Mercante in City of London, Westminster

Great breakfast buffets here 7 days per week! However, what really makes this place shine is the wonderful staff who has always gone above & beyond for me! Many thanks to Edward, Oksana, and James for their stellar customer service! :)

The Mercante inside the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane was absolutely wonderful. We spent a week at this beautiful hotel and Edward took such great care of us every morning for breakfast. We also had dinner there one evening. The food and service were fantastic!

The lunch was incredible and Avloy was so kind .The pizza was so tasty and the service was so professional. I will visit the restaurant again for sure.

I have had a really great dining experience provided by Irina and Avloy. Both taken good care of me by recommending the main dish and dessert that made my day. The seafood risotto is a must try, pact with flavours and perfectly cooked rice. The panna cotta was the best I’ve tried so far.

We had an excellent experience at Mercante at the Grand Sheraton in London. Notably, James Giraldo was a fantastic server and we looked forward to seeing him each morning of our stay. He remembered our coffee orders and always got our day off to a great start. Keep an eye out for him if you go!

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel restaurant. The pastas are made fresh in house and the selection from pastas, steaks, fish, and vegetarian starters and salads was impressive. I had the Sirloin and it was cooked perfectly. Very flavorful and had a nice small salad and small tomatoes. The zucchini fries were amazing! They were lightly fried almost like a light tempura and were excellent. Eduardo was my waiter and was professional, knowledgeable about the menu, and really friendly. He knew when to give me time alone to eat and was always there when I needed something. He is a great addition to Mercante and I would eat here again for sure. Also, for London, a very fair price.

Absolutely AMAZING! This is one of if not my favorite restaurant while I’m visiting London. The waiters and waitress’ are super friendly, the food comes out quick, and the food is DELECTABLE! Spaghetti Carbonara: AMAZING! Margarita Pizza: DELICIOUS! I highly recommend coming if you are in the area!

Une carte très bonne, avec du choix, mais pas trop non plus, ce qui est souvent gage de qualité. Le tiramisu était à tomber par terre ! Le service très sympa malgré notre anglais approximatif ! Le cadre est magnifique et nous avons été très bien reçus.

Great Italian food and host in London!

This restaurant is a real treat! I took a group of 16 people for a business social and it was as a huge success! The location is absolutely perfect, the food is beyond delicious - authentic Italian - and the staff was amazing! I would recommend it to anyone - I guarantee a fantastic experience!

Was really disappointed with Mercante, as I was expecting something great. It's just part of one of the large hotels in Mayfair (and I'd thought it was a standalone restaurant). I'd looked at the images on the reviews here and was expecting great things, but it was just a very poor standard. I had the chicken Milanese, it was half the size of the photos you see on here), with nothing on it (no lovely chopped tomatoes or fresh shavings of parmesan), with a few chips and rocket. I even had to chase down some parmesan to accompany the meal, and it was just spooned out of a jar. Also we got there about 9pm and it was totally dead; we were the only people in there.

I can’t say I really care for Mercante. It’s one of 3 restaurants attached to the Sheraton Park Lane hotel in Mayfair. I’ve eaten a few times here but when there is such good Italian food and breakfast in London, this is not an option for me. PRO: - Attached to Sheraton Park Lane hotel, there is convenience if you are staying here - Can charge it to your room if you are staying here and accrue Marriott loyalty points CON: Breakfast: The buffet isn’t very good. I’ve had sour juice here. The bacon was so overcooked it couldn’t be cut. The omelette is not a good alternative choice as it’s all egg - very stingy on the fillings. SUMMARY: When you are staying in a hotel you can get too tired to look for proper options. I wouldn’t do breakfast here (it’s the only breakfast from the 3 restaurants).

Great food, great service, great prices, carbonara and pizza rossa were delicious, our server was great.

Had the Risotto with mushrooms. It was good my daughter had the pizza. It was very good and I do recommend it. The atmosphere was pleasant and we were seated right away.

There idea of Italian food was way off base. I have tried Italian food from several reigns around the world and enjoyed their take on flavors but I just didn't understand what they were thinking!

Had a really good dinner at Mercante Restaurant, the fish and potatoes were really good and the wine was also nice. This is a good Italian restaurant and if you have the opportunity, go there.

I wanted to mention Mr. Pedro for his special service, he was smiling and happy for serving us, special thanks for him

Cuisine excellent et service très professionnel

Breakfast, lunch, or dinner – having had each meal at this hotel resto at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane was impressive, comfortable, and tasty, this combination is something that’s not common at many hotel eateries. Many mornings we began the day at an expansive window table overlooking passersby on Piccadilly and The Green Park across the street – great seats, wonderful view. Their Cappuccinos and Full English Breakfast was great too. Though their menu is not extensive, their renditions are good, especially the Fusilli Putanesca and Parmesan Arancini are extremely good, and very worthwhile. The atmosphere is modern, tasteful and the design is conducive to a mild din – where you can have a reasonably quiet conversation. Overall, from breakfast to lunch, to snacks, to evening meal, very good. Kudos to the Staff and Kitchen, well deserved.

Very tasty food and impeccable service

Passavo per caso d’avanti Mercante restaurant e ho letto sul menù fuori che servivano la colazione così sono entrato. Ad accogliermi è stata Alessandra con un enorme sorriso che subito mi ha fatto sentire a mio agio, Alessandra si è presa cura di me dall’inizio alla fine, i suoi caffè eccezionali mi hanno fatto sentire finalmente a casa. Mi ha consigliato di andare per il buffet così che potevo mangiare senza limiti a un prezzo fisso, buffet molto consistente, e il prezzo molto onesto per quello che offre. Raccomando e tornerò sicuramente. Grazie ancora Alessandra per la bella esperienza e il servizio super!

Food’s not worth the money, but service makes up for it.

We were given a window seat aa this in house restaurant of the Sheraton Grand was very quiet at 18.45, rapid service and good food, bill for two courses and no wine was nearly £100 but, this is Park Lane with view over Hyde Park. Service was very attentive an accommodating. The restaurant was convenient for the show we were attending that evening in the same hotel, namely "The Magic Hour", also recommended. The menu highlighted allergens and Vegan offerings.

From the moment you step through the door, the warm and inviting atmosphere welcomes you in, making you feel as though you have been transported to a bustling Italian trattoria. The decor is simple yet elegant, with warm lighting & cosy booths. The menu at Mercante is a celebration of the diverse culinary traditions of Italy, featuring a range of classic dishes and modern interpretations. To start, we ordered Bruschetta, Fritto Misto and the burrata, which was served with fresh cherry tomatoes, basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. The creamy cheese was so delicate that it practically melted in our mouths, and the sweet and tangy tomatoes complemented it perfectly. Next up was the pasta course, and we couldn't resist the CAVATELLI a classic seafood pasta dish. The homemade pasta was cooked to perfection, The pasta was perfect al dente, and the clams, mussels and prawns were tender and flavorful. For our main course, we opted for the fish of the day, a whole roasted seabream served with lemon, garlic, and herbs. The fish was cooked to perfection, with crispy skin and moist, tender flesh. We also tried the Pumpkin Gnocchi and the kids had their usual Margherita pizza. Throughout our dining experience at Mercante, the service was impeccable. Elia, Ivilin and Pedro were knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly, and Elia helped guide us through the menu with ease. In conclusion, Mercante is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking for family-friendly authentic Italian cuisine in London. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is top-notch. Whether you're in the mood for a cosy date night or a celebratory dinner with friends, Mercante is the perfect place to indulge in the flavours of Italy.

Great atmosphere but food quality and service is very poor...

Beautiful aesthetic however that’s where it ends. The meal and the service left much to be desired. The wait time for my meal was unnecessarily long for being one of 2 tables present, as well as the pretentious attitude of my server, as they tended to the table near me multiple times without a second return to mine for any update on my meal. When the meal was finally presented, the lead server requested to demonstrate for another employee. I agreed. At the end of his demonstration I was given a disheveled dish and told to “enjoy”. I had to request a second dish to transfer my items into so as to not feel as if I were eating at a market and given a small side plate. Please do not come here if you are expecting excellence. It certainly is far from.

my review is only about the staff, ad i didn’t had the opportunity to taste the dishes. I asked the lady at the front if they also do take away or just dine in. She said they did take away but suggested me to go to pret a manger bc the waiting was about 20 minutes. It was empty. I’ve waited for sure. I hope it was a misunderstanding. All in all 1/5 Mercante but 5/5 pret a manger 💪🏼

Ik heb hier heerlijk gegeten vandaag met me vriendin. Maar jammer dat zo rustig was desondanks vond ik dat ook wel fijn. Het leek beetje op een private diner goeie ervaring en we hadden niks te kort. Heel erg bedankt

I love the atmosphere in the place, we came before the theatre and we where late because of the amazing service, we didn’t want to live, food was really good, I’ll recommend the potato and truffle pizza and the fried zucchini as a side with some drops of Tabasco if you like spice and for sure an entire bottle of wine.

It was raining, they were warm, thank god for that ❤

Fiance and I went for an impromptu dinner with a friend this evening and ended up here. The service was great and the food was exactly as I expected. Good quality Italian without a lot of pomp and circumstance!

Chose to have a work lunch here as the reviews looked decent. However I found the food to be disappointing. Nothing to rave home about. I think we ordered half the menu and it was unanimously average and perhaps that's why this place was empty besides our table during lunch hour on a Friday. My constructive critique for the kitchen is to revive the menu particularly with seasonal ingredients. The vegetarian options in particular could be improved, there was no vegetarian pasta option. Had to default to a pizza with essentially potatoes and a lot of cheese, it felt very heavy/ greasy and lacked flavourful. The halloumi bites were fried but also lacked any flavor, not seasoned on the inside, the sauce it came with was pretty boring. Even the staff had nothing to recommend when asked. I would say overall pretty average food and service, the reason I give this place a 2/5 is that I just expected better from a restaurant in this area.

Food was ok but the pasta was a little salty. Customer service was ok apart from when I asked for the bill they have forgotten to apply the offer discount which I was supposed to get. Nice venue and location.

The food was absolutely beautiful, me and my partner went for our anniversary and I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough! The service was excellent and the food was phenomenal.

So apparently this restaurant closes at 6pm on Sunday afternoon, not as what it says online. We made a reservation at 18:00 on 19th Sep, received a confirmation email, travelled all the way down to London, and found a closed door at 18:00. After knocking on quite several door, a staff finally came out reluctantly and said the restaurant was closed and we could find something to eat elsewhere if we want. Such a good service. Bravo!

Just wanted to share our amazing experience we had at Mercante the other week. From the very beginning the service was up to scratch starting from showing us a table and finishing with the meal and desserts. We had an eight-course tasting menu with matching wines, and I found it really interesting how an executive chef Max was coming out on the floor to explain a dish. It was a special occasion which the staff was aware of, and we were treated exactly that way. The food was honestly stunning, the plating, the taste and escalation. Myself, I work in catering customer service industry, so no need to say, thay not intentionally I always judge by high standards. Really well done to the team working on the night and I look forward to coming back.

High quality Italian food with great service and atmosphere

It was a quite night here only 5 tables... Staff were very lovely and friendly. Food was also very good. With a really nice selection of very exciting dishes. Portion sizes were a little on the small side. I would definitely recommend and will be going back.... Thank you for a wonderful evening. R

If you want wonderful Italian cuisine, nice atmosphere and pay less than you could expect, Mercante is right place to come. Especially for lunch. Try pasta, try coffee, try fish (!)

Cucina italiana al top gentilissimo il personale veramente professionale in modo particolare Laura ed Alessandro.

Average food with high prices, plus service was quite poor. They forgot one of the mains and didn’t even apologise instead making up an excuse. Then while I was still eating my main, cleared everyone else’s plates and put down dessert menus - not what you expect in Mayfair.

This restaurant has been a great surprise. I went for brunch and choose the menu with 3 courses and bottomless Prosecco. The food was really good and the staff super friendly. I highly recommend it!

I have traveled extensively and I have been trying different restaurants, and Mercante Is particularly good. Place and service are above most of the restaurants I have been in London. Pricewise is very affordable and the quality of the food is superb. I'm having it as one of my favourite restaurants in the city.

Tasty Italian adjacent to the Sheraton Park Lane. Service is both refined and friendly. Nice patio in the front to watch the world walk by on Piccadilly.

Loved this Italian restaurant, the linguine vongole was superb! Having lived 3 years in Rome, think to know how it should taste and it was on par. The decor of the restaurant is modern with Italian touches. Great place for lunch, ask for the lunch menu 2 course £15, 3 course £19 is very reasonable!

I cannot recommend their prosecco brunch anymore. Absolutely fantastic service..very friendly and attentive but not over the top. We have come for the free flowing prosecco three course brunch. I've not once sat an waited for a drink, constantly being topped up. There is a 90 minute limit on this but honestly that's enough! The food really is great and the bubbles (to be enjoyed 3 ways) is beautiful! Would absolutely come here again!!
