Very very very poor quality food, portions for price are disgraceful, imo very low quality produce both under cooked & overcooked, when complaining was met with an attitude and look as if we should be happy to eat it. Atmosphere was great but that's it

Pretty sure the staff were racist/ prejudice(to English people) . Got asked for ID buying tap water - no joke - when I disputed this bar tender was confrontational and said I wasn’t old enough to be in a pub (I’m 23). She was disappointed when I proved this and then served me the most disgusting nachos that didn’t have any cheese or beef on (they were supposed to) and were stone cold. Wasn’t given cutlery.

Very nice and Beautiful place to have drinks. But it’s not the best if you want to eat. We ask rump steak and they didn’t put salt and pepper on the meat so it was a total waste of food. The system to order the meal have no sense.

I ordered a burger with blue cheese and caramelised onions. Blue cheese wasn't melted and the red onions looked as though they had been shown the pan. Not even soft.

Great service, atmosphere was electric (local football club playing in Champions League game), prices reasonable and food was wonderful.

We visited on a midweek evening and discovered that the pub had quite a good range of locally produced real ales. The cost of a pint is fine too for a city centre location. It was also nice that they had a couple of live football matches on TV.

Great food, although the portion size of chips is grim These cocktails are great, but feel for the price should have more alcohol less ice

We managed to get a booth to have a few chill drinks. A pub showing the current sport. TV in the booths which is pretty cool. We ended up playing a board game together and was complimented by a member of the team for it.

My partner and I went in for food last night before going to the Glee Club. It was amazing! In-expensive and the cocktails were really good. We even ordered dessert!

Brilliant pub this. Has 2 floors and plenty of seating. Not expensive either considering its location. Great selection of beers. I had a chicken burger and it was great. Hot and tasty. Loads of screens for sports aswell. Wherever you are seated you can see a screen.

The Thai Coconut Vegetable Curry was delicious, and a pint of Stella was welcome after the day at The British Open. Warm atmosphere!

The Merchant is a fab venue for a night out!! The staff are so friendly, particularly Grant who went above and beyond to ensure that our booking was all sorted and gave excellent recommendations for their new cocktails. Will definitely be back soon!!

I had the best time at the merchant on Saturday night! We booked for a birthday night out, our table was close to the bar and the dj was great! We were served by lily, ruthven and molly who were all great and super helpful! Can’t wait to come back again!

A superb pub dedicated to sport with giant screens everywhere, slot machines, very good catering with fast and efficient service. A Champions League semi-final evening, a great atmosphere. And a year later still great 👍

Food was pretty good. The cocktails are so good! One bartender made a drink wrong and instead of remaking it, dumped it in a bigger cup and added more ginger ale which unbalanced the drink. He may have been in training though and was nice when I asked if he could add a little more Jameson.

We were able to go in at a quarter to eleven, but didn't order until eleven o'clock. Enjoyed a great Scottish breakfast.

Overall the food and service setup was poor, would not recommend - go to any other bar in the vicinity! - food was not good, seemed to be frozen and reheated and very skimpy portions for meat (chicken tikka masala, steak pie) - you must order via app (very finicky / buggy. The drink menu wouldn’t even load) or at the bar - they advertise a MIXR app download to get a free drink which does not actually work The staff were nice when you interacted with them but overall just a very bizarre experience.

Hi there was in merchant yesterday prior to the take that concert. 4 of us served by mason who was the perfect bar person very friendly and an absolute credit to the company also spoke to Iona today 5/5/24 who was absolutely fantastic Will certainly be back as soon as possible give them a pay rise as they go above and beyond which employers should take note of but in this day and age they don’t it’s as ll about profits

Went out to have a few drinks with friends at the weekend. Big Jamie behind the bar was great at keeping us topped up on drinks. Got small sharer plates for around a tenner. Couldn’t complain. It’s was perfect for grazing while having pints.

Have to say the food used to be the best ..but steak pie 🥧 removed from menu 😭😭😭😭😭 absolute tragedy...had the Chip shop platter Today ....and was so disappointed ...... Fish wasn't the best ...let's hope it was 1 off

Only called in for a quick beer on a mini pub crawl but when I discovered that there was SCHIEHALLION Lager available - one of my favourites had to stay for a while. Well kept beers. Friendly and helpful staff - even managed to educate the guy serving on the Cask Marque Ale Trial. Thoroughly recommended

We went last week to have late lunch and some beers. The staff was okey, could have been nicer though. The guy serving the food didn’t even say ‘good afternoon’ nor he responded back. The guys at the bar were nice. Food was really good and the beers and cider too! The atmosphere is very, very nice!!

Had a wonderful experience in the Merchant. Had a delightful family dinner, would recommend to any family with kids as the kids menu was great value. Fab Fab Fab!! Drinks were great and service was excellent we were served by Katie and enjoyed chatting with her. Will definitely be back again.

Visited this city centre pub 🍻 on a few occasions. Very nice staff and always get a seat. Well worth while a visit.

Have drank in there a few times to watch sport and never had an issue till last night when the staff tried to serve me the bottom of a keg that was so cloudy and she wanted to top it up with the new keg which I refused to accept. It was when she said to me in a stroppy way " thank you that will now come out of my wages " that I felt its not my fault if your company does not allow spillage and is breaking the law of they take it from your wages. It's at this point I thought I have to point this out to Paul at Glasgow City Council licensing about this. 15 years I worked and managed bars in Glasgow and beyond and I have never come across this draconian practice. Should be ashamed to treat staff in this way that they take it out on the customer.

Spoons vibes & fantastic prices for students. Great layout, very spacious. Lots of screens we didn't look at. Slightly annoying strobe lights. Lovely overall.

Big bar. Lots of tables. Sports on quite a few TVs. Good selection of lagers etc. Not so many ales. Service was quick even though it was very busy.

Three of us walked in mid-afternoon on a Wednesday, only staff member behind the bar was busy talking to another person..after a few minutes without and sign of service..we left..very poor.

Food is pretty good and reasonable prices. Festive Vegan burger was really good. Highly recommend the cookie apple pie. It is a bit too noise, even for a pub. Services could improve a bit, as it takes a bit to get food and last time attendant insisted something was not in the menu, even thought it was.

This place was absolutely buzzing the first time we went in. There was some event going on upstairs, and the people were really giving it loads noise wise. The prices were fine and the atmosphere was great as well. Some people were eating,and they seemed to be enjoying the food. Service was quick and efficient, they also had loads of football on the different screens. This place is a must for a starting point if you're having a drink in Glasgow. We loved it so much we went back a couple of times, well done.

Went for drinks after dinner on a Saturday night. Good atmosphere although music got turned up to a ridiculous level at one point. The bar also had no Morgan's and ran out of Kraken. We were using the app to order drinks but that then stopped working.

What a great night ..music was great and so were staff 😁

My wife and I went in for something to eat, I ordered Balmoral chicken which was very dry with what tasted like microwave veg, which was hard, not much chicken, my wife had steak pie with very hard veg and both meals could have been warmer and no diet coke

Visited the Merchant tonight and was served by Jamie who was very informative and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Not a bad looking lad either ;)
