Excellent Special fish and lovely mushy peas 🫛 😋

Generous double fish in their suppers. Chip portion could be a bit bigger but that's probably pure greed on my part. Batter is gorgeous, chips are perfection. Nothing too greasy. Like the Sun used to be in the good old days.

Had battered sausage and chips and curry sauce. Best iv ever had.

Food used to be brilliant and delivery was good, not the case on recent visits delivery takes hours every time. Food quality has Majorly gone down hill. Shame but won’t be a returning customer again.

Again over 1.5 hours for delivery and Again forgot part of order to many times now. The last ill be ordering

Nearly fought with some smackhead who decided to eat my food while they were packing it up.

Took two hours to deliver 2 suppers. Called and was told it was out for delivery. 40 mins later, no sign, told it wasn't out for delivery yet. Just sort it out. If it's delayed then fine, I can accept that, just be honest about it don't lie to customers. Food was lukewarm when it arrived. Mediocre service.

I never leave reviews but feel like I have to. I have just finished a large fish supper. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a takeaway this much. I usually leave the batter and just eat the fish but not this time, batter was delicious, the flakes of fish meat were so thick and meaty amazing quality of fish. Chips were also amazing, cooked to perfection, and you weren't given too much or too little but just the right amount. Number is definitely getting stored in my contacts. This place is my new number 1 go to take away. Keep up the amazing quality Andys Golden Fry

All you expect from a chip shop and more.

In my opinion one of the better fish and chip shops in the area. Clean and well laid out with a small area at the front of the shop for take away and a sit in area at the rear. Plenty of staff on duty at the time of my visit. A small council operated car park at the rear and more parking adjacent to the river. Wheelchair accessible. I had a takeaway so I have no comment to make on the facilities in the dining part. Staff efficient and friendly. Fairly quick service for items that already had been cooked. A short wait for special orders whilst they were cooked. The food was hot and tasty with good portions at reasonable prices.

I do love andys chippy and so so my boys I'd have gave a 5 star if they hadn't changed the king ribs a long time ago. King rib was my main chippy meal. Now I have chips cheese and curry. Staff always happy to help and have a smile.

I'm originally from Glasgow and now live on the Isle Of Skye and really miss a good chippy, I've just drove down from Skye and found Andy's Golden Fry and the food is top notch chippy food. Batter on the sausage perfect the chips perfect and aye ano it's being greedy but I even had the Steak pie and it's cooked to perfection 👌

Right Andy’s firstly love your food BUT your delivery times are shocking. An order from them can take from over 45 mins to an hour? It’s outrageous. After a long day it’s easy to get a chippy in but if you are wanting an even longer day then order a Andy’s golden fry

Missing items in my order ! No curry sauce on both chips , missing gherkins, missing one chips portion ! Will be easier if the counter will not be that chatty with other customer / girl and make sure she is packing my order correctly! Absolutely shocking service !

Had a lovely fresh fish supper there.

Mid afternoon on a Monday. Ordered large fish and chips in store. Prices seemed very decent. Was told up front there would be an undefined wait but don't know if it was because I specifically asked for Haddock. Delicious with perfect light batter and the chips were excellent. Everything piping hot. Walked to the nearby waterfront and sat and ate there. The area to stand while ordering is a tiny narrow strip with no seats for waiting and no space to pass someone without bumping them. I didn't even know there was dining seating at the rear. Unless you're eating in, I don't think you would want to be there was long, so ordering online or over the phone and picking up would be the best option. I saw a delivery go out and a pickup order come through while waiting. Another order of pizza was also served etremely fast so wait times could depend on what you order. Service was competent and very good but not what I would call friendly.

Never went in but I’m a regular customer well ex regular customer as I order from here often but never again as I gave them the benefit of the doubt but yet again food was stone cold, liked on the app was out for delivery but never arrived till at least 45 minutes (2 hours after I ordered) had phoned before and was told it was a mistake and it was only sent 10 minutes before not true they obviously give the driver about 5 or 6 orders so if your last it’s been driving about Dumbarton getting cold it’s a shame I won’t be back

Best fish and chips for miles around

By far the best chips from a chip shop that we've ever had!! They weren't in the slightest bit greasy. They were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Absolutely perfect!! Unfortunately all we purchased was a large portion of chips to go with our packed lunch. We were visiting Dumbarton for a wee day out. Certainly when we visit again we'll be sure to go to Andy's Golden Fry and perhaps try some Special Fish Suppers. Keep up the great work guys, very well done!

Nearly a 2 hour wait after being told 30-50 minutes.. stone cold food

Fish supper hits the spot every time oh and a cheeky wee single haggis to start with even better all served with great staff and a smile.

Great unfortunately long wait very busy

Was in here a last Tuesday for a meal. Very disappointed. Service was slow. We ordered a few suppers and was told they don't serve it on a plate with knives and forks anymore. Instead you are given a plastic container with wooden knives and forks. New rules. You can't even cut your fish up with this as it's too hot. Service is slow also and so we will not be going back. If you want to sit in for a fish supper, you at least expect it to be served on a plate. Not even any menus anymore. You have to go up to the counter to order. We used to enjoy this place but will be going elsewhere from now on. Not impressed

The food was excellent again from Andys. It's always very busy, especially on a Friday night, so be prepared to have a long wait, but to be honest, it's worth it.

Every time I've been in it's a wait,telephone orders seem to recieve priority.

For all the food is great, waiting 90 mins for an order when told 55 mins is not good......especially when there is an item missing and was stone cold. Delivery becoming worse and worse with every order and getting fed up of the same excuses.

The food was not to bad🤔seems to depend on who is actually cooking that particular evening, as I have used regularly it’s a bit of a hit or miss scenario, good luck Vince.

Great food. Love the salt and chilli box and munchie box. Place is always kept clean and staff are friendly.

Whilst out on our last day of holiday and mooching round ships stopped for food and was amazed at the price a fish and chip supper (£5.50) 2 sausages chips (£5.50) really friendly staff welcoming and food was piping hot and amazing next time I am up will be going back

More interested in just eat orders

Foods alright but think some of the girls need customer service training. Went in as they got our order wrong on the sausage supper online states 2 sausages and they gave us 1 with a small portion of chips. Went back in politely to explain and no apology from anyone just "eye rolls" regarding the mix up. If you're cutting back on portion sizes then best to make sure it's the same on every menu online or state to returning customers as we used to enjoy going there before today.

This was our 1st visit after the refurb, the food was good, the seating area was cramped and the service very poor. In the 30-45 minutes we were there, not one server made any attempt to clean or clear tables. I calculated our meals to be £15.00 but was charged £16.40 which means we were charged £3.40 for a portion of beans 😥 We used to recommend this fish shop but doubt we'll be back and certainly won't take friends or relatives there, like we used too.

Very Decent fish and chip shop. Stopped off for a fish supper recently. The place was pretty busy, with a big queue, but was worth the wait. The fish was fresh and tasty. The batter was excellent; light and crispy. The chips were excellent; fluffy and soft in the middle and perfectly cooked. Prices are very reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Some of the finest fish & chips you will taste,cooked to order at a reasonable price & served by delightful staff who tell you upfront how long your order is likely to take & apologise if it takes a little longer.

It's a good chippy if you collect Like all chip shop stuff it should be eaten straight away, So just go and collect it.

Always fast delivery with tasty food

Very busy night for our fish supper teas but was well worth the wait. Lovely....and will certainly go back 😁 staff were very nice too.

If you're going to cut back on portions. Then cut back your prices I don't appreciate half a tray of chips and the steak pie crammed into the other side....

If you’re hoping to have your food delivered then I would suggest you order it about 3 hours before you plan on eating. The delivery service is the worst I have ever had. What makes it worse is my neighbour was in the shop and it was empty, delivery drivers standing having a gossip with the staff. If I ever receive my order that was placed nearly 2 hours ago then I’ll be able to review the food **UPDATE** After several calls enquiring on how long delivery will be and being told different excuses each time I’ve told them to stick their food and went elsewhere. This has to be the worst “fast food” delivery ever!!!!!!

Really poor delivery service,twice now I've waited over two hrs for a delivery,each time,after enquiries,my food shows up piping hot straight out the dryer telling me they forgot about the order and panicked to get said order out!,,very poor!

Busy fish and chip shop. Queues dealt with very smartly.

Good food but you need to wait a long time. Delivery can take up to two hours and going in to place you can wait up to an hour. And that’s not even on a busy night. Save your time and go elsewhere

Pleasant staff. Fish wasn't as white fleshed as it should have been so would only give them 5 out of 10 - my dad had a chip shop and I know what I'm talking about! The batter was crispy and not too thick and the chips I would rate about 7 out if 10

Foods nice, probably best chippy around, as for service and waiting time, shocking... delivery between an hour and a half too 2 hours, even going into the shop they never take ur order while u wait, chances are if u go in your waiting half hour or so, delivery add another 1 or so hours.. terrible!

Phoned a delivery waited 1 hour and 40 minutes got charged £14.70 for single special fish and single sausage and 4 pickles and bottle of coke but never got the coke so won't be phoning there again

Excellent chips, really well cooked although the portion was on the small side for me. Sausage supper could have been that much better. Would recommend!

Going to stop using this chippy as it takes 2hrs for a delivery and they don’t think to let you know it’s going to be that long, for it to arrive and not even be warm enough to eat!! Better throwing your money in the bin!!

5:40 and no fish ready? Two brothers behind counter too busy on the phones rather than cooking. Heat cabinets are empty. Guy behind the counter is useless, too busy trying it on with the girls behind the desk. 16 minute wait for my order. When when I got home they didnt put in my pickles. Far too many staff on and it wasnt even busy. Uniforms were filthy and no gloves worn. Food was tasty which was its saving grace.

Mostly enjoyable food. Not a good idea to get a delivery though as it took 2 hours to receive. Very dissapointing delivery time.

This chippie is gaining momentum and have dedicated team of staff. Fish suppers come in a nice cardboard box. Good consistent fish suppers that cannot be faulted. Fish and batter ratio appears to be just right. Chips are really good too now. You'll not be disappointed.

Brilliant chip shop, very clean with a one way system in place and staff were efficient. The best fish supper ever!!! The supper came in a cardboard takeaway box and the portion sizes were decent. The fish was fresh with a light and crisp batter. The chips were proper chippy chips and were crisp and clean tasting, not greasy or soggy at all. Would definitely return again. Good value for money and absolutely delicious!

Disgusting service every time you order delivery it's always "an hour" then hour and a half to two hours later still no food.

Usually enjoy using this chippy but phoned up recently for delivery and was asked to wait for a minute. I waited for a few minutes and then they hung up on me I'll be using Silverton chippy from now on

Had a fish supper, a pizza crunch supper 2 pickled onions, cheese and curry sauce. It's great value for money, two pieces of fish in a supper but we didn't get a lot of chips, the staff dont say anything to you to acknowledge you've come in the shop and they dont wear masks, they only have one screen up on the counter which is as well not being there because the staff dont wear masks.
