Decided on this restaurant over a traditional pub. Glad I did. Good service and very tasty food.

food was overrated ,oveepriced ,bland ,cheap street food , not much value for money. staff helpful and friendly ,not traditional at all the atmisphere . Definetly not worth recommending ,as a hotspot.

Our first time. We had a lovely warm welcome and the food was awesome. We will definitely come back again.

We’ve been to a few Turkish restaurants, and this one is fantastic. The food is authentic and beautifully presented. They prepared a a fabulous feast for that wasn’t even on the menu. The restaurant was quite busy, but the food promptly arrived served by incredibly friendly staff. It was a a real pleasure, and everyone enjoyed the evening. Highly Recommend

The meal at Meze by Meze really exceeded all our expectations. The service was fantastic and the food well seasoned and cooked over a proper charcoal fire. It was also very reasonably priced. Can highly recommend.

Great food and friendly staff. Recommended to experience Turkish food. Last night we went as a family and we all loved the food. Even my youngest, slightly fussy eater, loved the chicken wings, as well as halloumi, her favourite. Baklava for dessert was perfect for all. We drank the Efes, Turkish beer, and again top choice.

Best Turkish food locally. Drinks are ok. Atmosphere is a little lacking somehow. But the food is amazing.

Ate here early Saturday evening as they only had limited availability at short notice . The staff were very friendly and the service was good. The menu offered a nice window into Turkish cuisine. The food was amazing - cooked to order so there was a bit of a wait but we'll worth it.

Found this place by chance Easter Saturday. Sat outside sun shining . Lovely food, simply burger n curly fries. Well cooked. Turkish beer delicious. 🍺 Service with a lovely smile. Great hour spent here. Thank you.

This might be my favourite restaurant in saffron walden. Excellent Turkish cuisine, and a small but perfectly formed range of cocktails. Great lunch time cafe too. It's rarely full, and I think this is because whilst the service and atmosphere are respectively efficient and warm, there isn't much 'theatre'.

Lunch with family. All food was excellent, Steak burger and Kofte wrap in particular. Expensive for lunch but you certainly get what you pay for. I'll be returning.

Not the authentic Turkish/Mediterranean kind of place, however the food served (vegetable moussaka) was flavourful.

The best coffee in town. A great place to visit for lunch or dinner. Staff are always friendly and helpful. 100% recommend.

It was a nice place and delicious food

Unfortunately my husband and I suffered food poisoning after eating in the restaurant 2 weeks ago. We know for a fact it was from the mixed meze starter as this was the only dish we shared. We were both violently ill from the early hours of Saturday through to late Sunday. I informed the restaurant who were not willing to take responsibility without proof following medical intervention. It was a disappointing response and we won't be returning to the restaurant. (We have twin toddlers in nursery who were not affected so we know for a fact it wasn't a sickness bug).

Came for dinner at Maze and it did not disappoint! From the moment we stepped in the door we we’re greeted from the lovely waitress Alison, who served us throughout the evening and was fab. We had a mix of hot and cold starters, then the Chicken Beyti and Mixed Grill for main. Everything was so tasty and great value for money. Can’t wait to come back!

Dropped in for an unplanned meal with a friend - had the mixed grill because I'm too lazy to choose 🤣 absolutely fabulous, perfectly cooked and totally delicious!

Found by accident, we were looking for a vegetarian restaurant but noticed quite a few options on their menu outside on the board. The food and Turkish wine were excellent as was the service. Will certainly call in if we visit the area again.

Hello. I visited the restaurant on Friday. It was my first time. Even though i dont live in Safron Walden, i would like to visit the this place again. Very lovely and caring staff. And the food was super delicious, each bite. Love, Kasia.

Popped in here for a bite to eat for dinner with a friend. It was really really good. We both loved it. Staff friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was lovely and it was only a wednesday. Great place to eat.

If you like undercooked chicken this is the place to go too! After previously bigging up this restaurant we used them again unfortunately the chicken was badly undercooked. Despite my daughter calling and leaving a message they haven't bothered to contact her. After emailing meze with my daughters details they called her however despite the undercooked chicken making both my daughter and I unwell they didn't feel able to address the issue. If you like undercooked chicken this is the place to go too.

Ordered a take away. When I got this home the chicken was raw inside. The whole meal was ruined by the risk of food poisoning. My family tried to eat some of what looked ok but 2 of the diners ended up unwell. Called the restaurant for a resolution their response was to refund £7 out of a £110 take away. Expensive and disappointing. 99% in the bin. Needless to say will NOT be back. Nor would I recommend. Shame as was a loyal customer.

We were greeted by very friendly staff . The food was very good but slightly over priced in our opinion for what you got . Overall an enjoyable experience tho .

A Turkish restaurant. We arrived on a really wet lunch time, on spec, not booking ahead. There were a few people drinking coffee. The full menu is not available for lunch, but we were happy with what was on offer. We started off with cocktails while we made up our minds on what to order. I did have to explain to the waitress how to make a Negroni. I had noticed they had all the required ingredients behind the bar. Lunch was lovely selection of Mezes. We were not rushed, there were not many people there, it was an awful day and Saffron Walden was deserted.

Taste-wise it is very good but their treatment of food allergens could have been better. After confirming that the meal I ordered is gluten free they brought kofte on top of thin flatbread. How can one not understand that asking for gluten free means I actually need to get gluten free? Also looks like many meals contain olive oil.

Just had a chicken cesear wrap, chicken freshly cooked and it was delicious. Always our pick in Saffron Walden for a bite to eat and always fantastic service.

Great food and as a take away it works well with the family, we all enjoy the meze and the lamb kebabs.

Easily the best tasting takeaway in town. I haven't dined in so can't comment on that but every time I've had takeaway or delivery it has been perfect. I'm a vegetarian and the vegetarian platter is amazing, the bread is so good too. I would definitely recommend it. Everything just tastes fresh and delicious.

Great atmosphere, and amazing Turkish food. Delicious and authentic. Would recommend the Falafel - best I've had. Certainly one of the best dining experiences to be had in the local area. Brilliant value for the quality and quantity of food you get!

Have been a few times. The hot falafel starter is amazing but I am always disappointed by the vegetarian options. I once just got a plate if rice with a bit if pepper and the cold mezze was just dips on cucumber. I love Turkish food and would like to go back but hope they improve their veggie choices

Decent restaurant but nothing special and too expensive. Firstly the interior is really nice and the staff are friendly. Service was also excellent and both starters and main were brought out quickly. The starters were delicious, we had the meze and the falafels and both were incredible and would definitely get them again. The mains, however, were disappointing. The flavour was decent however portions weren't particularly big and they certainly were not worth the £15 or so that they cost. Would probably return but definitely wouldn't be my first choice.

Fantastic place to eat. Table for 6, small Christmas gathering. Had several dishes to share for starter. Many beautiful flavours to get the appetite going. Then had the mix grill for main... Best asana kebab I have had in my life

My husband john and i have been there a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it everytime. Absolutley beautiful turkish food..really freindly attentive staff and owners without being overpowering. Clean and very reasonably priced. A good night out. Would definatley recommend eating there.

Turkish restaurant run by two Turkish brothers. One the chef and other front of house. Fantastic authentic food, friendly service and great value for money.

Ordered the vegetarian meze and partner ordered a chicken dish. Instead of the various dips as described on the menu I was given a lamb dish with rice. I am not a vegetarian and didn't want to cause a scene or spoil the meal for us both so ate up and said nothing. And yes, I have complained elsewhere on a rare occasion and it has been handled badly by the restaurant so much so that nowadays we just adjourn to another establishment. Food was ok, wine choice limited (no Chardonnay).

I came here for lunch on a Saturday, not dinner. I was expecting Turkish cuisine but discovered there is a different daytime menu, more standard cafe fare. I ordered the spicy kebab wrap and the banana milkshake. The service was friendly and fast. The wrap was not spicy at all, and a bit dry, but otherwise fine. The milkshake did not have real banana, just flavouring. And although it had icecream, no spoon was provided, so I ended up using my fork to finish drinking it. The restaurant had a warm cosy feel to it, and I expect the dinner experience would be better.

Food was served fast and tasted ok. I'm used to a £6.50 English breakfast having at least 50% more food. Very cramped conditions. In a nutshell, nothing special during the day, but the evening menu may be another story.
