Fish is lovely the chips were from yesterday or this morning they were disgusting were the chips... Curry's to thick...

Went after coming back from my holiday And was very disappointed with the fish cakes We were given When opening them up at home the batter on the fish Cakes was like looking at a door stopper It was far too thick and could not be eaten. And I had to take it all off and threw it away Also asked for a pot of mushy peas and Chinese curry Sauce And they were not in there when getting home Will not be returning. The batter must be lighter on the fish cake

Small local fish and chips retailer, consistently good quality food. Very small shop, service slow and disorganised.

Friendly staff, had the meal deal, small fish n chips and side £6.20, was lovely and just right portion size for lunch.

I suggest lunch time specials as it is expensive but it is worth it.

Carnt get any fresher even if the shop was by the sea.

Absolute spot on food and service fish could of been a little bigger but overall very decent and by far better than the one down the road.

Chips need to be cooked longer so they have colour to them

I normally order on their app, it's quick and so easy to use, so I can just turn up on my allocated collection time and they've never let me down. It's always ready and waiting for me. Thanks for your great service.

Quick service, decent fish but pale tasteless chips. Please cook the chips longer and give them some colour.

Below this is my old review, HOWEVER, they have just changed the decor and whilst they were at it they should have renamed it meanlys, so the small portion of fish I was served. I had regular with such a small piece of fish, when I asked for a bigger piece they said they were all weighed.........so what is that weight? please? that just under £10 and I feel robbed, with a can costing £1.20. THis is Bramley, not harrogate. I'm local to Midgleys in LS13 and they are fantastic fish adn chips. They even do Dandilion and Burdock fizz drink and curry sauce. Great flaky fish, nice and fresh and plenty of well cooked chips........... what is there not to like nad if you eat them on the park wall the bin is spitting distance so no dragging your rubbish home

Food is always good from here, staff are friendly enough. Using their app is the best thing about it, being able to pre order and then skip the queue. Would be nice if they checked if anyone has an online order when they're busy as you just end up waiting to be served while your foods getting cold.

I got a Medium Fish + Chips + Mushy Peas Lunchtime meal deal & I was not disappointed, - absolutely fantastic taste, cooked to perfection and reasonably priced, so amazing value!! I can strongly and definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in Fish + Chips!!

Although I pre-ordered I still had as bit of a wait, seemed one woman assistant was doing most of the serving. The fish and chips are good though.

Inconsistent chippy. Occasionally it'll be really good but unfortunately had undercooked chips on a several occasions lately and the portion sizes of the fish are often mediocre. No longer represents good value.

Alright but expensive and the portions are small. They actually cut the fish vertically so you get half a portion then charge you for a full one.

Had to visit here a few weeks ago as Bramley Fisheries was closed. Wish I hadn't bothered. Chips and peas were old and tasteless and I actually took the peas back as I thought I had been given curry sauce instead but I was wrong. Portion size was really small for what you pay for too. Definitely won't be going back.

Nice and friendly staff all the time however, the food standards have gone down hill. Paying nearly £9 for fish and chips to receive a very, very small fish is poor in my opinion and isn't worth the money. I would recommend going to another fish and chip shop that won't oversell just to make their profit margins bigger, I don't even think its full fish at this point after what I've had. What a joke!

Just got home after buying fish and chips and curry really disappointed with the size of the fish I actually thought they had given me a batterd sausage instead .when it costs you near on ten pounds you would expect a fair size fish won't be going back again

Ordered online at 8.30pm on a weekday evening. The ordering process is quick and easy. The website you order and pay looks a little suspicious, but it is all legit and the order went through without any problems. The Fish and Chip shop is open until 10pm each night, but is closed on a Sunday. There is a cold drink fridge inside, serving a selection of soft drinks. Heinz sauces are available to be purchased in squeezable portions. We’ve not had a bad experience buying from this chippy, it’s always been great and is fairly priced. Payment by cash, card and contactless is accepted - which is great!

Poor. Fish was small, dry and cold. Chips were luke-warm and hard suggesting that they had been sat for a while and had gone stale. Expensive considering the lack of quality and portion sizes. Not the first time I've been disappointed but thought I'd give them another go as my usual place was closed. Won't be returning.

This place has really gone downhill. The fish are extremely small, no offer of salt and vinegar with the chips and one of the staff is seemingly just their for show. The chips were cold which shouldn't be happening. This is the third time in a row I've been disappointed and it will be the last time I visit. This place used to be the best around, now it seems very expensive for sub par food.

Absolutely useless can't get served all they want to do is online orders ,2 behind counter 1 serving and an old woman just taking money should get rid of her she doesn't want to do anything.

Use to be quite good. The fish is flavoursome. But the chips are overdone, hard and bitty.

This place has gone somewhat downhill in the last 18 months. Food is Greasy, and the portion sizes have become considerably smaller, yet the prices seem to have gone up. I would no longer recommend, as their much nicer fish and chips available in bramley now.

The quality of this chippy is shocking all the chips are scraggly with green and black bits, the fish fillets consist of more batter than actual fish and the prices have gone up, up and up over the past few month! **update** 2 years later, £8 for fish and chips, look at the absolute state of it, got more meat round my ankles!

It's fish and chips? But not the best, £2.30 for chips, and horribly gritty.. 3 stars is being generous, couldn't eat them, and even the kids complained..

Normally good fish and chips but always find the chips are never really hot.

This wasn't a one off, three times I have received substandard fish! Quite obvious after removing the batter theses had been cut in half to maximize their profits (way too thin!) The only good thing was the staff are friendly but that's no reflection on the food! I will never buy from here again.

Can order by physically going to Midgleys or order online for collection. The food isn't too greasy and is one of the best I've been to. I go there all the time.

Very poor service ordered online. Given a pick up time of 7pm recieved order at 7:25pm. People tuning up that hadn't order and getting served before orders online. Also having to wait for cakes frying when ordered 30mins before pick up time. This is poor organisation of priority to people ordering online. You should prioritse the people who have took the time to order online and pay for order.

Bit pricey but can't beat the food.

I have been a regular customer for a few years and I dont understand the odd negative reviews as every time I have had fish and chips from Midgleys they have been perfect and there have been too many chips.

Waited 45 mins then another 45 minutes after ordering online food was aweful overcooked dry fish dry chips absolute rubbish first and last time I will ever go there not recommended

Portions of chips are very big! Standard chip shop curry sauce, no complaints. Wasn't too keen on the fish, the batter on the fish had a really greasey taste but the fish inside was good. The battered sauage tastes great! Don't bother ordering online, you will just stand and wait like the regular customers. Not sure why they bother taking online orders.

Had some really nice fish and chips and some poor ones too.

As ever great food. I might not have liked the pulled pork fritters. They were still cooked really well, so cant knock them for personal preference.
