Penrith Macdonalds is the worst and slowest I've ever come across. They get your order WRONG EVERY time. The two female so called managers are a waste of time. Doing no work while the shop is rammed and and the drive through a heaving. Laughing and joking and talking really loud. If I had of had my phone I would have taken a video! One was called Veronica did not get the other ones name. Not helping the other colleagues. People coming in to say they had been waiting ages in the car park, others saying they had put the wrong sauce on their customised burger. It's a real embarrassment. Nobody apologising g about the wrong food given out! Sort yourselves out! Get a proper manager who wants to work and knows what they are doing!

One word - awful !! 60 minutes from into the drive thru to eating food - no milkshakes - no straw - no napkins - cheese on fillet of fish - no cheese requested - soggy cold fries - funny tasting chicken - parked in grill waiting area for 15 mins - emailed customer service - no reply - whole experience- appalling !!

This is the worst McDonald’s I have ever visited, the service is dreadfully slow and the staff give the impression that they don’t have a clue what they’re doing. Plenty of customers were getting agitated due to the awful service, avoid using if possible.

Absolutely dreadful! Went in at 7:30am for three takeaway breakfasts for family before catching 8am train. Only just made it! 25 mins for three sausage and egg McMuffin meals is not acceptable . Rubbish opening hours as well. Avoid if you don’t have a spare 30 mins to wait.

Opening hours are useless, not inkeeping with the McDonald’s brand. Might aswell be a KFC. Burgers king down the way won’t waste my time here again

Not good service. More interested in go eat .chips cold ,chicken warm, ice cream just about melted took 20 minutes to get the food. Wish I had gone to the chippie. And now only open till 8 .the new one in carlisle is far better.

Bloody ridiculous closing time changed to 8pm when a week ago it was 11pm. Just in time for the summer holidays, When people will go via motorways BEFORE and AFTER 8am and 8pm. Workington McDonald’s is 24 hours and also so much faster WHEN people have trains to catch. so don’t see why this one is so awful. I live near this McDonald's and this happens everytime I go there the customer service is disgusting and I waited 20 mins for a frappe and a cappuccino.. also 3 people who ordered after me with meals got their frappe. Same happened when my boyfriend came to get food a few weeks ago. All the staff standing around looking gormless. I travel around the country alot so use Mcdonald regular even if its for a coffee. If you want a burger go else where the staff here are a liability and the food is stone cold and looks like a catapult put it together not a human.

genuine discrimination called this evening to order a late night meal as very busy with lambing and feeding same, my partner stood with cash at the till in before ten pm,total confusion people getting wrong orders number sixty-one called out no-one came at all for that order, a lad came back in with twenty chicken nuggets which were not his total confusion,four staff stood around looking gormless, fifteen minutes my partner stood at the till nobody asked for the order, i came in to see what's taking so long door locked this was about one minute past ten another young couple came in after me and ordered on the card machines one lady employee said we have finished ordering at ten ,i said we were in before ten and have been stood waiting, the manager tom came and said we stopped ordering at ten i said we were in before and we have been ignored with our order he just refused and never even said sorry, at this time there were four more people waiting for their orders plus this couple who had ordered online after me. no manners whatsoever and if you haven't a card forget it,Avoid this McDonalds at all costs!!! go round the corner to Morrisons resturant absolutely proper customer service, don't even bother to complain at McDonalds online they only accept a complaint at separate restaurant's online ,you can shove Penrith McDonalds where the sun doesn't shine!!!¬

Terribly slow service Waiting 25 mins for two meals with only one other car in front at the drive through which waited just as long, hardly a customer inside either. About 5 members of staff stood around doing nothing but chatting and laughing. Very poor and next to no customer service from front of house staff. Food came out bearly warm and missing dips. Very disappointing. Will not be back in a rush.

Loooooong waits in drive through. Get food only to find half the food is missing. Called the restaurant only for someone to pick up and then immediately put the phone down without speaking. It’s always a toss up whether you get your full order here.

The average wait times for any food, drive through or inside are 40mins+.... The staff behind the counter are just faffing around as if waiting to be told to do something. Theres no urgency at all. No one knows why they are so slow now after lockdown!!!

Me and my friend took a visit to McDonald’s after finishing school early on 20th December. We were soon asked to leave after someone not associated with us fell over near us. We tried to bargain with the manager saying that we would like to finish our food considering we were trying to eat. The manager was obnoxious and refused to let us stay. We picked up our food, mid-meal, and left. Later that day at 4pm we returned without the person who was “causing a scene”, we bought a drink and sat inside, where it was warm. The manager then came over again and asked us to leave. We were paying customers who had bought a drink so that we could sit in the warm building. Again, we left. We returned the next day for lunch, and the manager gave us a sarcastic comment, saying “you want be making a mess again today will you?”. This was clearly an attempt to instigate an argument. My friend took umbrage at this and decided to ask a colleague for his name so that we could make a complaint, as he wasn’t wearing a name badge. The person we asked refused to give out a name without a reason. This ruined the experience of being here for the past two days and I wasn’t happy about this. However I would like to mention that Reuben made our day and he is the most polite, outgoing and enthusiastic member of the team. He is the only reason that we have decided to give more than one star.

Friends and I have been kicked out 3 times in two days for 1 incident that was accidental where my friend fell over onto someone’s table. Before this happened we had all bought food and finished and were sat talking. Manager came and said we needed to get something each or we couldn’t sit there. My friend then fell and we all got kicked out. Came later without that friend and got kicked out again. Then came again this morning and whilst waiting for my food the same manager came across and made a sarcastic comment about us “surprised your buying food today”. I then asked the other manager for his name and refused to give me it after the one who incited the incident shouted at me and a friend.

Called in at McDonald’s penrith drive through and oh dear not one staff member we served with had a smile or even looked happy or passed the time of day, from paying to collection of food!The person which handed out food over was a manager and even he was very none expressionless, with no smile or anything.They still could be courteous and try to look interested and not just hold the bag of food out and say nothing. Over stayed our welcome by 11 minutes (1hr 41 min) inside your restraunt and been charged £50 for the privilege. Restraunt and customer services completely unhelpful even with credit card evidence I was inside for that period of time. Need notices up inside with regard to parking charges.

Posiblemente el peor McDonalds en Gran Bretaña. La comida está fría antes de servirla, el personal solo está interesado en cotillear entre ellos mismos, nunca en las mesas limpias y la unidad de disco se niega a estacionar ningún automóvil, ya que eso requeriría que caminen a algún lado. Pero nada de esto importa, ya que su pedido será incorrecto la 1ª calle y la 2ª vez que se lo entregan. Quejarse bajo su propio riesgo, ya que la mayoría del personal es grosero y no le importa, morirá de vejez antes de que intenten solucionar su problema. El personal se ha dado cuenta de que si marca su pedido en la pantalla, puede hacer que espere todo el tiempo que quiera sin que la oficina central sepa cuán pobres son sus tiempos de servicio.

Entró en un viaje a casa, ojalá no nos hubiéramos molestado. El personal era extremadamente grosero, uno que golpeó sus manos sobre el mostrador porque el cliente de enfrente estaba decidiendo qué ordenar. Me sacaron dinero en efectivo y me devolvieron el cambio en el mostrador. El lugar parecía sucio y desordenado. Al menos sabemos evitar la próxima vez que pasemos.

Visitamos recientemente con dos amigos y seis niños entre nosotros, llegamos a las 2. 30 pm, así que no en la hora pico todos comimos y luego porque estábamos teniendo una buena conversación y el lugar no estaba agitado, pedimos más bebidas y pasamos un poco más allí, nos fuimos justo antes de las 4. 15 . ¡Así que imagine mi sorpresa hoy cuando los 3 recibimos 100 avisos de cargos de estacionamiento porque habíamos estado en el estacionamiento durante 1 hora y 44 minutos y solo se le permite estar allí durante 1 hora y 30 minutos! ! ¡300 por gastar más dinero! ! Absolutamente asqueroso, no volveremos! !

Esto es lo peor que he visitado. Estábamos de vacaciones en la zona y pasamos por un bocado para comer aproximadamente a las 8 pm el viernes por la noche, de camino a nuestro alojamiento. Estaba absolutamente sucio y asqueroso. Los contenedores se desbordaban y usaban bandejas y escombros que ensuciaban la mayoría de las mesas. Ventanas sucias cubiertas de huellas de manos pegajosas. La comida cayó al suelo. Comida como cualquier otra salida. Estaba claro que nadie estaba limpiando el restaurante o vaciando los contenedores, si los contenedores se hubieran vaciado con regularidad para que los clientes pudieran limpiar su propia basura. El marido se quejó con el gerente sobre el sorprendente estado del lugar y, poco después, el gerente salió para limpiar las mesas y vaciar los contenedores de basura. Le oímos decirle a los demás que el personal se negaba a seguir sus instrucciones y hacer lo que se les pagaba por hacer y mantener el restaurante limpio y ordenado. Si este es el caso, deben ser despedidos. Nunca volvería a visitar este lugar nunca más.

Waited 30 mins to get our food! To then get home and find out that they got the order wrong! The staff are ignorant!! Don’t recommend at all!

It used to be good years ago but over the last couple of years it’s gone down hill badly. Easy to get fast food right but then you get these amateur business people popping up hoping to cut corners and raise their profits quicker. Result is stale food - last few time the salad on the burgers, or just lettuce, has been slightly brown and soggy, cheap mayo, chips ok but they’ve moved to a cheaper oil which leaves a sweetish taste. Customer service is hit and miss, clumsy or rude staff who hardly who almost lob the food at you in the drive thru. Rubbish.

Funny staff think they are above everyone else. Talk down to you and patronizing. Went at 1am for a coke says on website 24Hour Open I get there only drive through. We stopped here on our way to Centre Parcs Whinfell Forest. We had our noraml food choices and the food was at the normal Mcdonalds prices. Our food here was nicer than the Carlisle branch at Kingstown. This Mcdonalds was extremely busy even at late afternoon on a Friday. The restraunt was clean and tidy and welcoming. Though, it was hard to find a table. The only thing about the Penrith Mcdonalds is a lack of parking compared to Carlisle Kingstown. We had to circle around the car park a few times. We even saw some people paying and walking over in the Train Station Car Park. Overall, A good Mcdonalds

They waist police time on us and are genuinely nasty, the managers laugh at us and treat us with no respect. They kick us out for reason and don’t serve us most the time. Horrible restaurant.

Visitamos este restaurante de comida rápida, el domingo 9 de diciembre, tuvimos la oferta de desayuno mcmuffin, nos cobraron por un artículo que no recibimos, y la comida que teníamos era inferior a la media. Hemos tenido algunas buenas comidas de aquí en el pasado, pero las últimas semanas fueron muy malas. Y el servicio no fue mucho mejor, guardaron mi recibo, después de que me quejara y para evitar más vergüenza, porque estaba bastante ocupado nos fuimos.

We visited for our breakfast and had no problems, food was hot, premises clean and staff were okay. For free we had a nice view of the ruins of Penrith Castle, built in the 15th century, and is open to the public.

Not really cooked enough and food was cold. The order was taken quickly and it wasn't that busy inside but a lot in drive through. But lukewarm food isn't acceptable. They do put enough salt on, better than other places.

Went to the drive through and placed our order. Were told to go and park up in the waiting bay and they would bring our food out to us. A lady came out with a bag, luckily I checked inside and noticed the burgers were missing. So called the lady back and she went back inside to get them. 5 minutes later she returned with the missing burgers. By now the fries and been sat 5 minutes so weren’t very warm but wasn’t prepared to go back and queue for another 20 mins to ask for the fries to be changed. We set off to drive back home which is only a a couple of minutes away to get home and unpack the food to realise we were missing our share box of chicken nuggets. So back in the car we got and drove back up to ask where the rest of our order was. The young lad said they were had been sat on the side and had been forgotten about. So he picked them up and handed them to us. I said it’s nearly 20 mins since they were ordered and if they’ve been sat on the side aren’t going to be hot. He said he would get some fresh ones but by this point everything else was stone cold. Absolute shambles. Staff clearly don’t have a clue!

Late night dinner - not a car and they said ”no CHANCE” jesus effing christ i justed wanted a mc chicken burger with large fries and nothing else - it’snot like there would be a queue on MONDAY MORNING BEFORE 1 AM??!! You’re losing customers.

Why advertise your 24 hour service, when you clearly are NOT. Went to go in for a coffee at the same time as a minibus full of loads of starving men. Such a shame you probably lost out on a huge sale.

Stopped for breakfast on route to a weekend away....watched an employee touch every single item of food with his fingers, no hand hygiene and minimum use of utensils noted.other employees doing the same....went to use the ladies toilets...3/3 didnt flush...very worrying....

Sunday morning breakfast waited in the drive they queue for over 30 minutes only to be given the WRONG ORDER!!! Was not impressed and didn’t want to wait for another 30 minutes to sort it out so ended up with someone else’s breakfast!

Had to finish work and nip to Newcastle for a hospital appointment so needed a quick bite on the road for myself and my boy. A large "Mctasty" meal was ordered at the drive thru. Half a box of lukewarm fries and a burger that looked like it had been made by someone on a pogo stick and then lobbed the length of the kitchen in to the bag. Very kind of them to leave a hair in burger too! I have eaten from this "restaurant " once in the last year. I won't make the same mistake again however pressed for time or however hungry I am ever again.

Used a couple of times including today and the staff in the drive-thru have been brilliant, very polite. No mistakes with orders and food came quickly.

It's a McDonalds, so what can you say... well, quite a lot actually. I like that it's 24 hour and has a drive through, but often the breakfast food is tepid and the hot chocolate is so weak it's like brown water, except for the last month because the hot chocolate machine has been broken... for a month!

I am completely disgusted by the service in McDonald’s, a little ginger man who appears to be the manager is extremely rude and refuses to serve teenage kids who must fund there workers wages, I don’t see what the problem is with teenagers being in McDonald’s, pathetic!

I am very shocked at how the staff members spoke to the youths, and how rude they were towards them as they only wanted to buy some food. They got told they weren't getting served because they were part of a "group" but they had no clue what they were going on about, the girls were very polite but the way they got approached by staff was appalling, the girls and I felt very intimidated by them as they did nothing wrong and got spoken to like they were worth nothing. I was very concerned because the girls seemed quite worried as they thought it was them who'd let the society down by other youths behaviours but they got the blame. Macdonals earn a lot of money from teenagers as most people use this restaurants to catch up with there mates and take a bite to eat and now that's got taken away from them. I will not be returning to Macdonals as it gave me a whole different view on the people that work there.

I only came in for my tea and I was discussed with the way they spoke to the children when they just came to buy their tea they refused to serve them. The fact they probably earn a lot of money from teenagers than older people, such as myself, it seemed unfair and as if people had different advantages to the younger youth. The girls seemed polite and would clearly not do what they were being referred to, the manager himself probably knows things are taken out of proportion. Issues like this should be looked at carefully and dealt with in an adult manner. It’s like saying, are you going to band every teenager that enters this restaurant? The way I witnessed this is an explanation why I won’t be entering the restaurant again.

ok i have been to this macdonalds a number of times with it being are local macdonalds but they can never get are order correct so i shall begin i once ordered 3 big mac meals and when i got home i realised they did not give us any chips with the meals.i have ordered a kids plain cheese burger and a big mac meal and my kids burger came with everything on but my big mac had no sauce no cheese basically just burger and a bun i have ordered 2 kids plain cheese burgers and one has came as i asked and the other was just a ham burger.I have also ordered on the breakfast menu a sausage and egg bagel i got a bacon and egg bagel i think this is alot of orders to be getting wrong there needs to be better comunication between the chefs and the staff taking the orders

We stopped here for breakfast while going across to the lakes. Not that far off the A66 or M6. Car park is abit tight, so wouldn't want to be towing a caravan. Easy ordering and quick service. Nothing flash, it's a mcdonalds.

We experienced the usual friendly service we always get when we visit any of these restaurants. We did however have table service which was new to us! They did need to empty the bins a bit more frequently though!

Helpful lovely staff and fresh food! Young teens causing a scene and disrespecting staff which appalled me but staff handled it well.

Just charged £9.98 at drive thru till for a big tasty meal - staff disinterested and unwilling to discuss. Checked when home and overcharged by at least £4. Suggest be on guard against what I would suggest was deliberate overcharging.

Facilities were not available for 24x7 as it mentioned. Unfriendly staff. It does have Tabs inside for children and adults to play but all of them not equipped with internet only one out of four. Really needs improvment.

Great for a quick breakfast! I had porridge today lovely and filling. Staff attentive, restaurant clean modern. Love the light shades made from a coil of cardboard very arty! Always a good stop before getting on the train.

My order was wrong fries cold. i complain waited 20 min for them to replace order and it was wrong again order double chesse burger with no pickle and large fries and a diet coke.got burgers with pickle colde fries and a fanta

I only come here as its close to my mum's home and as my 4 year old nephew doesn't get fast food very often this is always his choice of treat when I visit. Restaurant is usually pretty clean and reasonably fast. My nephew loves the table with the tablet game consoles but I wish they could get an order right as they never have up to now. My nephew ordered a happy meal. How wrong can you go with that. Well they put a small burger and drink on our tray. No chips, happy meal box or toy until I pointed out it was supposed to be a happy meal. At 4 year old that box and toy is important. I ordered a plain quarter pounder with cheese. When I opened it not a bit of cheese in sight. We seem to have similar issues whenever we visit. The staff are always apologetic and put things right but just once I'd prefer that they get the order right.

Placed an order at drive thru for breakfast. Arrive back home with the order to find one entire meal missing yet have been charged for it. Every single hash brown was dripping in grease and stuck to the grease proof bag making them all inedible. Very very poor. Cannot be bothered to go back and sort it as having read a lot of the reviews on here it would be pointless!
