I wanted to treat my mom with a spa day and I chose this hotel because of the location. It's in a very pretty and quiet area, amazing for walking around. The spa is a little bit out dated, but the service was very good. My mom can't stop praising the lady who gave her a massage. Abby is very kind and definitely knows what she is doing, can't praise her enough!

It’s a very average place with very average service. I tried to call them a couple of days before hand and after trying 14 times and being on hold for 30 mins each time, the call was finally answered. Poor service from the start. I arrived early and although the chap confirmed the room was ready, I was not allowed to have it unless I paid. They were happy to keep me waiting and have the room ready and empty which made no sense to me. The spa area is ok but again, charge for robes. Breakfast option for vegetarians were limited. Eggs only scrambled. No options for anything else. Over all, it was ok. Nothing to shout about.

A beautiful location however, a less pleasant experience. Having booked a spa day as a birthday present from my partner, we experienced pretty poor service and food. We asked for slippers but they had run out, they then received a delivery of them at around 3pm. After spending some time by the pool, we got changed (changing rooms were not the nicest), however there were no wet bags for swimming costumes or any way to dry them. We sat down for afternoon tea, which took over 40mins to arrive. Other guests were also complaining about the wait and service. When it eventually arrived, there were slightly stale basic sandwiches, ham, cheese, salmon (which was slimey), shop bought dry cakes and (warm which was nice) but dry scones. At this point we were so hungry from waiting, we made do. Headed upstairs to look at the relaxation room (which was just a waiting room) and decided to grab a complimentary tea or coffee. There was no milk or cups and when we asked, we were told "can you go and get one from downstairs". I then had a 50 minute treatment but it was more like 40 minutes. The massage was ok, but the facial was not a nice experience. I had multiple products vigorously slapped onto my face with very little care. When I left I still had exfoliant in my hair, up my nose, in my eyelashes, eyes and ears. While these are all small things, we've left feeling hungry, greasy and gritty. Not fresh and rejuvenated. Would not recommend.

Beautiful grounds and buildings but, a fair percentage of staff cannot understand English despite being front of house; drinks were difficult to order and the restaurant experience was no better. I genuinely felt like I was on holiday abroad despite only being an hour from home.

Stayed for a mini spa break. Hotel - Beautiful surroundings and buildings, well maintained. Hotel room - as expected, comfortable, clean (the bathroom floor tiles were slippy without grips on our feet e.g in socks/tights) Spa - pool was nice, not deep so not really good for swimming. Facilities okay, you need a £1 for the lockers, we were not informed of this, when booking. No robe provided/available although this was included on our booking. The reception said they’d bring robes to us, never did. Food - was okay, we had lunch (tasted good) 2-course meal as part of our package. Nearly 80% of the menu had supplemented costs attached - see photo. We were not informed of this when booking. Service - poor, slow, not attentive to customers needs, we had no check backs, had to ask for cutlery (for our lunch from the bar) was not asked if we wanted extras / desserts / further drinks (for dinner) After waiting over 30mins from main plates being cleared, it was nearly 10pm.! We booked for 8.30pm. Check in - we were able to access the spa in the am, however, noting there was no request for us to provide proof of booking / nor at the spa, we could have been anyone using the facilities for free! Real shame, this was meant to be a celebrity trip for myself and my husband.

Stayed here with my family and young baby. We were welcomed by a lovely receptionist, who was friendly and knowledgeable. Staff could not have been more helpful in the bar and the restaurant. Rooms are nice with lovely views. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with a stunning lake. My daughter was so impressed she is thinking of booking her wedding there. We are planning another visit in August.

We booked to stay at the manor. There's a catch, you're not actually in the manor, rather set up in what I can only describe as chalets like butlins... we paid for an upgrade to stay in the manor and somehow ended up with the honeymoon suite.. it was absolutely stunning... scary in the middle of the night I must admit... (its a 16th century manor haunted by a little girl, older women and a white horse apparantly) On arrival, they had no draft beers, no lime cordial, no bottle opener & no change 🙈 But with staying in the manor, the customer service was near non existent, we couldn't get through to order food, and when we did it took near 2 hours for it, we had to go chase it which is a small drive away late at night in our dressing gowns... when the food came with was horrible. Thankfully we didn't pay for it after complaining and we had breakfast free too, the breakfast was absolutely beautiful. However, i don't think we'll go again.

The venue was well placed for access to Warwick and the Cotswolds and the accommodation and swimming pool were good/very good. Breakfast excellent too. My only minor grumble that I was asked to pay a £10 supplement (on top of my preordered paid for voucher for 2 courses) on chicken supreme which was anything but. It was merely mediocre quality chicken and chips and never worth the additional money. Staff friendly but didn’t explain hotel meal times or invite comments when I left. Hence this post.

I have taken a week to decide if I should leave this complaint or not. But, after much thought have decided to put my complaint in and hopefully recevie some compensation for a not so nice 50th birthday gift from my son. Got to the hotel - check in enquired about resturants close to the hotel for dinner was told that we were far from anything so basically only the hotel resturant was available. I had added £25 per person option for dinner already to my booking but looking at the reviews already by other guests wanted other options Asked to see the menus was given two. When said I would choose when we went to the resturant that evening was told no had to decide there and then and pay. I thought that was very forceful but went went with the option £25 per person for 2 courses. Booked into our hotel room....no towels had to request 3 times for towels to be brought to the room eventually found a cleaner that was still cleaning the floor and asked him for bath towels which he brought straight away. Then went to the spa which was included in the woucher as that is why my son choose this hotel. To be told sorry not included and we had to pay £10 each to use the facilities. When we said no it was included they said sorry it was not. By then other guests were coming down and we were so embarrassed and my partner was fumming we left. Something my son paid for and we were not allowed to use the facility if we did not pay more.....how wrong is this. Went to dinner at 7pm. Bar staff got drink order mixed up... took 35 minutes to correct as other staff were bringing cocktails back from other guests saying that the cocktails were awful and wanted their money back. Went to dinner....understaffed. So waited hours for staff to take orders. They were rude, unprofessional in taking orders. Starters came was alright. Mains took 30 minutes to arrive the steak was awful, no seasoning, small, dead overcooked and for additional £13.50 charge not worth the money at all . The fish was undercooked and the additional 2 x onion rings ordered never appeared even asking for them twice. Finally went to the manager asked him for the onion rings said he would get them they arrived after our dinner plates had been taken already so sent them back. Requested desert which for additional £8 per person well McDonalds servings are bigger and better. Whilst sitting in the resturant we were not the only ones complaining about cost of food, bad quality, staff rudeness, cocktails awful, their experience at the spa. One person had driven 3 hours to be told their was no spa booking ie massages etc and they could not fit them in. Even though they had confirmation of the booking. Breakfast we waited 20 minutes no staff around so just walked and seated ourselves Breakfast was not bad at all. But still no staff around. Again other guests complaining. My 50th birthday gift from my son was not a good experience or time away

We booked a 1 night deal to include 2 course dinner and breakfast. The location is beautiful and has large grounds. Accommodation is either in the outbuildings or country house itself. After being a little disappointed with our room we asked if we could upgrade to a better room. The lovely lady on the help desk gave us a room in the county house. It was huge and very comfortable. Bar and restaurant were great. We enjoyed our 2 course dinner service was just a little slow but we didn’t really mind. Pool was great but it was quiet I can imagine it gets a little crowded at peak times. Breakfast was really good too. Staff we encountered were all great. Overall a really nice stay and we would return to Walton Hall.

We stayed as a couple for a spa package booked through “spa seekers” on the 14/03/2025 and left on 15/03/2025. The grounds of the hotel and spa are beautiful. Apart from that, we were very disappointed. On arrival, we were not offered robes and slippers. Instead we were only given a towel. My partner then went to ask for a robe and slippers as other people coming into the spa had them and it was explicitly stated on our booking that they were complimentary. The staff were not going to give us them until another member of staff said we should have been given them on arrival. We then went to eat in the restaurant and paid for afternoon tea. No where on the menu does it state a price per person, only £25 for afternoon tea. The waitress also didn’t inform us that this was the price per person so when we came to pay we were charged £50. When we questioned this it was reduced to £25 but again we were offered no apology. The package we paid for included a two course dinner. But 80% of the menu then required a supplementary charge. And the desserts are ridiculously overpriced. £8.50 for two scoops of ice cream and one chopped up waffle was absolutely ridiculous. A very disorganised, disappointing and overpriced place to stay. Wouldn’t recommend.

The setting of the hotel was beautiful.. the room we had in Orchard Mews was on the basic side but was literally just somewhere to rest our heads so that never bothers us.. We had the 2 course set menu and I found the options very limited due to my dietary needs. I don't have allergies but certain foods don't agree with me. So I only had a starter and desert which was yummy (the best part of my meal. My husband had the jalfrezi for main meal. He was ill throughout the night so we got up and left before having breakfast. So all in all it wasn't a great stay

I will be honest the spa was more like a kids swimming pool, it was loud of full of children. They were jumping in constantly and splashing us and their parents did nothing. The room was immaculate and fine, nothing wrong with the room. Lunch was lovely We had a dinner package and then when we got to dinner we found out most things on the menu we had to pay extra for. We both ordered medium rare sirloin which was an extra £13.50 each, they both came blue. We ordered peppercorn sauce each and that was another £5 each. In total our meal came to £50 after we had already booked and paid for a two course dinner. I would rate the food a 1/10. Breakfast was also not good at all. All the staff were extremely polite and lovely with us, the room and staff are the only reason this isn’t getting a 1*.

We stayed for 1 night and had a very good experience. The Hotel is in lovely large grounds, if a bit out of the way down a long lane so plenty of walking available. We were in a Mews behind the main house on the ground floor. The room was large and well fitted out, but there was a musty smell on entering. The window had, however, been opened and the smell soon disappeared. There was no soap in the bathroom dispenser but otherwise all was good. Would not recommend at all. Paid extra to use the pool and the pool was closed. Went to the restaurant which was massively understaffed, which resulted in terribly slow service. The food was awful, both myself and my partner ordered the chicken Jalfrezi which came out more like a soup with some veg thrown in. I didn’t have any bits of chicken in my dish which in hindsight appears to have been for the best as my partner has since had food poisoning although she suspects it could be from their prawn cocktail small plate. We didn’t even stay, we went straight home. Awful experience, no management. It comes across as if everyone is new there and just trying their best to get by

The location of the hotel and the spa were the main reason for booking, however on arrival we found out that the pool was closed. The booked treatment was very good and the staff were friendly, especially the lovely Polish lady, who my mum got on fabulous with. Unfortunately when it came to our evening meal, that was very different. My niece is lactose intolerant, as well as corn intolerant. We did ring ahead and was told that we just need to inform the restaurant staff, which we did. Unfortunately there was a very limited menu for her. She had also asked for a bowl of fruit for dessert, but was told as it wasn't on the menu, she couldn't have it, so she paid for a 2 course meal, but wasn't able to have it. Once we ordered we waited almost an hour for our drinks and main course and 45 minutes for dessert. The service was shocking, due to being understaffed. When it came to breakfast, all my niece was able to have was toast, with nothing on it. When my sister asked the waitress about specifics regarding the food, the waitress was incredibly rude. What was meant to be a relaxing fun time with family, ended up being stressful and leaving my niece very hungry and my sister very annoyed.

This hotel is dirty, run down and stifling hot. Without air conditioning, they should provide each room with a nice sized fan. When we requested a fan, they did not have one and refused to help us out. Our rooms never cooled down making it impossible to sleep. The shower temperature gauge was broken, soap dispenser empty, and only one set of towels (which didn't matter since the shower was unusable without burning your skin.) Arrived for a two night stay with breakfast as a treat for me and a family member, very disappointed with the room , the mattress on the single bed very uncomfortable, hot water very noisy when running bath or shower and sink. Hair in the bath. Very cold room on arrival with a musty smell. Breakfast was terrible the lack of some very basic traditional foods . Long wait times for bread to arrive, long wait for hot and cold buffet. Very poor indeed. Very limited evening dinning menu. Set in such a beautiful location not cosy at all in the bar area or restaurant, no music played at all ,simply no atmosphere such a shame so much so we paid for two nights and only stayed one night . The leisure facilities very basic and dirty , two changing cubicles for a lot of people but my biggest disappointment was no jacuzzi facilitie. Infact it has spoiled my weekend. Homewood bound.

Enjoyed our stay. A lot of positives, Cracking place for wedding, lovely back drops. Conference rooms galore, A lot of negatives but try not to let it spoil the stay. Our room had double doors boarded up. Window frames rotted away. All unable to open. Dining in was good at breakfast poor at evenings. Over priced small portions. Think half as good as weather-spoons at twice the price. Shame really, bit more effort could have been on the money. Had a better time on second visit but we’re in a better room. They have not made any improvements to the rotten rooms. We had been assured the improvements had been made. NOT. The manager that had assured us had been replaced ! After some initial back and forth over email regarding a misleading Buy A Gift voucher, I visited last month on a spa day with my sister. Whilst the spa treatments were great, there were aspects of the visit that were less polished. The leisure and spa facilities were basic, but sufficient. As the facilities are part of the wider hotel, they’re shared with hotel guests, including children. We were told to just show up for our afternoon tea when we were ready which didn’t sit comfortably so we went over to the restaurant to make them aware of when we wanted this. It appeared that they were expecting us to be booked in for a specific slot so there had clearly been confusion. We also wanted to buy a coffee in the main hotel building, but there was very little atmosphere - no music playing, no staff behind the bar, and once we’d found somebody to ask, the service was slow. The afternoon tea itself was nice, but again, there was limited atmosphere. The location and setting is beautiful and we enjoyed a walk around the grounds. The older part of the building (which is used on a lot of the Buy A Gift material) is worth a look as the spa day itself takes place in the modern part of the hotel.

A hotel set in wonderful surroundings, but hampered by a design decision that means some of the rooms have a connecting door. And as a result your sleep will be a lottery depending on how noisy your "neighbours" are as the door is no barrier to sound. My "neighbours" were extremely noisy most of the night, including keeping the TV on. I appreciate the hotel cannot control the behaviour of its guests in the room, but they can make sure the doors are soundproofed. Service in the restaurant was ok, shout out to the one waitress who was super friendly and helpful. Food was very average.

You may need a car to get to the town centre as it is a remote area so it may be hard to get a taxi there and back to wherever you need to get to It is nice, peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed it so much, me and my beautiful wife that we stayed for one extra night. I hope you find this review helpful. If you have any questions at all about our stay, please ask. 😁

The tour bus can only enter through the front yard gate. The back yard gate is too narrow.

We took two interconnected rooms here and through the entire booking process, interaction was seamless. We came to visit Stratford and this was conveniently located. There are three things that are most special about this hotel: 1. The first part is that every single staff member keeps smiling and that is so pleasing I cannot tell you! We thought that is the city thing, but I can assure you that it wasn’t. Our maximum interaction was with restaurants staff who were outstanding! Booking process was smooth and interaction was seamless. Reception staff, housekeeping- everyone just gave a very friendly vibe… in fact- I would go back to this property for how good and friendly the staff was- if not anything else. 2. The location is awesome! It’s conveniently located at 20 minutes drive from Stratford. This is less of a hotel, more of a resort… Extremely well maintained for such a large Property. I was really surprised to see the level of cleanliness in winter. 3. Dessert 🍨- all I can say is that it would be a crime to visit this hotel and not have everything from the dessert menu… Now- three minor issues happened, which are to me anomaly and frankly the staff was so nice that I feel guilty in giving four stars overall… but it is what it is: 1. Both the days we were staying there, there was no macaroni cheese available from the kids menu. It was important for the younger one. 2. On day 1- even Tortilla chips were not available… that meant that only Garlic bread was available for kids starter menu- and that wasn’t bread, it was naan 😊. Like I said, staff was very flexible and helpful in giving us a few things out of the menu so we managed it without any issues. 3. My girls wanted to do something crazy and part of that was going for swimming after breakfast and then going for swimming again before dinner. Unfortunately, on day one, that couldn’t materialise because there was a power failure and the swimming pool was not operational till almost 11 am. it was all working fine in the evening and the water was nice and warm.

The room was small but clean, and I had most of the things you would need, iron, kettle, TV, shower, and bath.

Rooms were comfortable and clean. The setting, grounds, and old building were beautiful. However, it was very busy, the dining room was like a cafeteria, busy, loud and very limited. It was like being in a holiday resort.

Quality of service can be very hit or miss at Costa. Unfortunately this branch is a big miss. Service was really poor with rude staff. Our food was not properly heated, cold in the middle. Queue was also extremely slow moving. Won’t be coming back.

The beer is excellent particularly the Speckled Hen. We had a great time. Plus will be stopping here after we walk locally. This place is great with loads of atmosphere.
