Good tasty food for a good price. Cheap for London, more like the provincial prices. Big enough portions, tasty, well attended yet not overbearing. Quiet on a Saturday evening. Friendly

Great curry spot - as a vegetarian, I really enjoyed the sizzling veg special, and their egg and pea fried rice. Peshwari naan also solid (and yummy when finished off for breakfast the next day!) Also really enjoyed sitting next to a giant fish tank! Very attendant and warm service too

Lovely staff, came in and got some poppadoms while I was in the area on the job. The sauces and salad were really nice and the toilets were spotless and didn't smell at all!

My local curry spot since i moved to the area in 2015. Happy to have an Indian place that maintained its great food for almost a decade. Recommend the red chilli chicken main and the king prawn puri starter. Top place 👍

Popped in on my own on a Friday night - had expected it to be packed but was pretty quiet and I was seated and served very quickly. A really interesting and varied menu - lots of dishes I hadn't seen elsewhere before, including the chicken xacuti which is what I went for and was very tasty. Came in just below £30 for a drink, main, rice, side and a cheese naan which felt pretty reasonable. Would happily visit again.

People are nice and foods are good. If you want to eat good Indian dishes and especially are located around their place, give a try!

All dishes where horribly sweet, pretty much inedible. Not just curries but even naan and sag paneer.

Maybe is was an off evening, but if you want Indian cuisine you won't be disappointed. If you want more than one serviette between you, you might have to ask. The food when it came was very good.

Dropped in here following a visit to see Arsenal play Monaco. The restaurant is a 20 min walk from the Emerites Stadium. It also has a 153 bus stop outside the front door. It is tucked away off the real busy bustling streets. The decor is modern and there is plenty of room between table. Pretty typical menu. My son and I had the set meal for two. Poppadoms, onion barjhi , kebab, chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan, saag allou, rice and nann for £35. All tasty and a decent sized portions. Washed down with a few drinks for £50. Owner was friendly, we chatted after the meal about why we were there, and he was keen to ensure we had a good experience in his restaurant. Recommended

A five minute walk from the station at Highbury & Islington this is a lovely place to eat. Pleasant decor and staff give just the 'right' amount of attention. Drinks and food are very reasonably priced. We had four diferent main courses and they were all delicious. There is a wide menu choice so it would be easy to return on other occasions for a different tasting experience. I am sure that if we lived in the area we would make further visits to Memsaab and take others with us as it would not disappoint.

Delicious curries! However, it took a long time for the food to arrive and the staff weren’t overly attentive - had to ask multiple time to take our order, then ask for plates, glasses etc, waited 1.5 hours for food to arrive

We came here on a Saturday night after hearing it mentioned on Ed Gambles Off Menu podcast (Tim Keys episode) and we were not disappointed! All of our dishes were delicious and the waiting staff were super friendly and efficient with our food. The only thing that could have made our experience any better would have been a bit of ambient background music but other than that 10/10!

A fantastic neighbourhood curry stalwart. My friends and I recently met up for a revival of our curry club. The night initially started at a gentle pace with cobras and poppadoms flowing. If I’m honest, mains took a while to come out but this additional time was spent in great conversation. Any reservations about the dining experience quickly disappeared as the quality of food was the star of the night. Fish tank is a nice touch, if you call ahead they can organise a table of up to four people sitting next to it. Overall I would highly recommend. Give it a try.

My dishes were sweet in a way I’ve never encountered before. When I asked the manager about it, he claimed that I ordered the creamy dishes, which were inherently sweet. Definitely skip unless you love your food slathered in sugar and management refusing to take responsibility.

When I went some time back I got a really lovely meal which I believe is still the case but have not gone back as I had too many expenses of late but will still keep it on the books as I have had in the past a lot of meals there which were very well cooked and much nicer than other Indian restaurants.

Ordered Memsaab for the first time tonight, food was phenomenal! Best Indian I have had in years. Delicious with loads of flavour good portion sizes will be ordering again

Good selection of food, and the main meals were good quality. Poppadoms didn’t seem too fresh/not very crisp. The waiter seemed very flustered about making sure the table was pushed in for people to get by, even though the restaurant was empty and already well into dinner service. From arrival to mains coming was 90 minutes which is far too long really. We all left happy, but I wouldn’t rush to return

We friends had several visit and Wonderful time there. Absolute friendly staffs and unique taste of cuisines. Nice and cosy environment with mild songs. Highly recommended.

There were 8 of us at the table. We had all been acting in or involved in the same play. We were really well served. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were VERY patient with us even though we stayed quite late. In fact they said they had enjoyed serving our group. One of our group remarked also how peaceful the restaurant was. And she loved that too. The actors came from all over London and I reckon that they will be back!

My son and I visited for dinner. We were warmly welcomed, received excellent service throughout despite the restaurant being particularly busy with deliveries. The menu was wide ranging and food excellent.

I took my friend on Friday and returned on Sunday as the food was so good. They catered to my current dietary requirements and the food was delicious, well done Memsaab.

Ive just moved to the area and last night my friend and I gave this place a go. I had such a nice evening. Very friendly staff, warm and welcoming. Nice atmotphere. Also had onion bhajis, again cooked brilliantly. The wine was very ressonably priced and a good selection. I totally recommend this place. cant wait to go back. Well done Memsaab

Booked after reading reviews was down in London for 40th belated birthday celebrations and was looking for a nice Indian well what can I say such a disappointment and ruined our evening plans. We booked a table for 7.30pm early enough so we could leave and go into central London for drinks. Anyway the restaurant wasn’t actually that busy inside only a handful of tables so I expected service to be attentive and fast. Well hour and half later we were still waiting for our main courses at 9pm just about to get up and leave the food arrived. The food itself wasn’t bad but after waiting that long was no longer hungry. The wait was due to the restaurant and kitchen making their takeaways their main priority the number of deliveroo drivers etc that turned up and came in was ridiculous. The was a member of staff possibly the manager running around in scruffy jeans and jumper clearing tables and serving food. No covid regulations were in place either. Definitely would not go back and would not recommend.

Memsaab Indian continues to deliver great food time after time. I travel past many local Indian restaurants to get food from Memsaab as their quality and service is consistently good. Throughout lockdowns they have made picking up and delivering takeaways safe and secure, without compromising on the quality of their food.Would recommend Memsaab to all family and friends in the area (and even further afield). I would also ignore negative reviews on this restaurant that a previous owner has asked a customer to leave - terribly bitter.

Been going here for years and all of a sudden ownership changes and food has gone down in quality. Previous Owner Zack has stated to me to complain about the poor standard in food and to express my views on a platform. One day ordered a takeaway only to have a curry dish missing and upon calling in no lack of empathy was shown hindering my custom to Memsaab Fine India Dining. The food is bland and no taste and upon confiding in the previous owner he stated that it’s due to the new chef and new owner having no sense of leadership. It seems everyone is at war and we customers have to pay dearly!!!!!

Me and my family eat in and order from this Indian regularly, tonight we received our food after one and a half hours. The food had no flavour was under cooked! Had to stop eating it because it made us feel ill, would not order or return again.memsaab under new management don't order this restaurant please

The chef has changed and the food is now not authentic INDIAN at all. The menu has changed completely and you won’t find any of the dishes you expect at an Indian restaurant. The staff is not very good at service either anymore. Very disappointed. Food is too much salt and hot I don't go again I give now 0 star

La comida era tan terrible que mi perro no comía las sobras y normalmente come cualquier cosa. el arroz estaba duro y masticable, los nanopanes insípidos, el pollo duro como una roca, sin verduras en el curry, la salsa parecía tu peor diaorea y tenía un sabor similar, el entrante de cebolla bhaji estaba bien pero la salsa de menta parecía una tarrina de esperma rancio, no lo probé. los popadoms sabían como si estuvieran cocidos en aceite rancio, toda la comida era repugnante. no tenía tema asiático o indio. fue la peor comida para llevar que nuestra familia ha comido, nunca volvería incluso si fuera gratis. km va a llamar e informar a los estándares comerciales. por el bienestar de los demás, estas personas deben ser detenidas. Me siento muy raro escribiendo esto, nunca dejé reseña de mi vida en ningún lado, sentí esto necesario, pienso en tu familia, prueba en otro lado. El personal nos recibió con una sonrisa amistosa, que fue un tema constante durante toda la tarde.A diferencia de las otras personas en nuestro grupo de cuatro personas, no tengo experiencia con la comida india, por lo que el camarero fue muy paciente y me ayudó a elegir un entrante y un plato principal que me convenga. Los otros que saben más sobre las opciones fueron rápidamente ayudados y la orden fue tomada y entregada de manera no apresurada pero oportuna. Wide menu selection and our choices were delicious, and just right, without too much oil, as served in some Indian restaurants. Reasonable prices, friendly helpful staff. Located 800m from Highbury & Islington station in quiet street. We have been before, and will certainly go again.

Great food, more modern and less well shall I say greasy than other Indians. Food light and delicate and packed with flavour. Better than many along Upper Street. Always go there when possible and quite airy and big.

Food and portion size perfect. Only downside was the delivery man saying that he wouldn’t deliver to our 2nd floor flat for “insurance” reasons because there’s no lift!! He did actually deliver in the end.

We go in there before every Arsenal home game and the food is terrific, had the Salmon Grill last home game on the waiter's recommendation, lovely, service is great, would recommend it every time. Will be there tomorrow as it's a Europa League game

We did take-out from here. The food was very good. Portions were small in size, but the prices were very reasonable. We had curry, Saag and naan and it was all very tasty and well seasoned.

The food here is good rather than exceptional but nevertheless I shall return. Slightly off the beaten track the restaurant is smartly furnished in modern style if a little unadventurous. There is the usual extensive menu with standard and unremarkable popadoms before the meal. Chicken Jalfrazi was very good with lots of chicken breast although a little hot for my taste. Tandoori Mixed Grill was also tasty and supplied next day's lunch via a doggy bag. The plain rice was disappointing being served on a small plate that meant it soon became cold. I was also looking forward to the Cheese and Garlic Naan but it was singularly lacking in melted cheese. Service was a little slow and I could not understand this as there were plenty of friendly staff around with about 25% of the tables in use. It was not slick and this is something that could easily be improved. I might add that there is Cobra on tap which is unusual. The bill for 2, including service and plenty of drinks, came to £55 and this is good value. This restaurant is well worth visiting.

We arrived late after traveling and the manager was very welcoming. Asked us what kind of flavours we liked/disliked and suggested dishes for each of us. Food was delicious and the prices are good. Will definitely go back next time we're in London

There were eleven of us, so a plethora of dishes. I had Salmon korma, delicious and creamy, tried some Kattamita chicken in a sweet, spicy tamarind sauce and lamb achari in a hot and sour sauce, we shared vegetable bargis, pilau rice and nan bread. Everyone was happy with their dishes.

Arrived late at night for a family dinner. We got a very warm and friendly welcome. Excellent service, good stories and truly wonderful food! Well worth a visit. We will surely come back!

Comfy location, a really friendly atmosphere along with excellent service, the quality of the food was rich and tender great combinations of flavours over all had a great experience, enjoyed eating real authentic Indian food definitely going back.

Over the years I have tried many curry restaurants over time in Islington and all the ones I liked closed so I used to travel to Kent for my favourite curry restaurant, I'm lucky I chose to pop into memsaab it's amazing the food was full of flavour and lucky it's not far from my home.
