Mezzo in Oldham

Excellent food, waiters and staff spot on, reasonable prices. Tiny criticism asked for water not brought, irish coffee liquer not strong and weak cream (personal preference). Other than that recommend chicken and steak dishes especially. Skipped starters to ensure room for desserts, fudge cake especially nice, light sponge lovely. Suggest check the toilets though as early evening and cubicle out of toilet roll. Wheelchair accessible ground floor.

Excellent food quick service went with family and will definitely return . food service was very high standards Even catered for on of our family members with dietary needs.

Extremely underwhelming, first time I’ve been and was looking forward to giving it a try. Utterly disappointing. Service was poor and had to wait around for a waiter. I had a mojito which was very poorly presented overflowing the glass. Fries were like crisps with no potato and the sauce for the pasta was a funny taste and not pleasant at all. Won’t be returning unfortunately and for the service and food the price was ludicrous.

The menu is excellent, lots of interesting choices, plus specials. We were seven in our party. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed all of their meals. The chefs certainly know what they are doing. The waiters were very pleasant, helpful and efficient. Great wine list too. We will be back.

It was our wedding anniversary and we had booked a table. It was fairly quiet but we sat in the front terrace area which is very nice. The service is excellent and the food was lovely and a reasonable price

We chose this restaurant as some friends had recommended it and we were at a loose end for dinner. Its a bit of a way for us, too far for a taxi and so one of us had to drive. We booked a table, were warmly greeted when we arrived and shown to our table, not one in the upper area, but ok. The general surroundings are warm, comfortable and contemporary. We ordered drinks and food, the drinks came quite quickly, as did the starter, the mains took a little longer than expected, but no big issues. The starter of pate was nice, I am not sure it was on site made, but all in all very enjoyable. I had the Turbot and my wife had the sea bass, both meals were very nice and the accompanying potatoes with the Turbot sauce, made my meal a great meal. We had a cheese board to finish and this was perhaps the only negative element of the meal, it took too long to arrive and when it did it was bland, nothing wrong with the selection of cheeses, but would have liked a bit more flavour. As we left we were bid farewell in a warm manner, we both thought the meal and overall service very good and will certainly be returning to try the pasta - and looking forward to it.

First time for all of us and I couldn’t say a bad word about the whole experience. Food, staff and everything top notch. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

What a fantastic night we had. Fabolous food and excellent value. The Hake was delicious! Would highly recommend this place. Service was amazing and nothing was to much trouble even on a very busy Friday night. We are lucky to have you on our door step. Looking forward to our next visit.

Having visited Mazzo many times since its humble beginnings I have always been impressed with the quality of food served. However I’m sad to say my visit yesterday was rather disappointing. The restaurant is beautiful with a decadent, luxurious ambiance about it. As always staff were attentive and polite. The Friday lunch time vibe was vibrant consisting mainly of ladies that like to lunch myself included! My favourite lobster ravioli dish was lacking in taste, texture and size (I was half wondering if I’d mistakenly ordered a small lunchtime dish as I was still hungry after my meal.)I just hope my experience was an unfortunate blip and my next visit will make up for my disappointment felt yesterday.

Everything over salted! Nat worth the Money please don't take this as an authentic Italian. It is not! I would try elsewhere!

Absolutely amazing. Food and service were both fantastic. We both chose steaks and they were amazing. Service was brilliant, they couldn’t do enough for us. Great atmosphere and brill evening, thank you Mazzo will absolutely be returning!

Having been to Mazzo several times, I have written very positive reviews on the place, previously. Only after attending today must I hopefully give the owners some advice. Don’t let your standards slip! Starter, prawn Gamberoni. Delicious as usual but quite cold. Never had that before. Crab linguini. Didn’t taste/see one speck of crab. Had to ask for a dessert menu! Should have been offered one, automatically. The place was very busy at lunchtime & that tells you how good it is. Decor beautiful. Lots of staff but they lacked guidance. I’m sure today was just a hiccup. It won’t stop me going again as it’s usually 10/10.

Absolutely brilliant what a lovely evening with my friend, Endrit really looked after us and nothing was to much trouble, I requested a sauce with a fillet steak that was not on the menu and Endrit made it happen! The food was amazing, perfectly cooked by the chef, a really comfortable , clean and stylish restaurant, would 100% recommend Mazzos

This is my third time visiting mazzo, every time i have been staff have been rude and have treated us like an inconvenience. the most recent time i have been was when me and a friend placed an order for collection. on arrival we were not greeted and had to ask for help. after then waiting for our order a female member of staff came out of the kitchen with our takeaway back. the women was yelling at other staff shouting who's order is this, so i told her it was ours then she interrupted said no its not and walked off. shortly after a different staff member brought the bag back as it was our order. food is lovely but staff treat customers as an inconvenience. very poor.

We hadn’t been since the Mazzo moved. Booking a table for 5 or more turned out to be a shambles and far too long to explain ( we were a table of 7). Turned up on the night and our table wasn’t ready. Asked to wait at the bar and have a drink. We didn’t get a wine list and nobody came to serve us. Before we had been able to sort any drinks our table was ready. After that the food was first class and the service generally good. An enjoyable night and we would go again. Certain areas they could improve to look after their customers.

Six of us visited the restaurant on a Friday evening there was a mix up with one of the starters the waiter who served us was very rude and abrupt I emailed the restaurant the day after regarding this yet three days later and still not received a reply very poor customer service considering our bill was just under £300.

Went a few times in the previous venue, was hoping the noise would be sorted out as the building is bigger but it was worse! You can barely hear the conversation on your own table. Lots of favourites taken off the menu which I wasn't happy about. Starter was good but main course (pasta) was basic and not worth the money. General service was okay but one of the waiters made a flippant comment about me being stupid which is unacceptable. We will spend our hard earned cash elsewhere in future. Their success seems to be more because of the lack of other options in the area, rather than their quality.

Such a shame as this is a lovely restaurant but the food should be the star and it isn't. Crab starter was nice, ribs had a nice flavour but were tough to eat. Lobster ravioli had very little filling and was just mushy and the bisque lacked flavour.

Wednesday evening birthday meal with family, 8 of us. The venue was smart, modern and clean. We had a good variety of starters and main courses - ribs, pizza, chicken, pasta, ravioli. Everyone enjoyed the food and the customer service was spot on.

The restaurant has had a full refurbishment and looks amazing. It has curb appeal on arrival & the restaurant was very busy, presenting with a good atmosphere. We had drinks at the bar & then went to our table. The table didn’t have salt and pepper on the tables which was a shame. Unfortunately starters arrived intermittently rather than together. Very disappointing especially because we had placed a pre order beforehand. We also ordered a number of garlic breads to come with the starters but the kitchen hadn’t received this information which left the kitchen having to cook leaving the party waiting again for food. Sadly, the service wasn’t great and overall we found that 13 guests were waiting a lot for their food. The mains came and once everyone’s meal arrived the food was very good, but I feel there is a real training need for staff. The staff were polite and trying to please but the standard of service needs to be polished to meet the impression that mazzo wants to deliver. We had to ask for black pepper and we also had to ask for salt which I thought should have been available on the tables. Nice evening but disappointing.

4th visit since Mazzos reopened. Still disappointed. The greeting lacks as menus are just plonked on your table. Asked if someone had taken our drinks order 6 times in less than a minute. Food ordered quickly. Starters came out 2 minutes later. Mains served straight away. The pasta was lukewarm and pate starter looked plain but tasted ok. Desert came rapid again. Three courses were completed in under an hour. The service is rushed. The experience feels rushed. The main restaurant lacks ambiance. It’s so noisy and the customers seem very young and drunk (maybe that’s the client base they are aiming for) I am a great believer in giving restaurants a few chances- especially at the minute. I wish them well - I won’t be returning.

Booked a table for 5 at 7pm, still waiting 45 mins later, this is a regular occurrence, if Mazzo want to keep the customers that got them to this stage of their development they need to get their act together, because the service is a shambles
