McDonalds Restaurants Ltd in West Dunbartonshire

Totally ignored by staff when I had to order at counter. Duty manager saw me and went and sorted Hash Browns instead. Obviously Dumbarton doesn't need customers. Shocking customer service. Go to Balloch or Clydebank instead.

Horrendous! First, the person on the drive thru didn't couldn't understand my order. They also spoke so loud and high pitched that I couldn't understand a word she said. She then proceeded to be very sarcastic speaking very slowly - of course, that didn't help her understand what I wanted. Perhaps they should reconsider which members of staff they have manning the drive thru order points - might I suggest ones who can actually deal with the public! After many failed attempts to order, I gave up and drove round to the window to place my order - to be fair, the young man at the window couldn't have been more helpful. I then parked up and waited for my order to be brought out. When it did come out, I received 2 burgers which were both missing their bread base - I'm convinced that it was deliberate after the trying to order debacle. I took the burgers back inside, then had to wait for fresh burgers to be made up. Eventually they came. I was on a half hour tea break during my nightshift, and my work is 10 mins away, so I ended up being late back at my work. Shambolic is the only work I would use to describe that experience - I won't be back!

Worked a 12 hour shift tonight so decided on a McDs on the way home wish I had just made myself something! First they got my order wrong and gave me 2 drinks which I paid for but had only ordered one ( if the girl at the drive through had not been carrying on with other staff she may have got it right) I was then asked to wait at 2nd window for almost 15 mins. Then a boy came with my order almost threw it at me no apology for my wait. Then to add insult to injury the whole meal was cold straight in the bin so I basically paid £10.07 for a medium Diet Coke ! I won’t be back anytime soon !

Absolute disgrace of a place! I phone ahead to make sure they don’t forget the 4 dips as part of my 20 nugget order. They don’t answer even after calling 4 times. Order comes and once again for the millionth time no dips, it’s on the receipt. It’s not as if they have a piece of paper to tell them exactly what to put in a bag. Stop hiring dumb folk that can’t read. Monkeys could run that place better. I try phoning again and guess what they do. They answer and put the phone down and don’t talk. I hear them chatting in background. They done this so when I hang up I can’t call back. I have the times of when they done this. Just so no one can get through to complain. Putting phone off hook! Place is a riot

We visited MacDonalds Drive Thru in Dumbarton today at 1pm and the food and service were terrible. Our 4 meal choices were not available so we opted for 2 MacChicken Sandwiches but had to order separate french fries as we could not include with meal. We could not get our drinks of choice as no milkshakes available. We were asked to drive up to the next window and wait as the chicken still had to cooked. When we were eventually handed our foodl we discovered it was not our order and we had been given Big Macs instead. We returned the food and eventually got our correct food which was cold as it had been given to another party who had returned it.

Dont waste your time getting a delivery from this useless joint. Sorry but the staff cant even pack food in a bag from an order on a screen. I mean seriously how difficult can it be. 2nd week in a row theyve done the same thing. Thick as mince.

Terrible service, went through the drive through ordered a McChicken Sandwich meal and a Big Mac, both with no lettuce one with no onions as well. I had to drive round the corner and wait, when the bag was brought out as we drove away my friend noticed that one of the burgers was missing. I went into the 'restaurant' and enquired where the big mac was? One of the staff eventually brought it over and when i queried whether there was pickles on it the woman spoke to me full of attitude, I asked her why I was getting attitude for something that was their fault, she turned and said that wasn't attitude and turned away from me. When we got home we then found out that the McChicken Sandwich was a Chicken Big Mac which my grandaughter didn't enjoy. It was obviously too hard for someone to read the screen and see what was ordered as I definitely saw the McChicken Sandwich on the drive through screen. I feel all the staff need training on customer service as at the moment it stinks!!!!!!

Ordered breakfast on the McDonald's app as a treat for the family. Order took over an hour to arrive (thought it wasn't going to come at one point) . Kids never got jam for their muffins (jam muffins) just dry muffins so couldn't eat them , also didn't get hash browns that was for the kids .so basically kids got nothing after waiting over an hour . Our mcmiffins were cold and sloppy ,I had egg shells in my egg . The whole experience was a total letdown . Called McDonald's who said it's ubereats who would refund us and called ubereats were just rude and unhelpful and told us they wouldn't refund us, to go back to McDonald's . Nobody helped,nobody cared whatsoever . Beyond unhappy with the terrible customer service and the fact my kids didn't even get their breakfast . Avoid this place ,we will never be ordering again . Took our money and never gave us all our food and what we did get was inedible . Shocking .

total disgusting experience got my order april 21 phoned as typical get order all wrong phoned they said I would get a refund she put our name in the book and what did I order. went in to get refund manger amanda said she couldn't find our name in the book. I asked what manager was on the day we ordered and she said neve and she asked her for her to say can't remember totally mortified us like we have made it up total waste of money on disgusting food and poor customer services.

This is the 2nd time I’ve either went to this McDonald’s and tonight I placed a delivery order. My food was cold on arrive and a drink is missing from my order which was for my child. Last time I went here they again got my child’s order wrong. It’s now becoming annoying that I’m never getting my complete order!!

So we ordered a breakfast delivery from McDonalds , Glasgow Road in Dumbarton. 3 times the driver had to phone us to ask our address, don’t know why because it’s on the App that we signed into. Eventually the food was delivered but the top hadn’t been put on coffee cups properly so both bags were soaking right through that the bottom of 1 of the bags had disintegrated, driver said it was acceptable and left it sitting on our door mat even though we told him to take it away. I put everything in to a carrier bag and took it back to the restaurant as no one would answer the phone, I asked to speak to a manager who looked about 18, I took everything out the bag and explained thats how it was delivered and we would like a refund, his answer was McDonalds don’t give refunds and once it leaves the restaurant it is not their responsibility BUT if the top hadn’t been put on coffee cup correctly then it is their responsibility but he didn’t want to know. The drivers bag was swimming with our coffee.If this is the way you treat customers I am surprised people go in there, I have been in there on 2 separate occasions when I have heard people complaining to a manager, now I know how they feel but that’s fine because we won’t be using this restaurant again, obviously they need the money more than than we need their cold spilled food.I left everything soaking on the counter and walked out after telling the manager treating customers like that is unacceptable but he didn’t want to know. He probably got 1 of his underpaid members of staff to clean up the mess from the spilled coffee cups and cold food after I left.

Absolute joke of a place , Home delivery , Driver phoned 4 times saying restaurant gave him wrong postcode, when he did arrive coffees were burst all over the food , told him not acceptable in that condition and too take it away , he then when I closed the door dumped the two bags with coffee running down doorstep , I got it into carrier bag and by taxi returned it to the store , where the wee kid on manager decided it's not his problem and no refund would be given 😂😂😂 never to be used again

Ordered food from McDonalds Dumbarton on the McDonalds App, food never arrived, Restaurant denied responsibility as they say they gave food to Uber Driver and refused any kind of refund either food or money back, What a scam, McDonalds took my money for both food and delivery but deny their responsibility, Are they do hard up they have to tip me off for £10. Uber no better to deal with as they say they are not responsible because the Driver said he delivered, again what a scam, pick up food, don’t deliver and get paid plus what happened to the food

Seriously…we won’t ever be back. Enough is enough. So tired of your lackadaisical, ‘couldn’t give a stuff’ attitude. NEVER napkins in the order unless you ask specifically. Ordered mozzarella dippers tonight waited 10 mins in the parking bay. They arrived only lukewarm and with no dip. How is that hard? You weren’t even busy! Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Past 2 visits in the drive thru have been terrible with staff making mistakes but not admitting to it, being so rude and trying to make us go round and reorder….even though we already paid for what we ordered. The “manager” in a white shirt is far from friendly or helpful and enjoys smirking at people complaining about missing food. No wonder his young employees are so rude. They are learning this is the appropriate way to talk to people. After realising it’s THEIR mistake, they give the food…but don’t expect an apology as I don’t think they have that in their vocabulary. People skills=0. Good luck getting your food! 👍

Really poor service and treated badly by staff. As I was instructed to join the single que by the cleaner at least 3 school children were allowed to go in front of me. I approached the cash desk and was refused service by the person behind the desk. I then returned to the initial que. My order was lost and I was number 34 when number 50 order was served I questioned when my order was. Really poor service

Hi, just wanted to thank McDonald's staff both behind the counter and on the floor, for their patience and understanding today. My ten year-old son and class mate's enjoyed a taste of freedom, ordering and paying. Although both myself and another two mum's sat away from the boy's, we witnessed just how helpful the staff were with them. Many thanks, it was greatly appreciated.

Hadn't been for a long long time so when it opened after the lockdowns I tried it again and again and it was excellent but in the past week that's twice in a row I was served cold soggy chips.They changed from the old style a few years back so that you made an order and it was made while you waited. In the old days you might remember you could go in and you would get whatever was in the warm grill compartments behind the counter so you could end up with a burger that had been in it for hours. The new style was to ensure you got freshly made food every time they actually touted this as a reason for the change. However what they do now is they start making up punnets of chips in advance and sitting them up in the grill and within minutes they go cold. Its all very well doing this if the queue is right out the door and they are using them up FAST but now they do it when it's quiet and they could be lying there for 10-15 minutes or more and because they are skinny little chips they go cold fast and end up soggy and discoloured too. So that's it I won't be going back AGAIN.....I like macdonalds when it's good it's great but these bad practices by the staff just put you right off. If you don't take a refund what they will do is make you fresh chips but by the time they bring them you have eaten your burger. I like to eat my burger WITH my chips so that's no use at all. YOU OUGHT TO LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS McDONALDS!!! GO AND HANG YOUR HEADS IN SHAME ONCE AGAIN.

I come here at least once a week with my granddaughter and whilst the service is pretty quick and foods always hot they seem to be bombarded with youths hanging around it either inside taking up tables with no food or hanging about outside messing...

Your Dumbarton branch has a real issue with youths. We’re in at least once a week and it’s full of teens who aren’t buying anything but shouting, swearing etc. This evening was particularly bad with them taking over 3 tables....shouting and swearing with young children...

Had to wait over 10 minutes for a coffee this morning at the Drive Through. No apology for the delay when the coffee was eventually handed over by a male member of the management team. I asked why the car in front wasn't directed to a Waiting Bay, but no explanation offered. I noticed a big tail back when I drove out. Not a positive experience and will certainly take it further if I receive such poor service in the future.

Excellent for a quick and satisfying lunchtime bite. Staff are always friendly and polite..it's McDonalds, what more can you say!I would definitely avoid at night and weekends. It tends to be a hotspot for the local neds / teenagers, who will come here in hoards of 5+ and order a Coke between them. Usually noisy and sometimes cause trouble. The cops are never away from this place and staff should do more to kick them out when they're not eating and disturbing paying customers.

I used to love this place before they started the "cook while you wait" service. When they started this it went downhill rapid.Went there today and ordered a classic meal large. Cold soggy chips, improperly cooked bland burger and flat coke.If you complain to mcdonalds they will tell you they don't run it any more it's a franchise and they will get the manager to contact you but, of course, no one ever does because they just don't care!£7 for this garbage? I’m ready for giving up with this place. Every time we order here the food comes with at least one item wrong. Tonight has just been too far. Usually if we ask for something plain, it still comes with everything on it or there’s a side item missing. Tonight they went so far as to forget putting the burger in my sons happy meal so all he got was fries and a toy! There’s 2 components to the happy meal my son chose, fries and a burger, it’s not that bloody difficult! Got home to a very upset 3yr old when he only had fries in his box. Luckily I had a burger that he could have instead but for a fast food restaurant who is famous for its happy meal, it wasn’t very happy tonight with half the food missing! Very much doubt I’ll even be back. The Dumbarton store is an absolute joke. At least Balloch McDonalds give you the right order 9 times out of 10, unlike this store where there’s always something missing or wrong.

If you are partial to lots of noise while eating here, your in luck, there were lots of kids sitting in for the free WiFi after buying other food from rival outlets and taking up the seating for genuine patrons. Made life hard for staff who had to clean up after them.I know it's a holiday weekend but hardly an excuse.

Visited today and the local teen boy population were in, jumping around, on+off seats + tables. Shouting, swearing and basically ruining the place for anyone else there. Not great.

We live locally. From ordering a meal and receiving the correct meal is just one shambles after another. It seriously beggers belief how they can get this wrong. In the last year this has happened to us around 20 times. I spoke to the branch manager and even she didnt see the problem. Basically they dont care about their customers. We also spoke to a worker who said they get numerous complaints about the standard of service each day. I have now complained twice to McDonalds UK about this branch. Both times received the same generic "we're sorry" email. Absolute shambles is how i can sum up my experience with the Dumbarton branch

I visited today and found it really cold, there was a big draft coming in from the door. Food was okay, service was quick.

It's not normal to take time to review McDonald's, but this is no normal McDonald's, for a start, the concept of fast food is alien to them. I ordered at the drive thru just before 1.30am and waited...17 minutes. I wouldn't mind but I hadn't ordered enough food to sink the Belgrano, it was a solitary McChicken Sandwich meal.

Seems to take longer inside since the place was revamped recently. Maybe its due to the self service screens or maybe only one till is the reason. Either way the queue seems longer these days.

It was time for breakfast, and Lo! That's when we spotted the chain's distinctive "M." We had a few of those little cards that take the stickers you scratch off the paper cups. Even better, we had enough for an extra cup of tea! The young man, who served us, was particularly helpful as we cogitated about our choices. We enjoyed the burgers and the hash browns; and the coffee was excellent! We liked the pleasant interior; and the view from the window, as we got ready for the day. Well recommended!

10 minutes for 2 McFlurry’s. On arrival I could see the restaurant was disorganised and being run by clueless people. Waited 5 minuets for my order to be taken (because was paying cash). Then the 10 minute wait started to receive my 2 McFlurry’s. On receiving my ice creams I discovered that the portion size in terms of the toppings was a lot smaller than what I have experienced in other McDonalds restaurants in Scotland. The ice cream it’s self was watery and was floating in water along with being half melted when I received it. In all the restaurant should be closed or get new management as it is being run terribly at the moment. When I was there I heard the manager shouting at the arriving customers that it was 6 minuets for Apple pies, 4 minutes for Big Macs and 5 minutes for fries. The is by far the worst McDonalds restaurant I have been in my life and I have been in 100+.

Needed a quick bite for the family, but it was not quick at all. The restaurant was a mess, and there were no clean tables to sit at. It wasn't overly busy, but the wait for food was about 15 minutes, with no special orders. Definitely in need of a change in management.

La comida era buena, como de costumbre, pero el lugar necesita un poco de atención - las mujeres wc se había roto las puertas, el restaurante no estaba tan limpio como se esperaba. Personalmente tuve que limpiar mi mesa con pañuelos.

Stopped with a work colleague for a tea and a coffee. Over ten minutes from ordering to receiving them. But ridiculous. The drinks were fine but the wait was a bit of a pisstake. So much for fast food ☕️

Popped along to McDonalds to save cooking and the food was fab. Mozzarella dippers with salsa sauce were amazing, 3 good sized sticks full of cheese and a slightly spicy salsa dip, mmmmmmm...... Cheese burgers and Big Mac were all piping hot and it was topped off with great drive thru service. Nice friendly girl taking the orders and pleasant young man who apologised for the delay. The dippers were well worth the short wait. Great meal and great value!

Dumbarton McDonalds has moved with the times, it now has a dual lane drive way for take away to speed things up and inside it has plenty of self service ordering machines.It can be busy in this McDonalds but. There is almost no waiting for your order.Helpful staff are patrolling to give you a hand with making your order.Lots of things for kids to do, tablets on tables, drawing etc.They are serving the 'Festive Burger' at this time.

Can't really believe I'm wasting my efforts writing a review for a McDonald's however I visited this one on Sunday and used the drive through. The staff were friendly, helpful and provided a speedy service as is to be expected at a fast food chain. It's due to close in the coming weeks for a refurbishment. I'll return once the work is complete and review it again.

Came in with my granddaughter firstly staff wld rather talk amongst themselves rather than the customers then we went to sit in the lower seating area & most of the tables hadn't been wiped down from the time we came in until we left still hadn't been done

Parking was ok and the place was decent and clean. Not many staff on but I was early. Food cooked fresh and for a change no shell in the egg. Food not too greasy.Couldn't get the wifi working, but could have been my laptop. Latte was nice though - even by usual standards.

As far as McDonald's go this is one of the nicer restaurants I've been to. Always nice and clean and good service.

I stopped in because I was cold and knew I could get a quick coffee and be on my way. I was right. The restaurant was clean as was the loo. It's conveniently located on the main road.

Mcdonalds is a popular stop of place for almost everyone! I always like to try the new menus and today I had the New York stack which was very good and unusual in a bagel styled bun instead of an average seeded one! The honeycomb Frappe is pretty good too - tastes a bit like a chocolate milkshake with cream on top. I would recommend if yore looking for a cheap and half decent lunch!

Went in this evening with my 6 year old son who was very tired and fell asleep whilst I was carrying him. Once my food was ready two separate members of staff kindly offered and carried my food and drinks out to my car for me while I put my son in. Thank you so helpful.

Situated near to Dumbarton town centre is this typical McDonalds. There is not much to commend or condemn about it. The pricing of their meals is similar wherever you go. The kids love it and for a quick snack its ideal as the food is freshly cooked and hot. I do like their breakfast rolls.

Sunny day which is quite a rare thing in Dumbarton but it was first time I recall the weather report being correct so a smarties mcflurry is what's need followed by a strawberry milkshake. Only bad thing is waiting half an hour to get served. The staff are trying so hard but there isn't enough working just so a company can cash in on a heatwave. Will return but expect delays

I have used this place mainly with the drive thru but have also eaten inside at times. The prices are reasonable and the food is usually served quickly. Good for a quick lunch and for familys with kids but not really for dinners.

McDonalds is a nice place to go for a quick-fix of fast food. I live in Dumbarton, so have been to this restaurant many times over the years, but I must say it has been getting gradually worse for years now.This is by no means a detraction on mcdonalds as a whole, as the other mcdonalds restaurants nearby (balloch being the closest, or clydebank) still serve the correct food, while it is still warm and fresh.Problems at this restaurant include:consistently cold friesburgers that have gone hard/cold from lying too long in the traywrong ordersthese three problems have happened to me consistantly over the past year, so much so that if it is a mcdonalds im after for tea now, I will happily drive either the 4 miles to balloch, or even the 7/8 miles to clydebank - the quality of food in both of these other mcdonalds is massively better.I'm not sure what has slipped in this restaurant or how they are getting it so wrong, but I would honestly advise anyone local to avoid this particular branch - its got to a point where you will more often get a questionable meal than a tasty one. unacceptable from a brand as big as this.what makes it even more of a shame is that the staff I have dealt with all seem very nice.

The menu is by no means exorbitant, and by the standard of the fancy interior, is actually good value. In the affectation of the age, they have course headings such as “happy meal”, “medium”, “large” and “mcflurry”. The Large Big Mac Meals are the only way you could break the bank, and it’d have to be a pretty modest bank. Six quail nuggets (£2) were as cute as buttons, small and fresh and tidy, with a portion of sweet curry sauce on the side, served in an ironic plastic tub with a lid, very Heston. For my main I opted for a tasting plate of pomme frites, a free range chicken sandwich and a smartie mc flurry. Can't fault the waiters, because there are none. The ball pit and helter skelter in the play area are quite simply stunning, the best I have encountered in my 31 years on gods green earth. Don't get me started on the balloon they gave me for free when I left, can't believe I have never been to this place before, in the words of Arnie, I WILL BE BACK.

Dont normally eat here but stopped off for a "quick" breakfast. How wrong was i. The breakfast menu is hardly extensive and the queue at the drive thru would prove they are fairly busy so why must we always park up wait on simple orders? Could not be further from fast food if they tried

I live in dumbarton and mcdonalds is great but about 70% of the food i get is wrong! I go thru drive thru and order a meal well today i orderd mcchicken sandwich then when i got home its a quarter pounder meal with cheese? How can these staff put the wrong burger in the bag? Chicken and beef are totally different how can this mistake happen? This is not first time first few times i've let it slip as mistakes happen i do work in a restaurant i know how it feels! Now i feel anytime i go there i'm going to check my order before going home as once i go home i do not want to take back a mistake that your staff make most of the time not all of the time but most! Its not that hard to put what a customer asks for in a bag!!!!!

This is a lovely wee place to stop off for a quick bite with the kids, they love sitting at there own seperate kids table and there is normally some pens and paper for them to colour or draw.

Usually the burgers are pretty dry to be honest. The good/bad thing I would say about this restaurant was that my cheeseburgers were so burnt they put me off McDonalds. The only McDonalds worse than this one is the one just up the road in Balloch.

Dropped in with wife when looking for a hotel unexpectedly and at short notice. Free wifi enabled us to find one in minutes, and we had our evening meal here - both very nice and with quick service. I was a bit confused by the floor - it was rather grubby, which (being disabled) made me cautious about slipping, but the greasy appearance was misleading and the floor was not slippery after all.
