The Mardi Gras in Trafford

Came here on Saturday 15th march and had the worst experience of a lifetime. Staff member ruined my experience with my little sisters. Mixed race lad with curly hair was sexist, rude and racist to us all. Would not recommend ever coming here as you might as well work the kitchen yourself

Went here to celebrate my birthday with my family today. I Ordered Jacket potato cheese and beans, the jacket started of ok and warm on the outside but the more I ate the colder it got. It was cold in the middle like it had just come out of the fridge. I spoke to someone regarding this and asked her to feel the potato and she agreed it was way too cold. She took it back and another one was brought out 15 mins later, the rest of my family had finished their meal before I got mine. The 2nd one came out and it was hot, however, there was barely any cheese (first one had plenty on), like a couple of strands but enough beans. My daughter had a BBQ beef burger and we were shocked at how small it was for the price. Although this was cooked the price was too much for how small it was. I will not be returning to this Wetherspoons, undercooked food can be dangerous especially to people who have a lower immune system. Food should be delivered at around 75 degrees and minimum 63 degrees and should definitely not reach the customer cold.

They had an offer on £2 off burgers chose the American....wtf...there was nothing American about it.....been sat there all day and came out in under 5 mins, 1 pickle and a couple of bits of chopped onions....ate them as son is autistic and was starving...never again. To be fair the staff were great 👍

Very busy during half term. Tables were crammed so close together people with prams were blocking all walkways. Not their fault, nowhere to put them, you just couldn't get around the pub so god help anyone in an emergency evacuation. Part of my order was a garlic bread. DONT BUY IT!! It's a large pizza style bread that has the taste of a postage stamp. Halloumi "style" fries (so I guess not real halloumi) were like wet rubber. Soggy, shrivelled and mostly cold. The chicken nuggets (small plate menu) were surprisingly good. And warm. First and last time visiting

Very overpriced compared with other Wetherspoons.

Most of that staff are great here, know how to pour a pint or sprit, but the lady with the cat flicks make has no clue. No customer service, to warm welcome, short pours which is highly illegal!

Refused to give us a refund. Taking advantage of vulnerable people

The food was twice the price of other spoons. It was over priced over cooked and served cold. Nearly lost my liking of Spoons but tried their one in Bristol which excellent and half the price .

Food was shockingly bad, table were dirty, staff looked like they couldn't be bothered. Wish I didn't have to put a star it was that bad will not be returning.

Food was your standard wetherspoon stuff. They don't do steaks though. Service was really good. Staff were attentive. Food all came out quick and hot.

English breakfast, standard size, not too long to wait for its arrival. Plate at a good temperature to touch yet all items at different temperatures, from stone cold fried egg, to not much warmer bacon. Luke warm sausage and at an acceptable temperature hash browns. I didn't complain as I had been warned days earlier when inviting a friend to go there for breakfast. They said, "never". I now understand why. Coffee was ok though.

Worst food I've ever tasted in a wetherspoons,burger burnt and dried up,luke warm nearly broke a tooth it was that burnt,miserable staff!!!

A very decent spoons. Must be the cheapest place in Trafford centre to get a beer and food. Would recommend

One of the worst burgers I’ve ever had. Was about 2” and not even a decent salad. We had two burgers, paid £25 and were shockingly bad quality. No taste, pretty empty inside. Not sure if it is cheap industrial food or they don’t bother about quality anymore but this was bad. Do yourself a favour and avoid buying a burger in this place. Baby burgers for £25. (see image)

Food took ages to come then my chicken was only just warm in the middle the rice was barely warm as well, sent back waited 20 mins and …..no food they had “forgot” asked for my money back and told as ordered on app it would take 3-5 working days…!! Definitely will not be going again

Very good experience, had a lovely pint, was particularly by Jack and his excellent customer service, felt very welcome thanks so much !

This is a nice addition to the center the food was very nice and did not take long to arrive. The order did come out with the Apple slices missing from our kids meal when i asked the waiter for them he said he would get them for us but never came back so we left with out them. The place was busy we only just got a table but this is nothing new when it comes to a spoons. I would go back again.

Wetherspoon in the Trafford center seems to think I have a fake ID. I went to the bar to order a pint only to find they didn’t have half the beers available. So after 10 minutes of trying to find a drink they do have, I was then asked for my ID. I gave the bloke behind the bar my ID & before he’d even looked at it, he decided it was fake. I asked him to check with a manager as my ID is not fake, for him to return with an attitude & told me to leave. I understand he has a job to do however, the attitude that come with it was awful & the ID was hardly checked. Disappointed. Still the staffs attitude don’t stink half as much as the gaff it’s self, needs a good scrubbing.

Very dusty and dirty surroundings although drinks glasses were nice and clean

A group of us came in here to have a drink and a mate in our group came in with a drink from the milkshake bar next door. Manager came over like a hawk and said he had to leave with the milkshake, despite the rest of us buying drinks from there and our other friend also intending on doing so. She was very rude and unreasonable, would NOT recommend this Spoons to anyone

came to the venue and as it was past 9:30pm said children were not permitted which is fine so the underage person and an another adult left the premises and they responded in saying nobody of our party could be served because we had been with an underage person even though they had left the premises. Then the staff became aggresive towards us refusing adults service and even staring at my partner in an intimidating way absolutley shocking customer service and a disgrace to wetherspoons

Really bad service as we’ve entered at 9 pm they already told us that half the menu is off the list and made us aware that no children are allowed in the premises after 930 which we understand there was no welcome and made us feel very uncomfortable as they were all stood around the bar I need to felt like they were intimidating people that is my first experience being there which I have been there several times and have no complaints whatsoever. Would love to make a complaint to the manager but my kids and my wife would feel very uncomfortable, so we left.

Came in with my partner for a birthday lunch went up to the bar to order food and drinks the guy who served was nice and friendly I had Stella whitch I had to take back there was no life in it then one member of staff stormed on the bar and was quite rude to another member of staff saying its fine then food came out and my burger was dull no salad apart from 3 small slices of onion so sent it back the same meal was brought out just with more onion and was cold my partner had fish which was very over cooked so went to get refund and was told I could only have the burger refunded as that's the only meal that got sent back all I can say about this place is rubbish food and rude staff will not be going back

Sadly my experience here was not the best. Local WiFi was dodgy so the app didn’t work. Food arrived quickly but was ok. That sums up the overall experience, just OK. When there are so many other options nearby, just OK isn’t good enough.

Prices have risen, menu condensed. Couldn't find a reason to stay. I think others had the same opinion. I've never seen it so empty on a Saturday afternoon!

What a great Spoons. Everything spot on & friendly atmosphere etc etc…

Meal was awful fish dry obvious it was well overcooked peas solid chips soggy and cold will never return to this place husband had suppose to be Lincolnshire sausage tasted awful more like cheap catering sausages chips soggy

It's a Wetherspoons, foods ok, The staff behind the bar were great, the floor/ serving staff spend more time talking about what they did over the weekend, and following each other around, then doing any work, tables left with plates and glasses on for a long time

Ordered 3 different meals, all arrived in very good time and within 3 minutes of each other. Lovely tasty curry, excellent pizza and some well filled wraps. Good amount of chips and rice. Soft naan bread. Compared to other outlets, great value.

The food could have been hotter I had katsu curry and it was only warm, needed to be hotter but the Drinks were ok.

Great hot food and good service, nice and relaxed, good selection of beer/ales.

Just came here with my younger brother and his friend. I’m 23 and covered in tattoos so obviously above 18. We arrived at 2pm and sat down for lunch to then be IDd and asked to leave when none of us had any to hand. Since when do you have to be 18+ to sit in a spoons for lunch?

Although a wetherspoons don't expect wetherspoons, prices are more expensive than most . Especially drinks.

Food is far too overpriced than regular spoons definitely don’t go here if you want to save money.

Used the app and got a prompt and efficient service. Food (breakfast) was good.

Decent beer and cheap bitter 2.50 a pint good choice of guest beers blueberry bitter is a particular favourite

Waited over an hour for two panini's And others around us getting food quicker, had to chase staff members twice.

Fish and chips was tasteless, Gourmet butter chicken burger faired better. Adnam's beer was good, however the Stowford Press cider was flat... didn't have the time to complain but £28 for 2 very mediocre meals and unacceptable drink was not great value.

Been here a few times now with the family and Husband. I never knew there was a Weatherspoons in Trafford centre so was very happy to know there was. Great service. Plenty of space to sit and the food is quick an easy to fill a hole.

Poor quality service and management. Draft drinks were unavailable due to maintenance. Waiter literally dropped plate of lukewarm food on table and told me if I wanted any sauces to go and get them myself. Food quality very poor.

Staff were quite rude, even for a weathespoons also the food was just horrible, I had the ultimate burger and was just really chewy meat unfortunately

I love weatherspoons and always go to my local pub so I thought I'd try this one while me and my friend were shopping. The menu was half the size of the one I usually go to and the food X10 worse to be honest. I have a gluten allergy and the food on the allergen chart didn't match the food on the manu making it much harder to find something suitable for me. I am aware due to laws that food places cannot tell you ingredients and advise you, however the staff were extremely rude and dismissive making me feel bad for something I cannot control. I hope they become more organised with menus and up their game on service because my experience made me not want to come back here ever again.

I spent £15 on a Wetherspoon chicken jalfriezie. Which was exactly the same in quality as a £2.00 Aldi or Lidl curry. In fact it was the same rubbery processed chicken that is found in an Aldi curry. Not much rice, a couple of cheap poppadoms a dried up nann with a small glass of tap cola. Basic Wetherspoons rubbish. How does Wetherspoons keep getting away with this sorry offering of rubbish food?

Provided a well earned rest from retail shopping. Nice place, good food and good service.

I was going to have lunch here but instead just having a pint this must be one of the most expensive spoons for food I've ever been in and I'm from London all day brunch with drink £15.22 in my local spoons it's about £6.40 for exactly the same meal

Our "go to" for a full English breakfast in the Trafford centre before a walk around the shops. Can't beat it

This applies as much to any Wetherspoon pub as it does to the Mardis Gras specifically. Food varies from half decent (namely the pizzas), to average (burgers and full English breakfast, breakfast wrap etc) to sub average/barely edible (the bacon butty, any steak). The bacon can occasionally be excellent from Wetherspoons, in that it's not fatty, and has the grill marks on, taste, texture and even smell very nice. Unfortunately, more often than not these days, it's become barley edible. Often overburdened with amply amounts of rubbery fat, and sometimes it looks really pale, and no grill marks, like it's been microwave cooked. Pretty nasty. And their bread bloomer is invariably dry, despite being buttered, like it's a few days past it's best, verging on stale but a smidgen within the rules of FSA. And the coffee.... something you'd think even Spoons couldn't get wrong. There's a good reason why it's refillable, and that's because the machine serves up the bitterest, foul smelling and tasting coffee available. You'd be a warrior for getting through one whole mug, let alone more than that. Oh and one working hot drinks machine, causing a very king queue this morning. Great.

Hate the concept of chain pub/restaurants being more expensive because it's in a busy spot - drinks and snacks were fine just hate paying more than I would one mile away

I came here with my family and the food was less then satisfactory I would not waste my money here. my daughter had left her retainer on the table and when we phoned up to ask an hour it later they had “thrown it in the bin” because they “didn’t know what to do with it” though I do understand it’s me and my daughters responsibility to not forget the retainer, accidents do happen. What was unprofessional is that if someone has left a personal item on the table at your restaurant you should keep it to one side and not bin it!!! It is worth £100 as I have paid for and they have treated it like it was nothing.

I ordered the bbq chicken, bacon & cheese panini with rice for lunch. The rice was stone cold and very dry, the panini was slightly warmer but still very dry. It was like the chef couldn't be bothered, worst meal there ever. So disappointing & uninspiring.

£3.41 for a 0% alcohol beer. How can they justify that price.

Dont get chicken i ordered a lemon and herb chicken and it came raw i then reported this and they didnt give a apology and when the manager came she said it was natural for your chicken to be pink she then gave me a refund and it will be back for 3 days. Guys watch out coming bad service bad food bad place i have cancer and i am in an out of hospital for check ups if i had eaten this it could have made me ill for a long time dont come here

Don’t eat the lemon and herb chicken, it comes undercooked, very pink in the middle, if you complain to the staff about the under cooked food, they will tell you that chicken is always pink 🤷‍♂️, witch I was shocked at, Poor food poor service avoid at all cost

We were playing bowling and lost track of time other places were closing so we asked here and it was open later than the others so we ordered and the food was nice and quick and to be fair the food was nice enough we all enjoyed it and we're were very surprised.

Great atmosphere. Very good value for money. There are plenty of tables.

Probably the cleanest Wetherspoons I've been in but the food was appaling. My cooked breakfast was out before I'd sat down with my coffee. Overdone eggs, might as well have been hard boiled, cold toast, bacon was an odd green colour. Coffee was ok though.

One of the best spoons we've used, poached eggs were off the scale !

Extremely clean and great service in my recent visit. My only complaint is it’s very expensive for a Wetherspoons, pints costing just under £5 was quite a shock. Apart from the pricing however it was a great experience

Food was okay. Not to its best standard it could be. Restaurant was kept clean. Staff didn't seem to happy.

Of course being a wetherspoons it is bound to be busy. The drinks and food were fast.

I would certainly rate this spoons as one of my favourites in Manchester. Quick and pleasant service from Pav and Abi. In fact, all the staff that I spoke to were very friendly. I struggled to get internet on my laptop inside, and the shift manager told me about the Wi-Fi which is easily accessible when sitting outside the restaurant. I found that the Trafford Centre Wi-Fi was better than the Cloud. I enjoyed the coffee with free refills, and also a couple of very good real ales. I would definitely recommend.

Had a small breakfast and the whole thing was freezing - the table was filthy too.

Standard food and drink you know what to expect but when you ask if they have anything to take half your burger home in, and the girl goes "no we don't have stuff like that just a pizza box" I saod even a little but of cling film or tin foil will do. She says again "no we don't have that kinda stuff" I was then handed a 12inch pizza box. I then asked a different member of staff that gave me a clear wrap to put it in. This was much better service. Just a shame that I had that experience first time around.

Just been in today and the women was very rude not sure If she’s a manager but she definitely shouldn’t be spoke rude towards my kid not letting him in as he was sat in a a trolley when he’s 2 years old it was a blonde women late 50s just a very rude person

A very busy, smaller Wetherspoons located inside the Trafford Centre. We stumbled upon it after sampling some retail therapy great little place.

food was what you would expect from a spoons but service was lovely. girl who brought our drinks over was very polite and professional. i think her name was abby she was wonderful

Breakfast was awful, bacon and sausage had a funny taste, scruffy environment. Not been in a weatherspoons for a while noticed bud light is now £3.60!!!!! Probably a year ago it was £1.99. I'm done ✔️

Always know what you are getting at a weather spoons

Three of us had food here today couldn't believe how cold the food was. I had scampi the mushy peas were horrible and a solid blob and chips were cold food must have been under the salamander for ever really poor and not acceptable

Yeah, typical weather spoons, but as it set in the Trafford Center. The menu is quite small and limited its nice and clean quick food Nice place to catch up with friends

I have been here a few times and it has been great. It wasn’t quite as good today though but that was my own fault for coming on a Saturday. The Wetherspoons was really busy today which did give the pub a great atmosphere but it was a little difficult to find a table today and the one I found had not been cleaned. Not the staff’s fault really, it was very busy. Anyway I had the fish and chips with a pint of Corona lager. Really tasty and cooked well. The food arrived relatively quickly too. I would recommend this restaurant but if you want to be sure of a table without a wait it’s better to come during the week. That said, I have had the breakfast here in a Saturday morning in the past and had no problem finding a table and the breakfast was great value.

Had the special hagis dish. Ordered from table and was easy. Staff nice its a wethers! Cheap and cheerful

The app was down, but the staff were very helpful. It's not the cheapest Wetherspoons but it is in the Trafford centre so rents are high. A very small burger for over £6. The layout isn't great or comfortable for the elderly and it needs a makeover.

Quiet weekday visit, food is as good as wetherspoons food can be. Staff are great though and clearly hard working keeping on top of turning tables and keeping the place clean. Tommy's margarita is lovely! One of the few cocktails that isn't super sweet and the price is cheap and cheerful
