a bright high ceiling open space with tables perfect for big groups. great coffee and good cakes. great staff. more of a place to go with friends than on your own.

The food is amazing, but what surprised me the most was the service. The barista Vera is extraordinarily nice. She’s lovely and has such a welcoming personality. Definitely bringing my friends round!!

Went to this coffe shop few times. The food is great with some vegeterarians and vegan options available. The staff is super friendly and there is a nice atmosphere. Ideal location as well as it's near the meadows. I highly recommend this place😁

One staff member is extremely rude and tells customers to leave for over welcoming their stay despite buying products. Coffee was also burnt - I should add as a reply to the manager of the store, I believe he has mixed myself up with another customer, as I ordered 2 coffees and a Kombucha over about 2 hours. Cameron’s distasteful and snarky response is nearly as bad as his coffee!

We’ve been twice and each time has been as good as the other. The vibe is bright, you’re never short of something beautiful to look at, whether it’s the plants, the cool well styled furniture, the architecture and interior, oh I could go on.. the food is very reasonable in price and comes out with a smile. Last but not least, in fact the reason we went in the first place… the amazing coffee ☕️ served by friendly smiley staff. The initiative is interesting and for a great cause 🥰

This cafe has always been a total joy. From the very beginning in the courtyard 'sunshack', to the huge windows, uplifting vibes and sweet coffee smells of the pinkish gallery bar. The coffee from Malawi is delicious in all it's forms and the edibles are scrumptious. I love this place, its welcoming energy & the rich mix of customers & staff. An Edinburgh jewel.

I can’t believe I did not come here sooner! It’s spacious, sunny, leafy, and cozy - the perfect place to take your laptop and get into work flow. Highly recommend to students during mid-term season when the library is out of space. The coffee is good too (and the cakes look fantastic, although haven’t tried them yet). I have yet to find a cafe in Edinburgh that sells a cappuccino for less than £3.50

We just had an espresso and a cappuccino which were average, but the atmosphere, the friendly people (both staff and customers) made up for it.

Such a great place do study! Power plugs and wifi, no too noisy, just the perfect hum to get you in the mood to get work done. The food is hearty and affordable.

The place used to be very good. Now it's horrible. They have recently closed half of the cafeteria and right now it is very poorly distributed. Too many tables for such a small place. Too many. What was once the best place in Edinburgh to work, study or simply spend a pleasant time reading a book while enjoying a delicious coffee, is now noisy, uncomfortable, overwhelming, you can't move. You need half the cafeteria to move so you can get to your table. The experience now is horrible. Also the quality of the cakes has gone down a lot. So, either you reopen the other half of the cafeteria or you will lose customers.

I had the buttermilk fried chicken with Gochujang sauce + Coleslaw. It was absolutely banging. Had some lovely wine and the service was fantastic too!

A gem amongst cafes in Edinburgh. Food was delicious, staff were outstanding, ambiance was exemplary.

Sensational. We had a great meal here. Relaxed spot, and tucked away, so it's quite quiet (for now - Fringe is coming!! and this place will pick up a head of steam). The food was delicious. I had the Sichuan Tofu, Eggs & Chips, but also got a taste of the Saag Paneer, and Gochujang chicken. Each meal was good, though I think I got the pick of the bunch! Tiramasu for dessert - I'll be back for seconds.

The cafe is a lovely large space to hang out and enjoy some food or coffee. I love the wooden chairs and large tables and the staff are always a delight.

Sadly didn't go here but enjoyed the Record Fair downstairs

Been coming here the last few months (sometimes 4-5 days in a row), this place is the best to study, write and read, particularly if you find the library too quiet and the average cafe too crammed. Incredibly spacious and greenery all around. Problem is the lack of sockets, but the cakes make up for that (okay, not really when your laptop is low on battery, but can always ask others to let you charge for a bit while you eat cakes). Their cakes are always amazing so whoever bake them, kudos to you 🙌🏻 another thing, please please use some kind of cake cutters so they are always the same size 🫠
