Melek Kitchen in Hackney

Me fui con un par de mis amigos turcos y me gustó que era más de comida turca para probar que los kebabs que eran tan acostumbrado a ver en los restaurantes turcos. El personal era muy amable y me encanta que tome polaroids singulares de los clientes y consérvalas en una pared de la galería para saborear la memoria; un ambiente muy relajado! Sin duda volveremos.

Me sorprendió ver tantos restaurantes turcos en Londres y especialmente cuando no era mi intención de buscar uno. Me ha decepcionado mucho de restaurantes turcos en Europa, pero esta vez estaba contento. La comida no era tan pequeña como de costumbre en tiempos de ternera moderno, era delicioso y la calidad era aceptable. Sólo la salsa ensalada no era la mía. No era aceite de oliva con zumo de limón, tradicional, pero estaba bien.

Nice breakfast, good dishes, good music, nice and warm people. A very recommended place. Enjoy it!!!

I visited the restaurant with my friends. We ordered lamb meat with Erişte. Erişte is a Turkish traditional food and made in Turkey /Bolu city. However the meat's portion is a little bit less than the other Turkish restaurants in London. Also, portion and price scale result shows that the main is a bit pricey, overpriced unfortunately. The Restaurant does not offer any complimentary starter, tea, coffee, dessert etc.. like the others. Only offered small portion salad which is not enough and not a proper Turkish type salad. It looked like a ready to eat Tesco salad bag. The good thing is mains were soo tasty, delicious to be honest. I advice the Management to add some new complimentary mezes, sides, tea and coffee that would make them typical and one the favourite Turkish Restaurant in London. This is come from the tradition and this traditon applied by the most Turkish Restaurants which located in London. By the way, the numbers of customers would be increased, would liked more by the people, i believe. Teşekkürler

Me and my partner had lunch there twice and the food was lovely on both occasions but we are not comfortable eating there anymore due to the fact that the staff are completely unaware of allergens and dietary requirements. Asking the manager/owner if the dish was gluten free he replied "Yes, it's VEGAN".How are those two related....? Not only did he not know what gluten was and how it can be incorporated in food, he also didn't know the ingredients of several dishes we asked about. It's understandable that staff/management can be unaware of allergens but that can easily be fixed with an allergen book to check when needed or by asking the kitchen which was not the case here. I was left feeling /very/ unsafe and cautious with my food with a very bitter taste regarding the lack of professionalism that seems to be part of the establishment. We ordered the fried aubergine dish and we were told that it was gluten free only to discovered that it came with bulgur and the owner/manager did not know that that was gluten. My partner doubled checked if the sarma was vegan as it was listed in the menu and we were told that it was and then it came with DAIRY yougurt. We asked the lady who brought it over if that was vegan (so triple checked) and she said that it was, only to discovered that it obviously wasn't and that it was normal dairy yougurt when tasted. It's a shame that we had to be so stressed about what we were eating to the point that I could hardly enjoy the food, which again, was lovely.

Dalston and Stoke Newington are blessed with a plethora of good quality, hearty Turkish restaurants. Melek Kitchen offers a fresh take on the now saturated 'Turkish Grill' stylee; offering traditional dishes with a modern twist. Situated on the high road, close to the infamous Rio Cinema. This relatively new addition to the Resturant scene is welcoming and clean, with light decor and a contemporary feel. Everything we ordered was well cooked and tasty, starter highlights were the halloumi in vine leaves, delicious prawns and perfectly cooked salmon on a bed of fresh salad. I ordered the mixed grill with bulgar & my parter the meatballs which were accompanied by a dreamy and creamy mash potato (pictured). Again, perfectly cooked and delicious. Really recommend this place and will definitely return next week as I'm in the area. Our waitress was very friendly and relaxed, which added to our positive visit. So come and check the place out if you fancy a Turkish dining experience that sets its self apart from the already high standards of the area.

If you like trying out Mediterranean cuisine then this is the place to go to. It's possible to order vegetarian mezzes, and everything we ordered tasted great, with attentive service. Will definitely come again!

The food is delicious, I ordered lamb and my friend the salmon (best she ever had). The owner was super nice, took our picture for his wall and explained some things about the food we chose.

I was first time here and I really like this kitchen food was absolutely delicious so fresh and atmosphere diffrent i love this place i will definitely come back !!!

Went for a friends birthday and the food was amazing. The quality was phenomenal and the atmosphere even better. As someone who loves Turkey and Turkish food I cant wait to go back again.

We popped in with friends for a little drink and a sweet bite and everything served was very good. Looking at the food that was arriving to other tables, I made a promise to myself that I would be back. The 2 minuses in my opinion are: serving only one type of wine per glass (if you want to try anything different than house wine, you need to buy the whole bottle of it). The second one: 2 out of of 3 traditional Turkish desserts on the menu were missing. I found it quite disappointing... Otherwise, great place and I'm definitely coming again, this time for a dinner.

This place is a great spot for breakfast and lunch. The veggie burger is excellent! They offer other soups, sandwiches, salads, and other yummies!

I was working in the area and my client failed to turn up, so with some time to spare I thought I'd find somewhere to eat. I saw the Melek Kitchen and was attracted by its brightness, it's character and cleanliness. It was quiet and upon arrival one woman seemed very suspicious of me turning and enquiring with a sharp 'yes'! By the by, I was then greeted by a waiter whose manor was very warm and welcoming. I explained what I wanted and he was very accommodating. The food was beautiful - I had a simple Scrambled Eggs on Soda Toast, Smoked Salmon and Salad. I was very impressed and would highly recommend this place.

I really like when places have their own style combined with the serving materiels. Melek Kitchen offers healty and good quality dining besides elegant but cozy atmosphere. I liked the stylish serving materials! About food; -You'll have chance to try traditional specialities that you cant find everywhere -Feels healthy and clean

Usually it is hard to find healthy food when we are outside with my daughter. One of my friend recommended Melek Kitchen to us. Foods are healty and also tasty. Service was quick, this is important for us, kids can't wait so long time in...

Brunch at Melek kitchen is the BEST HANGOVER CURE EVER!!!! Delicious fresh food and a very helpful staff. I'm coming next Sunday too!

I was visiting London for just the weekend with a friend. It took us about 15 mins from Camden to reach Melek Kitchen (recommended by a friend! Thanks mate!). Pampering food and service after a long touristic day is all we needed!!!!

Amazingly great food served with meticulously thought details. Staff is very friendly as well. If you want to try some very good Turkish food other than the kebab (which is not the real deal) you must check it out!

My mum's borek is finally here in London and i am soooo happy to discover it at this warm, charming restaurant. Definitely a must see especially if you live in the Dalston / Stoke Newington area. I had brunch there and 'bir kus sutu eksikti'....
