Mean-Eyed Cat Bar Leeds in Leeds

Came here and unfortunately due to the wind on the windiest weekend we have had this year so far we lost 3 shots on our second round while we had to sit outside due to lack of indoor seating and the only response we got was not sure what we can do quite rudely and that was it not very helpful at all under the circumstances. Very disappointed for the that is usually our fav spot in town.

Went on a busy Friday night. Atmosphere was fun and music was good. Drinks are on the more expensive side if you ask me

Great little bar, could be said pricey but with the dice rolling after you've won a few times, 25% or free it works out cheap plus the free mini pizzas are a nice bonus, music's good and staff are sound

What an absolute dump. Floors so sticky that I could barely lift my feet up and toilets akin to Trainspotting.

Nice little spot, small bar but good range of beers (including their own 'Mean Eyed Pale') and cocktails, with friendly and happy staff - prices on par with the rest of Leeds but with the added bonus of rolling a dice to get your round for free or 25% off (not that I had much luck! Although others in the group did get some free rounds from it). Good music choice and atmosphere too, and didn't get absolutely rammed like the rest of Leeds on a Friday night, as it's a little out the way - but still nicely busy.

Worker was rude the one with a bald head, wouldn’t let me wait for my friend clearly had a power trip! Wouldn’t go again

Venue opens at 5pm We got there at 4:58pm It was raining heavy They had left the door open - with the keys hanging in the door We tried to enter and make them aware that they had left they keys in the door - only to be told we don’t open until 5pm and had the door closed in our face LOL Couldn’t make it up 😂 won’t be going there again 👎 To the owner - this was Friday 9th Feb and I spent £60 at manhata instead 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just came in for drinks so didn’t eat, but we had the best time! Reserved a table which was a good move as it can get busy, but the music is fab and the service is really fast and friendly. We got 25% off our bill twice by rolling the dice which was so fun! Johnny’s Marg was 10/10 and I even didn’t mind the Pickleback 😂 Will 100% be back! X

The staff were attentive, given it was 12 of us on a Saturday (6:30-8:15) it was really amazing

They have a happy hour thing where you roll a dice to get a few drink every single time you order, show up before 10 and you're all but guaranteed a place to sit/stand that isn't in someone's else's pocket. I like this bar!

Came in tonight only four of the bar staffs friends sat at the bar … music above average as proved by decibel reader so loud could hear half way up the next street , asked for music to be turned down slightly and was told no it brings customers in (no one about ) couldn’t hear the people sat at the side of me … this was after a second chance of music wars with next door last time we came !!! Left our drinks , and also not given option to supposed offers on the night. Rude staff music too loud with no customers in !!!

Just popped in for 1 on way back from Arena to my car, place was packed, girls dancing on the tables at front near windows and atmosphere was great, will come back again when next in Leeds

It was really busy when I visited on a Saturday night so I guess a lot of people love this place. For me, it just wasn't really my scene. The floor was so sticky that I literally kept getting stuck and had to yank my feet to move them. The toilets were very grim, I went to use them but decided that I'd just hold it and visit the toilets in the next bar. I really did not like the music but I wouldn't knock them for that as we all have different music tastes, this just wasn't the soundtrack for my weekend. I loved the dice rolling that they do though, adds a bit of excitement to getting a drink, especially if you roll a 6 (which my sister did!). I won't be visiting again but I can understand that those people that love a bit of cheesy music and aren't too bothered about having plush surroundings, this would be a great night out.

Great place to go if you are in the area!

Bar where you get one pizza per drink but they don't seem to have the foresight to have enough ingredients to make the dough for them. The waitress was very helpful but the manager just didn't seem interested in the fact his USP could essentially not be fulfilled.

Great time had with friends here, we'll definitely come again. Loved rolling the dice we received discount twice and ours friends did get a 6 twice 😀

The music was OK, the beer was limited, the drinks were VERY overpriced, the toilet stinks, there's MASSIVE potential with this bar, especially the location BUT the bar staff are LOVELY credit to them

No booking required but just popped in by off chance. Glad we did, this is a small venue and the dj was playing some good music which definitely helps. Could hardly hear people In my group talking but oh well. When I was drinking my beer, one of the staff members knocked mg beer out my hand and acted as if nothing happened. He cleaned up the floor of spillage. I wasn’t best pleased with that to be honest but In the spirit of letting things go then ….

It seems like a fantastic place, but don't take my word for it, I was absolutely blotto.

We'd booked for 3 but they didn't open until 5. Felt like a disappointing start to the day but it was dealt with excellently by the manager explaining they didn't open until 5 and fitting our booking back in to suit us. He rearranged our booking with no hassle and provided excellent customer service. Amazing bar to go to, really friendly staff

I understand that covid has been a hard time for everyone being a retail worker myself. But asking 3 different members of staff where my meal is at least 2 times each when I have paid over 2 hours ago constitutes a grievance in my opinion. Stop trying to make as much as possible and try give the service that you should for the price's that you charge. I am from Leeds and will never visit again and will tell everyone I know to avoid. Terrible service. I am 41 years old and this is the first negative review I have ever given. If I could give minus stars I would.

The greatest bar in the world! Banging tunes, great service! I often spend many nights after work in here and we all love it. I then booked it for a friends birthday, we had a private area, great service, cracking pizza and all for free, what more could we want?

Loved this little pub. We got a free mini pizza with every drink and we got to to the dice for money of offers every round. Didn't want to leave

Favourite bar on Merrion Street. Good selection of drinks, food served and an outside seating area. Inside the large windows can be completely opened to allow for ventilation. Used to run an offer where if you rolled two dice and landed on a double your drinks were cheaper; nice gimmick although I never seemed to win. Unsure if they are still running this offer in the current climate. Quick service always and play a nice mixture of music genres.

I was out for my birthday and met a lovely bar tender called called Beth. She helped us and honestly made us feel so welcome. Shout out to Beth. Thank you!

Always my go to place in town... the music is great and it's the best place to dance anywhere around with a like minded and friendly crowd... the staff are always very efficient and even when busy you dont seem to wait around ages to be served...

Get there between 5-9pm and roll the 🎲for an entertaining new take on happy hour.

Love the bar. Great music, dancing, and great atmosphere. During the happy hours you can get lucky and have all your drinks free, half price or 25% off (or pay full price) depending on how lucky you are at rolling dices. The place is ok big, not extremely clean though (the floor or tables get sticky at some point). Staff is friendly.

Another gem in Leeds! Love the jazzy/dusky night vibe with neon lights and smooth music. Great place to bring someone to especially with the dice game. Definitely recommend and can't wait to go back.

Semi-regular here anyway, due to the dice game for potential drinks discounts, and the free-mini-pizzas-with-your-drink deal However we booked out a private space for a birthday in January, and they were really helpful. We had an area roped off near the bar. The booking process was easy and the bar manager was really great with us on the night. I'd call the music 'rock classics' (good stuff but varied enough to please everyone), and it is loud, but we ended up having a dance around 9pm as a result and had a great time
