Nonnas in Rotherham

Fabulous food, outstanding service! All the food was beautifully presented, tasty and with good variety. Small venue, but charming and with a fantastic front of house…….she knows how to look after you and we wanted for nothing. All in great!

Me and my wife second Time here and it's our favourite by far we have been to many restaurants and we love this place the service is second to none. And the food is top draw. The couple that run the restaurant need praise, the welcoming to service the food and the atmosphere is the best you could wish for. Bring on the wedding!!!

What a find this restaurant…fantastic food fantastic service… nothing is to much… I can recommend the garlic mushrooms… and the mussels ( I kept pinching my husbands they were that good)

We recently booked out the whole restaurant for my husband's 40th Birthday - what can I say?! From booking to the night itself, nothing was too much trouble for Ashleigh. We had a beautiful night shared with our family and friends over amazing food. To say there were 18 people, all the food came out at the same time, piping hot, beautifully presented. Everyone commented how they had not had steak this good in a long time and the intimate style venue was beautiful. We will be back as a couple and for other family events. If you are thinking of booking, you will not regret it!

We visited Nonnas for Steak night, after our Italian family friends recommended it. The place is small but perfectly formed, a cosy little restaurant that punches far above it's weight, from the romantic surroundings to the very friendly staff. Most importantly the food was perfect, the Chateau Briand cooked to perfection, the red wine jus and peppercorn sauce... Devine. The buttered carrots and Italian roast potatoes... Amazing. I'm skipping ahead of myself, the bruscetta was fantastic, as was the perfectly matched bottle of Red that came with the meal. Will we be going back, you bet!

The food and service are exceptional here! Best steaks around cooked to perfection..made several visits and each time the food has been to die for ! ..can’t wait to go back ..just perfect

Fantastisk mat på en utrolig koselig restaurant. Vi hadde både stekt sopp og kjøttboller til forrett. Helt nydelig sammen med hvitløksbrød. Biff med peppersaus til middag - tror aldri jeg har smakt bedre. Bare smeltet i munnen. Skal absolutt tilbake igjen her. Og betjeningen var også veldig flinke

My drive into Barnsley town center is about 15 minutes. My drive to Nannas is about 20 mins. Let me tell you!! The extra 5 minutes is well worth the drive to a world of real Italiana... owned by a real Italian. With real fantastico Italiana Chefs. the most welcoming Italian Staff. none of the aforementioned are "want to be Italians" as in town. All of this made to a wonderful Italian night. Excellent Italian meal excellent ambiance soft romantic real Italian back ground music. The cost was at town center prices if not less!! So, I say, "stay out of town and the want to be Italian restraunts. Go to the real thing go to Nonnas eccellente

Nonnas is not a huge restaurant it's simular to eating in someone's home , the evening we went we filled the place there were 18 of us for a birthday party. We pre chose the food we were all having this made it easy on the kitchen staff and knowing what to buy in. The tables aren't in a bench configuration this would not be practical ,we were offered drinks from the lone waitress ,she took the order and delivered the drinks with no fuss. The choice of drinks is extensive considering the size of the place. including cocktails not overpriced and ample. The food all three courses was served hot by a really hard working waitress, who never looked flustered. You may think that extra serving staff are required but the place is small and two would be bumping in to each other . The food was fresh ,hot and very tasty,unfortunately we had chosen a variety of foods but all were served with a smile. The pasta was home made as you'd expect the cheese sauces were smooth and tasty,a few people had vegetarian options all saying they were as good as any they'd had. The restaurant got nice and warm when the pizza oven was fired up,a traditional oven the pizzas looked fantastic one person on our table struggled to beat it all,another having the salmon pasta asked for a doggie bag there dish was huge. I had spaghetti carbonara and as much as I tried had to leave some of it. It was beautiful the quality was evident in the taste. All in all the night was a really good experience finished off by a birthday cake presented by the poor waitress still with a smile on her face. The restaurant was very clean all the staff all friendly don't know about the total cost but mine was less than £25 but we did pay for our own drinks two bottles of white £38 . If you want a good taste of Italy try it.

This place is tucked away in Rotherham and I had never been before but heard great things. We’d been given a voucher as a wedding gift and got booking. You have to book in advance if you want a weekend slot. The place looks great from the outside and would be great in those warm summer evenings. Car parking is limited but we still managed it. The customer service was brilliant and it was evident that it was full of repeat customers. Although only small, I didn’t fill uncomfortable. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was great. The portion sizes were big and we left feeling very full. We weren’t rushed at all. I enjoyed a couple of cocktails but they are quite pricey which added to the cost of our overall bill. We’d definitely like to return in the future. We had a great night!

A good friend recommended Nonna’s so we gave it a try and our visit was perfect. Lovely service, delicious food, good portions. Highly recommended. System wouldn’t let me leave 5 stars for some reason.

I don’t generally write reviews but honestly just wonderful food! No fuss great wine! Loved it. We went at 3 - we were told they are really busy at night but get booked if you can! Ladies- wonderful alternative afternoon to Wickersley xx

Fabulous meal with the family, Cosy atmosphere and brilliant staff. Welcomed and seated promptly on arrival, drinks served quickly. Very large portions so good value for money, excellent antipasto sharing board two of us also had the monk fish special which was fabulous. Very tasty! Hubby had calzone which he has at every Italian we go to but said it was exceedingly the best he had ever had and huge! We will be returning.

When I say book before you turn up, I absolutely mean it. This is a single unit at the Stag roundabout, holding 15 covers - and that includes the added on decked area at the front. Thats it though, the rest is amazing. What being...

We have visited a couple of times now for takeout and the food and service has been fantastic. The pizzas are the best in the area and use authentic ingredients. Recommend the Arancini and tiramisu. Definitely recommend.

I love this place, I try and visit every week. The food is fabulous. They have the best vegetarian breakfast I've had. The staff are particularly friendly and very welcoming. It's even dog friendly. What more can you ask for.

Myself and 3 friends had dinner at Nonna's last night. Have to say the food and service was excellent. The waitress could not do enough for us. The owner/head chef cooked us a fantastic meal and was so friendly. Will definitely be going here again and again.

We booked a table here for 2nd February. My friends and I were really looking forward to it and had booked well in advance, asking for the latest sitting. When we arrived they were mopping the floors and claimed my sister had been in and cancelled which was odd as I don't have a sister! When I challenged this they said 'a woman in a uniform' had cancelled it. They didn't even offer anything such as book again and we'll give a complementary drink and weren't even that apologetic. Won't go back. Luckily the restaurant around the corner was able to accommodate us.

Our second evening visit to this small Italian bistro and it was just as lovely as the first. The best items without doubt are the authentic pasta and Italian dishes, we have eaten parmigiana, gnocchi and a couple of pasta dishes, all simple but very tasty and very reminiscent of food in Italy. Unfortunately I didn’t take pics of the mains as we were just so excited when they arrived, we tucked straight in.Food is reasonably priced, wine will add quite a bit more to the bill but no more than any other place.Wonderful food and great service.

Below someone has stated the sandwich was the worst he had. Well Both me and my aunt had a chicken sandwich. it was made of fresh bread and the chicken was excellent. Having worked in catering i cannot understand why people say food is crap on here. if it was that crap tell the restaurant straight away and they change it.this restruant is excellent little place

The worst sandwich I’ve ever had, nothing Italian about it all, very expensive at £7.45, I’ve had better out of a packet at Greggs. Left most of it as it was swimming in mayo. The wife had pizza which again looked nothing like a pizza, more like soggy cheese on toast, again she left most of it! Very disappointing!! Won’t be returning.

Visited with some girlfriends for lunch. Booked a table beforehand which was a good job as for a Tuesday lunch in was moderately busy. Excellent Service, food is freshly cooked and very tasty if a little pricey. £10 for tuna salad which was tinned tuna not fresh, £8 for calamari starter which was lovely chunks of calamari not rings. Would definately visit again.

Excellent quality food but a little expensive (£7.99 for 3 tempura prawns; £8.95 a slice of quiche and salad). Drinks very expensive. However, the food was lovely, the staff are very obliging and helpful. We had a sharing platter for 4 and then ordered 3 mains and 2 side dishes to share between us. One had a desert and 2 had liquor coffees. Ample food for the 4 of us.

Me & my hubby came for the first time last Saturday & wow. From the food to the service everything was perfect. Thank you for a lovely evening. We will definitely be back.

We had a superb afternoon myself and 4 friends here. Dino and his son did everything they could to make it special. The food and drinks were all fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. We were lucky that the weather was nice and we sat outside which was really pleasant. Everything was reasonable priced. You can even park easily outside. I would definitely recommend this place and I am going to take my husband on sunday to try breakfast. Thank you Dino and Co.

This place is lovely we called in one Saturday after a walk and I had eggs Benedict and my husband had scrambled eggs on toast with salmon. Food was lovely fresh and hot and also the owner was lovely and place spotlessly clean. We also visited over the bank holiday for the wood fired pizzas which were lovely along with some refreshing sangria in the sunshine. Nice to have a lovely place like this on our doorstep

We recently visited Nonnas for an evening meal/snack as they have the open air pizza oven on and it sounded fabulous so we decided to pay it a visit as we live nearby. The drinks were very expensive and overpriced and the food was also slightly disappointing. We spent a lot of money but all left very hungry and very disappointed and feeling like we had made a poor choice of venue.

Wow ..... one of the best Italian lunch’s I have had.

As always, the food is top class. Food is served in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere.

Service was very good from start to finish. The food, a mixed antipasto and a selection of breads, was presented really well and tasted delicious. Decent value too at just over £30 for two. Will definitely be going again. The only slight criticism would be that the lighting is a little bit harsh and could feel warmer. Overall worth 5 stars.

Made very welcome by staff on a cold snowy morning. Breakfast was tasty and filling. Not the cheapest I have ever had but after all quality counts
