Overcooked, overpriced, 15% service charge..Would not recommend.

I had a very disappointing experience at this kebab shop. The food was terrible the chicken tasted like it was three days old. They served Coca-Cola directly in a glass, which I assume came from a two liter bottle. The service was awful. Overall, I do not recommend this place at all.

I been here many times and food was delicious,but this time the food was below average the chicken was very dry the drinks were warm we complained didn't have our meal and left Very disappointed

Self assembly kebab. Pitta arrives in a bag, four small pieces of chicken and bulgar wheat arrive in a box, salad arrives in a box alongside 2 pots of sauce. I ordered a small but was expecting a little more chicken than I received. The chips weren’t so great either. There is no choice about the salad so it arrives with onion in it which I am allergic too. All in all the taste wasn’t too bad, but not delicious and not worth nearly £30 for two people. Delivery was very fast.

We weren't told that the menus handed out at the table were not the price we would pay if dining in. So the total ended up higher than expected. And then because we ordered a platter, we were charged per head (including young children?!) despite being told we could just get the 4-person platter at the time of ordering. Food otherwise was okay. Staff weren't rude, per se, it just would have been good to know the cost up front. But regardless I wouldn't bother going back again.

Me and my boyfriend have wanted to try this for over a year and we finally made it Although we were disappointed with the food, we tried the lunch menu and our small plates were taken away as the starters arrived then one starter was cold and the other was burnt on the outside yet the pastry wasn’t cooked on the inside. Ours mains didn’t have the Turkish flavour of a Shish you would expect and the salad wasn’t very appetising The beers we had were also warm. We went to pay to then be told it’s cash only which we didn’t have on us to then also be charged service charge We won’t be returning

ordered two wraps because I knew they were quite small, both turned up with hardly any salad in, and no sauce whatsoever. It was like eating a roast dinner with no gravy at all I was fuming.

I’ve ordered two Lahmacuns but what I’ve been delivered is grilled cheese and some hummus.

The order came with burglar instead of chips!! it was nice but unexpected..

Incredibly tasty fresh clean food, my personal favourite is the lamb and their homemade humus is insanely delicious. Always great service from Umit & Florin also.

As we were patiently waiting for iftar, I told them to turn the loud music down as the restaurant was empty, and me and friends were fasting. My request was kindly ignored. Other than that everything else was to satisfactory standard.

The waiter was arrogant and lazy. Didn’t tell us on arrival that it was cash only, they were out of stock on lots of menu items and he didn’t bother to tell us they didn’t have hummus and brought over something else that we didn’t want and or like. He didn’t check on us once to see if we wanted anything else. Saw him at the cash register handling money then go into the open kitchen and we could see him directly handling food (bread) without washing hands. Then he had a bad attitude when we were leaving because we didn’t want to pay for the hummus that we didn’t receive.

Real, aromatic Turkish cuisine. Very tasty and reasonable prices. Very nice and polite service. I recommend

I have been to this restaurant a few times and usually it’s decent. However, this time, the food was very average, and the service was awful. First, they didn’t tell us that the card machine was broken, so they only accepted cash. Secondly, they didn’t have hummus, so instead, without asking us, they replaced the dish. Thirdly, we saw the waiter doing his hair and touching food, breaking bread with the same hands without using any simple hygiene measures. The restaurant didn’t meet my expectations in terms of food quality and service.

This restaurant used to be called MESKEN and was always good.....however it is now called MEKEN and appears to have changed hands. It now has a 1* hygiene rating so beware

A great Turkish restaurant on St Albans Road close to the Watford rail station. Service is friendly and congenial, the atmosphere relaxed and immersive with Turkish music quietly playing in the background. Food was delicious and well-priced, excellent lamb.

The service provided was satisfactory, and the ambiance of the establishment was pleasant. While the food was decent, it did not reach the level of excellence. There is room for improvement in the taste of the dishes.

the food was good but the delivery was over an hour late. called and was told order was on its way and left 15 mins ago.. we live 15 mins from the restaurant and it still took 45 mins. driver confirmed we had been lied to. not good

The food was awful. You can’t call yourself Turkish serving that.

The paper bag in which the food was stored was very soggy, may be because it was not handled correctly. So as soon as the delivery man took the bag out of his carriage the paper bag broke and all the food fell on the ground on my drive way and my door step. The delivery man went away hurriedly saying he will call the restaurant and inform them, but I'm not sure if he did. When I called the restaurant, they confirmed that they had packed the food correctly by the delivery man did not carry it as per their instructions. I paid full money for the food but could not enjoy my Friday evening with family because of mistakes that no one wants to take responsibility for. We have ordered with this restaurant earlier through other websites and never had such a problem. I'm never ordering with Just Eat again.

Nice but no sauce inside and im still hungry, it says that it generally comes with chilli and garlic inside but I couldn't taste anything. I also finished it in 5mins flat ... it wasn't very big at all. Meat quality was good and fast delivery also.

This place was a last minute plan and me and my husband were disappointed. There’s no parking at this place it’s side streets. Although the layout was somewhat nice inside it was empty. There was no chef in the kitchen and we went at lunchtime. The waiter took our order and then I saw him prepare our bread and hummus. Our meal was brought to us, no one checked on us while our meal, eventually I had to signal to the chef to serve us or get the bill for us. When it came to payment, we were charged service charge like really? My husband told me as we exited and I was fuming. Bad service! Small business as such should appreciate that you have customers coming to you rather than ripping them off and adding all sorts of unnecessary charges. From now on I have decided to opt out of service charges.

The quality of the meat was extremely bad. It seem like being expired

When it first opened it could have rivalled any great eatery in Watford, however after my latest meal it has turned in to a very expensive glorified kebab joint. Starters were ok and priced correctly. Mains were a disappointment! Over priced kids sized portions, I got 7 cubes of lamb, my wifes salad consisted of 6 piecesof chicken and 3 slithers of avocado...the rest of her meal was made of over ripe cherry tomatoes, about 10 small chunks of cucumber, a few olives and an abundance of cheap tasting lettuce. NEVER AGAIN!

Food is quite good, having read the reviews. I thought the food would be a little better. Waited a while to have food. Staff/proprietor very friendly although they were asking everyone to pay by cash, as 'machine playing up' we only had card, as did another couple, both worked straight away! Paid and left.

The restaurant forgot one of the items- Halloumi. Please organise a refund for me. Thank you

The quality of this takeaway has declined. We are a repeat customer and normally order the Mesken special 2 but the meat has changed. The doner meat is now included which doesn’t taste great. The chips taste stale and the bread is not freshly baked. It could be from a supermarket. The order is not worth £42.

Chips were stale which is rubbish as they were £3.80 for frozen chips put in a fryer. Kebab was ok but for a 'large' kebab there wasn't much there.

We have ordered the meal for three people twice now and it has been amazing each time - the food is delicious! A bit of my order was missed this evening and the restaurant were fantastic in fixing it and delivering the missing items quickly. Very friendly on the phone - I couldn’t have asked for more! 100% the best turkish in Watford. Food is fresh, great portion sizes, lovely staff, knowledge of allergies (gluten free) and respectable prices. I recommend the Sigara Borek!

Delivery quick and great, Halloumi good! Lamb shish kebab extremely disappointed! 70% of the food was cooked grains and bread. No mentioning about the grains in just eat app. Then there was some salad in the box and 5 very tiny pieces of lamb. Kebab is usually safe option if sensitive to grains, on keto or atkins, opt out or chuck the bread, the rest (salad and meat) is very sufficient. Not in this case though.

I ordered from here because the last time the food was just excellent. I was truly dissapointment with the meal today. The meat tasted sour and just lacking flavour in everything. Even the chilli tasted different! What a dissapointment. Whoever the chef was on the 30th July needs to come back ASAP!

My boyfriend and I went there for dinner couple of weeks ago, the service was incredible, the food was amazing and trust me, the portions are very good, Turkish like to feed you like Italians ahahahha (I’m Italian so I know) The place wasn’t very busy, but it doesn’t matter, go in and don’t be afraid if is quiet, because is worth it every penny!

Shocking service from just eat. Order marked down delivered while I was still in flat luckily I saw this and went out in the raining weather to find the driver he was driving off and I got him to stop. I asked him why you marked the order as delivered when you have not even rang my flat bell, his answer was I could not find the flat. Come in and open my food and can see several items missing. Got photos and have made a complaint with just eat. The whole point of using this service is so food is delivered to your door if I really wanted to go out in the rain I would of gone and picked up food from the restaurant myself. Please look into this its not nice paying so much money and then not get the whole order.

Me and my mum went out for dinner here after one of our friends recommended it and it was a very good recommendation. The service was the best service I’ve had in a restaurant in a long time. The manager was the best and he was telling us how he makes all the stock freshly that morning and you could tell because the food was beautiful. We didn’t know what to eat so we asked the waiter to help us and he recommended these beautiful dishes and they were lovely. I couldn’t fault anything. It was cheap and it didn’t feel like you were sitting on St Albans Road. I would definitely recommend the baklava it’s lovely. I’m definitely recommending this place to others and I will definitely be returning soon.
