So so happy that people are coming back to the pub with a new crew and giving food and care and an atmosphere.

Incredibly well kept pub. Staff were very friendly and the usual drinks were on offer for Sam Smiths. Sadly I didn't have time to try the food.

Our son and girlfriend moved opposite the menston arms today, the lovely owners let him and us park there whilst they moved in. Most welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be using the pub in the future.

Great pint of Sam's handpulled @ £2•00 with friendly, joking customers & a good atmosphere. Also dog friendly. I always call in when in the area, sadly not often enough . Updating my review 7th Sept 20, still with Covid restrictions on, Sam Smith have increased the price by 50% to £3•00 but still good value for a good pint. Sadly very quiet but Tuesday afternoon.

Sadly apart from lovely glowing real fires there would be no reason for a return visit. Antiquated, nearly quaint but tired. Only reason one might go in is cheap ale but other products are more expensive and overall substand. If you want cheap go to Wetherspoons, cheaper overall and better products.

It's a Sam Smiths. You love them or hate them. I love this one. No music, no mobiles. But real fires, great beer and a great space to chat to your mates.

Great country pub with open fires in the winter and beer garden for the summer. Warm friendly atmosphere and great Sam Smith's beers from £1.34 a pint! What's not to like?

Staff managers try their best but again the Brewery ties their hands and the latest ban on all media devices is unbelievable.

A gorgeous little Samuel Smith's pub. Welcoming enough to non-locals too. A decent array of beers, spirits and soft drinks on offer, though not stacked with major brands so be prepared to try stuff you haven't seen before. Of note is a poster declaring a strict 'no swearing' policy, though unclear to what extent this is enforced. The regular pub quiz seems to be held in some reverence, there are even graphs on the wall detailing the flow of points scored week-to-week.

Many years ago, I used to frequent this pub and as I was in the area, I called in for a pint, for old time's sake. Firstly, I was amazed at the price of the beer. A very good pint of Sam Smith's Bitter for £1.90. The atmosphere in the pub is quite unusual. When I arrived, I was surprised by how much everyone was hurling insults at each other. But in a short time, I realised that there had been no falling out and that this was routine banter in the pub. In actual fact, it was full of locals who had a very good relationship with each other. In many ways, my visit was like a trip down memory lane in more ways than one. The price of the beer was how it used to be in the 1980s and the pub was full of locals as it used to be in the 1980s. My only regret is that this pub is not my local, as if it was, I could easily become a regular customer.

Rude and dismissive staff. Poor attitude. If your not a regular they don't want to know. Serve about 3 beers none of which you'll have ever heard of. If you fancy a guinness book a trip to dublin is the reply you will recive. Never again

I’m a regular customer here and always enjoy my coffee , brought in some snacks from another place and sat in and drank. One Female worker specifically(same one that did this twice now), said you’re not allowed to eat, meanwhile there was so many others eating sushis and other big meals and they did not get told of, whereas in my case it was just a sandwich. Personally, felt like she was targeting us and did not feel comfortable. I mean if you really want people not to eat then put a sign on or address to the customers that are, instead of targeting people you feel like. The other staff have never had an issue and are very friendly, except for this one specifically.
