Meanwood Park Cafe in Leeds

I came with my family and two dogs yesterday (06/01/25) and had an amazing experience, service was quick and staff were exceptional, special mention to Holly who organised two pup cups for our four legged friends. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone and anyone. Happy new year folks.

On a recent visit to the cafe, I was very upset by the 'manager' who was very unhelpful and uncaring She refused to make any allowances for my 90 year old mum and insisted we got in a very long queue at the takeaway hatch because only if you sit in the cafe, can you order with the waitress. There were no tables in the cafe so we'd sat in the outside covered area. It had taken my mum along time to get from the car to the cafe then from the cafe to the covered area, so for me to leave her for the 20mins it took to wait in the queue was upsetting for her. She is partially blind and deaf. I asked if I could order at the cafe and would come to collect it later mysel, so that i could sit with my mum. The manager said no, was totally disinterested and said to 'go somewhere else if I didn't like it'. As the effort my mum had made to get there was huge, we stayed but it meant she was sat by herself for 20mins! We weren't even taking away!

Went for Sunday dinner at the three cottages with a group of friends on a very rainy Sunday. The cafe/ restaurant has been recently renovated and is beautiful inside, cozy, warm and welcoming. The service and food were excellent, one of the best roasts in Leeds and great choice of sides and desserts. We all loved it and will be back, would highly recommend. A thank you to Libby and the staff team at the cafe.

A jewel of a cafe in beautiful surroundings. The food is exceptional, staff are friendly. It is also very dog friendly. We had a wonderful time here for my granddaughters 7th birthday. I often come with friends as well for a coffee and we can sit and while away the hours with no pressure to leave. I cannot fault this cafe.

The food is decent but the staff are appalling! So rude! No eye contact, no smiles. They act like they are peeved that you are there. So unwelcoming! It felt like they just wanted to take my order so they could get my money. Granted it was a busy bank hol when I visited but the staff looked like they hated every single person in there and everyone was a massive inconvenience to them.

We came to Leeds from Liverpool and found this cafe by chance while following our Daughter on the recent Leeds Marathon, what a wonderful location with the early morning sun breaking through during our 10.30am visit. All was fine, seating Menu and order taken within minutes of arriving, soon after the drinks and meal arrived . My beauty of a wife had the fried eggs on toast ( No complaints) But my full breakfast was disappointing to say the least. Please don't get me wrong but surly one of the staff or chiefs would taste the full breakfast at some point to make sure it is up to standard. TBH it was quite poor for ( £13) not in presentation but in taste in fact if it wasn't for the selection of Sauces and Salt and pepper supplied I may have asked for a refund. Come on chaps you can do better than this surly.

Very VERY slow service. When we finally ordered they brought the wrong sandwich - we ordered a veg and humous and they brought hallumi. We are vegan so we sent it back.. ...Then they brought the wrong one again ! (Falafel this time - At least it was vegan). We were that fed up of waiting we ate it then left. Unusually, they make you pay when you order at your table - probably because you would get fed up of waiting eventually and leave! Wouldn't recommend, really disappointing, staff are useless.

The food was great. Not traditional but very well prepared. Staff friendly and efficient.Doing a great job despite the place being busy. But If you dont like crowds wouldnt recommend. Tables too close together. And packed. Parking hard closeby. Nice place, preferred having breakfast there.

Came for a quick coffee and a pastry when walking the dogs. Table service from Holly was quick and efficient. Holly was extremely charming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The owner Rob was welcoming and it’s clear to see why this venue is popular. There was a steady stream of visitors who have also discovered this little gem. Thanks very much!

I came here as part of a large group of 24 people. The staff managed to serve us all our 3 courses at the same time, and hot. Every item was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful throughout the evening.

After having visited before for Sunday lunch and enjoying the experience we thought we would return for lunch. We ordered 2 BLTS and 2 coffees. When we were served one of our BLTS didn’t show up and the waitress said she would check up on it. We waited around 10 minutes and still heard nothing so we asked the waitress where the food was politely. To which the waitress replied aggressively and told us that the food wasn’t on our ticket and had to be reordered at the till. We explained that we weren’t told we had to reorder at the till, even though we had already paid for the food, to which the waitress rudely replied “Well I am telling you now”. There had clearly been a mix up somewhere, which is absolutely okay as these things happen, but the waitress aggressively continued to confront us saying that “as you can see we are very busy”. I can appreciate how difficult it is when you have several tables to serve but telling us to reorder and reacting aggressively is not the way to solve the issue. If we had been told there was a mistake and they made a proactive effort to resolve the issue we would have been comfortable. But the way we were treated by this waitress left us incredibly disappointed with our experience. The manager made attempts to try and resolve the issue by giving us an extra plate of food, but at this point we were no longer enjoying the experience and weren’t truely satisfied with this resolution and subsequently left. Even the table beside us apologised to us for what they had witnessed, which is more than the apology we received from the waitress who ignored us despite walking past us as we left. After spending quite a sum, I can’t help but say I feel slightly robbed of my money and disappointed in our experience. Such a shame after having such a lovely experience previously.

Lovely venue, great food (tea was on the cool side), staff were very pleasant and helpful. This was our first visit and we will definitely return - a great find.

We used to live in Meanwood, 20 years ago. It would have been great if this place had been open then. Friendly staff, nice decor inside. Many outside areas for dogowners. Food and bar. We had breakfast but are going back in March for Sunday Lunch.

What a hidden gem ! Without a doubt the best roast I have ever had ! Fantastic service and beautiful setting. Great selections of cakes and drinks too !! Highly recommend!!! Will definitely return !!! Banging roast !!!!

Great quality products. Slight wait as everything is fresh so be prepared in peak time. All staff are q good mix and make a fuss of dogs and kids which is a lovely thing. Vanilla latte was lovely and the apple flapjack.... wow!

Me and my wife booked the supper club at the three cottages, the food was excellent and the service was perfect, will definitely book again, we were given complementary cocktails which were delicious. Thank you three cottages.

We had a visit to the cafe for Sunday lunch last week. The service was quick and friendly and the food was amazing. The beef was well cooked and, although a little glutinous, the cauliflower cheese, truffle mash and pigs in blankets were a very welcome addition. We don’t have dessert today, mainly due to the portion sizes, but have previously had a selection of their pastries, which are always fresh, tasty and on the larger side of normal to say the least. The added bonus was that we could enjoy this with the dog after our walk around glorious Meanwood woods. Perfect Sunday afternoon.

Gorgeous Sunday lunch! Fab selection of veg to go with perfectly cooked pork! The staff were very attentive, we weren't rushed whilst eating.
