Mezzeh house Lebanese restaurant in Vale of White Horse

Went there with the wife and kid today. What a regret that I've never been there before! The service we received was so welcoming and heartful, the food was so well seasoned and prepared with mastery and everything tasted delicious. We got the Mezzeh special for 2 and enjoyed every course of the meal. The price was fair and we even treated ourselves to an extra portion of Kibbys (which were perfect). Will definitely be coming back here.

Visited Mezzah House this weekend with a group of 5 on Saturday evening. The meal was beautiful, flavours and quality were amazing, first time trying lebanese food and we were all very impressed. In the group we tried the mezzah special and the mixed grill, all came to table in a timely manner. Service at the restaurant was impecable, polite and enthsiastic people working there. Thank you for a great experience and evening.

We stumbled across this lovely family run Lebanese restaurant while in Oxford. Amazing food - we ordered rice swarma and sambosak. The food was freshly prepared and it didn’t disappoint.

Delicious authentic food! Ordered the mezze mix and a vegetarian main in a group. The food was so flavourful. Order the mezze mix to try a bit of everything if you are not sure what to get and you won't be disappointed. The staff were so nice too, the lady that served us was very attentive and helpful. Overall a great experience, if in the area will definitely visit again!

It was nice to allow my taste buds to experience something different to the usual fare served in the more frequented restaurants. The soujouk - Armenian sausages - were deliciously spicy, whilst the Arayas - grilled Lebanese bread stuffed with mince meat - were an interesting delight especially when fresh and hot. Both of these at £6.50 from the hot mezze menu. Similarly the Feta salad and the Fattoush salad from the cold mezze menu were good value for money and very tasty. To match the food, the service was cheerful and excellent.

Lovely evening at the Mezze House in Abingdon. The atmosphere and service is good, the food delicious and plentiful. I can highly recommend the Vegetarian special followed by Lebanese coffee.

The main dish I ordered arrived barely warm and was missing rice. £13 for half a carton with some scraps of lamb in a sauce. This was supposed to be a nice valentines treat. Thanks for nothing. Enjoy the money folks cos it’s the last time I will be ordering from you.

We were looking forward to celebrate our anniversary in this place since a while. Unfortunately, despite the opening hours written on google, it was closed on lunch time today without a word on the door. We had to go somewhere else, very disappointed.

45 minutes to get served, one after the other (our group of 7 would have liked to eat at the same time, that’s usually the idea about going to the restaurant )… very very disappointing …. And unfortunately the food does not compensate for the absence of service…

Incredible Lebanese food, fresh ingredients and full of flavour. Amazing service too, so friendly and can’t do enough for you. We drive from Littlemore because it’s worth the trip. Love this place.

The price/quality is not good. We ordered a wrap without lamb and they put lamb on it. Plus they didn’t send the salad and potatoes which are part of the wrap item. The halloumi flat bread was burned

We came across this lovely Lebanese restaurant in Abingdon. It is run by a lovely family who were very warming on arrival and throughout our dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious! We will most definitely go back. Highly recommended.

Found this place by chance on google maps whilst looking for something different than usual pub fare. Have to say the food was excellent. Had the special for 2 and the portions were plenty for us both. Main course was very tasty and again a good size portion. The restaurant wasn't packed but a steady flow of customers. The service was excellent. All in all a great experience and if we lived in the area we would be regulars. A little gem

Food was cold!!! Chips not worth having as they are oven chip that are fried and portion sizes were horrendous for the money!!! Not worth paying for!!!!!!!!!

Best Lebanese Food in Oxfordshire! Dine in and also Take away available! Good prices. Very nice ,tasty and fresh food. Been here once to try now we can’t stop eating the food from here! Definitely recomand!

The foods were delicious and the owners were very friendly. They have great lebanese foods, lebanese house wines and desserts. The walls are decorated with photos of Tyre, Lebanon. Dark but good atmosphere.

Amazing food and lovely staff. We opted for the chef's choice, the food was plentiful and delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you very welcome. We highly recommend and can't wait to return.

A bit disappointed £50 for 8 dishes which was worth the money no bread to eat the hummus ,

Bag had collapsed and was covered in oil dripping everywhere.. Food arrived squashed but tasted ok. Somewhat disapointing.

Tiny Lebanese restaurant, purely not spicy Mediterranean cuisine, don’t expect British style food. Very friendly owner, fast service. I recommend the typical hummus, hummus with lamb but everything is very good for me. Maybe the place needs a refresh nevertheless a nice place, I will go to here again.

Excellent food and very warm atmosphere!

Place smells damp. Service was non existant. Took order and after 30 minutes they told me one dish was not available. After 45 minutes got mu food which should have been grilled lamb kofte. Instead i got 2 small overfried oval meatballs. I told them what on earth is this and walked out. 5 people on a nearby table had got tiny portions and the wrong dishes. This was the worst experience i ever had. All staff were clueless.

The most delicious food and friendliest staff! I can't recommend this place enough. I've lived in Abingdon for 4 years and can't believe I've never been here before. Truly a hidden gem.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, a lot of food variety, many vegetarian and non vegetarian options, super fresh food and a lovely warm staff. If you are ever in Abingdon this is definetly the place to go. You won't regret it!

I originally rang to place an order but no one picked up. I then answered a call and it was Mezzeh House apologising and explaining he was on his own. His manner was sincere and the Lebanese word dropping ‘habibi’ made me smile and appreciate the exchange even more. The food was more hit and less miss; we loved the fried florets but the mamoul was somewhat dry - some of the meat dishes were a little flavourless and the baba ghanouj lacked consistency but nevertheless I would order from them again

First time visitor, had a really great time,all of our 12 party really enjoyed the delicious food, service was quick and efficient, the atmosphere turn out to be really good because of the other factors above, reasonably priced as well, top Mark's all round

Came to Abingdon for the weekend. We have never had Lebanese food before and were a bit unsure what to order. We went for the Mezzeh for two and the dishes we loved the most, were ones we might not have picked ourselves. The service was fantastic and we loved the fact that it is a family run restaurant. We loved the food so much we had to go dnd compliment the Chef. I just wished we lived closer to eat here more often. Presentation of food was 10/10 and could not fault the food, it was fantastic 5/5.

Oh my goodness what a treat! We had the fixed vegetarian menu at £20 a head plus calamari on the side. All dishes clearly freshly prepared, charming staff, house wine was delicious, all reasonably priced. Genuinely cannot recommend highly enough!

Laughably small portions for the price. I would say the price is at least double what it should be for the price. The food itself is okay, just toddler-sized.

Food was delicious, delivered in time, but stone cold. Had to reheat everything. I believe it was probably cooked ahead of time and just waiting for the deliver time. Very disappointing

My daughter was visiting from out of town, it was a few weeks ago. I had the mixed Swarmah, and it was amazing. My daughter loved her food, too. Usually, I get a takeout, first time eating in, I'll definitely be back.

Cauliflower was absolutely DIVINE. Falafel was q little dry Moussaka was tasty but expensive for a very small portion

We had an amazing birthday take away and the food was delicious as always. The owner even went the extra miles to deliver when the employee made an error with the order. Tasty food, great costumer service, I highly recommend Mezzeh House. Will come back!

We visited Abingdon and were amazed to find this Lebonese restaurant. It was our first taste of Lebanese food and it was fabulous. The place has character and charm, the lady that served us was so helpful and friendly. We will definetely be going back, this time for an evening meal.

Portion sizes were on the small side and was a bit more pricey than expected but otherwise the food was good and staff was really lovely.

Visited for my birthday dinner and had such a lovely evening! It was like being welcomed into someone's home; such a warm and personalised service. We went for the set menu and it was an absolute banquet of tastiness. And such good value!! So pleased to have found this place and looking forward to my next visit already :)

Food was ok, however the restaurant missed one of the dishes off of the order. When they gave us the missed item, they then hadn’t added the meat. Restaurant tells us to request a refund through JustEat, but JustEat refuse to acknowledge it. Won’t be ordering from either again!

The food was wonderfully tasty however 2 small points though, the falafel was very tasty and served warm however they were just a tiny bit overcooked and on the verge of being a little dry which is a shame. Secondly, I was a bit surprised at the size of tbe portion on the main. I ordered a vegetarian moussaka and it was really small for £12. Having said that it was tasty and well presented.

The best Lebanese food in town!

The lamb was not cooked properly. It was half raw and when it says it gives chicken, lamb and beef and a cutlet expect only one each which is a shame for the price youre paying for. The beef as well it didn't have any meat in it looked like it was left over after someone ate it. Never would ask for takeaway nor would recommend to my friends at all.

I had the Mixed Shawarma to take away, it was absolutely amazing.

Had a great meal, great service. Need to try more off the menu for a 5 star. So far, so good.

So glad to be able to come back here. Was one of our favourite meals 3 years ago in Abingdon and was again tonight. Charming host, unless rushed fresh food, lots of chiice, looked after us all dinner then organised a fantastic taxi to get us back to our hotel.

Great tasting food, in a cozy atmosphere. Only downside was probably the price of the sharing platter. One would have probably got more value if individual dishes were ordered as the platter only had a bit of rice and three slices of a different meat. If you want to enjoy the 🇱🇧 cuisine in the Mezzeh house, order your own plate. You can probably try something off your friends plate but £20 a head to share a platter, you will be out of pocket. Good vegetarian starter choices though with the platter, but that was the highlight of the meal.

Worst food I have ever had. We ordered the Mezzeh special for two people but received half a serving of mixed grill just a small portion of beef and chicken (missing lamb and kaftah). The Mezzeh was hummus, moutabel, dry falafel, soggy vine leaves, partially cooked spiced potatoes, bread and 4 pieces of baklava. All this cost us £40. We rang to complain that half of our meal was missing they just said this was the correct amount and would give a discount for the next order. I feel like I was ripped off.

Lovely staff. Lovely food. Never had a bad experience with them. Took my girlfriend once as we couldn't get a reservation anywhere and now she insists we go back all the time!

Absolutely loved Mezzeh House Lebanese. Great online reservations. I think it's family run. We let them choose what we had. A multitude of mezze kept coming. All delicious! Main course was lovely (I'd love to go back and try everything else as well). Baklava for dessert! If you haven't been, you are missing out.

Excellent! 5* delicious food, nice atmosphere and an excellent waiter, knowledgeable, attentive but have us space to enjoy the food.
