The staff were really nice, but good lord the foods bad. The sign outside says best Sunday roast in town, but it was probably the worst I've had in my life. The roast potatoes were barely cooked inside and weren't crispy at all. The gravy was applied with what I assume was a small paint brush. Fairly sure it all came out of a microwave.

The staff are excellent here and make you feel very welcome. Simon and Selena are excellent helpul and chatty to all. They make you feel like family. Just gutted that it's closing to none hotel guests. Thank you to you both for making us feel welcome.

Food was what you pay for, took some time to come out but was busy. Toilets were flooded. Staff were really nice and helpful and you could tell they were trying their best

We went in for dinner while staying at the premier inn next door and waited over 30 minutes at which point my partners order was completely wrong. She then had to wait another 30 minutes for her food, no reimbursement or service offered. The next day we went in for breakfast which was prepaid. If you do this make sure you also book a table because no where is this said or recommended so despite already paying for breakfast we had to wait 20 minutes for a table (half the tables were empty anyway). This is a table service breakfast so after finally getting your table you have to wait 15 minutes for the waiter to come over to you then another 30 minutes for them to cook your food which was mediocre. Staff were not at fault there seems to be very some very bad system in place which needs revising. I have worked in pubs and restaurants and could see several flaws. Needs improvement.

Myself and my partner stayed at the Premier Inn next door last Wednesday - Friday for a wedding in the city, and popped over to the BF for dinner shortly after arriving on the Wednesday. The restaurant was incredibly quiet (we did get there just before 9 so probably missed the 'rush') but the chap on the bar was so friendly and accommodating - the kind of guy you need to cheer up a quiet pub. The waiting staff were polite and friendly too. Food was great, especially as we snuck our order in just before closing time! We had breakfast two mornings and I must pay a huge compliment to Selena - both mornings she was really welcoming and friendly, stopped to have a chat with us and nothing was too much of a problem, especially with other diners around who clearly weren't 'morning people'. Food was plentiful and the bacon was cooked spot on (I asked for cremated bacon and the kitchen delivered!), and for what you pay for the breakfast it's not a bad deal at all. Would happily come back if we're visiting that way on again. Only reason it's got a 4* is the decor and carpets could do with an overhaul (sticky carpets belong in 90's nightclubs!) - nothing against the staff or food at all.

The parent company need to spend a bit of money on this place. It was probably lovely when it was last renovated but now seems very tired inside. The windows look completely rotten on the outside and will need replacing. They have two hand pumps for cask ale but only occasionally served Doom Bar (super bland). It was unavailable on our visit. Service was slightly substandard with a rather dour and disinterested barmaid. Premier Inn breakfast had multiple continental breakfast items unavailable.

For £31 I'd expect my meal of fish and chips to be hot, not have to wait nearly 40 minutes for what is really just a boil in a bag catering service. Bar staff and server were polite.

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch. Just found out that this restaurant in its current formula will be closing in July along with many other Brewers Fayre. Shame 😪

Ordered 2 mix grills one upgraded did not come with the onion rings told have to wait till manager returns as we almost finished meal just came and gave refund of extra onion rings manager did not even come and apologise could have offered free drink poor service

As always my family and I return again and again to the Mersey farm. The staff make us feel so welcome and we have got to know them so well over the years they feel like part of our family. There is one lady in particular whom I must praise highly called Selena. Nothing is too much trouble for her, she is so professional. We recently lost a member of our family who also loved dining at Mersey farm. Your staff were genuinely upset about our loss and always find time to talk to us about it, especially Selena. Lovely and friendly atmosphere. I had the mixed grill which is a belly buster of a meal and the unlimited breakfast is a winner. Highly recommended and a big thank you to the beautiful Claire and the lovely Sophie for being so being so helpful and friendly

Wednesday evening dead, no staff, single server was uninterested and dismissive but food was of good quality and prepared well. Thursday morning breakfast was better with good staff levels and good service. Wide range of breakfast items.

Not the best of places to go to. Food wasn't great. Looked lifeless. The coleslaw just contained the carrot and cabbage, no mayonnaise. I asked for some real coleslaw though and they were happy to get some prepared for us. One thing that wasn't great - our grandchild is autistic and is fussy with the colour of his food. They could have been a bit more understanding and helpful when we asked for a little bit of flexibility with the food order. It wasn't a major ask, just a little bit extra plain white pasta because he won't eat the other colours. Alongside this, it took a fair while for the food to come out and then even longer for the dessert. The staff are quite polite and helpful otherwise.

Waited 40 minutes to be served 5oz overcooked gammon, undercooked egg. Should have been 7oz. Poor do! Was offered a replacement piece of gammon but was past hungry. Disappointing 🙁 Pie and mash meal ordered by my partner was hard pastry, overcooked and stingy portion of lumpy mash 🙁 Used to go regularly but it's gone down hill.

Booked a table for Saturday evening as we were staying next door at the Premier Inn. Ordered food and the wrong starter was brought to the table, we then had to wait for my starter to be redone. Mains arrived, warm but certainly not piping hot as if freshly prepared, no side order arrived. No visit to check if everything was okay with the meal. Had to ask for this to be removed from the bill at the end. It was suggested that had I said something they could have brought it, I suggested that had someone bothered checking on us I would have said something, don't expect me to chase you around the restaurant. Booked a breakfast for Sunday morning, oh dear. Ordered a breakfast but they do not keep an eye on what you are eating before serving, so halfway through cereal breakfast arrived, wasn't very warm when we got around to eating it. Chef cannot cook a fried egg - solid lump. Toast has to be put through the machine at least twice to get any colour on it. Juice is quite frankly shameful, not much more than water and no fresh tea or coffee, just flasks of hot water for the tea and an urn of coffee. Has a monopoly on guests from the Premier Inn next door which is fortunate because this must be how it keeps going and gets away with this rubbish.

This place used to be amazing. It's looking so tired and dated now. Even though the staff can not do enough for you and are lovely, the whole place just needs a face lift and a glow up. Went for breakfast and were served quickly. Food was lovely, best poached eggs I've had in a long time!!! Everything else was just OK. The tea and coffee area was so messy and needed a good clean but the options were vast and you are never short of something to choose from

They were a bit short staffed on this visit but the young people coped very well, polite, speedy and explained the unusual situation. Food was well cooked and good sized portions.

Attended this Brewers Fayre restaurant on Good Friday. Table was booked for 6pm for 7people all adults but was placed in the loudest part of the restaurant next to the kids play area. We asked to be relocated so was given a quieter part. Went up to order and no fish and chips on a Friday and Good Friday at that…… Ordered a Katsu Curry 4 mixed Grills and 2 scampi to make it quite simple. The curry came about 20 minutes before the rest the excuse was it was ordered separately. We asked the steak on the mixed grill to be medium. Was more well done than medium and the eggs looked like they had been baked in the oven and kept warm for an hour. Overall poor service considering last time we attended this restaurant was really nice

We had the lovely Leon look after us today. What a lovely person he is. So smily, kind and couldn’t do enough for us. The meal was excellent. We will definitely visit again and recommend to others. Thank you.

We had a delicious meal but what really made are experience lovely was a lovely gentleman called Leon who couldn’t do enough for us and his cheery disposition really made are day we will definitely be coming back

Met a friend for breakfast which is a table service 'all you can eat' for £10 (full english) or £8 (continental). The full buffet includes the continental if you still fancy a croissant after downing as many sausages, eggs and rashers of bacon as you can! Options include mushrooms, beans, black pudding, hash browns, tomatoes etc., with tea or coffee. A toast station with various preserves is also offered, so great value. I fully intend to return!!

Waited ages for food once order had been taken, when it came out jacket potatoes was luke warm and chips were cold. Manager asked us what we wanted him to do about it. Very disappointed with dining experience wouldn't go there again.

Food just warm apart from microwaved chicken which was hot. The other meal steak and ale pie chips and peas just warm was charged for extra gravy which we never asked for. The desserts were very nice. First time at this restaurant won't be going back. The girl who took our order was unfriendly more concerned about her fake eyelashes. The lads there were nice.

Service took 90 minutes from ordering. The place smelled like an old used nappy near the children's area. The floor was covered with food that the waiters could see but simply stepped over and around. Only one waiter had manners and could actually serve with a smile his name was Archer. Thanks for trying to make a nice evening Archer but your colleagues let you down and we won't be back.

Food took 45 minutes. Food wasn't nice. Gammon was snotty and eggs were still clucking!!! Wasn't impressed and won't be going back. Out of four meals only one was edible 👎👎👎 very disappointed!!

Good food at reasonable prices, come during the week (12-6pm) for the 2 mains special offer. Amazing value for money.

Stayed at the attached travelodge and had "breakfast" here, everything lukewarm, dry and unappetising.

I visited this pub while staying at the Premier Inn next door. The staff were very friendly on arrival and directed me to sit anywhere I wanted and told me how to order. I ordered cheesy garlic bread for starter and fish and chips for my main. Both were very tasty and well cooked. Staff were fsbrastic throughout and happily recommend this pub

Two of us went for lunch on a Saturday the staff were excellent very noisy with all the children but it is what we expected we both had a mixed grill and I would give it 5 out of 10 the chicken and ham were fine as were the fries but the steak was awful which we both left and the peas were tasteless but I suppose it's not fine dining so overall not bad.

How disappointing. We have been here on a regular basis for the last couple of years but I think today might be the last. The place wasn't busy at all when we arrived (about 4.30pm) and we quickly got a table and ordered our main meals. After waiting for about 25 minutes they arrived, the cheese pie was very hot (and super tasty) but the mash was luke warm. However we finished and ordered desserts at the bar. 30 minutes later the mains plates were still on the table and no sign of desserts. There only seemed to be two members of staff, one on the bar and one waiting on. The girl behind the bar, when I questioned where the deserts were said "he's just doing them now". A further 20 minutes, still no signs of the deserts and now being pushed for time I had to get a refund and abandon the desert order. A pity as we liked the place, parking is good and it is wheelchair accessible.

Went for a meal for my daughter’s birthday, A party of 7.my son in law ordered chips steak and beans, I ordered nachos with chilli. My son in law had eaten his steak and chips whilst waiting for beans which eventually came cold and by a rather rude waiter. My nachos were soaked with the chilli which was slopped over the top. The waiter asked was our food ok. When I told him “actually no, we got cold beans after waiting” he stated “ we’ll all I can give you is more beans “ we had finished our main.. We ordered desert , strawberry sundae “ should there be strawberries on the top of this ?” “ yeah but we haven’t got any strawberries “ Absolute joke !!!! No apology or explanation. So NO we won’t be returning. Also the staff need a lesson in customer care This meal wasn’t cheap along with drinks so no not happy

Came in for an all you can eat breakfast with some former colleagues. Good service and the food was served in good time all very tasty and the staff were friendly and attentive i would definately recommend it.

Wow really struggling to describe how bad the food was the so called chef managed to burn everything but still arrived cold at the table steak black on one side peas like bullets fried egg a disgrace pineapple burnt gammon black and over cooked my wife took hers back and got a refund didn't even apologise can only presume its a regular thing I would have got a refund for mine but didn't want to disappoint the dogs Forgot to mention the one and a half wait for the food

Dont like it, last time I was there you couldn't eat in peace because kids were out of control running around. Not been for 4 years or more, have no intentions of going back there either unless they've stopped serving plastic food from a microwave and kids are under control. Visited on the 6th Jan 2024, very nice & relaxing this time. Much better than my previous visit. Staff were very nice.

Very poor service waited 1 hour for main meal and the dessert and kept getting answers like "it's on its way" or "it's being plated up now" and then having to wait another 20 minutes. Their was a group near us who were realy loud and were running around the area. I'm not blaming the staff entirely for this one but they should have done something.

We booked in for Christmas dinner this year with family. We had to order over 2 months in advance and pay, in full, by the 1st December including our pre-order for a party of 9. No issue with this specifically, but the food was cold and hard. I think this was as we were the last sitting of the day but when you are paying over £50 per person it should be fresh at the very least. The majority of us left most. Then, the icing on the cake. My two sons had been looking forward to their dessert choice all day, and they sold out so had to have an alternative. This is just not good enough considering we pre-ordered and paid months in advance. Very disappointed.

Christmas dinner disgusting what a rip off

Arrived and we were greeted warmly, we were told to choose our own seats which suited us, it was a Wednesday afternoon so quite quiet. We ordered our starters, food and our drinks to which we had been overcharged; charged us twice for the same starter. This was quickly rectified with an apology. Anyway, starter's arrived quickly and were nice. The main meals were very disappointing though. My wife's festive Turkey dinner was all frozen, the vegetables cooked in the microwave and then left on the side as the gravy had time to form a skin on it. It was all competely tasteless so the only winners were our 2 dogs who got the turkey and the pig in blanket. My main meal was underwhelming; rubbery fried egg and although it was sold as 'smothered' the meal had been scarcely covered in cheese. All in all a very unsatisfactory experience. The staff did seem understaffed, maybe this was the issue...

We had a lovely meal. My grandaughter loved playing while we got half an hour of peace. The staff were very polite and responsive to our needs. My garndaughter ate all her food. Would recommend the atmosphere was relaxing,warm and comfortable.

I've been to this same place on other occasions, didn't seem too busy this particular day but still took an age for food to come out, the steak on my mixed grill was full of gristle

We stayed at the Premier Inn next door so had meals here, I think they were short of staff as lunch took a while to come, was only warm and one meal out of 5 didn't come, waited another 15 minutes. Evening meal booked for 10, again not hot and one of the deserts didn't come, waited 15 minutes. Breakfast next morning was OK. Did find a 40% off main meals voucher for the evening meal.

Our group was booked about 3 weeks ago for 4pm today. They were terribly short staffed. The last desserts were served at 7.15pm, after a lot of requests to speed things up. Some of the young people got their starters after they were served their main meal. The food we were served was OK, but half the food requested was not available. So yes, quite a few orders needed changing last minute. Generally, the food that was available wasn't bad, but slow and confused serving, short staffed, and the long wait was tough in the small children with us. It was busy, but not overly so.

Dreadful. Waited over an hour for food. Other people came in after us had there food and left, we were still waiting. Had to leave. Never returning. AVOID

Our family ate here last night, the kids food was really slow to come out and it seemed they had forgotten us, the deserts came out wrong for 2 of them and took half an hour, the correct dishes took another 20-30 minutes at which point we gave up and took them off our bill and left. Staff are friendly but it is clear no one is in charge and no one has been trained. No wonder it was empty on a Saturday.

Had the smothered grill…. Chicken, gammon, steak etc… all perfectly cooked. Very disappointed with choice of draft beer though…. No IPA, no Doombar. Just Worthingtons bitter or numerous lagers.

I've not been here in a while, 3 years Food was scrumptious. Hot and delivered promptly with polite service. Found the decor, fresh, spacious, and comfortable. It has been redesigned to cater for all, cozy, and intimate areas and spacious areas to partake in merriment.

Stayed at the adjacent hotel and tried to eat here on 2 nights. Understaffed and the ones that were working were incompetent, rude and uninterested. Many items unavailable from the menu and the food we ordered arrived either cold, overcooked or missing items etc. No coffee available except instant sachets which the restaurant staff took from the hotel. We observed the "manageress" opening these with HER TEETH before serving them to us. When we questioned her about food hygiene the staff became very rude and aggressive. Same situation for breakfast with no cutlery, milk or coffee. Tables uncleared and uncleaned. We have stopped here several times before but not in the future. Manchester has many options for decent food so we wouldn't recommend wasting your time or money here!

Restaurant was very quiet hardly anyone eating in there, which is unusual for these type of family restaurants. I explained I was a vegetarian when asked regarding allergies and promptly ordered the potato skins with no bacon and a veggie burger for mains. The starter came quite quickly but had bacon on and was sent back, then took what seemed like an eternity to reappear. I then had a stack burger put on the table before finishing my starter. This also was beef based and not what I ordered, so that went back. When I finally got my mains there was about 12 chips and my burger, no garnish or coleslaw. When asked why I was told the restaurant was out of coleslaw. Not a particularly positive experience.

Stopped over before a wedding in Salford. Food was usual standard at night, breakfast was good. Bar staff didn't have a clue on how the meal deal works or what ales they stocked.

Went at 16.30pm, pretty quiet in the pub area, play area pretty busy, 40 minute wait for food, only seen two staff front of house, After Son had finished his meal, asked for his dessert, after waiting another half an hour walked out with out getting desserts, lots of customers going up to staff asking for their desserts.

Although this place is large, it was very quiet during the school holidays. There is a ball pit play area seating next to it. So you can watch while eating if you have children. The food was not great, but I did the job. Standard taste and presentation. If you have a bonus card, you can get 30% off the bill. Staff is not very friendly, no smiles welcoming, or checking on customers to see if everything was OK. Must have been short staffed. The table across from me was left with mountains of dirty dishes and flies gathering because it was left the whole entire time we were having our dinner. It was not busy either. Children in the play area are not watched properly by some parents had to go have a word with one parent because child was being rough and bullying other children.
