Mi & Pho in Manchester

One of my favourite restaurants. The food is amazing and the staff are so pleasant.

I cannot recommend this place enough! Firstly the service is excellent, very friendly and informative staff who are more than happy to explain the menu and recommend dishes that suit your taste! Secondly the food is amazing! The ingredients are so fresh and tastes soooooo good! We've tried several dishes on the menu and nothing had disappointed. Finally the place itself is nicely decorated and has a warm and welcoming feel about it. 5 stars all the way and I can't wait to visit Mi and Pho again.

Truly a hidden gem! The food was first class and a great selection on the menu. You can bring your own wine, always a plus. Service with a smile from the staff and it was quick considering the place was rammed. Prices are remarkably low - four starters and four mains less than £80. If you're thinking of going, I'd book in advance. I can't rate Mi & Pho highly enough.

Highly recommended, great food and lovely staff

Lovely meal at Mi Pho last night, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced! The Pho was superb aswell as the salt and pepper starters and Pad Thai. Service can be a little slow as it’s always heaving but apart from that it’s excellent!

Delicious!!! We’ve been here 3 or 4 times, never disappointed. Veggies in the food are fresh, crunchy, beautifully cooked or stir fried, portions are fantastic. I enjoyed every single bite. Prices are moderate, staff are cordial and respectful, if you don’t know what to order they always kindly make a suggestion. Very IMPORTANT‼️They allow you to bring your own alcohol, Yeepee 🍺🤸🏽‍♂️

Our starters were so nice, was really looking forward to our Pho which unfortunately our chicken was dry which is such a shame because we can remember Mi&Pho made the best-selling Phos in MCR. The member of staff kindly offered 20% off the bill.. Whilst trying to enjoy our meal the kitchen staff were cleaning up for the night. Someone must have left a door or window open because the smell of tobbaco and cannabis came through into the restaurant from the back which was a bit akward (obviously i can't prove the smoke came from a staff member at the restaurant but it wasn't a good look). When we finally finished the meal we went to ask for the bill but wasn't sure how to pay as it was not clear if we needed to pay at the counter or wait for staff to come over with card machine (we had seen other customers pay at table previously). Either way the staff proceeded to chatt for 10+ mins not bothered about us. Normally when at a restaurant staff usually explain how to pay or prompt you they will be back with the card machine but I didn't want to interupt their conversation as I am autistic and find it difficult to interupt people I don't know. Eventually my partner had to ask after about 15 mins of waiting around. It's a shame this place has really gone down from what I remember this was one of Manchesters real Gems!

Had a delicious Vietnamese iced coffee& coconut curry which was delicious ( didn’t take photos of those though). Fast and friendly service

Authentic, lovely, experience with amazing food and service. One if the best new to me experienced this side of Manchester will be back and looking forward to trying more things on the menu.

A good range of food, freshly cooked. Excellent flavours, and we didn't wait long for the food to arrive. Very good reasonable prices. Highly recommended restaurant, it does get quite busy so booking is advised.

This is a great Vietnamese restaurant if you find yourself in the area. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The food was good as well

Amazing food with great service, will definitely be back

I used to love this place but I think it’s gone downhill. I got the chicken pho and papaya salad. The salad was nice but the pho was bland and unflavoured. The chicken in it also tasted slightly old. Service also not the best- the lady manager is a little bit rude in my opinion.

Absolutely lovely restaurant and amazing food, really took me back to my travels in Vietnam

Went before Christmas and the food was excellent. On this visit sadly it didn't live up to the first visit. Needs more consistency Update as of May 27th 2023 Returned to give Mi & Pho another try as past experiences were good. And I am really pleased to say this time is was superb. Ordered three starters ( summer rolls, salt and pepper ribs and spring rolls) all of them were absolutely superb. Although sorry our eye were bigger than our belly. Lol. Mains were equally excellent ( Beef bun saigon and Braised belly pork) The belly pork was absolutely outstanding, service was first class. Really glad we returned after our precious visit.

Fanstastic food, wonderful staff & great ambience 💖💖

I have been going to Mi and Pho for many years, and my family and I have visited dozens of times and had many good meal experiences. I've also left 5 star reviews in the past. However, this visit fell well below the standards I've experienced before. We arrived at the appointed time but the main part of the restaurant still had the majority of tables occupied by diners so we were led to Table 13 (Unlucky for us!!), in an area beyond the main dining room which was absolutely freezing (so cold in fact, that we had to keep our coats on for the duration of our visit). We were then told, by the rather impolite waitress, to order 'immediately' because the kitchen was about to close and informed that we also had to have our starters and main courses served together. We quickly ordered and after a few minutes some of the starters and main courses started to arrive but it was inconsistent and some mains were arriving before the starters. I ordered summer rolls, but they were very badly made and were literally falling apart on the plate, so there was no chance of picking them up to dip in the sauce. The main that I've ordered previously (Bun chicken Combo) was served in one bowl with all the ingredients just piled on top of each other. I don't know if this is now the standard way of serving it now or just "cobbled" together because the staff were in a rush to finish. I went to pay the bill and was asked by the man who took my payment how it was. I explained it wasn't as good as previous visits, but he made no attempt to check what the issues were as he swiped my card. So unfortunately, after this latest visit,  I don't think I'll be coming again based on this poor experience.

I didn’t get any pics as we tucked straight in but as always the food was amazing. The tofu took on the flavours of the Vietnamese curry and the hot and sour soup was tangy and flavourful. Can never go wrong with the special fried rice.

I won’t be ordering from this place again. I waited for two hours for an order that was meant to be delivered within 60 minutes and lied to twice that it was on its way. Why not just tell the truth that an order will take longer. Luckily for me, I placed an online order via their website and card payments had been turned off so it was cash on delivery. And I certainly don’t appreciate the driver turning up at my door after the two hours, when he had been told not to and for him to try an intimidate me. Not acceptable.

Dreadfully bland ! Although this restaurant was recommended we were hugely disappointed. The starters were good but the main courses were a tradegy (sadly). Lacklustre. Won't be returning.

Called delivery. It arrived within 35mins! Portion is big and food is goo!

Used to be a long time customer regularly ordering special pho. Used to be my favourite place to come but few months ago something changed. The pho became tasteless, broth has 0 flavour so it is like eating water with noodles. Vastly disappointing experience. Will probably never come back again unless for other dishes.

Exceeded expectations...fresh and tasty. Papaya salad particularly good.

The food was delicious!!! I also asked if they could put half noodles and half rice because I did not want to eat just noodles, and they were really nice to do that favour for me. The attention was also really nice. You defenetly have to go and try it yourself because it was fantastic!!!!

Gorgeous food, I would highly recommend. I tried the salt & pepper spare ribs, the chicken spring rolls, and the Vietnamese chicken curry. The food had so much flavour and everything I tried was delicious. We’ll definitely be back.

Their website's rubbish and last time I visited the door didn't keep the cold out... but you've not lived til you've tried Mi & Pho's coconut chicken. It's obscenely delicious. All's forgiven

So sad, this was one of our favourite restaurants in Manchester. However, it seems like they've taken on too much. We phoned and booked a table for Friday night, we arrived and there wasn't a table for us and wouldn't be one for a while. It was too busy and they looked really behind on service. Similarly, on our previous trip the food took ages to arrive and you feel kind of forgotten and squashed in while people wait for and receive your takeaways. It's the best Vietnamese food and the staff are lovely, but we can't keep going if you can't rely on a table you book being free and they prioritise takeaway orders over eat-ins.

Small and cosy. Nice simple but tasty food. Good service. Varied menu with lots to choose from. Even better than it was two years ago.

I rarely write comments but I had a really disappointing experience. Despite the restaurant's specialty in Pho, the "rare" beef in my pho soup was fully cooked and lacked flavor, while the broth was thin and tasteless. Additionally, the pho wasn't authentic. The staff, who were all elderly and didn't seem to be professional chefs, communicated with each other in Chinese, and the cashier even didn't know how to use the card machine. Although I finished my food out of courtesy, I hope the restaurant will address these issues for future customers.

Strongly recommend the Goi Du Du (Papaya 🥗). Probably my favourite on the menu. Making this review for myself as much as anyone else. Also had the salt and pepper 🦑 and the beef salad

Reasonable pricing and friendly staff. Food, especially the starters such as the squid and spring rolls, were delicious and came out on time. However, the main dishes did take a while to come out and some were cold. Nevertheless, the pho, which I was trying for the first time, was quite tasty.

The food is 10/10, nice portion sizes, the staff are lovely! Atmosphere is so welcoming, vibe calming! Definitely will come back! All four of us were very happy and satisfied!

Total shame for this place beautiful venue lovely staff but unfortunately, its not just what you go for when eating out its also about the food. The broth was rather tasteless the noodles came clumped together in a cube and the only flavour coning through was the fresh coriander. Regards to the people only having just opened but I feel the kitchen needs kick up the bum when it cones to quality and flavour

Food was nice when it finally arrived after waiting almost 1.5 hours for the starters but the service was beyond shocking. It was blamed on the fact that nearly all of the kitchen staff are new but they should have stopped takeaway orders and focussed on the customers in their restaurant or not let the restaurant get full if they can’t handle the orders.. We ordered a portion of spring rolls which never turned up and the front door is extremely draughty as well making the place quite cold if you’re sat near there. Won’t be returning again.

Food is always good but not enough space between tables. Everybody crammed in, it's uncomfortable. Service has been poor the last few times.

If you like beef riddled with grissle & fat then you'll love it here! Dined here last night & it was rubbish. They have no alcohol licence either, so if you are silly enough to go, take your own booze to ease the pain. Rubbish, rubbish & rubbish.

Delicious food, fast service. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your on and they will charge you few £ Cork fee. You might need reservation for dinner.

Lovely food and the two young male and female staff members were lovely. Only downside is that the front door is knackered and won’t shut, when you’re sat next to it in the freezing cold and have to keep shutting it, it’s not a great experience. The waitress kept running to close it behind every time someone went out (when I wasn’t doing it). If the owner has a Tesla and a mi and pho private reg you should be able to spend a few quid on the front door

Food was great as always. However I was seated right next to the door, which is very drafty. Needs fixing.

Wonderful low-key restaurant with authentic and delicious food. I can understand why they have won so many awards and accolades. Food was great, service was excellent and the atmosphere was just right to talk and catch-up. Amazing value for such a great restaurant and if I was back in the area I would make sure I dropped in.

Healthy for us anyway, different experience, parking a little difficult

Had an incredible meal here! Beautiful small place with some atmosphere on a Friday night. Had the salt and pepper ribs and wings which were really nice but the mains were something else. The seabass with mango is insane, the pho was great but the star of the show was the braised pork belly, I could have run into the back to give the chef a hug it was immense. BYOB is just the icing on the cake too, allows you to spend some more on having another main or two to share.. We'll most definitely be back, hopefully regularly!

Always great food and quality. Also in environmental friendly packaging. They even accomodated my random pregnancy request. Will keep coming back!

Used to be one of my favorite pho restaurants in Manchester, very popular in local so make sure you book a table!

Well how very disappointing. Says they close at 10pm - to find last orders are at 8.30pm. They’re often very busy, therefore we rocked up at 9pm on a Wednesday (02/11/22) to be turned away. I’m curious to know whether the ownership know last orders are at 8.30pm? If so, this really should be clear so customers don’t go out of their way to be quite rudely denied.

Always love coming here, whether we are going on holiday or picking up from the airport, we always come here!!

Beautiful place with amazing food. If you love Asian flavour, its a must try. Their spring rolls and summer rolls are highly recommended. Absolutely delightful. The staff is so cool and friendy and it's a BYOB. worth it.

Delicious food, vibrant atmosphete, outstanding!

If I could give zero I would Went for a friend’s birthday and the food was nothing special. But my main concern was the fact that at the end of the evening, I went to the ladies before we left, whilst I was in the cubicle, a young female employee was cleaning the mirrors and sink and a male member of staff came into the toilets and was making advances on the girl, who was not reciprocating. He was verbally and physically pushing himself on her and being disgustingly crude. She pushed him away. I came out of the cubicle and spoke with her. Apparently it was the chef, he was drunk and he regularly tries to make advances on her. I told her she didn’t have to accept it and that she needed to report it. She said she needed the job. I advised that no job is worth that sort of behaviour from a colleague and that she has choices and should be able to do something about it. Needless to say, we will not be visiting again.

Loved this place, great vegan options and the salt and pepper tofu was out of this world !

Amazing dining experience. The menu is easy to understand and choose from even for a first timer. The food is flavourful and fresh. Orders came in pretty quickly and I loved the cosy ambience. Will definitely be back to try more dishes.

For a great all round Vietnamese experience, Mi and Pho is the place to come. Varied menu with vegan and vegetarian options, this restaurant has return value.

The food was amazing! I don't often leave reviews on reastraunts but this one is so good i couldn't not leave A reveiw. The food was delicious and the sauce was THE BEST.

What can I say.. Only that this place makes incredible food! We had starters between two and a main each.. Out with a group of 6. They turned off all the lights and all the staff sang happy birthday to my friend! Its a BYOB.. Close to a tesco if you forget! And to top it one of the cheapest restaurant meals I have had in a very long time.. Coming in at £16 each with tip.. You do need to book as it is always busy.. And for gokt reason!

Made a booking on Monday for the Thursday. It was accepted. Restaurant then cancelled the booking on the Tuesday. Poor Service and no answer when I tried to ring. Disappointing.

Tried their vegan pho at escape to freight Island yesterday evening. It had no flavour. Tasted like deep fried tofu and vegetables floating in freshly boiled kettle water. The broth was just terrible.

Great options, service and tasty food for a very reasonable price.

We go here a lot. My boyfriend even went Saturday afternoon after watching the footy and ordered himself the same main course he'd had when we went together the night before. I quite often go and eat alone at the breakfast bar when he's watching footy and i want something tastier and healthier than what they serve in the pub. The tofu coconut sizzler is a favourite and a must try. We had the vegetable spring rolls for the first time last week and they were some of the nicest spring rolls I've ever had. Hot and sour soup (tom yum style) really fresh and nice. So glad to have this place on my doorstep.
