light lunch.

After having raved about this place. Last few times it has been lacking. They were getting deliveries and man who worked there was chatting with delivery man, it was freezing. I asked him to shut door and he was like, "we are just getting deliveries", NO they were chatting with door open and inside was cold to start of with. Friendliness of staff seems to have gone down. My advice, keep repeat customers happy, don't treat them as if they will come back regardless, because they won't.

Working in the Town Centre meant that a light lunch was needed. Previous excellent experience meant that it was a case of head for Miele.

We came to this deli because we were going to an intel Ian inspired evening at our friends house and we were tasked with the anti-pasti. We were provided with everything we needed and more. I have to say the selection of cheese and meats were amazing. And we got to taste everything before we purchased it. I can say we will be purchasing from here again but can only recommend you all to give this place as visit and sort out your Saturday night cheese board and meats. Give them a call in advance and tell them you’d like a platter and how much you want to spend. Obviously the best place to get your Italian produce from. Especially when we have been let down by another d lit near the stag twice before by closing over an hour early twice and they ignored the door even though they were inside. A great place with great produce and a fantastic personal service.

Having visited here many times and not once had a bad visit I always recommend Miele to friends and family is passing through the town.

Although the deli is nice and the place is bringing business into the town centre, the choice is very limited. Food wise, they only really do sandwiches with meat and cheese. I thought an Italian deli would do pastas and fresh salads to eat there and then. The salad they provide is only lettuce and balsamic. The deli does have a nice selection of packet pasta and sauces. Not a bad experience but disappointed in the choice and the staff.

Great little deli selling all things Italian. Fantastic coffee which is by far the best I've tasted anywhere in a long time. Super friendly service. If you're in Rotherham, go here.

First time visiting here, meeting a friend for coffee and time to chat. Upon entering you a welcomed with a real feast for the eyes from Italian ice creams, and a huge array of cheese and meats, not to mention options for breads and pasta. The latte was piping hot and strong.Made a great long drink while having a good old natter. Left after purchasing a great selection of cheese to enjoy at home, along with making a promise to myself to visit again.Tucked in the middle of a dying town centre, I wish you very well for passing trade. You've brought a little bit of something special to the High Street.See you again soon!

I have been going to this restaurant for some time sitting outside whilst I had a cafe con leche and watching the good people of Rotherham go by......I thought it was about time I tried the food as it always looks delicious and is always freshly prepared by the accommodating staff that I have met on my many visits.I had a platter for one which consisted of meat,cheese olives and bread covered in different oils and can say the presentation taste and variety was exceptional.When i am in Spain I struggle to eat olives as sometimes they can be very bitter but I ate every olive on my plate from Miele.Delicious....!!!!My only complaint was that it would have been nice to have had a glass or two of prosecco or wine....... but you can't have everything.....!!!Well done Miele a wonderful eating experience 10/10

I moved away from Rotherham six years ago and was back today with a friend. What a fab cafe. Beautiful food, great service. Well impressed!!!

Great food, nice atmosphere, good prices. I wouldn't consider lunch anywhere else when in Rotherham. A pity it's a bit small which means that sometimes you just can't get in.

This is my favourite meeting place in Rotherham ... I enjoy business coffee and also Saturday lunch with my partner! Authentic Italian food and produce and the staff are so attentive and friendly . Beautiful little gem xx

A lovely little find in the centre of town on High Street. Lovely lovely coffee, far tastier than any chain can offer and quite frankly the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted. The food was delicious and the staff were knowledgeable of their wares. The music put me straight back into the back streets of my beloved Florence. Great selection and authentic Italian produce! love it!!

This small deli in the centre of Rotherham offers an authentic experience in Italian ingredients. The décor inside is truly Italian and even the background music offers a special ambience. The sandwiches and the platters are a delight and the owners and staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable regarding all of their Italian meats and cheeses. A truly wonderful lunchtime experience. Very relaxing, enjoyable and extremely tasty! Very good for a take out supper platter supper as well. Keep up the good work guys.....it is a flavour sensation.

Popped in for a quick sandwich and coffee for lunch. We were greeted with a friendly smile and it was nice to see such a selection of meats, cheeses, etc on display to choose from. Our sandwiches were lovely - top quality meat and cheese and a lovely dressing on the side salad - we ended up buying a bottle to bring home! There was only a short delay waiting for them to be made up from scratch and they were delicious and well worth waiting for.Only downside is there are only a few tables and not a huge amount of room but don't let that put you off!

First time I've been in and the cafe was most delightful and stylish inside, staff so friendly and helpful. I ordered a platter to take away with a selection of meats, cheeses and bread and was not disappointed. Delicious range with pickles, sun dried tomatoes to die for. Definitely going back for another platter, highly recommend quality food.

My wife and I walked past at lunchtime and decided to call in for a coffee. We were both amazed by the place, great atmosphere, helpful staff and the food looked amazing, so we decided to have a sandwich and we were not disappointed. The selection is second to none. We will definitely call in again.

Popped in for lunch with my husband and weren't disappointed - lovely little place, top quality, really nice fresh food and at a reasonable price - it was the nicest sandwich I've had in ages. Only minor downsides were the limited space available and I'd have preferred to browse through a menu rather than choose at the counter but would definitely return next time we are in Rotherham, really enjoyed it.

Out with my young daughter on a winter's day we found ourselves in town wanting somewhere to eat. To be fair there's lots of places in Rotherham but I find an over abundance of greasy spoons which make a nescafe with milk and call it a latte-really! I liked the look of this place pm decided to give it a try. We were a little overwhelmed with choice for sandwich fillings (you can choose anything from the deli counter which is fit to bursting with all kinds of European meats and cheeses) when the very helpful waitress suggested trying a platter. What a choice, it was like being on holiday. Olives, sundried tomatoes, meats, gorgeous breads and meats. A feast for the eyes and the tummy which I and my 3 year old loved. The coffee is divine.My only complaint so to speak is that it needs expanding!! Can't always get a table but hey if it's good enough you'll wait!

Always call in for a wonderful coffee and pastry whenever we walk down to Rotherham we sit outside with our dog, best place in the area.

Popped in for a quick coffee and sandwich. The coffee was great and had a lovely cheese and meat sandwich on rye bread. It was extremely tasty and very filling. If I had one complaint, it was that there was no menu on the tables. Although the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining what was what. We will be going back again soon. Nice to see an independent shop doing great food.

Having called into this little deli weekly since it opened, I've got to know its owners Andy & Franca. Simply put, it serves the best original deli food in the area and the staff are super-friendly. There's a really relaxed atmosphere where you can take time out from the office in the middle of the day.

I have been to the Delicatessen twice now and had coffee outside to watch the people of Rotherham go by.....I had heard about the independent High Street shops and wanted to see if was true what people were saying.....I was welcomed on both my visits to the place and service was very good .When I had my latte there was a nice biscuit brought out with it...I have had coffee in much larger establishments and not had anything brought out with my coffee...I think it is a nice touch and it just goes that extra mile with me.....The place seemed very busy and when i went to pay for my coffee i could see why....There was a lady making up a fresh plate of meats,cheese, bread, olives and using oils to complement the serving...It looked delicious..!! She keep apologising to me for not being able to serve me but this is what people come inside for freshly made meals.....You have to wait for excellence....Well done.... on my next visit i am going to indulge in one of your meals...I don't know if you have a drinks licence..but a glass of presecco would have been the icing on the cake......Good Stuff..... !!!!

Rotherham High Street needs all the help it can get and this deli cum cafe is magic. The welcome is lovely, the atmosphere is warm and the coffee is pure Italian delight. It is very hard not to have a warm chocolate pastry with your capuchino and to take home some taleggio for later. The charges are almost Italian also - no Costa fortune hereGo and try!

Their hot chocolate is a must, their espresso neat but is their delicatessen side that I see bringing more people in. I always go there to unwind after the week is over. I love sitting there, chatting with the couple that owns the place, listen to Italian music, buy a speciality olive oil or balsamic Vinagre or anything else on display. A must in Rotherham.

The coffee is excellent, strong and fresh plus the chocolate coffee bean is a favourite treat of mine. Staff all friendly and helpful. We had a sandwich and what flavour. You are offered a choice from the delicatessen counter and generally we leave that to the staff. This week we had a delicate cheese and Italian ham in super Ciabatta served with sundried tomatoes. Delicious. The sun was shining and we sat outside and it was a real pleasure to see how the High Street has finally come to life. Well done to everyone concerned. My friends are taking some persuading to visit Rotherham but it really is getting better. To walk from All Saints Square anticlockwise uphill to Hambys Clock Corner then down high street and up to Clifton Park is a pleasure. I hope Rotherham can continue to make progress and join up all the good bits and call here for a treat.

Fantastic cafe in the heart of Rotherham. Its very reasonably priced and is exactly the kind of thing Rotherham needs. Absolutely superb.

Oh, how we were treated to an absolutely incredible lunch. It is quite clearly evident that this delicatessen takes it's business very seriously - from quality ingredients to the warm and friendly atmosphere the establishment brings; and not forgetting the very reasonable prices for the pleasure.I tip my cap to all the staff of Miele Delicatessen for providing superior food and drink, a lovely atmosphere, all whilst wearing a smile.I most certainly will be visiting again.

Lovely fresh and high quality food, great for a spot of lunch, the coffee and hot chocolate are good too....its just a great little place! Glad Rotherham town centre finally has a place like this, a great reason to go into town, which has been lacking for some time. I've been here loads of times and it's always top notch.

Being new living in Rotherham found this place just by walking around. Amazing sandwiches, friendly staff great atmosphere. Love it, I have become a regular.

Have been here several times, wonderful food, good range of deli stuff along with a warm friendly staff. Well worth a visit for a coffee, light meal then browsing the deli
