Menya Ramen in Camden

Poor service. Rude Korean male staff who did not let us put our stuff on spare chair even though they didn’t have customers inside.

If I’m in this area to visit the British Museum I usually eat. This is a great ramen restaurant - delicious broths, good portions and friendly service. Just what ramen is supposed to be - a fast, tasty lunch in the middle of a busy day. Who needs ‘fast food’?

Stop here on my way to the British Museum for lunch. It was fantastic. It was a spur of the moment thing because I didn't really have an idea what I wanted to eat. I ordered the Kimchi Ramen bowl with medium heat and it was perfect. The staff, all female, were very nice and I really enjoyed it. Thank you.

I found this place a few years ago, and since I visit it every time I’m in town. Amazing Ramen, one of the best hands down. An absolute gem.

My 11 year old son had a procedure at Great Ormond Street Hospital and was discharged at 6pm - I had promised him Ramen, his favourite food after a long day at the hospital. So we walked to Menya and were so excited about tucking into some delicious Ramen. When we arrived, we were told it was cash only and I only had £20 in cash. We could afford one bowl of ramen and a drink but would be 40p short. I asked them if this would be ok and explained how much my son had been looking forward to this ramen after having a long day at hospital, but we were rudely turned away. I understand restaurants need to make money but for the sake of 40p I thought they would allow us on this occasion given the circumstances - and I would have written a glowing review on Trip Advisor! And we would have gone back there again. As it is, we found a wonderful Japanese izakaya round the corner and went there instead.

The services here is questionable and the shop itself isn't fancy but the ramen is probably the best in London. Highly recommend the spicy seafood ramen. The seafood they use is actually fresh which is rare in London (I remember going to a 2 michelín star restaurant that served 2-3 days old fish). They don't overcook the seafood or the noodles and the broth is very flavorful. In my opinion the standard of ramen here is the highest in London.

When I asked to see the restaurant's policy after being denied service for not ordering three dishes as required by the owner, their response was incredibly rude. They dismissed my request as nonsense, displaying a complete lack of professionalism and respect. Located just round the corner from the British Museum, this is the place to go if you are short on time and want something hot and tasty. Place is a bit small and seating was limited but the food and service is good. Only thing is, for some reason, they only accepted cash when we went. Not a Fanny place by any means .. just good basic ramen noodles.

Best ramen we had so far! We had the gyoza and menya ramen, for £14 each and they were amazing. We're recommending the place to our friends as well.

We, 2 of us, needed a quick lunch on the way from the British Museum to Victoria Apollo for a matinee show, and this was perfect. Saturday lunch about 12.30, in March. They were 1/3 full when we arrived and probably 1/2 when we left. Food was fantastic. I had gyoza ramen (pork) and my wife had a seafood ramen. Service was friendly and efficient. It's cash only, and the prices on the menu are excluding tax, so the bill will be 20% more than you're expecting. £40 for a meal for 2.

Best ramen ever. I had the Menya ramen and hubby had Veg Shoyu ramen. Perfect match to the Asahi beers. Didn’t want to stop eating! Cool place, relaxed vibe, perfect.

In pieno centro e a due passi dal British Museum, questo piccolo ed accogliente locale, a conduzione familiare, ti da la possibilità di assaggiare una delle prelibatezze che la cucina orientale ha da offrire, il Ramen. Ampia la scelta delle combinazioni disponibili sul menù, andando dal classico ramen con carne di maiale fino alla proposta con pesce e crostacei, non dimenticano quella con i ravioli (gyoza) all’interno, quest ultimi squisiti e da poter ordinare anche a parte ( nell’elenco sides). Possibile scegliere la consistenza dei noodle e il grado di piccantezza. Personale affabile e molto disponibile nel consigliare, anche a profani come me, il miglior piatto d’assaggiare. Molto caratteristico il tè servito con delle tipiche ceramiche orientali, da ordinare. Prezzi in media con i ristoranti della zona, 15 £ in media circa a persona, con acqua gratis disponibile nelle brocche vicino all’ingresso. Unico neo, e non so se consuetudine od eccezione, non ha accettato il pagamento in carta, ma solo contante. Da ritornaci.

I have been coming here for a couple of years and the service was always good, usually to meet my son. They always sit me down at a table and I order quickly. Last Friday I arrived to meet my son and his partner. It was just before 1 pm and the restaurant half empty. I asked for a table for 3 and the female said "we will only seat you when all of you arrive". Fair enough (although the restaurant was half empty). I said OK. She then said "You will have to wait outside". This I did not like and asked her why. She said "it is restaurant policy". Well Miss, I have been coming here for 2 years and it was never restaurant policy. I would have left if it wasn't for meeting my son, who arrived 4 mins later. I will therefore not be returning. The service used to be good, fast, and there was no 'restaurant policy' - I am not even sure it is a restaurant policy as it was never imposed on me before. Possibly this restaurant has had too many good reviews (the food is good) and has become RUDE. The other servers were friendly and polite but this one ruined my afternoon. Not worth it.
