The food in the pub is amazing I allway have a good meal when I come here and it is so nice The service is grate the staff are so nice and friendly they will help u in anyway The atmosphere in the pub is really nice it so quiet you can have a friendly chat to people in the pub every one is so nice in the pub

The pub is a absolute amazing place to come and to have fun and drinks and food really good plus got loads of entertainment on the weekends with 2 D.Js on Fridays and Saturdays Sundays will love the football days in there

Food is awesome particularly the fish. Staff are friendly and landlord and landlady are happy to accommodate your desires (to a certain extent)!

Bad service horrible atmosphere higen is out ragous dirty knives and forks the workers who work there are to distracted on what is happening in their work place I would 100% not recommend here and the health and safety needs looking into

We ordered a starter and 2 main meals the bar maid brought the starter together with our mains when I when I asked what was going on she said the chef had finished so he done it all together when I said that was not acceptable she basically said tough I then asked to speak to the manager who was very nice and refunded the price of the starter but the whole experience was ruined the food wasn’t to bad it was just the ridiculous way it was served and to make it worse there was kids running round the pub screaming and shouting so not a good experience what so ever

Bar staff are rude, and the customers and staff are too busy sniffing coke in the toilets. Supposed to be a family pub, definitely wouldn’t want to bring my children here again.

Stumbled upon the place popped in for a pint as you do.. ended up with 18 pound mega mixed grill telling well worth it was full all day and didn't wanna see a steak again I was that full

Excellent meals for 30 people at lunch

I don't mind if the bar staff don't see me straight away, but for a whole football to walk in ten minutes after me and get served before me would test the patients of a saint. Other than that moan, I really enjoyed the meal.

Always super friendly staff Great little area for children and dedicated t.v with kids channels to keep the young ones entertained. My go to place when taking my 2 year old out for food and a dance.

A standard Marston's pub. Food is okay. If you come in from the car park there are normally smokers clogging the entrance despite the smoking ban in places like this having been in force for years. It doesn't give a good first impression. On our last visit, one end of the pub was obscured by a fog created by people vaping. Not great. The chips are always good.

Popped in here on the off chance because we didn't fancy cooking. Well what a great decision that was! Food was absolutely spot on and very reasonable. If you like the footy they got that covered too but not in your face. Private booth seating and eating areas good selection of drinks. Very accommodating and welcoming. Rose and her team were lovely Highly recommended. We will be back THANK YOU😁

Been living near Merry Boys for the best part of 20 years and had never ventured inside... today went in with my mom and it was really nice! A warm welcome from staff, clean, spacious... and the food we ordered was really nice! I had a steak and cheese baguette with onion chutney... my mom had the cod and chips with mushy peas, both from the light bites menu... both meals came to about £13 and again I can't stress how much we both enjoyed them... and we're pretty fussy eaters haha... clean cutlery, tables, the toilets too... and then Rose, the pub manager, couldn't have been lovelier... thanks for creating such a warm visit for us! 😃

A cracking meal this afternoon, had hunters chicken for the first time ever. What a surprise so tasty, this for me at the next pub visit. Also staff really friendly & welcoming.

Food has improved alot compared to years ago. Staff are polite and helpful. Seems to be new owners and it shows in a nice way. Only downfall was one of the bar staff acting unprofessional

Met up with family for a meal on a Friday night early evening. It was not overcrowded and the place itself is reasonable in terms of decor and atmosphere. The service however could have been better it took quite a while for fairly basic menu choices such as Fish and Chips to arrive and even longer for the bread and butter that was part of the dish. The food was okay but I don’t think we will be in a rush to go back here for a while.

Disappointing... went for an 80th birthday meal, tables were booked and pud knew the number of people attending. I ordered a mixed grill only to be told they had no more left 🤨. It was early evening about 18:30 and only one other person in the group had ordered a mixed grill. They should of made sure they had a full menu and enough for more that one serving. To make it worse i asked one of the other bartenders if they'd had a busy day, they replied by saying "no it been a quiet day", and it was still pretty empty. To make matters worse, despite it been quiet i took ages to be served ( even for a pint ).

The first time we've been in here, all the staff were really friendly, especially the woman that served us behind the bar & the food was delicious, would definately recommend this pub

Fantastic night seeing Signing Off - UB40! Music and band were 👌 Problems encountered were waited 40 mins to get our first drink, although not as long after there didn't seem to be any system to serving customers in a fair way. Although the bar staff were rushed off their feet, they seemed to concentrate on serving the regulars first and the males second. Most disappointing for us females. It was packed to the rafters and a slight confusion of why we purchased - in advance - tickets for entry, which although were only £3 each, wasn't needed as no-one was monitoring the door so was walking in free of charge. Rose is new to the pub and has some great ideas if last night was anything to go by 👍 as previously stated it was the waiting time at the bar that was the issue and staff completely dismissing you eventhough they could see who had been stood infront of them before their break and returned to see you still there, in exactly the same place.

I really rate this pub (and Im normally very choosy ! ) From the minuit I entered I was made to feel welcome.The bar staff were polite and efficient.I noted they were constantly cleaning when not serving....( always a good sign ) I tried the dirty chips , which were tasty,hot and served really quickly. Im sure this place will become the ' go to ' place for families and ..well.. basically everyone in the community ! Highly recommended 🤓

Terrible food steaks were taugh even though they was done medium rare peppercorn sauce was like water and my partner had a Sunday dinner which was still partially frozen roast potatoes full of grease 👎 not the best for food avoid

Not very good. All meals for a large party offered in advance. Several courses were not available, and changed. Bar staff new, so didn't know location of drinks on bar, or how to work till. No 0% beer, no lemonade, mistake in bill Etc, etc. We still had a good time, but they need to get up to speed, or loose trade.

Poor food options. No alternatives on the menu. No music. Manager picks his bum and serves. Bar staff the best part of the place. Approach with caution. Possibility of dissatisfaction

Nice pub. Management and staff warm and hospitable. Guiness was good but was served in the wrong glass and lost its head. Food was ok. Toilets were clean.

A bit on the £££ side I had to pay 2.75 for a Pepsi when I can buy a whole bottle for 1.99 other than that the staff were nice covid secure rules were there to tell us what they were but no one was enforcing it someone on the door to let people in polite ect modern feeling pub spaced out if you have the £££ for it then recommended otherwise go to whether spoons and buy a pint for £2.20

It was a Thursday steak day and not a steak in sight. Me a prawn cocktail on a plate??? My big hunger son hsd the massive. chicken and gammon with melted cheese was ok.pore plesent bar maid on her own running round like a headless chicken.
