Mcdonald's Restaurants in Moray

Credit must be given to Elgin's Mc-D's as their milkshakes etc menu's have been accessible every time whereas others around the country including Forres, Inverness - give you the famous "temporary out of order". Well-done to the management and staff at Elgin!

Ordered a takeaway of burgers chips and drinks, but found the two cold burgers had been tossed in the bag unwrapped and the soggy chips upside down in the bottom of the bag. If there is a next visit, I'll be inspecting before I leave. Some staff need retraining or the boot.

Slow drive through service when I just wanted a quick burger, after a long wait (it was made to order) it was served cold. I ate it anyway as I was in a hurry, and it was tasteless.

My last review here was Aug 2023, which was negative. We stopped for lunch on a quiet weekday to see if things had improved. What a surprise, it had! Everything was clean/tidy, inc. the toilets. Our self ordering service was followed up by delivery. The 2 members of "older" staff, who we came across during our visit, were very polite, efficient, friendly and just pleasant. My chips/fries were crisp, fresh and actually hot! The hottest ever! This is a McDonald's first! My nuggets and "Chicken Big Mac" were fresh, crisp and a delight. What a turnaround and I hope this standard sustains. I had to give it a mention where praise is due. A most enjoyable pit-stop.

I don't expect a lot from drive thru fast food places, but it is minimal for food to be heated. We went no further than the carpark to eat it, but our burgers weren't just tepid but were completely cold which must surely be a H&S issue. Neither meal felt safe to eat so we had to throw them away uneaten. There was a queue in the restaurant and neither email address to use or phone number to ring, so no opportunity to complain without joining the very slow drive thru queue once again. I had a similar experience here four years ago but visited again in the hope that this branch had been pulled into line with the others worldwide. It hasn't!

food is normally edible, tried the toffee apple ice cream asked for no sauce but was given sauce anyway! never try the toffee apple it’s vile🤢🤢

This is the worst McDonalds restaurant in Scotland . This restaurant never fails to disappoint . You can not blame the young staff . This is the franchise/owners issue. Food is often warm not hot. Order ice cream at the drive through and guaranteed to have to wait ten minutes for your hot food. Ten minutes is an accurate time not a estimate. No point complaining directly to the on duty mangers as they say they complain to their boss too about lack of staff and issues . This store has the monopoly on McDonalds in Moray . Funny how other stores across Scotland get it right. Money keeps rolling in and profits will be decent so who cares if customers get a good service.

been in this McDonalds twice never any problem whent In Tue 3.10.23 morning for my breakfast abt 8.30 on entering was a very nasty smell which think was toilet and the floor was boging could see all footsteps in the floor and sauce stains were dry so not fresh because of that I never purchased any food just a latte dont know wot smell was but put me off

Because half the restaurant was closed off on our arrival at 8.40pm on a Wednesday, having been cleaned/floor washed, we had to sit at the window stools (as the place was packed). Not a lot of space, hunched over, window licking! I ordered a McCrispy meal, which arrived quite quickly via a polite member of staff. The crispy burger was warm-ish. Should've been called a McCrappy meal, as my medium/"tiny" fries were pasty white and luke warm. Utter garbage care, pride and attention by the producer of them behind the counter. It oozed of not botheredness by this restaurant. The cheek to charge the amount of over £5 for this meal 😤. A shocker visit!

Ridiculously rude staff caught the tail end of a big argument between a supervisor and a staff member no wonder why the quality of the food is bad. The way they treat there staff is shocking

We go to McDonald's at least once a week and was VERY disappointed with our visit tonight. The restaurant didn't have 3 items of the 4 that we wanted to order. Take note!! Don't have items advertised when you've ran out! Turn out notice boards or go old school, put a note up saying what you're out of.

I found 2 large bones in my filet o fish. Disappointed. I have not complained before but have had a plain big tasty after ordering a regular one, forgotten chicken nuggets, and now this.

a worker called Jamie was very disrespectful multiple times. Took drinks away without even asking and weren’t even done. Was accused of not ordering food so took our number away when i ordered my oreo mcflurry.

Ordered the steak stack via drive through told to go to car park and wait. Order arrived within 10 minutes. Drove to nearby car park then both burgers did not contain onions, cheese slices and very little pepper sauce. Oh well what did I expect for £13

They got 3 stars for the fact I had to wait 14 mins after I received food while going threw drive threw! Not acceptable when you order hot food and have to wait for your cold drinks

I’m so sick of the Elgin branch giving me a medium size portion of chips when I ask for large they don’t fill the container to the top if I pay for large then give me large!!!!!! And fix your ice machine as it’s constantly broken!!!

I ordered a plant based burger which took a lifetime to appear. It was cold, the chips were ok. Something we noticed in the kitchen none of the staff wore gloves. They had their bare hands on the salad and then squeezed everything down to flatten the burgers. Hygiene is not impossible to them.

Was with a couples mates highly disappointed in the way I was spoken to I asked for tomato sauce as she said okay whilst rolling her eyes she came back with sweet curry yeah people make mistakes but she was rude overall so when I said can I get tomato sauce again didnt bring up the fact she gave the wrong sauce no no no rude again said thanks blanked me n rolled her eyes. I went for a drive through with my friends, all was going well until window 2. We were greeted by an angry grumpy man with a tie, called ROSS. He was very rude and abrupt, he threw our purchases at my friend violently and then ignored her as she requested sauce twice. He then threatened to ban us from the facility as a straw was dropped on the passing of the food from the window to the car, and we were unable to leave our vehicle to pick it up as it was a tight drive through. My wife and I have used this McDonalds On a number of occasions and have always received good service and good hot food but on this visit we were sadly let down. We used the drive thru as we were only having coffee and my wife was having a quick hash brown. No complaints about the coffee but the hash brown was stone cold. I returned with the offending item which was replaced and sincere apologies given by a friendly member of staff. On opening the bag imagine the surprise to find almost the same problem. I did notice a line of hash browns under warming lamps but there is an obvious problem with this. Are they sitting too long? Are they being cooked long enough before going under the lamp? Would be happy to see management comments to this post please. I did not return the second portion but perhaps I should have instead of dropping it in the bin.

Visited this McDonalds last night during our move from Norfolk to Moray.

We go there pretty much everyday from Lossiemouth which is 5 miles away from Macdonald just to have the frappe unfortunately the frappe machine is not working more then 2 days a week, if you ask a member of staff the answer is machine is not working, 10min later if you ask a different member of staff the answer is different the machines is off for cleaning, I spoke to the manager regarding this and still the same result, if you don’t wanna serve frappe then take it off from the menu so customers won’t ask for it

Excellent service at breakfast visit. Clean, prompt service, served by lovely cheerful member of staff. Toilet facilities excellent. A pleasure to visit the restaurant. Enjoyed our visit and great breakfast selection. We can recommend MCDonalds mango and pineapple smoothies - to die for.

I don't get McDonalds very often, but fancied one yesterday. The portion sizes of the chips are ridiculous! You pay for a large meal and it comes in a "large" chip box, but half the chips are gone.. so really you're paying for a large but getting a medium. it's a hit or miss with them also. The burgers are cold. (always were before) and the fries are either warm or cold. Used to think it was a good deal for what you pay, but you can tell they have really gone down hill.

Took the grandkids tonight after swimming (one of whom is gluten intolerant ), the young man (casper I think his name is)was really very good and pleasant.

Ok, we went at 7pm on a Friday which was always going to be busy; queued in the road for ages as the drive thru was so busy and we were unable to get into the car park. We eventually got into the restaurant and used the self-service facility - for some reason we didn’t get a receipt but didn’t worry about it. When the food was delivered to our table, we didn’t wait long which was great, no milk came with the tea so I had to go to the service area and ask for some. We were missing a portion of fries with our chicken wrap, but with no receipt couldn’t prove it. My Big Tasty was cold and the bacon barely cooked so I couldn’t risk eating it!

First time we had been in since the new computerised ordering system has been installed. It was easy enough to use. Food arrived quickly, the usual McDonald's fare. Clean and tidy restaurant.

A packed car park as we walked in to McDonalds for lunch. We used the electronic self service system, which worked well. As soon as we sat down a member of staff whizzed in and cleaned our table. The place was packed and the staff were excellent. The for was good / tasty. The only problem was that my Big Mac was luke warm, esp. the base of it. All done in 30 mins, then off shopping.

Went through the drive through which was fine until I got to the collect food window. Was told to park in one of the waiting bays again fine. Food was then forced through the window and the girl disappeared without a word. Got home ( 1/2 mile drive)and yet again as with most Elgin park and wait no sauces in the bag. My Jamaican Jerk chicken burger looked as if it had been thrown together with one nugget not even in the bun. Three x French fires were luke warm at best and were soft and under cooked. Could they have been in bag for a while, while waiting for the box of 20 nuggets? Very poor quality and lack of care with food preparation.

Visited this morning for breakfast, not something we often do. The restaurant was clean and the staff pleasant and helpful. Service was reasonable quick, we had breakfast wraps which were very good. The coffee is excellent. Parking space is good although during busy times it could get tight for space. The location is handy just on the A96 as you enter Elgin from the East side. Their drive in seems busy. All in all good for a snack or light meal.

Since it’s refurb in feb this year this place gets worse and worse by the week.

The worst McDonald's I've ever been to, EVER.Dirty tables, floors and overloading bins. Was going to sit in but ended up eating lunch in the car.

Service wasn't that great or quick. Staff quite abrupt and not keen to amend mistakes they made to our order. Food took far too long to be ready. We won't be back in a hurry

We stayed at the Travelodge near this Mcdonalds and went here before check in for a meal. The food was ok about standard for a Mcdonalds and it come within a good time as it was not very busy.

We stopped off here for a bite to eat at 11pm after seeing Status Quo playing at Inverness. Chuffed to find a 24hr food service open en-route to our home. There is a drive thru, but we decided to eat in. Ample car parking space.You order on the left hand side of the service desk and wait on the right with your ticket. We were served quite quickly, which was good going considering how busy it was (but I did see a chap waiting absolutely ages considering that he was before us). We were served by a middle aged gentleman who must be the most enthusiastic McDonald's worker I've seen in years! He was excellent. His manner, attitude and professionalism was second to non. Well done that man.Our food was warm and tasty. Nice clean setting.

This is a 24/7 McDonald's which is very handy as it is close to everything in Elgin and the premier inn. Me and my brother decided to take a 2am mcds trip where we found a big group of teenagers in flip flops in the mcds. Dunno how the staff deal with them but hats off to the staff the food is ALWAYS amazing out of mcds.

Well what can I say used to visit quite often before the refurbishment and change's but after yesterday won't be back. Our food was ages coming and then was lukewarm and when we asked for sugar and milk the young lady that served us produced them from a rather grubby pocket on her uniform very odd and the milk was warm.They have installed little tablet like computers for the children at one long table in the restaurant unfortunately some parents seem to think that it is ok to use these as babysitter's plonking there little darlings in front of them for ages even after they have long since finished eating so they (the parents) can play on there mobiles our granddaughter and several other children were very disappointed at not getting a go and I think a time limit should be instilled to make it fair.Staff looked grubby and totally disinterested .I have no idea who designed the decor but it is strangely disjointed I am well aware that McDonald's is not the Ritz and is a fast food joint but people are still spending hard earned money and do deserve a certain level of service .

Easter Sunday and no breakfast by 9.20am surely they should be prepared for the easter weekend!!! not run very effectively at all!!!! Used to get a friendly happy lady welcome us on the odd occasion we popped in......pity she isn't there now! Don't like the new set up Mcdonald's are using now......wait for service (don't like the self serve machines!), wait till your number is shown on a screen. Don't like the way the kitchen is easy to see now! Breakfast still tastes better than the burger during the day!

Before if I had to wait for my food I would be given my drinks and sit down and this would pass away the time. Now it's wait for the one person serving direct move to force people to use the slow machines. Then wait again for your food. They are saving money by employing less staff serving. I would bet a experienced server could take 9 orders in the time it took me to place one order on the fancy machines. But that's ok because they aren't employing a person. One thing they didn't think of is the fact you can now see them cooking. I watched the manager cooking. On his mobile swapping hand to phone to food without any hair cap. Then I watched another manager place a scabby laptop bag were they were preping food as he was telling everyone who was listening he was responsible for all the sites in Scotland and northern island

Colin the trainee and Stephen the 1st assistant are brilliant and good at serving food. Ross had brilliant hash Brown knowledge. Much appreciated.

Staff are friendly, and fairly quick. Never had a problem, food always great. Tables always quickly cleared. The lady who cleans is so very friendly, she makes each trip here very enjoyable, she always asks how you are, how's your day, she has genuine time for you. She gets my son some colouring too if we've forgotten. She's lovely. Great example of macdonalds.

This is the 3rd time I've visited and the staff still haven't a clue what they are doing. The food has obviously been sitting for a while and isnt hot. They still have not got my order right. They would rather serve staff who were working than serve the long line of customers all the way to the door. The service was slow and it looked like overall chaos.

What a lovely woman, she has been there for years and makes every visit a warm friendly experience. Result is best Macdonalds in U.K.

Any return to my home town involves a coffee at Macdonalds. Sheila is the consummate hostess, speaking to everyone, genuinely interested in their well- being where they're from and where they're going. Nothing is too much trouble and she tends to all the needs front of house in a heart beat! She is what makes Macdonalds for me! Well done Sheila - you do a great job for Elgin and Scotland!!

The food at this McDonalds is always fresh. The tables are constantly being cleaned. The restaurant greeters, the ladies who keep the tables clean etc., are lovely, very friendly and helpful. And Shiela is in a class of her own! She is great with the kids, always making sure everyone has everything they need.

Its a standard chain Macdonalds - not much else to say - the food we had was delivered on time and hot. Staff were good and the location of the restaurant was hand for local businesses and the town centre was about a 10 minute car drive away.

I had been out and about and wanted a cool refreshing milkshake, the nice thick one you get on a good day, unfortunately I wasn't there on a good day it was cool but not very thick and it was more of a slop than a shake, my strawberry tasted more like a vanilla combo.But it was drinkable.

Always good service and the food is nice and hot. Nice clean place with plenty or room and some soft seating. Balloons for the kids, and child friendly.

Awful place. Incredibly slow, dirty, Bob's always overflowing. Manege must be very weak. Avoid! I'm as McDonald's fan but this place does them no credit.

Guess I should have learned by now? Maybe McD's is a bit of a marmite kind of place but whenever I forget I didn't like it last time I still don't like it this time! Sometimes needs must, it does have a bathroom and wi-fi.
