Lovely little cafe, run by volunteers. We went in for a light bite. They have a gluten free selection, which is ideal as Mrs B is coeliac. Tea came in a real tea pot 😊 Food was really tasty and reasonably priced, service very friendly. I thoroughly recommend dropping in.

Run by the Community, this is a great place to stop off for a snack lunch. Excellent homemade soup and sandwiches or paninis and homebakes that are hard to beat anywhere. Friendly volunteer staff will make you very welcome and the prices are very, very reasonable.

I was here recently and managed to fall on the steps outside. It was a bad tumble and I ended up very distressed. The ladies from the community cafe came to my aid, picking me up, calming me, taking me to the toilet and then giving me a lift to the doctors surgery then back to my car. I didn’t get a chance to sample the food but I did get a huge portion of their kindness and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

Went in past here for a coffee on the way to Aberdeen. There is car parking in the square next to the cafe but you need a parking disc which you get from the cafe. We both had black coffees, a Victoria sponge and a coffee cake all of which were ok. The cafe is small and was quite hot when we were in. The cafe is run by a charity and was very reasonably priced for what we had.

Run entirely by volunteers. Not a bad little stop to settle some hungry bellies. Not much available at 3 in the afternoon and a bit pricey for what we had but nice staff and nice village. Cash only so be prepared.

This is a super café with waitress service and freshly prepared food! Not expensive either! The ladies who work there are so friendly and helpful too! Nothing is any bother at all to them! I always go there when I meet my friend who lives in Old Meldrum and will continue to do so!

Gran lugar.

Super staff and full of friendly locals, very reasonably priced will definitely return. There is also a free library run in conjunction with the cafe. Why is it that these community run ventures staffed by volunteers are continually better than the chains that swamp the land????

A fantastic community run cafe in the heart of Oldmeldrum in easy reach of free public parking and a range of shops dotted around the centre. Based in the old town hall building this small but perfectly formed cafe offers a range of food from lovely home bakes to freshly produced lunches, a great place to take the time to meet the locals. The friendly staff ensure you'll want to return. Yes, it's small, but I only think that adds to its appeal, a great community resource.

Popped in with my wife for a quick cuppa whilst up at the Town Centre on an errand. Really friendly service from the volunteer staff and decent coffee and tea. As it was almost closing time, the food choice was a bit limited so we decided to pass on this occasion. Reasonable prices so I will definately be back.

As the other reviewer said, this place is on the bottom floor of the old town hall. I have been coming for years and never been disappointed. I was in there today to get a yummy cupcake and a fruit tea whilst waiting for the bus and the place was packed. If you get a chance to come here, you get your tea in a chine tea pot and you get a selection of home bakes. The place does sandwiches, panninis and soups which look appetising. In the summer I have seen on a good day, there is seating outside.

Situated in the old Town Hall in the Square, Oldmeldrum, the Meldrum cafe is run by volunteers who on our visit made us very welcome. The cafe seats about 20 people and although basic inside, is clean and offers good value coffee and home baking. Within the premises, information brochures are available on what's going on around the area which is particularly useful for visitors to the area. Wanting a nice cup of coffee and a tasty with friendly service, this is the place to go

This place is a good bit out of the way in the Royal Deeside area, but it’s well worth seeking out for a tasty breakfast or lunch. We stopped off on a Sunday lunchtime. As usual, it was busy. But thankfully, having been here several times, we knew to book. Saw some disappointed looking people who hadn’t. The food here is consistently great. The firm favourite for us, is there soup and panini combo. A true bargain for just under a tenner. What’s so great about it, is that the soups of the day frequently change. On this day, I had the carrot and coconut, my wife had the tomato and basil. Both were fabulous. Bursting with flavour, as we have come to expect. My panini with tomato, pesto, and mozzarella, was delicious. My wife’s roasted vegetable and hummus one, just as tasty. The service here is excellent. The ideal balance of friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. It’s a fairly compact place, with space on the ground and balcony levels, as well as decent sized outdoors area, for summer days, and people with dogs. This is a firm favourite for people in the know. But be sure to book in advance.

This venue has sadly burnt down. However we stayed at the Braemar Lodge Cabins and they were absolutely 5 star

So pleased this place was open during the quiet season. I've never passed without stopping off some some food. The staff are lovely and on my visit before this one, I was on the motorbike and I was experiencing the British summer.....sheltering from the torrential rain the time passed by quickly thanks to a friendly fella manning the gift shop and some nice food. This time I just made it in time for a full breakfast - very welcome after being blinded by low level morning sun all the way from Inverness then dodging the ice in minus 6 degrees C once I hit the ski roads. Bloody marvellous! proper sausage, the black pudding was really tasty and everything was hot. I managed to bag an extra fried egg after many apologies from the lady serving me that the chef had managed to burst my yolk twice so they put both on as an a sorry. I ordered a black coffee which was one of those espresso machine jobbies I really hate for their harshness but this was pretty god. I didn't realise they did cafetieres until the very well spoken gent on a nearby table asked for one! Next time then. Love this place, makes the dreadful quality of the roads seem worth it...in such a remote area it's a gem and the prices are good, too!
