Really enjoyed our lunch @ Mel’s Diner yesterday, including my wife whose liver & bacon meal was well up to expectations. My pancakes for afters were also lovely to eat & it was great to drink tea out of a mug . Saturday was very popular with lots of people which was a good sign amongst the locals . We will return , (As General McArthur once said) .

Great tasting and very filling food for a good price. There's always a warm welcome at Mel's and I've been quite a few times now! The coffee is excellent, the cooked breakfasts are really tasty and use good quality ingredients. You can even pay it forward and help other people by contributing a bit more when you pay so they can support others in need. The new lunches are great value and very tasty. My son devoured the absolutely huge chicken and ribs combo pictured and said it was delicious. Liver and bacon is also on the menu, which pleased my Mum as she said she hadn't had it in years. All round excellent place for a quick bit or a larger meal.

Greeted and served by a lovely lady who made sure the table was clean before we sat. I had the spaghetti and home-made meatballs which was very delicious. The garlic bread was not burnt either. The only downside was how cramped the area felt before sitting, but this may have been contributed by how many people were in at the time we arrived.

We were in Crediton today and went to Mel’s Diner for lunch. What a fantastic experience. Lovely place and very clean. We sat down and immediately we were welcomed and the table was cleared and our order taken. Great menu with obvious attention to detail and home cooked food. I had a basket meal which was lovely - chips were the best I have had in years. We did not have to wait long. Atmosphere lovely - friendly. Chatted to owners afterwards - what a lovely couple and so enthusiastic about their business and getting it right for their customers. Special place and would highly recommend. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Crediton.

A relatively new diner on the high street in Crediton. Lovely welcome from the owner who made us feel very welcome the moment we walked through the front door. As this was only a quick stop off we had two coffees - cappuccino for my wife with ‘Mel’s Diner’ in-printed in chocolate sprinkles on top and a caramel latte for me. Our dog was also made very welcome and was given a treat which he gratefully received. I can’t comment on the food available, but the menu was fairly comprehensive with steak being one of the options. A table down from us had rather extravagant Biscoff milkshakes which looked fab. If ever we visit Crediton again in the future, we know where we’ll be heading for lunch. On a footnote, they also participate in a scheme called ‘Ask Annie’ which allows diners to pay ahead for food and/or drinks for those less fortunate. This is a great little business and I hope they get the recognition I think they deserve 😀

So lovely to find such accommodating people whilst away on holiday. The last day of our holiday and wanting a good old traditional cooked breakfast - which wede not been able to get previously as we were always just too late for anything hot wherever we went. We were still too late for a big breakfast option when we visited Mels Diner - but the lovely owners were more than happy to cook one for us and it was superb, couldn't fault it, tasty sausages and bacon, black pudding, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, hash browns, plenty of toast and very nice coffee - had two of everything and ate it all - scrumptious! Was made even nicer by the chat I had with the lovely lady who had previously lived in the town of Herne Bay where I came from - what a nice couple they were - so friendly and went out of their way to give me what I wanted - well worth a visit for tasty food, good value for money and a friendly chat - well done you guys, if ever ime in Crediton again - will be sure to pop in and say hello and have one of your mega breakfasts!

Popped in as my 2 boys and I wanted burgers and my wife likes it there as it has a good vegetarian menu. My wife and boys scared a frickle starter which they loved and I had the special Jamaican wings
