I have just had the single worst takeaway ever! I’m that appalled from my experience, I have rang this fake Chinese takeaway, myself as I couldn’t believe what they served me - chicken none chow main, jelly spare ribs and and the single worst orange curry sauce, which I think they drained it from outside, I would strongly recommend that you never order anything from this place, what was I thinking!!

Abysmal. Food was inedible to the point where it didn’t even taste like the meat it was supposed to be, never mind the radioactive looking curry sauce. Considering I had to go out of my way to obtain cash for such a disgrace, is in its self… shocking. I’m sure rotten food would be more palatable than what we received.

After using this takeaway for the past five years, the prawn crackers were really stale. When we called to advise this, we were told that they were cooked two days ago and they should be fine. Anybody knows that prawn crackers are cooked immediately before serving. Makes you wonder if the prawn crackers are cooked two days prior - what else is! NEVER AGAIN. Makes your stomach churn.

I want to Manchester for the first time and this was my first lunch in the city. As an American who lives in a city with very good Chinese food I had high expectations. Happy House exceeded them. Absolutely fantastic food, I particularly enjoyed the short ribs. They were tender and delicious. The absolute best spot around John Leigh park!

Worst meal. The shredded beef was like trying to eat a strip of hard rubber.

Great food, lovely family and just down the road! Food was ready quickly and was still hot after a short walk. Hats off to you all :-) Still the same all these years later 😍

I just ordered salt and pepper King prawns from Happy House it was really delicious, my favourite take away so far. Great price too 👍

Amazing service, front of house was friendly and engaging. I’ve been here quite a few times with my friends where I’ve tried a good amount of their dishes, tasty food cooked with skill and expertise. Highly recommend especially for the price.

Just had the most delicious meal. Crispy lamb with pancakes and the extras. Salt and pepper king Prawns. Special mixed ginger garlic and spring onions. Spot on. 10/10. Thank you.

Ordered here because normal Chinese was closed. If I could give lower than 1 star I would. Went in thinking they know how to cook Chinese because they were Asian but the food was horrid, salt and pepper chips were hard just tasting like spicy chips. A British fish and chips can make better Chinese than these guys

Special chow mein. Curry samosas. Chips. samosas no curry in them no taste. hot but went hard crunchy 😔 chow mein nice but bits of meat in it .not enjoyable.

Tried fried rice and fried noodles, they tasted good. The food is cooked as soon as you order it, it's hot enough, and the waiting time isn't long.

I'm sorry but as a chef of 30yrs (and had accolades with it) I can safely say I have never know such a bad Chinese. 2 weeks ago I ordered some S&P ribs and hot and soup - the ribs just tasted "off" full stop and the soup was not even close to average. I've given them a chance tonight with just a staple (chicken & sweetcorn soup !). I couldn't eat a second mouthful as I spat the first one straight back out. Watered down, sugar added and the worst 'soup' I've ever had... vile even. Avoid like the plague.

The chips are not the best, but every dish we have ordered has been fabulous, fresh and hot. Delivery quick and efficient. We are now trying dishes we have never ordered before from other take aways as the food is so good 👍.

Last night was 1st time we have ordered from here, it was perfect, phone call was answered quickly, ordered for a certain time it was delivered spot on time, food was best we have had in ages, will definately order again we would highly recommend

Bland food and boiled chicken. Didn't look like it had been near a wok. Ordered 2 dishes and couldn't tell the difference between them.

Best Chinese food available, if you want Chinese food go here, you can get better than this.

REGULAR CUSTOMERS NOT RESPECTED: We have been using Happy House for the past 8yrs and always had good meals, even given 5* reviews until now. We worked out that we spend on average over £100 a month going here. Over the past month, the service has gone down hill. We have placed orders for deliveries and on a number of occasions , items were missing which meant the driver coming back to bring them putting a delay on us eating and other things going cold. Yeah it happens. However, today was the icing on the cake. We ordered our usual order and also bought the spare ribs. When they came, they were literally just bone (no meat at all). The lot went in the bin. As a regular customer, I decided to go back to let them now we were disappointed and was at least expecting a refund or replacement.... NOPE. The owners apologised and literally admitted that the suppliers had supplied ribs that was all bone with no meat!!!! Why the hell are they still selling them then??? They apologised and that was it. I asked why they are still serving them and yet again I just got an apology. We have never complained and been there for years. They even know us so well we have great conversations. A refund was refused and was told that on our next visit they will ensure there is more meat on the ribs!?!?!?!? This may sound minor but I was disgusted at the lack of loyalty to year long customers. They couldn't even give us the £4 something back! I wouldn't mind but on numerous occasions, and I mean NUMEROUS, the delivery driver has rounded up the total cost to the nearest pound and given us the change accordingly, therefore pocketing a tip without it being offered to him! Not once have we said anything as it was no more than 70p each time! It's the whole principal of it! They couldn't even have the manners to exchange or refund. You are clearly not a valued customer and they don't care one bit. I'm gutted to say that myself and partner feel that strongly that we will NEVER go back here again due to this. The quality has been going down hill the past month or so and this topped with the awful ribs has confirmed it. Happy House, it has been a pleasure but you have lost good customers but we wish you the best. Please start respecting your future customers and listening and reacting to what they tell you.

Love this Chinese! We use this most weekends and the salt and pepper chicken is my absolute favourite. The staff are lovely and the food is never late when we order for delivery. Portions are a good size too and the prices are really reasonable. Would highly recommend!

I ordered from here with my fiancé. I ordered Sausage, chips and gravy. It was OK, a bit salty though. My fiancé ordered Singapore Fried Rice, which was slodgy, the Curry sauce was lumpy, fish, which had too much batter on it and was under cooked, Vegetarian Sour Soup, which was awful. Awful food. We won't be ordering from there again.

I've been here once or twice when my usual chippy is shut, the last time I got the chips home to realise they were oven chips! I have them in the freezer, thanks. Not what I was looking for.

The food was un cocked greasy and had a spider and a few hairs Init.Also it took 2 hours and 30 mins to come and I would recommend going to a different Chinese takeaway as I was really disappointed in the food.

Greasy, cold food. Much better Chinese takeaways locally.
