This restaurant is in the process of moving to new premises. The lamb kebab was very unpleasant with a strange texture, almost as if it had been pre boiled, and nothing like a normal lamb shish . Also fatty. Salad was good and very fresh. Miserable lighting and atmosphere which I’m sure will improve in new premises. However, won’t be returning

Came here on Sunday and ordered the sharing platter for two. Everything was amazing, there was even bread and dips on the house. Couldn’t fault the food or service.

Booked for a Friday evening. Everything was amazing, from the delicious food to the brilliant staff. Great selection of authentic dishes on the menu which arrived quickly. Was asked if we wanted our mains straight after starters or to wait - excellent :-). Located right next to Canons Park tube station. Would highly recommend and will definitely return when back in London.

Every Six months all the engineer meet to celebrate Christmas get together, dinner at Melissa my goodness the service is very very poor every time we had to ring the shop to get someone to come to our table to order drinks and clear our plates and even had to call the shop to get our bills. The staff they didn’t even check back if everything is alright. All I want to say is the food quality is shockingly and worst service provided especially on Friday night poor 15/12/2023 . I’ve told all our family & Friends that never go to this place to eat the worst service and the staff were not helpful. We paid the £200 for the things we did not enjoyed i hope the owner will take note and get proper staff to look after the customer

My very first visit with my friend (who has been telling about this restaurant for ages) last night. WOW!! I was absolutely blown away by the really high quality meats , taste and portion sizes … Seriously it was amazing! The level of service was incredible too.. The fabulous waitress Anna really looked after us. Nothing was too much trouble for her and her lovely smiling face and positive energy made the dining experience complete. Then we met the owner who was utterly charming , humble and a genuinely nice guy. We also met the head chef and all his team who were so happy that we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I will DEFINITELY be going again and ABSOLUTELY recommend that if you’ve never tried this restaurant.. it’s a must go to dinner..

I booked th restaurant on the basis of reviews and the fact that it was next to canons park tube. Which was only 8 minutes away from Wembley on the tube and on the way back to our hotel in Edgware! Wow, despite my team losing and 11 of us being devastated eating here provided our first comfort blanket ! Very warm welcome. Straight to table but no rush to order. Drinks ordered £5 a big bottle of Efes was a real retreat. Then the food. No starters due to the massive and lovely complimentary hot pitta and dips! The grilled mezze for 2 was a sight to behold. 3 varieties of lamb and 2 varieties of chicken....a carnivore delight! Which was accompanied by piles of hot chips and mega bowls of varied salad. Service was brilliant all the way through. If you are a hungry footy going to Wembley then this is the place for you!!! If I lived more locally I would be a regular! Fantastic night and almost lifted our post match gloom...

Found this restaurant by accident but so glad we did. Food was absolutely delicious in fact the nicest I’ve eaten in a while. Had the yogurtlu sarma lamb beyti which was out of this world. Pistachio desert was yummy too. Even bought a portion of their homemade chilli sauce to take home. Portion sizes are immense we could have shared had we’d known. Wish we lived closer to revisit. Staff were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Came over to this turkish restaurant while me and my family were around the area. Had such a pleasant experience the food was absolutely delicious and the service and staff were lovely very nice ambiance and perfect for families. Definitely will be returning not just when i’m in the area but looking for a cheeky turkish dinner.

Very bad , I eat 10 yeras from.this kebab but now they come without salam, I order chicken Doner , they give us chiken mix, I spoke woth they ,, but nothing change . Very bad

Ordered in advance , waited 10 minutes, got our food, traveled home to find there were multiple items missing from a simple order. This is not the first time this has happened. Will not be using them ever again and will be urging our friends to do the same

Not quite as crowed as previous visits but super food succulent lamb kebabs And chicken shish lovely salads bread and dips to start complimentary can’t fault the service better than most similar restaurants nearer to us we’ll worth a visit

Just had a family dinner at Melissa my goodness the service is very poor. The staff they didn’t even check back if everything is alright. we order kids chicken burger was deep fry chicken and they just put it on dry bun and they charge £7.00 and we order mix donor and chicken donor . The meat was stinks. All I want to say is the food quality is shockingly poor. I’ve told my family family that we ll never come back again.

Food was incredible great service as always, I recommend the lamb ribs and chips, the portion sizes are good.

We usually park at Canons Park and tube into the centre whenever we go to London. We’ve always seen the shops/restaurants next to the tube station when we drive past but never thought of actually walking past them and giving one a try. But I’m so glad we gave this Turkish restaurant a chance. I can hands down say it’s the best Turkish restaurant I’ve ever been to. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the servers and chefs when we walked through the door. The decor is done tastefully, with Turkish influence throughout the restaurant and the furniture is comfortable. The portions are unbelievably generous and the taste of the food is impeccable. The prices are reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food. You get complimentary hummus and bread, which is filling enough on its own. Overall, amazing food and service and I would highly recommend if you’re ever visiting the area!

Shame that this restaurant has incompetent staff working and running it as food food is generally good but I am still to order from there and get it delivered in the format I ordered there is always something wrong or missing and the only away to describe it when you raise a complaint is that they couldn’t care less so my orders will be no more as it’s just to painful

Nonsense staff playing 16+ rated songs on YouTube where my kids and elders were so embarrassed in front of us, I had to ask them to change channel or to turn it off. The food was absolutely delicious, you don't have to play x-rated songs to keep your business flourish.

Everything was good,food delicious and perfect ..the only problem is that they should have a changing room for babies

The falafels I had as my main were among the worst I've ever eaten - and probably the worst I've ever eaten in a Turkish restaurant, where you generally can't wrong with this type of dish. Whilst edible and plentiful, the falafels here tasted more...

The Melissa Sharing Platter platter was lovely, perfectly cooked meats and plenty of them. My 7 year old loved her Chicken Kebab too. They did forget our side of chips, but (1) we didn't need them as the platter was more than enough and (2)...

Have been loyal customers here be it take away of late and eating in regularly before COVID. Ordered take away for family and it didn’t arrive. When we called were greeted with rudeness and told to call Deliveroo that it was not their problem :(...

I've been to this restaurant many times and it is consistently great. I came here for my birthday meal with my friends recently and everyone enjoyed it. We really appreciated the complimentary hummus; tzatziki and bread. The portion sizes were, as per usual, very generous...

People all over the place, takeaway mobbed out with people, too. No distancing and they do not care about coronavirus whatsoever

Sadly, I'll have to agree with previous recent reviews. Food portions are halved, very stingy about salad. No more free dips. Bread tasteless and cold, service poor. Visited with family only to find higher prices but fewer portions. The lamb beyti was just one skewer...

Disappointed on this occasion Usually love this restaurant but I was disappointed yesterday having taken advantage of the governments £10 eat out initiative. Complimentary dips were missing, salad and rice portions were smaller and the meat was slightly overdone. Isn’t it the case that restaurants...

We have had takeaways in the past which were very good. Sadly the restaurant experience wasnt so good. Food was good though. Name and numbers were taken for track and trace and they had hand sanitisers which we were encouraged to use. Tables quite close together. No staff where wearing face coverings. It was first day of the government eat out and they were too busy. They couldn't work out the £10 pp off. Eventually the Manager sorted it. Will stick to takeaways.

I ordered the £7.50 lunch menu which promises a standard starter and medium size main course. The owner on over hearing my order rushed over and aggressively stated that the lunch menu isn’t part of the government scheme.. I never even asked and yet he thought it fine to cajole me about it. The food arrives and it’s a cut down main course with no chips (they’re extra) and the doner was stone cold.Why offer a lunch special if you’re going to literally beat people up for ordering it?? And then give them a crap offering which means they will probably never come back

Food excellent. Charged 3 times for the same bill. Food is excellent but very disappointed and lost the trust.

Used to have takeaway and eat in fairly regularly and we were very satisfied. Had takeaway tonight - the prices have increased considerably, whilst the food was very poor. Won’t hurry to come back when there are similar restaurants in Stanmore which offer better value and quality

Previously I have written a good review of the quality of food and service, however recently I have been appalled by the lack of manners in staff and customer service. This is not a one-off, I have visited 3 times during the 'lockdown' period to pick up take-aways. Up until now, i was a regular customer, however, based on my recent experiences I will no longer visit give my good custom here and would rather go elsewhere. In my 3 previous visits has resulted in rudeness by staff, lack of attention to detail, incorrect orders and cold food . Never again!

Just ordered a takeaway. Told to pick it up in 40 minutes. So far so good. Got there and had to wait for a further 45 minutes for the food. Got home (around the corner) and the food was absolutely freezing. If you want to wait around for ages for a cold meal, this is the restaurant for you.

its second time l have been in this restorant and the test off food same lovely and staffs very friendly l can recomend it

If you are looking for a good meal in lively surroundings then this is the place. Forget a cosy curry. The atmosphere is as spicy as the food, but if the place is to lively then it's a great takeaway.

Busy, wide selection of dishes for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. Very close to Canons Park tube station. Good for families, couples and groups. Entry to restaurant is where grill is so often people waiting for take aways but often you are seated very quicklu

We live less than 5 minutes drive from Melissa restaurant yet our order was stone cold when it arrived via Deliveroo. Contacted Melissa who was very dismissive, not their problem contact Deliveroo. We have ordered many times and that’s how you get treated for loyalty.

High quality Mediterranean food with excellent customer service, excellent value - highly recommend. The price is very reasonable, would return to restaurant as I live locally.

Ordered the lamb chops. Generous portion comes with salad (fresh and tasty) a choice of rice or chips. Pitta bread and hummus included before main. Good food, service. Meat very tender. Good value good place to eat

was given a lamb donner burger instead of a chicken one. the guy asked 3 times do you want chicken...than messed up. we travelled half hour to home and realised the wrong thing packed. called them up and was acknowledged that its their mistake. they said we shall give a free burger when you come next. past by there afer 2 months. the guy says cant remember and not sure. just ignored it. its not a matter about free burger. but just customer service

This is a nice place, very informal and popular with locals and always busy. It has a really nice atmosphere, the staff are genuinely very nice and helpful and the prices are ok for this part of the world, Harrow and Stanmore prices have become quite pricey in recent years for generally quite average food.

We had a family meal here and it was delicious. Plenty of food on the plates, certainly not shy! The salad for the table was incredible and full of colours. Wanted the bill but unable to flag down a waitress so ended up going to the till to ask for the bill.

I had lunch with a friend on Sunday for first time, food was absolutely fantastic, I enjoyed the meal, service very friendly and polite, place looks amazing clean, definitely will be back.

Been here before and as then, we have the mixed sharing platter. The food is tasty and decent quality and very reasonably priced. It can be very busy, but was quieter when we were there. Pleasant evening and will return.

Been to Melissa a few times but last night I had a dip before the starter and unknowingly a piece of very sharp plastic was in the dip that I almost swallowed which is still sore today, the manager/chef was not very apologetic so we left and I don’t think I will be going back.

I always come here with my mate and we love this place the food and the customer service is amazing the staff are very helpful and sweet I’d definitely recommend this restaurant it’s got and amazing atmosphere with and amazing vibe you’d have to experience for yourself to know what I’m talking about food was 10/10 and it’s service

We always enjoy visiting MeiIssa’s for a lovely evening meal, food and service are excellent, wonderful choice on the menu and service with a smile. One of our favorites in London, Canons Park, highly recommended.

I couldn't believe what I witnessed.

It was a good job that we booked a table on Friday night. The place was packed with people afterwards . We ordered a platter for two of us to share . The portion was massive . It came with rice, some bread and salad. While we were waiting for the meat platter , we were given bread, hummus and cucumber dip

Just got back home with my family, we had a very nice time at Melissa as usual. We are comming here from 3 years now. I use this restaurant for family, friends comming to visit and business as well. They never failed to offer the best service in London.

À reason for that title, simply because there was more for me and a mate of mine to eat.

I am a coeliac and therefore can't eat gluten. My waitress was incrediably caring and amazingly remembered not only my gluten free diet but also exactly what I've ordered on previous visits.When i asked a question of another staff member they were equally clued up.

Had a lovely meal here and we good the service very friendly and helpful. The good was delicious and fresh.

A very poor service from the staff

I go with friends regularly to Melissa’s and we always have a great time socially - catching up. So much so, I have told my friends and colleagues at the nearby RNO Hospital, about Melissa and we regularly order takeaways - ‘Melissa Special Grill’. Fantastic choice of food.

Delicious food and satisfying portions. I really enjoyed the starters and the melissa special with the bed of rice. You should definitely come and try !!!

Great food and good sized portions, however the service was not up to scratch. The waitresses were rushed, did not clear the plates, they were curt and expressionless 😑

Four of us visited last night and we were greeted warmly. Despite the many rave reviews I found the place shabby in appearance. Two dips and bread were put on the table together with chilli and garlic sauces. My wife and I ordered the Tavuk Shish which sadly was overcooked and dry. Minecame with chips and hers with rice. Too much salt is used generally. We found the Baclava very sweet and slightly soggy. For us there are many better options elsewhere.

The staff were disgusting. The chips were practically thrown at my partner, and our child. The person serving is was sarcastic. Avoid this place like it is the plague!! Full of rats serving!!

Melissa provides great value for money serving generous portions of food. Service can be a little inconsistent, particularly on a very busy Saturday night, but it is generally decent with the sometimes overwhelmed waiting staff doing their best to be friendly and helpful. Perhaps not the very best examples of Turkish dishes, but it would be hard to beat this restaurant for value. Make sure to allow time for parking if coming by car as this can be hard to find in the area.

I took my department here for Christmas dinner and we had some sharing platters, alcohol and dessert and it came to around £245 for 8 of us- so decently priced and there was so much food, the best bit is how delicious the food was! From the lamb, to the chicken, to the houmous, to even the bread which is served with the houmous- it's all so flavoursome!

Set in suburban North London, this is a straightforward Turkish restaurant serving mainly lamb and chicken dishes but there are plenty of vegetarian options. The ubiquitous Yakut wine is available at £18.50 a bottle and it is a good choice for lamb eaters.

What a great find Genuinely great Turkish restaurant good food and great service really worth visiting.

The first visit here was not promising. After research and hearing that they had improved we tried it again for a takeaway meal. It has improved but there are still areas for improvement,

I've been going to the NFL games at Wembley for a number of years with an older relative. For these games we park at Canons Park Station car park and this place is next door. The lovely smell would greet us as we headed back to the car in the evening from a game and we kept on saying we should try the place out. Finally this month we walked in and had a sit-down meal. Glad we finally took the plunge! (and we actually liked it so much after the Chargers vs Titans game we came back the following Sunday after the Jags vs Eagles game)

Me and a friend went for a bite to eat, it was lovely mix meat kabab,chips and lamb chops and rice. They gave salads and bread first then brought the dinner it was nice we carried the rest home coz we was full. Price was very affordable, it's a lovely place just don't sit near the kitchen the staff keeps on going in an out which they have to with the empty plates.

I went with 7 friends we all ordered and were given salads to while away the time. Everybody was served but they kept trying to give me chioe & chips whereas I ordered cop sish & rice. Eventually they realised their mistake but instead of pushing my order through they must have put it to the bottom of the pile. My friends all finished theirs and although I KEPT ASKING MY FOOD DIDN'T ARRIVE. AFTER 1/2 OF WAITING AFTER MY FRIENDS HAD FINISHED THEIRSIi WALKED OUT WITHOUT EATING. THIS WAS ACTUALLY TO CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY

if i had to pick a conventional title for this review it would be 'take the boys, not your girl'. I wouldn't eat here now that I've seen it. The reviews appeared great, the food may be good but this is a thinly veiled kebab shop with an expensive menu - something that is not obvious from the description. We saw a cook coming fresh kebabs but also a bunch in the cabinet which looked older. Given the odd review mentioning poor food quality I just wouldn't risk it with my family.

Quality of food was excellent when it first opened. Today I was not impressed with the doner meat - poor quality. It was not hot. Rice was hot but over cooked.

We are regulars in Melissa and I can highly recommend. Best restaurant in the area and always buzzing. The only place we go for food in the are. And thank you for friendly service.

Manager is rude. Thinks he is too busy to care. Wait until spurs finally move to their new stadium he will care then. Below average food too. Avoid.

The food was good with large portions. We were unable to eat it all and took the remainder home! The decor is basic and the atmosphere is more cafe than restaurant. It not expensive to eat here. For a Monday night there were lots of people.

Very rude waitress, they need to improve the way in which they speak to their customers. Rolling your eyes at your costumers is not acceptable.

My family and friends have been coming here since it opened.It has grown extensively since then as is usually full of happy customers.The food quality and standards of service are excellent. Great selection and supurbly cooked.Come and enjoy.

The last time I ventured this way there was probably the worst chip shop ever here. So I was very happy to see a nice looking Turkish Restaurant in its place. I was inticed in by the Two course Lunch menu for £7.50. Had chicken shish fresh warm bread salad and a starter I could not pronounce. Was very tasty. If you are an away fan visiting The Hive the home of Barnet Fc I would recommend this rather than a burger in the ground any Day. Recommended
