Ordered for takeaway. Normally fine. I ordered some chicken nuggets and fish finger happy meal. When it arrived, I thought they had forgotten our chicken nuggets but it turns out they had just put chicken nuggets in a fish fingers bag inside my son's happy meal. No fish fingers anywhere else. Thankfully we have no allergies but could have been more serious if a child with chicken allergies or dietary requirements had ordered a fish finger meal and bitten into chicken!

Slowest fast food in existence, no receipts with self checkout but staff not bothered. Rude manager and they press the meal is ready 5&10 min before it is to hit there rates but cause nothing but confusion at the pick up section. Worst Mac Donald's I have been to, got dirty looks from the staff on top of that while eating our meal eventually after it was ready. I think I will stick to Greg's or KFC in future for me and all the family

We are on holiday in Southend and Food arrived very quickly. , hot and correct! We ordered table service and manager Ryan was fantastic, he’s the first person at a McDonald’s to check we had everything we needed and offered ketchup and sugars which never happens. Fantastic customer service!! All staff always looked happy in lobby and promptly cleaned tables and made sure there was always seating available. Again a rarity in McDonald’s.

So this is apparently a delux hot chocolate. Half a cup with the cream melted so even less to begin with. Asked then straight away to top it up and was told no, it’s standard apparently.

I ordered through just eat and they missed out half the order I spoke to someone on the phone who said there was nothing they can do, absolute disgrace

Place is a joke. Food always way behind schedule. Never have had fast food in this particular branch. No queues, no table service, staff always panicked by customers. Massive waiting times. (20mins or more) Why is it I can go most McDonald’s establishments and get hot fast food except in this particular store?? Massive failings which I cannot believe have not been picked up on by the franchise themselves. Time to review the ethos.

I ordered £19.32p worth of food through Mc delivery(Uber eats),it did not arrive but the money came out of my account ,I had a message from Mc Donald's stating food Is being prepared then message from Uber saying food delivered, I have been trying to speak to someone about a refund but am being pushed back and forth this food was ordered on 02/11/22.

Visited between 12:30 - 1pm, so expected to be busy. The queueing system was none existent- queues at the counter were all for orders already made, Impossible to order at a toll point. Used the self serve order boards which was fine. Waited at least 20 minutes or more. Trying to get to the counter to pick up the food was horrible. At the time of visit a customer was recognised- tv show or something? The managers were trying to be sly in looking, making a scene for the rest of us customers waiting. It was slightly u comfortable. Eventually they approached the young man, and allowed a photo with the till girl. Wasn’t impressed that this took priority over the 50 people waiting for lunch. Food was correct- no sauces, straws etc given. Why ask if you want sauce when you’re not going to provide them

Waiting and still waiting for food. Not good. Been 15 mins now. Won’t be back here. Rubbish service and prob the food will be cold when we eventually get it.

Whoever put our order together hates their job. I ordered a bacon muffin meal and what I got was a Mcdonalds wrapper with cheese spread over it a piece of cold bacon and then a bun with a chunk torn out of it and a stone cold egg. Disgusting.

Usually food turns up cold but this time it never even turned up and no one was picking up their phone. Completely atrocious service.

We have just spent £30 on a family takeaway and it drives minus the happy meal for my 5 year old son. Uber ears were as much help as a chocolate teapot so I tried calling the restaurant to see if they could assist me (as they had packed the order and therefore had left it out) and was met with ‘Sergei’ a shift manager who was incompetent as well as ineligible. And then the assistant manager Waded in who also refused to help! I appreciate that they are busy and everything else but if they can’t back up their service guarantees then they may as well not bother!! I now have a hungry and angry (hangry) 5 year old and have to order again due to incompetence of two so called ‘managers’ that couldn’t organise a p@&S up in a brewery!! They were quick enough to blame UberEats yet they packed the order!! Overall an utter Shambles and we will not be using them again!!

Food arrived cold. asked for no mayo on my burger and it it was absolutely covered. Had no response when I queried why the order had arrived late.

If a customer orders nuggets, please include the dips. This is the third time that this has happened out of four orders.

Let's be honest, the only decent thing you expect from McDonalds is the service. Food quality is atrocious (it is fast food). But I have to say, Southend High St Mcdonalds seem to fail epically every time. Incompetent staff who can't count the correct number of items (this isn't a rare occurrence either - I question if its an intentional act to buffer the franchises profits that it happens so regularly). Atrocious customer service from the management team when you raise an issue. I once called up the restaurant and was hung up on by the manager because I had missing food. If you order from this restaurant, do not expect good service or hot food and certainly don't expect to get everything you paid for. I genuinely believe the best thing for this restaurant and its team is to shut it down, and sent them all back to school. As the title says, pay peanuts get monkeys.

Ordered through just eat- did not deliver. Poor poor service. Just took money without delivering a service. Don't go there.

Can’t believe the experience I have just had from the McDonald’s restaurant in Southend (72,74 high street) We wanted to eat in me and my partner so was told to go upstairs. We was told to wait at the top of the stairs until told where to sit. The lady came over and took us to a bench, as you get to the top of the stairs go right then right again and it’s attached to the stairs behind where you sit is 4 seaters which were occupied with people. I said to the lady “I don’t want to sit there because it’s not following the social distancing guild lines and don’t feel happy with sitting there, as you can clearly see I’m next to the lady behind me.” Here response was “if you don’t like it go speak to a manager” I kindly asked again “is there -anywhere else we can sit” she then approached me very close in my face to which I put my hand in front and asked her to step back. She then started to get very aggressive towards me and at this point a manager came up the stairs. She then decided to tap the customer on the shoulder and ask her “was I getting aggressive towards him” in front of the manager. Considering there is social distance and guidelines which clearly are not being followed. The poor lady sitting down i then said to the manager you shouldn’t get customers involved that’s not fair and apologies on behalf of the staff members actions as it was shocking. we spoke to the manager and she kindly changed the seats but we didn’t feel happy as the lady was just watching us so we left. I’m so shocked the rules are not being followed and the services that was provided in this store is terrible.The lady in question is called “Val”

Let's be honest, you don't expect 4 or 5 star service from a fast food place. What you do expect cheap food that meets expectation and a little courtesy and customer service. This wasn't available on our visit and arguably made worse because the guy serving us was in a management shirt.

I’ve never had such rubbish food in all my life..served cold.Large fries were not large at all and they got the order wrong what a bunch Idiots !!!! not that McDonald’s will give a toss but will never eat there rubbish again!!!!

Very rarely eat in macdonalds but today we pooped into after a visit to the cinema. Ordered and paid for our food by the touch screen and our food was delivered to our table . Nice clean restaurant with friendly staff. I have only one thing to complain about and that is when I ordered my Big Mac I asked for extra pickles, which I never got, infact my burger didn’t have any pickles at all .. I still enjoyed the food tho so I would still return here if we are passing ..

Our grand children love McDonald’s, and so we went to the high street restaurant, I’ve got to admit this environment is not my favourite but the kids love it so in we go ,greeted by lovely staff and said upstairs is fine, arrived upstairs and started looking for a seat and found one for us four quite easily, I sat down and the wife went and ordered on a touchscreen and paid and got a number for our food to be delivered, yes delivered to our table and within 10 minutes it was delivered all there and with a smile from the guy from McDonald’s, food was hot and we all enjoyed the meal . This was a good experience and the washrooms were clean, I don’t advocate eating at McDonald’s too regularly but for cheap quick food kids love it’s the place to go .

One of the workers in Southend McDonald’s , Mike, delivered excellent customer service, was asking us if we were alright , if our food is alright , he was maintaining the hygienic conditions of the restaurant, we wanted to tip him but he was too nice to accept it and said that is his job to help people have the best experience while in McDonalds. I think he should get more praise from the managers because he is the only worker that actually is passioned about his job! I’m definitely coming back to see him in the future! He is an example for how workers in McDonalds should be! - Cabin Crew girls

Took Grandchildren to MacDonalds and all concerned enjoyed especially the kiddies with their Happy Meals. Good Value and very friendly staff

Staff fail on more than one occasion to put the correct stuff in the bag. I get that this is a really challenging feat to count three burgers or read instructions that says no mayonnaise. Manager then wont give a refund because he is a manager with no power or authority. Then wouldn't give me the item that was missing because the computer said "No!" Soninwent home to eat my meal.which came and was cold. Good job I paid 3.50 delivery through the app and tipped the driver! All winners here. I thought the "Hamburgular" didnt exist anymore!

We visited Mac Donald’s late on Sunday evening Shirley was so helpful she collected our food for us and was helping everyone never experienced such amazing service she is a credit to Mac Donald’s Keep up the good work and thank you shirley

This place has nothing special going for it. It's simple, familiar and cheap exactly as a McDonald's should be.

Rude staff, long wait to be served, usual high calorie junk food expected from Mc Donald. floors wet and slippery. The kids loved it

Sylvia and grace were serving. Friendly, chatty and incredibly hard-working. Doing an epic job of catering to the needs of bleary eyed diners. We had McMuffin breakfasts, followed by milkshakes and McFlurrys….had to be done. Toilets and restaurant clean and maintained. Will be back-if only for the staff who looked after us so well.

If you are in Southend on Sea browsing around the shops & fancy a nice bite to eat then why not pop into Mcdonalds in the High Street. They can provide you with a good selection of burgers & fries as well as other tasty snacks & hot & cold drinks & all for a very reasonable price.

Went too McDonalds was small in side waited ages too get served when got food it was cold,no place too sit all full up.Toilet wasn't that clean😬

mcdonald has improved their service since the refurbishment of the restaurant and the services is great

If i could give it a lower rating i would, believe me. I am disgusted at the way myself and my family were treated today, one of my family members had literally just put the last bite of food in her mouth and we were told to leave. We will not doing anything wrong we still had drinks and there was plenty of spare tables so it's not as if there was no way for people to sit. I always knew there was a reason that I don't like McDonald's. One very big reason is the bad customer service I will be taking it higher. One of my family members has Asperger's and got very distressed and couldn't understand why we were asked to leave, as he had done nothing wrong. This is disgraceful behaviour from a very large company. I can promise we will not be returning and we will be telling people not to go in there end of story.

Didn't fancy cooking one evening so came here. Basic food but freshly cooked and a decent amount of choice.

I didn't have to wait too long to collect my hot chocolate but the cleanliness of the floor and table left something to be desired. As usual I pour two sachets of milk into the drink, as I find this improves the flavour immensely.

Ordered on the large machines and collected my order, when myself and my daughter sat down and began to eat she noticed there were no chips in her happy meal, I took it back down and they gave me some straight away. Upstairs was not clean, food and dirty trays left everywhere, it wasn't until we were nearly finished our meal that a member of staff appeared to clean the upstairs. Later on I went downstairs to order 2 mcflurrys which I did at the counter and was given an order number. I watched the member of staff make the mcflurrys and place them on the trolley, waited almost 10 minutes and I said to the cashier can I please just take the 2 mcflurry's (I mean come on, ice cream melts) and he gave me them just as another member of staff was about to call my number!

New modern version of restaurant which means more time standing around waiting for my food and then when we get to the table up I go again to get it changed for what we ordered On the plus side it was hot and we could sit and enjoy our food but it is McDonalds so the food is generic

There are two McDonald's in the high street i would say the one nearer the seafront end is the better of the two with an upstairs seating area and toilets

I visited the restaurant ,put in my order then when I went to collect it was told they had run out of this & that so whilst they took some time to tell me this information my order was going cold.i understand they were busy but there were a lot a dirty tables,food over the seats & floor.by the time my food eventually it was cold.& a let down.There was hair in one of the burgers,a real put off.we left without eating the meal.

Visited this mc Donald's on Saturday with my family as I was standing in the cue I could see the lady who was preparing the burgers wasn't wearing protective gloves when I got to the till and placed my order I asked if my food could be cooked fresh and to ask the lady to put gloves on as I don't want me or anyone else to get ill on that the guy on the till walked over asked her to put gloves on she told him if I've got a problem sort it out with the manager he then went and the manager who walked over said what is my problem there is nothing wrong with the preparation of there food I asked for a refund as I no longer want the meal after he said that. Poor staff poor management and most of all poor hygiene it is not acceptable for any restaurant to prepare food with bare hands !

Everything as you would expect from a McDonalds. Good coffee here and had a breakfast meal. As usual nothing different just what you expect from food and staff - clean and tidy and ultra busy

A busy, buzzy McD's in a prime High Street location. Clean, comfortable, friendly and well maintained toilets - and serving the food every young person from toddler to teenager seems guaranteed to eat. What more could you ask. A welcome pit stop for parents and grandparents, even if it means a Big Mac for lunch. Excellent coffee for you and good ice cream desserts for the kids (and for the young at heart).

Don't usually go in mc Donald's there are 2 in the high st this was at the pier end . I've got no complaints about the food it is what it is after all .Its the decor what type of designer thinks a piss ridden under pass is a good look , Were no sane person would walk through let alone sit down and eat , The tables are pre-worn rubbed out look , Is it to get down with the kids , not sure when it was de- refurbishment was done . It's gone from cozy to cesspit look the MD who signed this off should be sacked

When you have finished your shopping & browsing around the numerous stores & shops in Southend on Sea & feel like a rest why not pop in to Mcdonalds & chill for a while with one of their tasty burgers & a good cup of coffee. The staff are very friendly, the food is fine & all at a very reasonable.

I know that MaccyDs get a bad press BUT you need the occassional fix & it ain't so bad ! Enjoy the Breakfast beigel in particular with a nice coffee = Cheap n cheerful

Even though the queue was long, it seemed to go down quickly, but as I got near the front I realised that that was because people were being sent to sit down and 'we'll bring your food over' was constantly being said. Finally served, I had my order read back to me all correct. I rarely go to any McDonalds but I was on my lunch hour and I didn't have long. I got back to my car to realise that my chicken burger had been given to me with salsa, instead of mayonnaise. I didn't have time to go back to change it, otherwise I would have!!

I use this branch sometimes for a breakfast.Staff polite and the place is clean.The food is typical Ronald McDonald standard and the service is quick.

We decided to have breakfast here as there was no where else open because we had arrived in Southend early. I don't usually frequent fast food chains as I am a very fussy eater, i have to say the egg and bacon mcmuffin was quite nice and I was pleasantly surprised.

Oh well what can i say its a typical mc donald fastfood,i get a quarter pounder with chip it taste like other mc do of course for quick snack is good place...

This McDonald's delivered exactly what you would expect from any other restaurant in the chain: Friendly staff. Food comes quickly. Lots of space to sit and comfortable chairs/tables. Most of the restaurant's selection from the menu is priced suitably.Tasty and well-cooked food.I would definitely recommend that, if you need a cheap and tasty eat, you visit this McDonald's!

Ate lunch here during a shopping trip in Southend. Restaurant clean, and not too busy. Small queue but we were served straight away by a smiling young girl, who actually seemed to enjoy her job - well done!! Hot food, nice coffee. In all a good experience. Will return.
