Came here for something quick to eat but that was a mistake and realised I messed up very quickly after ordering. Massive wait times with staff very slow, multiple customers complaining - at least 4 while I was there and other customers who you could see were unhappy but didn’t bother. Staff looked like they’d given up and food turned up like cardboard from where it had been sitting there. Not a good start since they reopened.

Called in for breakfast after staying at the nearby Holiday Inn. Not immediately obvious how to get to the drive-thru, resulting in having to make a u-turn in the car-park and we weren't the only ones. One lane of the drive-thru was closed off resulting in a long queue which seemed to take forever to move. Despite having our order accepted on the app, when we got to the front of the queue, we were informed that they were out of Diet Coke so gave another choice before being told that the fizzy drink machine was out of order - might have been a good idea to put this on the app. I'm sure the person who handed over the food would have thrown it at us if she could - literally no acknowledgement or attempt at any form of customer service. As for the food, the hash browns tasted heavily of stale oil and the mcmuffins were so poorly constructed, most of the filling ended up on our laps and predictably, no napkins were given with the order. Luckily this was our last day in the area so I'm grateful I'll never have to go here again.

What a terrible idea the new layout didn't get me to finish my order, which was just for a coffee and milkshake, milkshake out of stock. No surprise!! The new layout, is something that has been made better for the kitchen leaving the customer feeling like cattle. It was hard to tell, where to que for self service or order point, complete mess, as so many people in such a small area.

We visited for a quick lunch before going to the airport. I wanted to share how wonderful their customer experience manager is. He made the kids balloon animals and amazed us all with his magic! A very unique and nice experience at McDonalds!

Firstly the machines are not giving receipts or numbers And when you go to the tills ,They haven't got a clue of what to do ,you speak with around 4 people and then you might get a correct answer to ure question .But they wownt give you a number Then you have to guess which bag is urs ..looking inside which isn't good Customer service is absolutely terrible .And it's not the first time either 😆 it's always the same .

This is one of the worst McDonald’s I have visited anywhere in the world, and as an airline pilot that covers every continent. Because it is the only restaurant within walking distance of the Holiday Inn where I have had to stay many times over the last 5 months - I had little choice. I have never been served a hot meal, however I ordered it. The screen displaying all orders has not worked for weeks. A member of staff told me that is because the manager would not pay for it to be repaired. This is an all time low for McDonald’s. Please employ a manage who cares.

If I could rate this a 0 I would. I ordered a delivery and I was missing 4 mc fluffys, all the straws for my drinks, the ketchup I ordered and there wasn’t even any napkins. The food was chucked into the bags when we received the food with no care whatsoever. The quality of the food was atrocious, I have never seen such unacceptable, disgusting food ever. The onion in the burger was pitiful. I spoke to an online chat on McDonald’s and they said it was nothing to to with them (not sure how it is not) and to contact Uber. So once I did that they were extremely unhelpful and told be they would once refund the missing items even though my food was a disgrace and freezing cold, it was as if they were feeding it to animals it was such a disgrace. I am now NEVER ordering from or going to McDonald’s again. When you pay them money for your food you would expect a decent meal but I wouldn’t even serve this to a dog.

Drive thro never opens on time. Staff are slow and unless. Management don’t care and even spent more time chatting and showing off new tattoo than working. Food is rubbish. Lukewarm and dry. Ask for large drink get small in a large cup.

Popped in this morning for breakfast on our way out, older lady came over and helped with the screen, also gave us a number to have table service, after a while she brought our food over and checked all was well.after we had eaten went to sort our rubbish and another nice lady took it and dealt with it. Food was your usual McDonald’s but the staff were superb and while I value the fact that these companies give jobs to many young people it’s also great that this branch values what the previous generation’s have to offer.

This used to be my go-to location for fast food until the trio of Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat emerged onto the scene. Unfortunately now if you are a walk-in customer, you are far down in the list of priorities compared to the delivery services and drive-thru customers. Obviously, I understand why this is the case. At it's busiest, the drive-thru queue can back up as far as Sports Direct (entire length of car park) and, whilst waiting for their food, drivers seem to be incapable of switching their engines off meaning that the immediate vicinity of McDonald's is like walking through a cloud of poison gas to reach the entrance. These drivers seem to have no respect for anyone else and sometimes eat their food in the cars, still with fumes pumping out! It reflects badly on the restaurant. Then we have the delivery services - which the kitchen seems to spend 90% of the time catering to. What the area really needs is a "dark kitchen" like they have in London to take the pressure off. As a result of all of that, sometimes you are waiting up to 45 minutes for the food to arrive! Although usually it is more like 20-30 minutes, this is still far too long. The last time I was here I even heard a drive-thru customer shouting at staff to complain she had been waiting too long (10 minutes). It is not somewhere you could quickly visit in your lunch break! As the food itself, by McDonald's standards it is actually very good. Which makes it a shame you have to wait so long for it! The staff are, for the most part, quite friendly although I have witnessed them getting overwhelmed/stressed before, which is understandable. For this very busy location they really need a bigger restaurant, bigger kitchen, more staff, more seats, more outdoor seating (and outdoor seating which is not immediately adjacent to the "waiting" area for cars). So overall I can't really give it any more than 3 stars, as I simply do not have the time to go back here anymore. Fast food it ain't.

One of the best dining experiences we have ever had. I’ve spent hundreds on meals and not had as pleasant as experience as we did today. Restaurant was clean, food good and staff exceptional. Graham and Una in particular went above and beyond making our children’s lunch fun and happy. Thank you both you are a credit to the McDonald’s franchise and humans in general.

on 10/3/2023 I ordered on the McDonalds app but it put through a previous order I made a month prior, when I got to the drive thru to collect I asked the lady to change it and she did, but I never received a refund as I was told I needed to do it on the app. how do you do this? I went into the store as I was confused and desperately needed the refund - they were no help at all was just told to contact customer service, thanks Craig! I contacted the customer with the order that I wanted to be refunded and was told I was being 'ambiguous' - didn't realise robots had opinions! not only am i distraught as i was being bibbed in the drive thru but also am. or £18.27 down. i am 18 and a student £18 is as lot to me. it has made me stressed as i now can't afford my car imnsurance bill and WILL NOT BE USING THE APP AGAIN! refunf me now!

I had a bacon roll meal for late breakfast and it was fine, all good but, to be honest, I was distracted by the ridiculous customer taxing numerous staff members as to why he wasn't enjoying some kind of personal, high-end, restaurant experience. My review is actually about the supervisor/manager dealing... his patience and care to apease was incredible. With a team led like that I reckon it's an outlet sure to be good both behind the scenes as well as it was front of house. Well done sir, customer service against great odds.

Why is everyone obsessed with this below average way of eating? The Americans left McDonalds years ago, replaced by better chains and alternative ways of grabbing a bite. This particular location is not only hit and miss but too busy for its own good, creating traffic problems on already nasty little retail estate. Don’t be sad, try real food. I have not reviewed the food…. We should not encourage this chain to soil our shopping areas any more.

Have tried to give feedback directly however seems there is nowhere online that is obvious to give feedback. I just couldn't believe what i witnessed for 20 minutes whilst standing waiting for a muffin and a drink !!! ( i speak for the other half dozen of tradesman also waiting with me with separate orders) Fed up with extremely long wait times, this is all the time not just one isolated incident, I waited along with approx. 10 other "NON" uber eats customers for a basic breakfast order this morning. There were so so many uber eats orders the restaurant just couldn't cope with the private individual customers, My order went through at 09:12 and i did not receive my order until 09:33 !!!!, I wanted to leave but once you have paid there is not a lot you can do, Manageress wearing red scarf seemed overwhelmed and extremely stressed by amount of orders coming through. Serving staff all working at one slow speed absolutely no urgency about them, AT all just watching the lady in the red scarf run round however she was making into known to the others that she was the boss but no leadership, Dont blame the gentleman providing table service for clearly keeping out of her way and looking at her like she was a joke. To be honest if i was working under her leadership i would have done as little as possible zero respect. Hot drinks all pilling up, ( mine was recieved warm after it had sat on the pass for 20 minutes) Looking round the tables in the restaurant no was actually eating because again they were waiting for food. Drive through however and Uber collections all running like clockwork maybe customers eating in or collecting on foot are not as worthy of the food orders as the uber and drive through customers?? Mcdonalds should operate a " dark store model" like tescos where Uber orders are dealt with via an offsite area not open to the public, as i feel the is lack of capacity to cope with them, Not a good experience this morning and will not return in looking for something quick to eat in the morning.

Ordered 2 x Large McCrispy Meals as they were new, after waiting 20min in the queue. Got Home and opened the bag, found in each box - 2 burned buns, about 5 strands of lettuce and no mayo. The hard bit to say now is the usual crappy chips were the only thing we enjoyed. After eating, cleared up the papers & Boxes, went to empty the last bit of Coke down the sink and found a "Flesh Coloured Plaster" with the one or two bits of ice in the bottom. Tried to contact the shop to complain, phone just rang & rang. Plenty questions for this Manager to answer, bet you anything - NOBODY CARES It's a filthy disgusting place to go and for sure we never will again.

Having had to wait in the drive thru queue for over half an hour, once order placed we had to pull over in one of the bays as no food ready. We noticed that every driver that past us had to pull over wherever they could in order for staff to eventually come out and give customers their food. If the drive thru and restaurant are so busy that they are unable to cope with the numerous orders then they should stop taking drive thru orders for a few minutes in order to catch up with demand. Once we got home, the quarter pounder burger was thrown together, no matching size buns, tiniest piece of onion and no sauce. Chips were undercooked and soggy and the coke was flat. This McDonald's never seems to either get orders right, you have to wait for food for a long time and the quality of food is terrible.

Visited and the restaurant was chaotic…. Mess on most tables floor filthy and no sanitiser in dispenser . Wish I’d used the drive thru which was not that busy. Was refused to pay by cash which is what I wanted to do so was forced to use the self serve screen to order and pay. A cheeseburger and coffee took 17 minutes to arrive. Numerous just eat or similar delivery services were served ahead of people waiting which you can see in the display is the case. Food and drink both tepid when I got into my car to eat . McDonald’s needs to decide if they are a delivery service for other companies or want to serve people who want to visit their restaurant. The delivery side of their business definitely takes priority … you only have to watch the screens and see whose order comes out first. Will not visit McDonald’s again in the U.K. Rubbish customer service and food barely edible

Tonight at McDonalds I was served by two lovely girls, Rebecca and Olivia, who gave me fantastic fast and friendly service . They were coming close to the end of their shifts and they still served me with the upmost enthusiasm . what a shame and disgrace this place is , firstly got the drink order wrong but charged for higher priced drink , then fries were stone cold , then half way through my fresh hot fries , tried my quarter pounder with cheese , which was freezing , ate half of it , my partner took that back then the manager and his pals played pass the parcel with it ,the manager refused to change it and then expected me to eat it!! absolutely disgusting behaviour!!treated appallingly , 3 things wrong with a meal for 3 people , thats 1 per person , how hard is it to get what it says on a ticket and to dish up hot food, only for it to come out on the tray freezing cold! gross cheap crap! Went to McDonald’s at Southend airport Sunday at 3:00pm, lady taking the order was rude. I asked for a chicken legend meal said they didn’t have any I asked for an ice frappe they didn’t have any. Uber delivery turns up and kids food missing, other food cold, no straws for milkshakes. Phoned to complain only to be told not our problem contact uber as it's drivers error not ours. i use this McDonalds regularly: it suits the unsocial hours I work.I Have always assumed that a white shirt meant someone is in management, but I have to say having been watching for the last six weeks I simply cannot see any differentiation in the allocated roles from no stars to a manager. As a customer all you see 90% of the time are the backs of a huddle of staff waiting for food to spew forth from the god of the kitchens. They are chattering to each other and seem to be generally oblivious to the fact that they are on permanent display to the paying publicIf you want to catch their attention it is almost impossible, they walk about determinedly not making eye contact.The managers, if that is their title and role simply do not do the task. They are lost in the huddle, hidden from view, focused on packing burgers. They seem to live with the mantra that their job is to fill the gaps they identify, rather than manage the staff and the store.However if they focused on the latter, they may actually warrant their title, and make the difference the restaurant needs.

Stopped in after visiting the pet centre over at the airport and thought i'd have a cheeky Mc D's with a strawberry milkshake.Has loose change so decided to order at the till (as coins keep falling out of shorts). One server. Was told there was no milkshakes, so was already in a bad mood and the heat inside there did not help.Proceeded to order a Quarter pounder MEAL, with some sugar free drink and a double cheese burger... Order No 02.Waited around for ages as it was obviously busy and slow staff.Eventually got my order, got out quickly to get in the air-conditioned car to cool down. Back to work, open up the bag and they forgot the chips.It's a sad day and i'm hot and still hungry :(

Have been here twice now. On both occasions the service has been inefficient - plenty of staff but don't seem to run the place efficiently, consequently we had to wait too long on both occasions. Unfortunately on the second occasion the Big Macs were cold and rubbery and the chips not hot. We should have sent it back but were so hungry that we couldn't be bothered to wait any longer. Will think twice about going back to this branch.

Thought this was meant to be fast food? Two lanes for drive through we went straight to left lane as no one was in front but 2 cars pulled up and went straight though on the right lane! After the 3rd car went we hooted and got a response. Took our order then waited behind other cars to get our breakfast. Had to pull into a bay and wait again for a breakfast wrap! Surely they would have these made at 7.30 in the morning. No apology no customer service and they got the other order wrong! Bag dropped in our window did not even contain serviettes, which I needed due to the vast amount of sauce in the wrap! Luckily there is another McDonalds in Southend so if we visit again we will use that one! More staff training I think is needed!

I can't really comment on the food, ambience, value or otherwise. It advertises as open 24 hours but that is only the drive thru. Without a car you cannot order food after 2300. It seems a pity they can't correct Google's information about them - it is straightforward....

We dicided to pop here to grab a bite to eat. My wife's friend Maxine and her husband wanted us to use the drive thru but it seemed quicker to me to park up and go inside, which is what my wife and I did. Maxine and her husband, (orient), decided to try and prove us wrong and proceeded to join the que for the drive thru, on foot. As we were waiting to be served at the counter we could see Maxine and orient on the cctv pretending to be in a car. As they approached the window to order Maxine pretended to wind down her window, and we heard her tell the server to wait a minute as she couldn't hear him over her music. Once she had pretended to turn her stereo down she finally told him what she wanted. The whole performance was repeated at the collection window, except for as she 'drove' off she made wheel spin noises and threw her Pepsi maxi over orient to make out it was thrown out of her had with the g-force. To be fair they did get served quicker, but this was mainly due to the fact that all the staff in the restaurant were too busy to serve us as they wrre trying to figure out what the lunatics in drive thru were up to. Food was as you'd expect, staff were very understanding.

I have used this place a couple of times and it was a little more than adequate. However the prices suggest it should be more up market and excellent coffee. It was far from this and why it did not get the customer traffic that other similar shops get. Today I read it has closed down for good. This is a shame for the workers and the business owners but they did have an input on the final curtain. A better customer approach and prices that would tempt punters in may have helped.

Disappointingly replaced by "Edwards kebab". Lots of shiny new equipment then cost of which is reflected in the menu prices which have increased enormously but sadly the previous good quality is no more. Scrappy inadequate remnants of salad, kebab so strangely tasteless that appetites were killed before half the meal was eaten. Rest thrown away. Will NOT be returning.

In the area and fancied a bit of fish and chips so after a walk along the front I chose to pop in here. Found a table near the back and chose what I was going to have before heading down to place my order. Two members of staff on and the younger of the two served me, firstly apologising as it was table service and she didn’t realise I was ready to order. To be fair to her I’d only been sat less than a minute. She was really happy in her work, not false happy, really pleasant and welcoming. She was also very chatty when she brought over my food.
