Quaint spot. Nice place to go for a Sunday morning coffee or brunch. Prices are reasonable and the food is tasty. Coffee is self-service at the reception area

this is what a daytime pub should be. runs as a cafe cum pub, busy with young families and people enjoying the breakfasts. was tempted to stay longer and will visit again.

We stayed at this hotel for a night and overall had a mixed experience. The rooms are on the smaller side, but they’re cute and nicely presented. Everything was clean and well-maintained, including the shower, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were absolutely lovely—really friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and I woke up with back pains, which put a bit of a damper on things. Breakfast was fine, though nothing to rave about—honestly, not much better than what you’d get at a Wetherspoons. It did the job though. One thing to note: we arrived around 5pm on a Sunday and found that the kitchen was already closed, which was a shame as we would have happily eaten there. Instead, we had to venture out to find dinner elsewhere. All in all, it has its charms, but definitely room for improvement in a few key areas.

Had a lovely afternoon tea for mothers day. We were served by a lovely lady called Trish. She was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. It was a lovely afternoon. Thank you Trish. X

Spoke to Joe yesterday to book a tabke, was very pleasant and helpful. We had the meas today as a. family. The food was really nice and good sized portions, the service was also good. The only thing that let it down a bit was that the kitchen hadn't told the server on the till that one of the meals we ordered wasn't available,we.pick a replacement only to find out they had no coleslaw. But still we enjiyed the food and would return. The atmosphere in the pub was very relaxed, with background music, which was just the right level so we could talk to each other. Staff checked everything was ok as well.

We stayed at the hotel for a few nights. The room and bathroom are spacious. The breakfast was really nice and the staff were friendly. The bathroom could do with a refurbishment as it didn't feel clean and the heater didn't seem to work.

Had a lovely John smiths, from a lovely lad yesterday. I think his name was Ron. It went great with me lasagne. Me wife Judy loved her Carling shandy. Never thought of such a thing! 10/10 would recommend.

Unfortunately been going down hill for the last few months. The beer is consistently flat and have to keep asking for another. The quality of food has also been an issue of late too and the service at the bar also getting slack. Such a shame as the atmosphere is always great but needs serious improvement soon before it loses anymore regular customers.

Bar service is good and friendly but the food takes forever to arrive and is overly expensive for what it is. The eating area and toilets could do with a makeover.

As with my 4 previous visits faultless service from staff. Lovely food, had jacket with turkey and cranberry and bacon bits. Absolutely delicious ( as was the fish baguette on previous visit). Really good value. Enough people in for atmosphere but not too many so pressure for table. No complaints

The food was absolutely terrible, burnt steak, 11 chips, half a tomato and a small portion of peas, for £12.99, both myself and my partner have been struggling with our tummy's all night, lovely staff and atmosphere though, I we won't be eating dinner there again, I must admit that the breakfast was quite good though

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Unfortunately there had been a recent water leak in our accommodation and the doormat had been removed but this didn't detract from the room which was very comfortable and the bed was great. We only stayed for one night but the breakfast the following morning was so good that we were tempted to stay another night! I would thoroughly recommend the Midland.

Not a hotel per say. Simply a pub with a few rooms. No reception area and limited staff. If you are a single guy this would suit as the bar has large screens showing sport but certainly not good for couples looking for a nice environment. Room was not clean either, bin had not been emptied and it was generally below average.

Initially this seemed a lovely pub / coffee shop. Sadly the customer service and the unprofessional staff behaviours let it down. The member of staff who put our order through on the till was lovely, they had to shut the door to the kitchen due to the loud swearing coming from it. Another member of staff thought it was funny to talk down to the staff member making the drinks, criticising their skills in a serious (but meant as a jokey) way. The same member of staff then decided to mess around with the cleaning spray and sprayed it in one girl's eyes causing her great distress. The drinks took almost 15 mins to make which is a ridiculous wait time. And whilst waiting to have to witness all that we did, with our toddler watching, was not good. The drinks were average. Suffice to say we won't be returning anytime soon.

Had a wonderful afternoon here today, met up with my family, atmosphere, and friendliness of staff is quite refreshing . We will definitely be returning, and recommending it to friends. Thank you.

Nice outside seating area even though it's right next to busy main road. It's a bog standard pub chain restaurant menu. Disappointing portion sizes for the cost. £14 for a crispy cauli salad that was mostly made up of iceberg lettuce. Most disappointing was the kids menu, where a starter of 'garlic bread strips' was actually one small slice of garlic bread , for a cost 99p on top of the menu price. Rip off. Also kids sausage and mash menu was delivered to the table without the gravy that it was supposed to come with. So when we asked for it, it then came far too hot for my granddaughter to enjoy it with her meal. Simple things easily sorted out! The menu here used to be really good and great value but since it's been taken over, a couple of years ago I think, the food isn't what it used to be quality and cost wise.

Honestly laughable food portions nowadays. Used to feel really good value for money but it feels like the new owners (?) are taking the mick (think it’s now a Stonehouse pub, rather than being locally owned). Nearly gagged when the £1 side portion on garlic bread was literally one scrap of the cheapest supermarket baguette type… embarrassing to serve that when we all know those baguettes cost like 19p for a whole one 😂🙂‍↕️. Paid £12 for salads and both types were just a bowl of lettuce with either chicken breast and some scabs of bacon or deep fried cauliflower (Ve option). So little extra to make it a hearty lunch. Will not get food again- nice for a drink outside though :)

It's ok, just your average pub doing the average things ( big screen sport & dart board ) beers average but the price is a bit OTT🍺 😳

Cheese & beans toastie on brown with dirty fries. The toastie has never seen any cheese. It was literally 2 slices of brown toast with beans thrown in the middle m, I guess somewhere there may have been some cheese? The dirty fries was a tiny bowl with cheap frozen chips and again you couldn’t see or taste the cheese, with the tiniest portion of spring onions on top. Very very poor My husbands burger was a very cheap frozen burger £25 wasted

Absolutely lovely place to stay. We had a family room which was quite spacious and located in an outbuilding, the former barn. There were coffee making facilities and a nice shower room. The staff were all super nice and helpful. We didn't have dinner in the pub but breakfast was a delight. We were only passing through but I'd definitely recommend it as a nice place to stay and would go again in a heartbeat!

Clean and friendly. Rooms on ground floor. Good parking. Tea and coffee in room. No fridge. Showers no baths. Huge fridge outside rooms very noisy overnight. Beds small. Need new pillows. Warm and cosy.

The breakfast was average but overpriced, 2x full breakfasts and 2x cups of tea for £26+ 🙁. This was topped off by an extremely rude and abrupt elderly blond waitresses. But the first young girl who served us was amazing and friendly to add a positive ✨️ ☺️

Another very good stay at the Midland Hotel. We like that the rooms are separate in a little attached courtyard. They are very quiet rooms and relaxing. Breakfast is very good and I asked for croissants one morning and that was quickly provided. The staff were very gracious about some feedback I gave them. We will be back next time we visit Leeds. Stayed in the stables for the night great room very clean and spacious food was super yummy specially the cheesy mushrooms! Highly recommend

Came here today with my Grandma for lunch and had such a wonderful experience. I had the philly steak sandwich and Grandma has the beetroot and sweet potato tortellini and we both enjoyed our meal so much. The service from the team was great and the atmosphere was so nice and chill. The outside area looked great too, especially in the sunshine!

We visit here on a lunch time and always enjoy the food. Reasonably priced, and sometimes they have offers on, so it works out really well. It's very hard to get parked in the car park, but there's street parking just around the corner. There's also a coffee shop attached to the pub, which looks great but haven't tried this yet.

Lovely place. I'd say it looks better from the outside, but it has a really good atmosphere inside. We've only been twice but no complaints from us (and my husband complains EVERYWHERE!). Will definitely be going again. Oh and they have the cutest little train that runs above your head, all around the pub 😃

Food all over the floor. Sticky tables. Party of 6. Scampi was seriously over cooked more like bullets. Sharer platter over cooked chicken was very dry. Steak was over cooked order medium rare, arrived well done. Peppercorn strange. Tiny portions for the price. No one asked if everything was OK. Wasn't offered any condiments. Certainly won't be returning

Found this little gem on passing by on the o2/ 01/24. From going into the pub and hearing the laughter by the little ginger waitress was very infectious. We had a lovely meal very hearty burger from the chef Joe, lovely atmosphere great laugh with the ginger one funny as.. Deffo be back

Stopped by for a drink whilst the washing machine was going and had some time to pass. Really nice bar staff, smiley and friendly, make you feel welcome. The pub is clean and tidy, a nice place to be in. Can't fault it

Afternoon. There wasn’t anyone around to complain too or ask how our food was but we was very dissatisfied with the food we just ate. We ordered a chicken Sub and Fish Finger sub (sub roll) they both came out severely toasted which wasn’t specified on the menu as we didn’t want toasted or cremated?? The rolls were rock solid and the fish fingers were very dark which is usually an indication of old oil. Very poor today and we will not be coming back to this local for food in the future. Thanks

Overnight stay in room 3, with breakfast. Check in was quick. Lovely room, breakfast was cooked to order and set us up for the day. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Never feels the most welcoming of places for some reason to me. Breakfast visitor. Food a 6/7 out of 10, never poor but never 'wow' either....

Definitely the worst place I have visited for a long time. Group of 6 and we ordered two steaks. Left half steak because it was very well done and ordered medium rare. As though it had been cooked and then reheated. Mixed grill same and no sausage. Wasn't asked how the meal was etc as no waiter to be seen until meal finished. Told them about the steaks and they just said they'll have to tell the chef for next time. No apology or offer of something else etc.

Visited for Sunday lunch. The meal had potential. It would have been lovely if - the food had been hot, not luke warm - the pie hadn't been burnt - 2 of the customers had got the meal they ordered. The waitress was very helpful and couldn't do enough.

Coffee was really good, soup was OK, but tiny portion, rip off really. Staff friendly. Will never call again though, due to awfull smell in cafe area. A customer absoutley stunk the place out. Felt really sick and had to sit outside in the cold and rain. Yeh, not the fault of the coffee shop, but when your sick in your mouth with the smell, I won't go back.... Everyone in the cafe left it was awful. Stale piss in not nice when your eating your lunch.

Normally really good service from the lady but this week there was a lad who gave us the wrong toast, wrong milk for the babyccino and wrong coffee. The only thing he got right was the hot chocolate!

Great place. They do a soft play on Wednesday which is perfect to spend time with a babies. Not a big car parking place.

Most of the food on the menu was unavailable so just ended up having a burger but it was quite nice.

The most quaint hotel with the best service. We only stayed one night in our way from London to Edinburgh but it was one of the best stays we’ve had on our two-week UK vacation. Such a good price for a clean, cozy room with a delicious breakfast! (Try the hot chocolate—you will not be disappointed!) And our server was the sweetest lady! Our youngest is such a picky eater and she tried her very best to find something he would eat.

Stayed here for a night in the stables accommodation at the back. Comfortable room with a decent breakfast and excellent coffee in the morning. Good value, 10 minutes from Leeds on the train.

Very disappointed, we had had a drink the previous evening thought we would return to eat, early evening not many people in and the food very disappointing...3 small plates each plate very over cooked. Fish pie, pastry topping well risen but very pale so looked unappetising, the fish sauce very congealed and very small portion at bottom of dish. Staff very unfriendly infact ignored us as we left and they pushed past us and headed into the coffee shop.

Came here on Easter Monday for breakfast with the Easter Bunny as Joe recommended. The coffee was lovely! The train going round the pub is great for kids too!

Called in for a coffee whilst out for a walk. New outside space which is lovely. Vast improvement. It was a nice sunny day so sat in the sunshine with my coffee.

Great place to stay. You have Leeds a mere ten minutes away by train. I brought my Playstation for entertainment, and used my phone hotspot to access my TV programs and YouTube with the console. Easy access to necessities nearby. Food decent. Service was excellent. Room overall was in great condition and comfortable, has literally everything you need if traveling for work. Breakfast was lovely. If you like quiet, this place is QUIET. Bring a personal fan, the room can get stuffy in warm weather. I had spiders jump out at me when I tried to open the window. Also they will reset the room every morning if you don't tell them otherwise. 😂
